Mariah watched the two girls talking, not answering Serena when she acquired finding something else for Mariah to do. She was in full sulk mode and no amount of tempting from other children was gonna yank her out of that. Or so she told herself. That was until the Quidditch pitch was mentioned of course. Mariah happened to love Quidditch. What well brought up wizard child didn't? She could recall the hundreds of games played on her brothers brooms in the back yard. Mariah always played Keeper, mostly because her brothers wanted to practice their actual roles on their actual teams, but also because they said the best introduction role to Quidditch was the keeper. You were there to distract and block. Easy as cake, simple as pie.

Her brothers grilled her last summer on a million different ways to block a Quaffle and a million different ways to make another person drop them. Even the illegal ones. Fill told her to give those a shot but Antony had explained the risk of attempting such a move during an actual game.

"I'd like to play," Mariah said suddenly, uncrossing her arms and letting them fall to her sides.

Owl me with your ideas and I'll rp with you! 'Cause it's my favorite thing ever.

Rhea nodded in response to Serena’s question. “Yeah, I play Chaser. Just got on the team, actually - tryouts ended not too long ago.” She smiled and started to reminisce about how happy she’d been when she found out she made the team - yet, she couldn’t tell her parents. And even if she could, Rhea doubted they’d care. They rarely cared about anything that concerned her, unless it involved either improving deteriorate their reputation. It was an unpleasant situation, but Rhea learned to make do. At least, she had her nanny. Maybe she could tell Aida where she was sorted, but she couldn’t yet - not unless she knew for sure Aida wouldn’t tell anyone. For now, Rhea was stuck incorporating her frustration and everything else into the music she produced.

Rhea took a deep breath in, and blew it out, focusing on not going down that path. She had no reason to - everything worked itself out in the end, always. At least, that was the motto she went by. ‘Everything will be okay, just give it time.’ She turned to Mariah, who said that she would’ve liked to play Quidditch. Rhea pressed her lips together, not knowing what to say. She didn’t know how Hufflepuff tryouts worked, but she guessed that tryouts were closed. She looked to Serena, who probably was more well informed. Instead, she decided to ask, “Have you ever played before?” Perhaps next year the raven haired Hufflepuff would have more luck, and would get to play on the team.

the trouble is, if you don't risk anything -- you risk more.

Serena turned her attention onto Rhea, who was speaking. She could still see Mariah's sulking face in the corner of her eyes. It upset her. Perhaps they could have done something to help cheer the other Hufflepuff up but ideas were not coming to mind right now. She wanted to find something that the girl enjoyed more so than causing disruptions in the corridors. For now, however, Rhea was talking to her so she focused on her. The name Bishop was definitely familiar. She was sure her mother had mentioned the family name before but she could not remember meeting the Gryffindor in front of her. Perhaps it was just one of the names that her mother had mentioned, rather than a family she had already met.

"Oh, that's awesome!" Serena replied as she heard about Rhea's position. She was hoping to join the Quidditch team herself, though she was not sure what position she had in mind. She was eyeing up the Chaser role too, as it was perhaps the most appropriate for her. "I'm hoping to join the team myself. We haven't had tryouts yet." She continued with a shrug. The Hufflepuff team was going to be decided soon, she believed but they were running a little behind everyone else it seemed. However, if she was correct, there was an upcoming match with Gryffindor playing in it whilst Hufflepuff still had time before their first match.

She shook her head a little, "I haven't played much before. My father and I often attended matches, however," Serena continued. They would go together and bond throughout the day. It was so much fun. She was hoping to attend a few more over the holidays but it always depended on if there was a match on and if her father was available. He worked a lot so it was hard to see him. "I'd be keen to play more though," She continued with a nod.

"Have you got your eye on a position, Mariah?" She asked her, hearing her sudden interjected. There was a kind smile on Serena's face. She was slightly relieved that it seemed to have caught the girl's attention and removed the sulk slightly. Perhaps this was a topic that would interest her enough to avoid getting in trouble, "I believe tryouts will be soon for us. Will you be taking part?" She continued, trying to engage her into a conversation she might enjoy.
