Dear Logan,
Noted. That shouldn't be a problem for me and I'll have you know I finally finished organizing the boxes so my room is very neat. Just don't look at my window sill where the empty boxes are. Look anywhere else.
However I must know, how many shoes are we talking about here Logan? These sorts of things are very important to know. Are we looking at 'oh, that's a lot of shoes,' or 'oH, that's a lot of shoes.' Or did she pull something of a fairy godmother and give you all the shoes that fit you, sort of level.
These are the questions we need answers to. Also did you find a new winter jacket. I swear you just love leaving plot holes in your stories.
Yes, very delicate. Like a prince waiting in a tower for their hero to help carry their books to class.
I'm swooning as I write this, daydreaming about all the heavy books I'll no longer have to carry. I'm so glad we're on the same page now.
And yes, I'll look like such a gentleman carrying the single box of yours. I'm sure you'll look equally noble carrying one of mine... .Also, that sounded like a threat Logan, why are you threatening me with our families horrible spoiling addiction? I though we were friends, allies even, are you planning on betraying me? I thought we were finally agreeing that I'm a delicate flower who needs protection. I swooned for you Logan, swooned. Did none of it mean anything to you? I even started on a flower crown as a token that Sage always says princesses and princes give their hero...
But yes, I do have a mix of muggle and our currency. The younger generations of my family are actually fine with and even like muggle things unlike some other pure blood fools. So interacting with the muggle side of things isn't new for me all that much. There's actually a muggle town further down the mountain sides, though our home is out of the way so we hardly even need the muggle repelling charms.
As with the fire issue...I never go to the great lake anyways and don't plan to start anytime soon. So I should be fine. As far as being near you when cooking I'll try to make sure it doesn't end in fire if ever we need to make anything. For your family...I'll simply take your warning gratefully and stay out of the kitchen at all times.
Sincerely,
Elsi
P.S. A quiet secret spot? Count me in.

Dear Elsian,
You probably don't want to know how many shoes I have, but lets put it this way. I can have a different pair of shoes for four months straight without repeating any of them. I will have you know that it is rather tedious because most of them don't even fit me any more. That was back in August though, she has had full access to my room since then and I have no idea what she has added to it.
As for the winter jacket, I did end up getting one that day. My brothers somehow managed to shred my old one so I needed a new one for school that wasn't completely ruined.
I guess if you are going to be in some of the same classes as me that I would be willing to carry your bag for you. BUT, you have to do something for me. I can barely pass transfiguration with an 'A' so I want an hour of transfiguration tutoring a week.
It wasn't a threat unless you want it to be. I know you are a delicate flower and I don't think I would ever be able to purposefully betray you. Flower crown? The brave and daring Gryffindor is making me a flower crown? I think you just made my day so much better.
That is a major difference between your family and mine. My family is supposed to interact with muggles at a minimum, hence the sneaking out so often. My aunt and I still go into town because it is rather close and the closest wizard town is rather far away. Our house even has a few muggle things added to it but not a lot. My family is still rather old fashion and doesn't keep up with what is actually important at this point.
You are going to come to the lake whenever you tutor me for transfiguration. Normally when I go down there aren't that many people there anyway. And no I am not practicing transfiguration in the library, I get frustrated and yell and would end up getting kicked out.
Would you be surprised if I told you that I am the best cook in my family other than my father? You should be safe though whenever you come over, my family doesn't spend a lot of time cooking anyways unless they are bored. My brothers are also not allowed in the kitchen at all after they tried to blow up the oven.
With Love,
Logan Juliette Baird
P.S Are you able to climb? Just a simple question that I need to know. It would only be a couple feet up a rope.

Dear Logan,
So what I'm hearing is you have easily over 120 pairs of shoes. Many that don't even fit you most likely...You're right. I don't want to think about that. Just the thought of having to try them all on makes me tired. Do I want to know what they did to that poor jacket? At least I got my stories ending, you got a jacket, that wraps up all the plot holes you left me.
You drive a hard bargain...but only once a week by the lake? Ugh, I guess suffering 1 by the lake vs carrying my books...is a good deal. Okay fine. I'll tutor you, you're lucky I'm actually good at that class. I could have taken the deal and been just as bad as you, you know. Still, you say you'd never betray me so it's only right I treat my luggage knight nicely I suppose.
However, I refuse to do the tutoring on Mondays. Any other days, take your pick and I'll be there but not Monday.
Also yes, I'll have you know my flower crown skills are the best. Thanks to my housemate I've also gained rather useful braiding skills. When I'll ever use them besides for her I don't know. You'll be awed by my token I'm sure, or you would be if you were still getting it. Alas...you wanted tutoring in exchange which makes you more like a mercenary than a knight in shining armor. And mercenaries don't get tokens, I asked Sage and she's a professional, so now it's just mine.
Don't worry though, according to her it still looks nice enough on me so the flowers won't go to waste. You'll be able to admire the crown from a distance.
I'd very well hope I can climb, seeing as how the best napping spots I have are in high places! So yes I can climb, very well in fact. If I couldn't I'm sure I'd be in big trouble with the amount of times I'd have to go to the hospital wing.
And if anything I find it partly a relief I am friends with the better cook and partly fearful of your family's dark talent for fire.
Sincerely,
Elsi
P.S. Aunties cat apparently thought it was hers because my door was open. The flower crown is dead, my work ruined.
She looks so happy with it...I am too weak to take it away...

Dear Elsian,
You will come to learn that it is best you don't question what my brothers do.
Is my story telling that awful? I mean I wasn't really telling a story, but now I am curious and want to know if I am that bad at it. I choose to avoid the shoe section of my closet most of the time. I get in trouble often for not wearing the right pair of shoes to match my outfit. I bet you don't have to deal with that, do you?
Only once a week, that is it. I even promise that it won't be on Mondays, unless absolutely necessary. Absolutely no one can be as bad at Transfiguration as I am. Potions and Astronomy, perfect, Transfiguration and I am sitting in the corner crying because I can't get it correct.
I will believe your flower crown skills are the best I get one, seeing as your aunt's cat killed and you weren't going to give it to me in the first place, I guess I can't believe you. I also hope you realize that you are an absolute twit. You talk about Sage quite often, you two must be rather good friends. If you were to have a crown, does that mean I would have had to bow down to you? Because I don't bow down to people unless I have to.
Good, about the climbing, to get to my favorite spot you have to bit of climbing. If you couldn't climb you wouldn't have been able to get there and I would have had to leave you on the ground. I would have gotten to see the few and you would have gotten to see nothing.
I didn't say I was good at cooking, just not as bad as my aunt and brothers. As for the fire thing, I don't know where that comes from in the family. I think we are just that clumsy that things end up on fire. It also might just be the fact that my brothers love to cause trouble and will do anything to get attention. Can you imagine, I am the one that started the trouble making in the first place?
With love,
Logan Juliette Baird
P.S My brothers sent me a letter after they found out that you are coming over. They say they have something planned for you so I would prepare yourself.

Dear Logan,
Getting in trouble just for wearing the wrong shoes? Hardly. Not unless it was for something big like a party or gala. I used to get in trouble for ripping clothing up by accident but that was when I was like 5 and horrible at climbing so I don't think that should count. I have gotten in trouble for taking apart clothing in the past for fabric but now I only do that with clothing that's old or doesn't fit anymore after getting yelled at for a good hour.
As for your story skills, tell me a story and we'll see. I'd say your future looks decent enough though, after all, I loved hearing about your families gift with fire.
'Something planned', has never in my life sounded as ominous as it just did in your letter, I hope you realize that Logan. I haven't even met them and I'm already nervous, throwing me to the wolves I suppose. How could I possibly prepare myself? Sounds to me like I'd just be setting myself up for failure, and that's a lot of effort for me. I've had a good run I guess.
As for Sage, yes, she's one of the few people I'm close to. You included. She's the only housemate of mine that I've bother interacting with actually. I don't even know any of the others, spare the odd drama I see or name I pick up. Still trying to teach her how to climb a tree after she almost fell out of the last one.
How dare you challenge my skills Logan. I've never been so insulted and I see what you're doing and damn it's working because I'm petty. Very, very petty and now I'm going to have to actually go out into the gardens and work because of it. Ugh, I hate this. Tell me your favorite colors, I demand them. I am not putting in the effort to only make something you find half par. And I'm not a twit, I'm a delicate flower. A delicate flower who rules with an iron fist over the flower crown industry but a delicate flower nonetheless.
Also I can't believe you'd betray me like that. Well, actually I can. Especially now that you've just revealed the fact you're behind the tricks your brothers do, but I can still pretend to be shocked and hurt by any betrayals.
Enough of that though, inevitable betrayals aside do you even like cooking? You say you're bad but is it purely bad luck and clumsiness or is it also because you don't have lots of practice? It doesn't sound like you would have the time with the recitals and those horses of yours.
Sincerely,
Elsi

Dear Elsian,
I am not the perfect child that I stated earlier in the year. I lied, I get in trouble quite often. Most of the time it is for small things, but I get in trouble for larger things as well.
I will have to think of story to tell you when you get here. I only have five days so I will have to think quickly. I am assuming that I am not allowed to find a story in a book and just change it up a little bit. Do you have any preferences on the type of story that you want? I should be able to find a childhood story in that amount of time though. I might even be able to find some stories about the Baird family in that amount of time.
I wouldn't worry to much about my brothers. They seem to worship you because you are a Gryffindor, even though they have never met you they already seem to love you. That is what I would worry about the most, they may follow you around or they may have gotten you something. It can't be too bad.
Challenging peoples skills is something I don't normally do, but if I am getting something out of it then I may start doing it more often. If you must know, my favorite colors are green, white, and gold/yellow. A delicate flower you are, my first impression of you was that you didn't care about anyone else and did everything for yourself. Now I can see that you are just a delicate little flower.
I was a difficult child. Once they were able to walk and talk I had them following me everywhere to cause trouble. For the longest time we weren't allowed to play alone together because one of us would end up getting hurt or cause the neighbors to flip out. I haven't participated in their mischief lately but I do help them every once in a while if they need assistance with something small.
Honestly, I haven't cooked in a about three years. I used to have small cooking lessons with my mother but those stopped years ago when I started recitals and horse competitions. Most of the time I don't even end up eating at home anyways and I have something small while out of the house. Since starting school I think that is the most I have eaten in a while. Kal also does most of the cooking in the house and with the diet I am supposed to be on for dance, most of my food doesn't even get cooked. It just gets thrown together in a dish and then I can eat it.
If you ever want some fabric to sew with, let me know. I have plenty that you can choose from.
With Love,
Logan Juliette Baird

Dear Logan,
Perfect is horribly boring anyways.
No, no going into books and simply changing certain things. That doesn't count, not unless you practically uproot the entire story to make it your own. I like all sorts of stories. Fantasy, myths, fairytales, horror; I'm not picky so you shouldn't have much trouble with whatever you would want. I do like 'real' stories though, whether it be family stories or mysteries surrounding something, I find it those fun to listen to.
That's good to know. Because I didn't take your warning to heart and prepare. Instead I went to the lake to nap in the shade. I did find flowers that look nice and match the colors you seem to like though so it wasn't all sleeping today.
Almost a shame I woke up after only an hour really.
That's odd to think about. Not cooking for so long, I don't think I could get away even a year without cooking something. Who knows, maybe you can bake something over here, at the very least...you could stir and help shape cookies I'm sure. As long as I don't let you near the oven you should in theory...avoid any fires starting.
Also, no your first impression of me was perfect actually, I just happen to also be part delicate flower. I really don't care about most other people, most people are annoying. There just happens to be a rare select few who I happen to like enough to bother. Can't guarantee I'd be pleasant company to most people honestly. I practically had a heart attack the first time I met you you know, sneaking up on me like that. Horrible really.
You shouldn't offer me fabric like that.
You're fueling a horrible habit and I obviously accept because who am I to refuse your enabling.
Sincerely,
Elsi

Dear Elsian,
I must apologize for the late reply, yesterday was a rough day. Between getting everything packed again and getting home I think just about everything could have gone wrong. My aunt forgot to pick me up at first so I ended up waiting an hour until she got there. Once I got home I unpacked everything and took a shower. I thought maybe that would be fine but the twins decided it would be a perfect time to put hair dye in the shampoo bottle. My hair is now a splotchy copper like red brown. I think everything after that was just a mess and I just didn't have time to write to you.
I guess for the stories I won't just find a book and copy. There are probably hundreds of family stories that I have been told over the years so I can just tell you one of those. I have decided that in return you have to tell me a story of your own at some point in time. It could be when you come over or when I go over to you house, I don't care.
I think it would be fun to bake while over at your place. I don't think it would be the greatest idea to cook here as my family would most likely want to join in. If I am in a kitchen, it does not mean that I will automatically catch something on fire. I am not that accident prone I should let you know.
I can agree with you with the 'most people are annoying bit.' It makes me feel so happy that you think I am actually worth bothering. Sneaking up on you, I don't think that was particularly my fault and if I remember correctly I yelled at you quite a bit that day as well. I don't think sneaking up on you was completely horrible, but if you say so.
I can give you about as much fabric as you want when you come over. I am not fueling anything.
With Love,
Logan Juliette Baird
P.S My brothers are mad because my hair didn't come out "Gryffindor Red" like they hoped it would have.
