Parseltongue

The fiancée apologized to Wyatt for snapping at him. It was an odd feeling, usually, Wyatt was the one apologizing- well, more like he was usually the one who was supposed to apologize, though he never really did. At least not truthfully, anyway. The truth was something Wyatt wanted- no, needed from life, yet he was always the one to bend it. Wyatt Starkey was a textbook hypocrite. Was he proud of it? Well… maybe. “Hm.”

The kid was visibly more annoyed than Alec was. Alec seemed the type to put all of his emotions out there, and boy did he have a lot of emotions, but compared to what his fiancée was showing, Alec was just fine. And that made Wyatt quite angry. How was Alec just fine with this? He should be angry! He should be shouting at his mother, even though she was so happy right now it was terrifying.

Finally, the Slytherin excused themself from the table. Or more like they stuttered, jumped up, and ran out of the Masons' house. Wyatt wished he would’ve done that on his first day. Wyatt didn’t do much at the house besides sleep and play guitar. All he learned from Alec’s house was that he felt awkward around Alec after getting to know him better. Seeing his stupid side, seeing his artistic and vulnerable sides…

Wyatt shot Alec a look of, “should I help?” After a moment of waiting for an answer, Wyatt rolled his eyes and jogged out the front door. The more he thought about it, he identified the symptoms. Was Alec’s fiancée having a panic attack? Wyatt picked up his pace, booking it toward the kid standing by the road. Taking a few steps closer, Wyatt hears something. The boy can’t believe his ears. He freezes. Parseltongue? He blinked.

The boy stopped thinking and decided to say something. “I wish I could tell you, but sometimes parents can be quite foolish.” Wyatt stood behind the kid, and crossed his arms. “Though, you pure-bloods are stranger than the rest of us.” Trying to understand exactly what the hell was happening at the moment, Wyatt thought of why he was doing this. Did he think it would be comforting? Probably.

Cash had quite a lot to say for someone who was making the situation just as worse as he'd been. Even if he'd been doing it quite effortlessly. They really didn't have much to show for where freaking out got them. Then again, they were the type of person to wear a backpack just to annoy their parents. Eventually though, after Cash had more than their fair share of freaking out. They apologized to Wyatt. The first thing Alec was going to do when Cash left. For glaring at him, it was uncalled for.

Even if siding with Cash made his mom happy, somehow.. Alec's usual posture around his parents, which was completely straight around his parents, was sort of slouched. He kept his gaze on the ground avoiding confrontation; it was the last thing he needed right now. It felt a lot like when Alec realized he may have accidentally killed the spider he'd been watching over since the start of summer, something he knew was going to happen one way or another, and he chose to just ignore this factor. He still hadn't taken in the whole fiancee thing either. Yes, he was very clearly aware of it but; he needed more time to think through the full impact of what this meant.

And being sort of yelled at while you're still trying to digest this new information doesn't help. Alec finally looked up when he heard rushed footsteps. Had Alec missed something? Wow, you don't pay attention for..... however long Alec had not been paying attention. And just when he's not paying attention, things happen? What is this? Some kind of tomfoolery? In all seriousness though, Alec was clueless and was more than willing to be keyed in on what was going on now. Alec knew Cash had been upset.. But upset enough to run out of the house? Not something Alec saw coming. Alec then noticed something else odd. Wyatt giving him some sort of look? Sort of gesturing to the way Cash went. What..? And then Alec realized. And oh boy, was he surprised. Since when did Wyatt even remotely care about somebody he barely knew? Alec was now more puzzled than ever.

By this point his confusion very, very obvious on his face. But it was blown off by Wyatt with an eye roll as he left the house. At least something was normal.. And there Alec was.. left alone with his mother's disapproving eyes on him. Had it been his fault Cash dashed out the door..? The look Alec's mom was giving him seemed to think so. Oh, how he wished his older sister was here to break the silence and get his mom to stop staring at him, even if it took making fun of him.

Cash was standing beside the road. Watching all the cars that park there. Their mind running a mile per minute. The faint laughter coming from Alec's house can be heard from where they stand. Cash sigh at that. It seems there is no escape route to cancel this thing off. The light breeze that hit their face gently somehow calm their inner turmoil.

With how rushed they bolted from the Mason's, there is no doubt that their mother saw that and in just a few moment their mom will come out to retrieved them. The usually calm and collected girl seething with anger. And when that anger arise, a language that feared by many witches and wizards came out from their mouth.

If a muggle or someone that is not a Parselmouth, they will only hear hissing. A hissing that will make the hair of their neck will stand up. Cash hear someone approach them. They did not know what to say if it was Alec that approached them. When another hissing greet their ears, Cash turn their head towards the source of the noise.

"You are Parsel too, huh? I did not see that coming"Cash let out a force grin. To their surprise it Wyatt that approached them and somehow the purple dyed hair girl felt relief. Cash let out a small chuckle when Wyatt said that Pure-bloods are strange. "Gee thanks! I did not realize that"Cash deadpanned but soon a small (this time) genuine smile came out from the green eyes girl.

"How is it inside?"Cash inquire the other boy. Cash stand beside the road feel like a lifetime, in reality it is only a couple of minutes. Cash thought that by this minute, Alec will come out from his house and check how's his fianceé doing but no, the curly hair boy kept quiet and be okay inside his house.

Cash about to say something when the front door of the Mason' being opened by their mom. "Qué estás haciendo? (what are you doing?)"Their mom asked them. "Talking with my friend"Cash inform their mother. At this point Cash did not know what their relationship with Wyatt is but somehow the presence of the boy calm them.

"Dicho en Español, Cash (said in Spanish, Cash)"Their mother ordered. "Why? So he did not know what are we talking about?"Cash anger flared up again and fired towards their mother. "Eso no es lo que quise decir (that is not what I meant)"Their mother trying to calm her only daughter anger. "Tell me how you feel"This time around their mother said in English.

"Bueno! Quieres saber cómo me siento? Esto es una locura, madre! Sabes exactamente quién soy y aún continúas esta locura (Okay! Do you want to know how I feel? This is crazy, mother! You know exactly who I am and you still carry on this madness)"Cash expressed their frustration. With each of the sentences their voice getting higher and higher.

"Tengo doce años, madre. Doce! Cómo pudiste hacerme esto a mí? (I am twelve years old, mother. Twelve! How could you do this to me?)"Cash stated with dejected tone. The unshed tears pooling in their green eyes. Their mother only look at them with the same sorrow eyes. Cash then take a deep breath, pushed down their sadness and walk back again towards the Mason'.

When they stand up next to their mother, Cash look at the brown eyes of their mom. "I hope my sacrifice of unhappiness make you and father happy"They uttered sarcastically. "Excuse me, I have to act like nothing just had happened"Cash pushed their mother aside gently and sat back down again to where Alec still situated.

"How is it inside?" Wyatt sighed. “Tense, if it’s the same as how I left it.” Something in his mind was pushing him to hate them. It didn’t sit right with Wyatt that Alec was going to be marrying this kid. But even with that, Wyatt thought they were pretty chill. He tagged on a “sorry,” though it was a little late. Wyatt never really had good social skills, but he’d gotten this far in life, hadn’t he?

As Wyatt sheepishly shoved his hands into his pockets, he heard the Mason’s front door open. He turned to see who seemed to be the kid’s mother. Spinning on his heel, Wyatt said low, so only Alec’s fiancée could hear. “Heads up.” Then he walked away from the street, back to the Mason’s house. When he reached the stairs, he heard the kid say, "talking with my friend." Wyatt stopped in his tracks.

No one had ever called him their friend before. He bit his lip to keep from smiling and looked down at the ground below. The snake looked up and ran up the stairs. It was quite difficult to hold back his smile, but Wyatt just thought of sad things, and within seconds the smile had faded. The Slytherin sighed as he opened the door. It’s not just Alec who’s being affected by this, he concluded.

Wyatt felt really bad for both of them. Wasn’t this kind of thing illegal? It was certainly weird. Wyatt felt it was only right for him to say something, since he was sure Alec would keep his mouth shut. “Mrs. Mason, it’s painfully obvious neither child wants to be involved with this.” Wow, he really didn’t think this through, but this had to be said. This whole thing was so old-fashioned.

“And… I-I know,” the stutter. Wyatt closed his eyes and wished he was anywhere else, somewhere Alec wasn’t. But when he opened his eyes again he was still in the Mason’s dining room. “I know this isn’t my business but it’s wuh-wr… it’s wrong. Your son is unhappy. Don’t you see it?” Wyatt sighed. “I’m sorry.” Wyatt turned around just as the fiancée walked back in and he jogged up the stairs to Alec’s room.

He said what he needed to say.

Leaving the thread unless prevented.

Alec watched as his mother tried to get him to go out there and check up on Cash. And soon enough Cash's mother went to do it after Wyatt. Sure, it was a nice thought. But Alec was bad with anything close to comforting people. Doing 'acts of kindness' for someone when their upset was something Alec could do. It didn't require social skills, just someone who was willing to do it. But comforting someone did.. It was like all their emotions laid out on plain display at this very moment relied on you making the right comments, actions, and suggestions.

With just one word you could easily upset the person because of the vulnerable.. state they are in. And it was much more worse when there was a bigger power wanting you to do it. A dangerous higher power that is not to be messed with. And failing in the case was much worse than standing right here and just hoping things turn out fine without your influence of which could easily be messed up. Alec was overthinking this, wasn't he? It happened so often, especially recently. That it just seemed normal. By now overthinking was just a part of who he was. Not that he minded. All outcomes and possibilities were a great thing to consider when making a decision. Except when a lot of Alec's decisions were rash. Even when he did know the consequences, he was going to end up doing what he wanted to do either way.

Of course, the whole engagement thing was another issue in itsel-And Wyatt had entered the room. At least Alec wasn't the center of attention now. "Mrs. Mason, it’s painfully obvious neither child wants to be involved with this." Wyatt said. And now all the attention was on Wyatt. Well, that's one way to do it. Not that Alec was mad at Wyatt's choice of words, or that he was the center of attention at the moment. "And… I-I know," Wyatt began starting to stutter. It always reminded Alec that Wyatt was actually human. If that made any sense..

Just knowing even Wyatt could make mistakes sometimes, and it wasn't just Alec who seemed to not be able to get anything right. "I know this isn’t my business, but it’s wuh-wr… it’s wrong. Your son is unhappy. Don’t you see it?" You get to learn a lot about someone in a summer. But they always end up finding a way to surprise you. Sure, by now Alec knew Wyatt wasn't this just mean person who's only quality was being mean. But he'd thought maybe Wyatt would just give an eye roll towards this situation and go hang out in Alec's room, just ignoring all this. Yet here he was. Wyatt let out a sigh, "I'm sorry." he said, and with that he started making his way up the stairs. Alec's mother had never looked more red in her life, the cause of which it was either anger, embarrassment, or both.

Alec's father was at work some emergency things come up, he surely knew about the matter but Alec wondered what he'd think about what Wyatt had said. Alec's mother cleared her throat and turned to Cash's mom. "I'll owl you later" She concluded and left the room. Alec felt a bit bad for his mom, she'd been a bit unusual lately now that Alec began to think about it. She never got embarrassed, and even when she did she hid it well. More short tempered than usual, then again when you're gone all school year opting to stay home for the holidays a lot changes. Alec shifted uncomfortably, unsure what to say. Since he'd just been standing here. "I should u-um.. go check on my uh.. my little sister.. bye!" And with that Alec was gone.
