Another Year For Me, A New Year For You

Really really sorry for this really late reply. Busy doing homework and other stuffs![]()
“Yeah, I do enjoy it very much. It’s fantastic. I believe it’s the best among all the magical schools.”
Boasting? She wasn’t. Maybe those foreigners believed their schools were the best, like those Durmstrangs guys and Ilvermony students. They had fabulous teachers and great students. So why didn’t you regard Hogwarts as the best?
“Do you want to be a professor there after you graduate, so you can still stay years after school is done?”
A professor…nice job, really. And it could allow her to stay in the castle for a long time. Caring for young students seemed a little not her cup of tea, but still fine. See Professor Browne and Professor Jensen! They were really nice people.
“Well, maybe, being a professor seems really attractive…I’d like to work in the Ministry as well. But St. Mungos is not my cup of tea.” She smirked.
The twelve year old still, didn’t have exact ideas for her future life. For now, making friends and studying hard seemed the most important and appropriate things.
“And what about you? Any ideas?” She asked.
This question seemed a little inappropriate for a eleven year old Hogwarts student, but who knows? Maybe Elisabeth already got her future plans.

Another Year For Me, A New Year For You
@Lindsey Springhall
Their subject had now shifted from school to dream career, or perhaps more appropriately dubbed "after-school plan". (I mean, Elisabeth spoke to herself inside her head, I think most people would rather be a lottery winner or instant billionaire or the like. Beats me if someone would honestly wants to work to stay alive.)
Elisabeth asked Lindsey if she planned to be a Hogwarts professor after graduation; and it was just that: a question, not a suggestion. However, it seemed that the brown-haired girl had never thought about this career path, and now she looked as if she was considering it. "Well, maybe, being a professor seems really attractive…" she said, before adding that she would also like to work in the British Ministry of Magic - which, Elisabeth guessed, had been her original plan all along. Lindsey also told her that she did not want to work in St Mungo's Hospital, and then asked her junior which career she would like to pursue.
"If it has to be in the wizarding world," answered the Hispanic-Asian girl carefully, trying to sound neutral or simply cool, "I think I wanna be a healer. Ayi - sorry, I mean my aunt - is a healer too, she works in St Mungo's. But so far I think I'd prefer living in the muggle world, and there I want to be a doctor like my papá or a nurse. Have you ever heard about doctors and nurses?"
And then, "What about Edmund? Has he got any fixed plan yet?"

OC note: Ah, I see. They still give you homework even on summer break?
My school didn't.

“If it has to be in the wizarding world, I think I wanna be a healer.” Said Elisabeth.
Lindsey suddenly felt a respect for this new Hogwarts student. A healer! Like her mother and Elisabeth’s aunt, but was a job Lindsey could never do. She was feared of blood, organs, bones, and almost everything on one’s body. As a result, a healer would be really far away from her.
The healers were all respectful. They saved people! Lindsey soon decided Elisabeth was ambitious, and she liked it.
“That’s cool! I really respect your dream.” She smiled to the younger girl.
“Have you ever heard about doctors and nurses?” Continued Elisabeth.
Doctors and nurses? Aren’t they muggle healers? Seemed that half of Elisabeth’s family worked in the medical field. Respectful, still. Muggle world was always appreciated by Lindsey, since it was really intriguing and fun.
“Oh, not really…but they are muggle healers, right? Thought I’ve read about it somewhere.” she answered honestly. Maybe the old Harriman said it when he was mad…or simply from a magazine in the station? She had no idea.
Lindsey smirked when hearing Elisabeth mentioning Edmund. Him? A fixed plan? That’s…interesting. Lindsey, honestly, did not know much about Edmund’s future career. He had said it before…he wanted to be a…oh Curse-Breaker! Edmund’s always good at Arithmacy and Charms. Maybe that’s his fittest job. But who knows? Edmund might have his own thoughts.
“I don’t know exactly what he wants to do.” She answered, “But maybe a curse breaker. I somehow remembered him saying that.”
This was followed by a small apologetic smile for not being able to answer properly. She glanced at her muggle watch. The train would soon be…leaving?! They had already been talking for such a long time!
“Lindsey,” she heard her father calling her behind, “We’ve got to go.”
Lindsey looked around. She saw her mother already parted Mrs Erner, and was waiting Edmund and herself with their father together at the wall that led you into the magical world.
“Oh, bye Elisabeth then! I hope to see you soon in Hogwarts.” she smiled friendly to her new friend. Who knows? Maybe they’d even meet in the Hufflepuff common room!
She jumped merrily towards her parents. Her second year, had officially begun.

"That's cool! I really respect your dream," said Lindsey with a friendly smile. The more senior student also admitted that she was not familiar with the concept of doctors and nurses, but she tried her best to remember, "They are Muggle healers, right? Thought I've read about it somewhere."
The two might have just known each other for mere minutes, but Elisabeth had got the impression that Lindsey was a polite and honest person. She might not have the same ambition as Elisabeth, but she did not make fun of it; and she was not very clear about what a doctor or a nurse was, but unlike some other people, Lindsey was not hesitant to admit the fact. Elisabeth was sure that if the brown-haired girl did not change her attitude, she would be a likeable candidate one day when she tried applying for jobs.
Lindsey also told the Asian-Latinx girl that her brother Edmund seemed to want to be a curse breaker. Elisabeth was not familiar with what kind of job it was; but from its name, the eleven-year-old girl assumed that it means he would have to... break a curse? Like a knight in the medieval fairy tales? Was there a job like that in the wizarding world? If yes, that wouldn't that be such fun!
However, before Elisabeth had a chance to ask, Lindsey's father had called her. The senior Hogwarts student followed her parents, and Elisabeth waved her goodbye. Maybe they would bump into each other again at school, and then Elisabeth could ask her about the job description of a curse breaker.
