"That's pretty interesting."Carol replied back to the Texan girl in the room. "My dad plays for the Sweetwater All-Stars Quidditch team there."She added with her first smile of the day. Simply thinking about her father always made Carol giddily excited one way or another, talking about him publicly could probably propel her to Cloud Nine if you let her! Looking back at the students called Theo and Phyllis, Carol took a deep breath not wanting to ruin the moment for once. If the next few weeks carried on without Carol freaking out in some way, the other students had a good chance of making it out of this trip injury free. The serpent looked around the tent for a few moments as awkward silence started to close in. "Right then... Is it fine if I take the bottom bunk here?" She asked, pointing to the bed on the right of Theo. The feeling of the room had begun to feel so.. so terribly quiet. Carol most certainly didn't like it, so of course she wondered if the others even felt the eerie stillness around. "So. Er.. Are any of your excited for the barbecue on the 3rd?" She asked them curiously. The students here still seemed stiff as bricks, though maybe a conversation starter could help?

Oh, this girl was so asking for it. Did she even have a sense of humor? Carol, huh, or Caroline C. Belindez since apparently she felt the need to share her full name. More like... hmm, what was that dwarf's name from Cinderella? Wait, not Cinderella... poisoned apple girl... whatever. Her knowledge of Muggle fairy tales was pretty minimal, but the fact she knew anything about them was saying something. She'd grown up with Babbitty Rabbitty and the Hopping Pot and that creepy wizard with his hairy heart, not princesses and fairies and stuff. Her mom would probably kill her if she found out she was dabbling in Muggle stuff since she was one of your typical idiot pureblood elitists, but after Astrid had shown up as Little Red Riding Hood at the Masked Ball, she'd looked into the stories Muggle children grew up with. An older Thunderbird student had actually had her parents send over a whole book of them for Phyllis, which had been really nice.

Anyways, she was pretty sure the dwarf she was thinking of was Grumpy, an excellent nickname for the girl before her. Didn't want one of her nicknames? Too bad. Deal with it. She rolled her eyes in response to the face Grumpy made, but left it at that for Theo's sake. He probably hadn't planned on being the lone boy in an otherwise all-girl tent, so the least they could do was not start a cat fight.

Having said her part, the redhead, for once in her life, said nothing while the other shared where they were from. Robin was from Texas, which gave her an immediate mental image of cowboys. Yeah, it probably wasn't actually like that. Curse her stupid strictly-pureblood upbringing. Grumpy was from some place called 'Cali'. Uh... where was that? She couldn't think of anywhere called Cali. More curses on her upbringing. Maybe it was another tiny state like Rhode Island? Yeah, staying quiet was definitely smart. Theo was from somewhere in Alaska, sounded like sewers. Now that was a state she knew. Something Grumpy said finally caught her interest: her dad was a Quidditch player. Even though she still didn't like her, Phyllis had to give a begrudging smile at that; she absolutely loved Quidditch.

Grumpy brought up the barbeque thing. Well, if she wanted to be maybe-friendly now, Phyllis could play along. "Totally excited. I'm going for sure, sounds fun. I would recommend caution around the Hogwarts kids since they have this strange ability to attract fires and half-giants and disasters in general. Wonder what Durmstrang'll be like since they're so hardcore or whatever." Her money was on them being evil, mostly because that was the school her mom had wanted to send her to and her mom was clearly evil, but hey, maybe she'd be wrong. And if the whole place hadn't burned down by the end, it might just be a nice introduction with the other schools.

OOC - I'm so sorry about how late this is. Several people have posted since my last one, so I just went ahead and tried to incorporate it all in; sorry if things got mixed up a bit in the process. ; )
Alright, so she could stay. Good. Honestly, Karilyna didn't really care where she ended up, so long as she was tenting with Phyllis (they were best friends, after all), but she was glad Duncain had agreed to their staying on. At the pun about "Theo" and "doors", though, she smirked, corking up the laughter rising in her throat. Being somewhat of a slightly excessive jokester herself, she was increasingly glad of the company, feeling that all three of them ─ herself, Duncain, and Phyllis ─ would get along amazingly. Besides, they were all Thunderbirds ─ houses didn't exist for nothing, after all. But wait, who was Rett again? The name poked at some distant memory tossed carelessly to the side like most, a recreated photograph of a time long forgotten. Though she was silent for a moment, sifting through memories in an attempt to recover an answer, her efforts were useless. Well, that was an awful shame, wasn't it?

Nickname. The word brought reality spinning back, leaving her standing there as name after name smacked her full-on in the face. Was this child serious? Although really, she couldn't bring herself to care ─ she was used to comments on her height, whether they were intended jokingly or as insults, anyway ─ and knew full well Phyllis had only playful intentions (hopefully, at least), however annoying, Karilyna feigned irritation, crossing her arms. Okay, first of all, where had KK come from? Oh, but the play on initials couldn't have prepared anyone for the deluge of height insults that came next. "Oh, shut up," she finally said in response, ramming a shoulder into her friend. Though she lacked strength, at least she had a somewhat pointy shoulder. That had to count for something, right? Still, she doubted it would hurt.

"No, but honestly, anything works," she amended. The words were there for anyone to hear ─ being called Shrimp or Shorty wasn't exactly high on the girl's list of things to do in life, but it really wasn't the biggest problem.

Karilyna and Phyllis had evidently been far from the only ones searching for tents with room and accepting members, seeing that two girls had entered right on their heels. She really didn't care ─ the more the merrier, after all ─ simply stepping farther into the tent so she wouldn't be trampled. Short people problems. But as the first one [Caroline] decided to just burst in, asking for the individual heading the tent, all the sparkle in Karilyna's eyes was promptly extinguished, replaced by a dull flame. Really? No one had even asked her to come here, let alone the talk about not having all day.

Enter the second girl, this time with a sigh. Did people not know how to have fun? She fought the urge to roll her eyes once more as the mood dampened, a strange sort of tension replacing the friendly banter that had filled the tent just moments ago. "I'm Karilyna," she introduced herself, though it was only for the sake of the two who'd just entered ─ obviously, she knew Theo and Phyllis. "It's great to meet all of you," she added with a smile.

Where were they from? To be completely honest, it was a difficult question for the young Thunderbird.

So Theo was from Alaska, huh ─ wasn't it really cold there? Carol was from California (or Cali; same thing, apparently), which wasn't too far from where Karilyna's current residence was, and Robin was from Texas. But Phyllis was British and living in Canada ─ so perhaps she was a British-Canadian attending an American school? That was… complex. Although Karilyna was certainly no geography expert, she'd been to Muggle elementary school and so was somewhat familiar with it.

Ah, right, it was her turn. "So technically, I'm from Japan, but I live in Arizona now." The words were spoken in a somewhat matter-of-fact manner, with a veil of confidence that perfectly masked the deep hurt still shaking her from her parents' sudden death years before. After all, what else was she supposed to say ─ that she was born in Japan, but had been scooted over to America when her parents died? No. Just no. What she'd already said would have to do.

Smirk back on her face, she glanced from tentmate to tentmate as they spoke of the barbeque. As for her, Karilyna certainly couldn't wait. Though she was paying attention to Phyllis' cautioning about the Hogwarts kids and musings about the Durmstrang ones, the raven-haired girl really didn't care about what all they were like. She'd never had any trouble striking up a conversation ─ and interrupting people, unbidden ─ so she was sure she could deal with whatever transpired. "I'll be going," she offered in response, "Uh, and you?" Though Carol had asked the question, she couldn't simply assume she was going. Right?
