Alan was feeling dizzy after spinning around, his head was really not okay as he narrowed his eyes to focus on the middle. His first priority was making sure of his egg not falling down so he kept his hand as steady as he could. His fingers that were grasped around the spoon would shake slightly as he took a few wobbly steps. Due to this he had to be quite careful in the way he would advance because he really did not want to have to start all over again.

Well at least he had more or less done it. Now he would just have to continue staying focused which should not be all too bad, right? He would narrow his eyes a little further, determined to progress further than he had done before. Easier said than done or was it? Alan would shake his head, not wanting to let himself be distracted by his own thoughts. In attempt to shake off the dizziness he would just continue to proceed on his path, not even trying to startle one of the other players as he had little interest in making other peoples progress less likely; he wanted to win and he could still make it. Therefore he could just continue playing it safe!

𝓐madea followed her competitors footsteps, turning around in five circles as the game began. After she had completed all five spins, she was feeling quite dizzy and Amadea prayed that her feet wouldn't give up on her now. She took a few deep breaths, trying to calm her spinning vision and focus on the egg in her hand. Her first priority was making sure the egg didn't fall. A quick glance in her peripheral vision showed Ami slamming into some other poor student that was next to her; Amadea thanked all the mighty spirits and gods that might exist that she hadn't been placed next to Ami in this competition.

Amadea refocused back on the task at hand, which was stepping forward. Despite her dizziness, she somehow managed to step forward, advancing toward the center of the ring. Looking around, she noticed that many of the other players had also managed to step forward...most of them even farther than she had! Amadea gritted her teeth together and pushed away the rest of the dizziness. Now that it had been a few minutes since she had began the spinning, she was slowly starting to feel better. If she could just push herself a little further, she could catch up with her competitors. It wouldn't be that difficult...right?

The adrenaline was coursing through her veins, and with all of her focus on the egg, Amadea attempted to step forward and tie up with her competitors.

If the Hufflepuff next to her [May] were her age or tall stature, Dymphna might have gone after her. However, she seemed to be a sweet girl and the blonde didn't like the idea of accidentally hurting someone to try to win a silly game. Still, she felt a bit of her competitive nature slipping out as it sometimes did in Quidditch. "Tá tú ag dul síos!" (You're going down!) Her eye on the prize, she put her head back down towards the bat to spin around again. It was a little too rushed and would possibly make her dizzy, but if it meant she would be quicker than the others, perhaps she would advance once more and make it to the egg before them.

The race gave her the same sort of exuberant feeling as Quidditch, and she was glad that she branched out and decided to join in, even if it meant interacting with new people along the way. Well, she wasn't quite chatting them up but at least she was out of the Ravenclaw common room interacting with others. Even if she didn't win the silly game, at least now she was certain she made the right decision to return to school so close to summertime. A laugh escaped her as she was upright again, seeing almost double as she tried to stay on her feet.

Søren had a good feeling about this one. He came out of the spin less dizzy than he thought he would be, thinking it would be enough to skirt out of the way of the girl next to him. He launched himself forwards, more carefree than he had ever felt, hoping to advance quickly. The pain in his shoulder and the egg falling off his spoon came as both a surprise and disappointment. Why was it that he always had shit luck? No one else attempted shoulder-checking except the girl who attacked him. It was disappointing, but it also lit a fire under him. He wasn’t going to win, but he hoped to at least finish ahead of his attacker. He stared down at the cracked egg with a pout and then gave the girl a playful glare.

Through the break he was able to observe how well everyone else was doing. It seemed that only him and his attacker barely advanced. The other boy in the circle made it just a short distance from the start along with another girl while everyone else was about halfway to the win. Shaking himself off, Søren placed his head on the stick and took his second spin. Coming out of it, he felt less obstructed than expected. Hoping the girl would turn her sights elsewhere and not doom them both, he attempted to move forward.

Mars came out of the spin slightly dizzier than they'd hoped. It didn't matter much though; their gaze went into laser focus as they took a step forward, arms shaking lightly under the egg. It clattered around for a moment before stilling and they released a breath they hadn't realized they'd been holding.

With the egg safely in the spoon's cradle, Mars had enough sense to take another step forward, finding their legs beneath them. This wasn't too hard. A burning pulse of competitiveness flashed through their chest. On either side of them, they could see that the two witches had advanced just as far. A little further along, a tall Ravenclaw had also come to rest next to them, egg still perfectly intact in its spoon.

By all logic, Mars should have kept going. There was really nothing to gain and everything to lose by doing anything but advancing. But, a devious little smile spread over their features as they realized that there were four people in the lead at the moment. Wasn't it that the top three were always the best? Maybe they ought to cull a little of the competition.

They felt an evil tendril rise up inside them, something they hadn't felt in a long while. This was just a game, but it was as much of just a game as chess was with Urian; wasn't really a game at all, but a slow fight to the death and bragging rights. If Mars pinched him under the table once or twice in the process, who could blame them? This was their honor they were talking about.

So, with the image of Urian's face as he looked upon his destroyed dreams stuck fast in their mind, Mars threw their weight at the poor Hufflepuff beside them, a bright, evil grin on their face. They wouldn't apologize for this one. It just made the whole thing more interesting, no?

With an ear-shattering howl, Ami flung herself into poor @Søren Silverwood, knocking into him hard enough that he managed to drop his egg. "Take that, shorty!" she screamed in his face, jeering at him goodnaturedly as he took his walk of shame back to the starting line to respin himself. Still pretty dizzy from her original spin, Ami's gaze wandered across the circle as she analyzed the rest of the competitors' progress.

It seemed that only she and Søren remained at the starting line, while everyone else had decided to press on. There was no reasonable way she'd be able to win now, even if she sprinted or Naruto Ran. But, if she was going to go down, well sugar, she'd go down swinging. Poor Søren already had enough to deal with, so Ami instead turned her sights on the person she had told herself earlier that she wouldn't dare to shoulder check. But, times had changed, and she'd already tasted first blood. Now, she had a craving that would scare even the most hardcore of dhampirs, and she was going to satisfy it one way or another.

With another screech, Ami launched herself at poor @Alan Vanes. She figured that he was close enough where she could still knock into him and sabotage his game, and it was worth a shot to try and throw him off his game. "I'm coming for you, Alan!"

It seemed she had come off with the worst disadvantage, for Ariana was feeling particularly dizzy, white spots obscuring her vision for only seconds before flashing away. She had to step forward, she had to get towards her goal. Fingers almost forgot they were grasped around the handle of the spoon, and Ariana tightened her grip hastily, flashing a glance down to check how it was doing. The insignificant objects had become something of a temporary treasure, a prized possession; something to be protected in the time she had to win. She advanced with bold effort, and it was proved quite successful as she caught up almost instantly, feeling a sense of elated confidence she moved steadily forward.

She was now balanced fairly well, and her reckless nature took over- a desire to create havoc, a chaotic move. Would she do such a thing? Yes was the answer, if you knew Ariana of course. The girl kept her grip on the spoon steady before taking a rough shove into Amadea. The move was risky in the fact that her egg wobbled dangerously. Although, poor Amadea might have not seen that coming. Or would she? Ariana left no room for remorse however, a glance wasn’t spared as she flit her gaze back towards her goal. Playing dirty was fun, was it not? A bubbling frenzy of mayhem no longer resided within the depths of her stomach, but returned yet again to the surface, eager to prove itself. This was no doubt a consequence of her competitive nature. She would do what she had to, if it meant she had any better of a chance at winning.

While the first round had been mostly peaceful advancing, except for the ever competitive Ami "Eat Dirt" Procoppio. Something had seemingly changed in the air as they continued on. To start, Ami obviously had no intention of ever making it past the first steps of just holding an egg because as soon as Søren was down she moved to her left and for some reason announced her impending attack on Alan. Maybe this is why she gloriously failed, because Alan moved with ease out of her way with the warning leaving Ami to fully and completely just face plant into the ground. Maybe it was karma for attacking right at the start. If she had any hope of winning chocolate frogs she would have to get that spin done quick and run as quick as possible towards the finish line, which was not an easy feat as demonstrated by her competitors. But, she'd probably attempt a few more attacks because the girl was out for some shoulder slamming. After an easy dodge, Alan still slowly advanced not making it too much further. It was easy to get thrown off by an attack when you just wanted to protect your precious egg and make your cat proud.

Mars had a mischievous in their young wix eyes with a smirk to match before throwing their shoulder towards an innocent May! The young Hufflepuff barely escaped the wild attack by the ambitious Ravenclaw. Maybe they could've done with more reading about physical attacks? Who knows. May spent the rest of her time trying to recuperate from the attack and ended up not moving. Mars was left having to realign themselves and try and pick up their, possibly shattered, pride off of the ground before continuing on the rescue of eggs.

Ariana was next! The bold Gryffindor going for an attack on a third year! The bravery, the audacity! Would it succeed? A resounding SUCCESS! Ariana hit the third year so hard, and so suddenly that the egg went flying out of Amadea's spoon! So far that it impressively landed splat on Ami's head. Breaking open and covering her in a delightfully bright yolk. She was a Hufflepuff after all, and pulled off the yellow well. A small yell could be heard from the sidelines, the young host was apologetic. "Sorry! I could only get raw eggs!" The devastation this round spreading across the field was prominent! When would the poor eggs be the priority here! Amadea had to return to the spin-stick land even after only having advanced one pace forward. For her, keeping her eyes on the prize just became a bit more difficult.

Luckily, Dymphna and Søren were safe this round! Dymphna was speeding ahead of the competition! Apparently being untouchable as no one even dared attempt to shoulder check her! The third year Ravenclaw was showing her elder experience in continuing to move forward despite the destruction raining down around her! Søren ended up being safe for the moment from Ami's raging shoulder but still struggled to move. Maybe he was still shaken up from the first attack? Who could blame him? Despite it all, he trudged forward! Still determined to succeed! Truly, an ambitious Slytherin!

Will the competition become more ruthless to save the eggs? Stay tuned next week for the mediocre protection of eggs from these young bright wixards!

𝓣he Hufflepuff was ready for the next round, ready to take a step forward. Her egg was steadily balanced in her hand and she carefully went to take another step forward and catch up with the leaders when out of nowhere she felt a body forcefully hit her. Looking up, Amadea saw that it was the girl who was next to her, though she didn't know the girl's name. At first Amadea thought it was her fault, that she had been so focused on her egg that she had accidentally crashed into another person. As she was opening her mouth to apologize, she remembered that it was in the rules of the game that shoulder checking was allowed.

Oh. She had just been shoulder checked. For some reason, Amadea had thought that she couldn't have been shoulder checked; she would never in a million years play dirty and she simply figured that the fates would protect her from being shoulder checked herself. Unfortunately, that did not seem to be the case as Amadea watched in slow motion as her egg rolled off of the spoon.

Shit, she thought to herself. Amadea looked around, wondering if anyone else had suffered the same fate. No, it seemed like it was just her. Now she was tied with Ami back at the start of the race. She tried to regroup and think positively; she could totally recover from this hit. She picked up her egg and put it back on the spoon, and began the process again. She could advance from this!

He had not expected someone to do an attempt to shoulder check him, but luckily it did nothing to him and he was able to advance further and without much issues. It was still a close call however and he had been quite scared for a moment to drop his egg. Luckily no one was close enough to him anymore to even attempt a shoulder check so he could try to use that to his own advantage and attempt to advance further. So far it looked like a Ravenclaw girl he once met during stormy weathers, was the furthest advanced but Alan was hoping to catch up with that now that he would have the chance.

So after more or less steadying himself, without actually focusing on this, he would try to advance. His head was still dizzy from the spinning but he was sure that he could do it. Without wasting any time he would attempt to take a few more steps forward in the hope to catch up with Dymphna. He still was surprised overall that Ami, a girl he knew because of Scott, had done an attempt to sabotage his advancement in the game. Well now she was the one having to start over, which made the third year feel a little bad but he could not really dwell on that feeling if he wanted to win this.
