A Furry Friend
── ❋ ──𝓐madea's brow furrowed slightly as @Alan Vanes hesitated at her question. It seemed like there was some sort of weight behind his answer, not really, like there was something more that he wasn't saying, a reason why he wouldn't want to be an Animagus. Amadea wondered if she should press further, ask why, but she also didn't want to pry too much, especially if it was something that was personal or touchy. She had her fair share of people that nosed their way into her business and she knew from personal experience that it wasn't an enjoyable experience. People were too nosy for their own good.
While Amadea herself would never want to be an Animagus, she often did wonder what it would be like to be an animal. For instance, she often thought about what it would be like to be a bird, being able to fly over the ground and see the world from such a different perspective. Contrary to what people might think, considering her blatant hatred for the game of Quidditch, she enjoyed the idea of being a bird. She trusted the wings of a bird that were specifically built for flying; on the other hand she did not trust the flimsy wood of a broom that could easily snap. "Yeah, I don't think I would want to be an Animagus either," she said. "The process seems really involved and also my marks in Transfiguration aren't good enough!" She laughed; as much as Amadea wished she was a straight O student, Transfiguration was one of her hardest classes and she often found herself having to put in double the effort to keep up with her classmates.
Amadea smiled as she thought of her owl; it might seem silly to others, that she could form such an intimate bond with an owl, but she and Nova were as tight as glue. "Her name is Nova!" Amadea said happily. "She's a Barred Owl; I got her last year. She's going to be two in October." She could talk about Nova all day. "How about Tiger? How did you two meet?" she asked.── ❋ ──

Alan would nod lightly. That reason made sense to him. Transfiguration involved a lot of practice and time, one had to really study it and be in control at all times to cast a spell. Once it was cast however, the effect was done and it was based on skill how successful one was. "Th-There are also some pretty scary stories, you know? Th-That some people got st-stuck between a human and animal form for th-the rest of their life," he would tell her as a matter of fact. He was not quite spooked by it, because he would never have to face such issues. All transformations he could do were revocable. "Imagine getting stuck as half fish, th-then you couldn't really live on land or sea!" he would add with a light shudder. Perhaps it was good that he wouldn't have to deal with the temptation of becoming a animagus; being a metamorphmagus was odd enough.
"Oh, I'm actually quite good in t-transfiguration so if you ever need help, I could study with you?" he would offer with a kind smile, tilting his head slightly to gaze at her. When she told him about her owl, his smile only grew as did the green of his eyes as if they were hit by sunlight. "That's amazing, she is an old lady th-then!" he exclaimed. Well not really obviously but she was about twice the age of Tiger which would make her the feline's elder. "We met in London, in Diagon Alley to be exact. It was about a year ago during the easter break," he would let her know with a grin.

── ❋ ──𝓐madea nodded as @Alan Vanes spoke. She couldn't imagine what it would be like to get stuck between forms while being an Animagus. It was like the idea of splinching when Apparating...something that sounded so unnatural and painful to Amadea that she had no interest in it. "That would be terrible..." she said, thinking about the logistics of someone being half fish and half-human. Depending on which was which, the person would either have to live in the water with human legs (since fish required water to breathe) or they would be stuck with a fishtail on land, which seemed infinitely more difficult. No, Amadea was quite satisfied being fully human. "Thinking about that makes me glad I'm fully a human," she said, shaking her head. Maybe it was because she was a Muggle born and wasn't used to all of the half breeds that lived in the wizarding world, but something about not fully being human made Amadea a little uncomfortable. She had plenty of friends who weren't human, her best friend Cecily was a Metamorphmagus, but still the idea of literally not being human was weird to her. Not a bad weird. Just. Weird.
"Oh, I would appreciate that!" Amadea said with a smile as Alan offered to help her in Transfiguration if she ever needed it. She wasn't sure what exactly it was about the class, but the work was twice as difficult for her as any other class and she felt like she had to spend the most time on the assignments. It wasn't exactly like she hated Transfiguration, in fact she really did enjoy the class, but she didn't enjoy that it was so difficult for her. "Aww that's sweet," Amadea added as Alan told her about Tiger. It was a wonderful thing, having a pet. It was like a built in best friend.── ❋ ──

Alan would nod slightly in agreement. The idea of being stuck in a transformation that was not reversible sounded terrifying. With his abilities the young metamorph could at least always be certain that he would turn back to his normal self when he was asleep. So the face he saw in the morning when he looked into the mirror, he could always be certain that it was his face rather than an illusion. "Yeah..." he whispered as his gaze drifted into the distance. He knew that being a metamorph still made him a full human, so he was technically still human but he knew that Amadea would see it different. She was a normal human and for those who were normal his abilities could be unsettling.
"Yeah, I'm glad th-that I met Tiger," he would let her know with a soft smile and he truly meant it. The once little kitten truly had made a great impact on his life. It was like having a friend wherever you went and it hardly got boring at the big mansion anymore when he was home alone. He could simply spend the day playing with Tiger and letting the feline explore the garden or going on walks. Now that he was a certain age and in control of his basic emotions, he was even allowed to leave on walks in the neighboring landscapes.

A Furry Friend
── ❋ ──𝓐madea nodded along to their conversation, halfway lost in thought about the topics they were talking about. The whole half human half fish thing was still stuck in her mind and it really made her happy that she didn't have to think about ever going through that (unless there was some unknown hex that someone could hit her with that would cause her to become half fish but she hoped that it didn't exist).
Amadea smiled as @Alan Vanes talked about Tiger; she could tell that the bond between the two was very tight, as was any bond between a pet and their owner, and she was happy that the two had found each other. Though others might look at her weirdly for saying that she had that bond with an owl rather than a furrier and friendlier animal like a cat, Amadea knew the way Alan felt about Tiger because she had the same bond with Nova. Even though Nova didn't accompany her everywhere like Amadea saw many cats doing with their owners, she had this uncanny ability to understand almost everything Amadea said to her. Nova might not be old, but she was certainly wise.
At this point, the conversation seemed to be coming to a natural end and Amadea still needed to finish her walk. Now that Tiger was happily reunited with Alan and the two had talked a little, Amadea felt like it wouldn't be quite as awkward to walk away now. Plus, Alan probably had things that he wanted to be doing as well. "It was really nice to meet you and Tiger," Amadea said. "I'll have to take you up on that offer to help with Transfiguration sometime," she added. Transfiguration would never come easily to the Hufflepuff. "Anyway, I hope you have a great day," she said, unsure if she should say anything more before walking away. With one last smile, Amadea waved toward the cat and then went back on her way, continuing the walk that she had originally set out to take.

Finished"See you around, Amadea!", he would greet the girl before she left, giving her a light wave before he would drop back into the grass, laying on the ground as he watched Tiger climb onto his chest and curl up into a ball of fur. With a chuckle Alan would begin to pat him as his gaze was directed towards the sky, watching fluffy clouds pass by over the horizon possibly leading to rain eventually. Alan would spend some more time outside, just relaxing below the soft sun of a lightly cloudy day. It was relaxing and in a way it recharged his energy in a very subtle way. He knew that he still had some homework to do but he could do that after dinner when he was back in his room as there was not really a rush for that; not for him at least. He wanted to enjoy the moment for now. A soft sigh escaped his lip and he was not exactly sure how much time he had just spend there, nearly falling asleep a few times, before he took his stuff and headed back inside of he castle. It certainly had been a nice afternoon and he met someone new. Tiger would follow Alan back inside, knowing that the third year would get him some food from the dinner table.
