Leonard nodded as Clifton explained that it wouldn't hurt for them. At least, not as much as it hurt for a prefect's fist being curled around the things. It wasn't as though they didn't care for the animals, which was something he mulled over much more than he should've. As in, really much more than he should've. If he hadn't been worrying so much about the creatures' wellbeing, then he might have been able to change the incredibly poor handwriting he'd used. The poor professors who had to read it must've had to consult a doctor for reading.
Heretofore? He was impressed. The incorrect usage could be ignored for then, it was much more than what he expected from most of his partners in conversation.
"Indeed, Master Clifton, anonymity is something we must keep until the end. Or until we make a mistake. Whichever comes first," he chimed in, unsure whether he was joking or not. "And, unknowingly? How do we get someone to join in unknowingly?"
"You know what, no matter," he said. It was a subject for another day. "There would be many more people in the library, surely, but it might be hard to find a place where we can fit in SOATOP. I'll need to check it out every day to try and find one. There's also the librarian to be worried about. I swear to Merlin she actually lives there. There are also a few problems with the bathroom. We can only get access to the boys' ones, and that's only in our houses. We'd be all separated unless we find a way to get all of us into one without anybody in the lavatories actually...doing their business. Unless you're thinking of here," he gestured around. "Then maybe it could work."

There were a few problems with that as well. If they were to do it here what's the chance that people would actually walk in here. It wasn't exactly a very nice place.. Partly why it had been picked for the meetup. For who would ever want to be here? Maybe to come alone if there was no other place you could go, but really, was it worth all that? Even one's dormitory would be better than this. After all, the place did have a bit of dark history. Something Alec hadn't really yet looked into and something that he wasn't sure he should. Some things were better left unknown, leaving this truly riveting
[Surely, it was sort of fancy word..? Nothing like Heretofore, of course..]

subject up in the air. Not for long of course when Alec got down to thinking about it.. It only made him want to know more. Surely not a completely impulsive move with how thought-provoking it was but, somewhere on the scale. Alec's gaze was now on the cracked mirror and rusty sinks, completely oblivious to the two conversing in front of him. It was funny, Alec could focus on things but it was always the stuff in that moment that he needed to focus on that he had trouble with. And he'd most likely regret not paying attention later.

Because surely this abandoned/not sore of abandoned place wasn't as important as what the three were working on right now, no matter how interesting this place was.. Or how interesting all of Hogwarts was, Alec always found it crazy to think that so many other people had gone to Hogwarts before him. Or that the one and only Harry Potter had gone to Hogwarts here.. Like he was walking in these hallways here. Of course their were some things better left not talked about. Like the whole Potter case.. That was a debate Alec did not need to start up at the moment.
[He's very clearly innocent, everybody knows he'd never actually kill anybody unless he had to do so.]

Soon enough Alec was brought out of his thoughts. The two still seemed to be chatting on just fine, so Alec assumed they hadn't noticed Alec barely paying attention. By now he honestly had no idea what the two were talking about, but Alec decided to just not interrupt and instead just nod and listen as if it's what he'd been doing the whole time.

"I vote the library," Clifton said. "I think it will be the most fun since it's where people will least expect it. And there will be more students there. Some kids might need a wake up call anyways." Clifton knew he usually did, what with how many late nights he'd had with friends.

"And even if there's not room to spell SOATOP right now, I'm sure we could make room. We could move a few tables and chairs around like we're doing a group study session or something. That might clear up some space on the floor."

"But you have a good point about the librarian..." Clifton nodded. Then frowned in thought. "If we could just find a few minutes when she's busy on lunch or helping other students, we could at least get the glue down."

"After that, I don't think it would matter too much. With twenty-something pgymies on the loose, I think that should stir up enough chaos and distraction for us to get away without getting in trouble. She'd probably be more worried about restoring order to her library than trying to catch us. At least for the first twenty minutes or so."

By now, Clifton was grinning. "Alright. If you're both on board, I think we have a gameplan: Leo, you get the tape or the glue for 'your cousin's birthday'. I'll figure out a way to get the pgymies, and Alec you can scout out the library and clear a spot for our signature when it's time. Did I miss anything?"

The library was one of the stricter places in Hogwarts with all the rules there you'd expect that nobody would want to spend their time there. But you'd be much more than mistaken, Alec preferred the library when he needed to get away from all the rowdyness of the gryffindor common room. It was a lot, even if you were the kid whose mind tends to drift away from the real world every so often. He felt a bit bad for planning to disturb the peace of the library.

But maybe in the end it'd give everybody a little break from their studying just to watch this all go down? Surely there were people that would end up finding this whole SOATOP thing cool. This reminded Alec, they also needed to come up with a silly version for what the letters could mean as well.. Maybe dropping a random word for what the letters could mean every so often, but don't actually give it away. SOATOP is more of a technical term at the moment, anyway. Now back to the important measures of this, this was something they probably could get into trouble for.

The whole howler thing was barely traceable back to the original source, but now they truly were stepping into hot water with this. And Alec was a bit nervous, but even throughout that he was more than excited as well. An odd mix of feelings, but something nonetheless. "That works.. we should come up with crazy replacements for the words we use for SOATOP though, something that you think about and wonder why anybody would think of these combination of words in general. Daft, I know, but might add something special to it " Alec suggested with a small shrug.

This all was really coming together. It was also nice to know Alec had some sort of friends. He always thought he'd be that kid who people thought of as weird and just avoided.. He always thought his stutter would be his downfall. Even when he'd been working on it recently and for the most part was actually gone, and he was proud of the progress so far made. Back to focusing on the important things at hand right now. No more odd 'deep' thoughts. "We'll just have to get everything than. It u-um.." Alec paused losing his train of thought as his eyes lingered on the old faucets for the sink, only seconds later getting back to what he was saying "-shouldn't be too hard, but we are going to have to be quick while doing this one. It's also probably a good idea in the meantime to practice surprised and shocked expressions. I know I didn't do very well at acting surprised last time.." Alec said mumbling the last part.

He usually had it down to a tea but maybe with pranks like these it was almost too good to not smile smugly about.
