A Giant Sip
Ileen didn't want to bother the boy, so she just shrugged when he did not go into the subject any further. The picture of the tea-lake still in her mind, she frowned with a smile. Maybe, something with fruit? Or herbs? Well, it didn’t matter anyway. Basically, it was none of her business either. She gave the boy a reserved smile to show that she did not hold it against him if he did not want to talk about it further.
When Alan explained that tea might be toxic for cats, Ileen listened to him with a serious expression on her face. Although, as already mentioned, she had had cats herself for a long time, she had not known that. Her parents had always made sure that the animals had been given nothing to eat or drink except the food they were supposed to eat. But she would never have come up with the idea of giving tea to her cat anyways.
Now that she thought about it, she probably wouldn't let her pet out of her sight at Hogwarts for a second. Who knew the stupid ideas her classmates had? Some weren't known for their ingenuity - or common sense.
Ileen frowned again and gave Alan a half smile. “A, I see. Well…” She stroked a tangled strand of her long brown hair from her eyes and curled her lips into a half smile. “Who are your friends? I mean, maybe I know them. But I wouldn’t count on that, though.” She liked Alan more immediately. Apparently, he didn't stick to the house cliché.
But when the Hufflepuff girl took up the subject again and threw around assertions, Ileen narrowed her eyes irritated. How dared she just make assumptions like that? How rude! “I think sticking to house stereotyping is stupid.” Completely ignoring the fact that the other girl called her nice, she glanced at her in disbelief. She didn’t say anything so far. That was just a lame excuse to soften up her words. “And why,” she continued slowly and gave May a cool look. “would you think that I am ashamed?”
When the other girl continued to mock her by pointing out that the craft was probably not that difficult to make, Ileen was about to take the teapot and pour the contents over May's head. She already did regret taking a seat at this table. “Well, I guess, I will be fine. Thank you.”
As soon as the house elf had delivered the required ingredients, Ileen would thank her and grab her stuff. She was a bit sorry about that situation, since the boy seemed to be nice and she had enjoyed his company. But if she wouldn’t leave no she would probably do something she would regret for sure – worse than taking a seat. She turned to Alan and tiger and gave them a short and tense smile. “It was nice to meet you. Your teabag looks amazing.”
Then she would turn around and look for a place where she could start her work without being insulted.

May looked at Ileen as she talked about houses. Well, May didn't actually think houses were important, but it seemed like Ileen didn't like the house she had been sorted into. May thought that houses were where you belonged, and that they sorted students into these so that they could meet others with the same qualities. May shrugged but didn't say anything as she did her dolphin. When she finished, she poured hot water in a mug and a very beautiful effect was made into the mug. The butterfly flower pea tea was now completely blue, and you could even see the dolphin as thought it was actually swimming in the water.
Satisfied with her result, May smiled at Alan and Ileen, despise what had happened, and let the mug aside. "I don't think houses are bad. They are more- fun than anything that you would think of. Plus, you can interact with other houses and make friends. It doesn't necessarily have to be Slytherin." May's voice was calm, almost a whisper, because she didn't want Ileen or Alan to feel bad about her own thoughts about Hogwarts, or what they were talking anyways. The mere thought of having to make a fight about such a conversation was pushing any other thing out of her mind. She looked at Alan and shrugged when Ileen left, and was ready to take her own leave. "Well, Alan. It was nice seeing you again. You're getting better...you know, less shy." she picked up her tea and things and went back to the common room.

Alan would make a few more tea bags, slowly getting in the routine so that by the end of their discussions he had a bunch of squid tea bags ready to be used. The little container that previously held the tea was now being used as a container for the tea bags itself and Alan firmly closed the lid so that he would not use his pretty master piece. Perhaps he could send two of them to his parents, one for his mother and another one for his father.
Gathering his belongings, the third year would nod towards @May Moonstar with a light smile, hoping that this tension between @Ileen Knight and the other girl would not stay for much longer and he got up to leave as well. There was not much he still had to do here so he might as well leave together with Ileen who seemed to be walking into the same direction he intended to leave to. He had no idea what May meant by calling him shy but he was no one to fight the statement either as he supposed it had to do with how they met in the library.
As he caught up with Ileen he would thank her for the compliment on his tea bags and bid her a good day as their ways parted within the castle walls. Tiger would be following right behind him.
Alan out, Thread finished.
