"Ohhh," Alan hummed in realization when the Hufflepuff mentioned how his family was all muggle. That would make Aaron a muggle born! It was a simple realization with not much thought behind it. Muggles in itself were interesting as well and Alan had been able to learn a lot about them thanks to some of his friends being raised under muggle circumstances up until their eleventh birthday. "I th-think th-they do, y-yeah. M-My parents d-don't really have house elves th-though... th-they just t-temporarily e-employ th-them sometimes", he explained to the other kid with a light shrug and a crooked smile.
He would snort in amusement when Aaron would comment on Tiger's appearance and shook his head in a mix of disbelief and amusement. The next question made a smile tug at his lips again as his eyes softened. "Yeahhhh~,"he would say with a sigh, "F-For about a y-year n-now." He would glance at Aaron before he focused back on the trail back to the castle, which was slowly getting closer the further they walked into its direction. Alan had enjoyed this small encounter a lot and was happy that he was invited to the game so that he could cheer on the badger for his first Quidditch game later. He would cross his fingers for him and wondered who he would be playing against since he had forgot to ask earlier. But he just assumed he would find out later about that little detail.

Hm.. so house-elves are common for wizards. Aaron thought that maybe he should research the creatures more, or maybe try to befriend one so he could understand their purpose better. The latter seemed like a better approach because it didn't involve having to read.
"A year, huh?" Aaron looked at the cat again, wondering if that meant he was a year old, or maybe Alan had adopted him when he was already grown? Either way, it was cool that Alan had him for so long. The upperclassmen was clearly a responsible person, and someone Aaron respected already considering he was older and seemed really kind. Plus, if he was friends with Willow, he must be a good person!
"I dunno if I could handle a pet," Aaron admitted after they had been walking for a little. "I mean, they're really cool, but I think I'd be practicing flying way too much to bond with it.. I guess unless it was an owl. 'Cause then he could fly with me," as he spoke, the idea of a flying companion started to grow on him. That'd be really cool!
They were nearing the castle now, almost time to part ways. "It was nice running into you. I'll see you at the match, okay?" Aaron said, offering one last smile before dashing ahead and into the castle. He turned towards the Hufflepuff common rooms and headed down the hallway in that direction.
