Althea felt her blush darken when Leonard smiled. He looked rather proud of himself for making her whine. Sheregretted giving the boy some results that he obviously wanted. She also realised that she called the boy 'Dumbo', that cute elephant that she was quite fond of. She apologised silently to the elephant in her mind.
“Oh, god, periwinkle? I’m so scared,” Leonard said, his tone sounding of fake fright, “Besides, sometimes apologising isn’t enough. And we seem to have different meanings of disrespect that we’re using. I’m using the correct one, while you’re using the one for nitwits.” If Althea didn't feel insulted earlier, she felt insulted now.
"S-Since when were you correct? I am not an nitwit either," Althea frowned.
“Actually, I do agree with one thing you said. That, just because somebody knows colours, it doesn’t mean they’re smart. I mean, you’re living proof of that," Leonard chuckled. Althea wanted to punch him at this point. She was totally two times smarter than this prat, but he was obviously ten times better at retorts and stuff. She wanted to raise the white flag of surrender and bolt at the moment, and sadly, her five-year-old mind wanted to crush Leonard's pride.
"E-Everyone is entitled to be dumb, you are absuing the privilege," Althea shot back, "Beisdes, Mother says stupidity is contagious."

Oh, Merlin, this was beautiful. She was stuttering. One of the hardest subjects he’d ever had to insult successfully, and she was stuttering. Leonard had always thought he’d make a good villain, whether real or on the bright screens of cinemas. Would this help his resume?
“E-everyone is entitled to be dumb, you’re abusing the privilege,” the girl continued, mostly in vain. He was going to win this, he’d bet his book on it. “Besides, Mother says stupidity is contagious.”
“Everyone is entitled to be dumb, and I’m the one who’s abusing the privilege? Y’know, I think I heard that somewhere...oh, I remember now. My cousins. Who are two and three years old. You’ve the brain of my baby cousins, smaller, even. At least they’ve got self respect.”
“And if stupidity’s contagious,” he stepped back once, exaggerating the movement greatly. “I’m not catching it from you, no way.”
And a mother? Brilliant. Parents were now involved. If he could just stall until Althea’s unfortunate mother arrived and saw her causing trouble (because, really, if she’d just played and ran around like a normal child did on the playground, none of this would’ve needed to happen), he was golden.
Challenges really were fun.

“Everyone is entitled to be dumb, and I’m the one who’s abusing the privilege? Y’know, I think I heard that somewhere...oh, I remember now. My cousins. Who are two and three years old. You’ve the brain of my baby cousins, smaller, even. At least they’ve got self respect," Leonard said. Althea was sure this was called harassment. She just simply wanted to come and get out of this playground, but she had to bump into this ignorant prat of a boy. She regretted everything.
"If you must know, human brains can't be small. Size doesn't matter, stupid," Althea stated, "Besides, I bet you lost all your self-respect years ago, so you are one to talk, meanie."
“And if stupidity’s contagious,” Leonard stepped back with great exaggeration on the step, “I’m not catching it from you, no way.” Althea snapped right then and there. She had quite enough of Leonard's nonsense.
Althea stepped forward and wrung the boy by the collar. "Listen here, you tosser. I had it with you-"
Suddenly, she was cut off by an abrupt tug of her right arm. She froze. Looking back with dread, she saw her mother. Her mother stood behind her with a death grip on her arm, glowering at her. She was dead meat. Deciding that punching Leonard now was a lost cause, she released the boy with a semi-rough shove, glaring daggers at the boy.
"Sorry about her, boy. Hurry off and play. I'll make sure to remind her of her much-needed manners," Althea's mother told Leonard with a tight smile, grip still tight on her daughter's arm. Althea winced, the grip uncomfortable. Then, her mother dragged her away, irritation radiating off of her.
Althea grumbled the only few curse words she knew under her breath as she was tugged away from the playground, making a mental note to punch Leonard one day for getting her into trouble.
(Althea has left the thread. RP end.)
