Starting A New Journey
"Yeah, but it's not so bad when you have a such good view," Gayle's comment made her negative thoughts about flying pause.
That was true. Despite her hesitance towards being up so high, the views from up there are bound to be beautiful. If she went up high enough, she could probably even see where the Forbidden Forest started and ended. The idea of that possibility reassured Isadora that flying might not be completely terrible.
"Yea, you're right. The view is probably amazing from up high. We would get to see a lot more of the grounds" Isadora had said, confidence returning to her voice a bit.
When Gayle began speaking about thinking of other things besides her nerves, Isadora listened intently. She should be trying to think of other things besides her nervousness at the changes happening, this was true, although it could be easier said than done sometimes. She was more than happy for any distractions to help her with this. She listened as Gayle continued.
"Me? I just can't wait to be sorted, honestly. I'm not really sure which House I'll be placed; everyone in my family is so... different, so it's hard to imagine."
Oh yea! Sorting. That was something to look forward to! Isadora hadn't learned much about the houses beyond the house her parents were in and a few descriptors of the others. Both her father and her birth mother had been Slytherins. She had been told that people in Slytherin tended to be more ambitious, cunning, shrewd, and very good at self-preservation. Her birth mother definitely had the last one down, Isadora thought nonchalantly.
She wasn't sure if Slytherin would he the place for her though. She didn't think herself especially ambitious or cunning. Her self-preservation was also nearly non-existent if she thought about how many risks she used to take in the forest back home, following around potentially dangerous magical creatures just so she could study them. She wasn't sure about the other houses or where she might fit in best at the moment though.
"Well, which house do you think you would like to be in the most?" Isadora asked. Maybe Gayle knew more about the other houses than she did. She wondered if that is what she meant by different, were all of her family members in different houses? She wondered. She decided what better way than to ask.
"So were all of your family members in different houses, then?" She inquired.
