An Unlikely Friendship
Margo was confused. Why wouldn't Sean look at her? She hadn't insulted him, she hadn't ignored him. She couldn't recall doing anything remotely offensive... so why wouldn't he meet her gaze? He was still talking to her, of course, but maybe that was just what kind people did. Was he trying to discreetly escape from their conversation? If so, he had a lot to learn. He could have a giant scowl on his lips and Margo would still carry on talking. Nobody should be afraid to express themself, and she didn't want there to be some kind of misunderstanding. But perhaps Sean wasn't angry at all. Many people avoided other's gazes when they were embarrassed, and- was that a blush on his cheeks?. Margo internally patted herself on the back for her ingenuity. Now she just had to figure out why Sean would be embarrassed.@Sean Hearth
Unfortunately, this was where Margo was stuck. She'd made a fool out of herself in front of Sean just minutes ago splashing away from the giant squid. She was supposed to ooze confidence and he'd found her shrieking at a creature who liked being fed bread. Maybe he was just a sensitive guy, but no sensitive guy got embarrassed at nothing... Margo decided she'd just have to revisit the thought later.
"I think you'd be a good teacher." She said, cocking her head to the side slightly. "But an even better judge... In the Ministry, there's the Wizengamot which is like the jury for the most serious court cases. But any job in the Departement of Magical Law Enforcement would be cool. My mum works for the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. She's an Obliviator."
But now it was Margo's turn to speak of the future. She was ambitious, no doubt about it, but long term? The future was a long road and she couldn't possibly make it unique if she focused on all of it at once. She was very much a live-in-the-moment sort of person, and only let herself think beyond tomorrow in the safety of her four-poster. Visions of training dragons and learning the languages of the world flitted behind her eyelids as before she slipped into sleep each night, but did Sean really need to know that? Her dreams were whimsical and held much more hope than Margo liked to let the world see.
Finally reaching a conclusion, Margo spoke. "I don't know what I'd like to do for a profession, but I have a few things I'd like to achieve before I'm too old. Did you know that you can jump out of a flying machine with nothing but a sheet keeping you up? It's called skydiving." Margo's eyes glinted excitedly in the sun as a grin spread across her face.
A grin like a crocodile and a bob like a funny catfish
