The Rhythm of Fire PV Ruka Locked

Alan's frown deepened when Ruka spoke about his birthday or the absence of it. That did neither sounds right or fair to him if he was being honest and the third year was sad about that new discovery, even though he tried his hardest not to show it on his face, he could not help but have his the color of his eyes deepen into a darker green for a split second. "I'm sorry to hear that," the older Gryffindor muttered, his words being accompanied by that slight stutter of his as he spoke to the other kid. The apology was not meant as pity but more of a sentiment of empathy as Alan once again tried to grasp that world of Ruka that seemed so different than the one he grew up in.

As Ruka instructed him, Alan would glance around to find a place where he could comfortably sit down and settled for one of the corners of the Rehearsal Room as he sat down with his leg crossed and eyes watching the other kid eagerly to see the fire dance performance. Alan would nod slightly, not daring to reply to Ruka as he was scared to disturb his rhythm and cause him to drop the flames perhaps; start a fire like he once did a year ago. A shudder went through the third years body and whatever he relieved back then, he surely wanted to never fear for his life like that again. But for now his eyes were glued to the performance, his eyes big like the one of a child seeing a huge cotton candy as he couldn't avert his gaze even once during the performance. It was almost sad when Ruka would stop early and ask him how he liked it.

"It was amazing!", Alan would say as he got up with a smile curling his lips pleasantly. He would nod in response when Ruka would talk about juggling, looking quite encouraging. "I actually never juggled before," he admitted as he pushed back a strand of hair that had loosened himself in the process of standing up from the ground. His voice still carried the familiar stutter as he talked, but it had weakened and perhaps it had to do with the fact that Alan was practicing his speech patterns in private. "So I think you are really good at it!"
