Another Snooze Worthy Class
Percy never held any hard feelings towards muggles unlike several of his family members despite their ignorance. He supposed that if you aren't born around magic it can be a bit difficult to spot it, especially when magic is spoken about in fairy tales and told to be only in fairy tales. Some spells look like muggle things too, like the Periculum charm which Professor Pendrast says looks quite like a muggle device. Percy wondered what it's like to be a muggle just like how many muggles may wonder what it's like to have magic like in the fairy tales. How did they get by in life without magic or potions or anything like that? Did magical creatures just plain avoid them by somehow knowing they're muggles or what?
He grinned from reading of George's first bit of magic. 'That's fair, sometimes they might just ignore it I dunno.' Percy paused and wondered if he should tell George of what his first magical experience thing was. Why not? 'Mine wasn't as cool as yours, honestly. I fell off my roof and caught myself just a little off the ground. At least you got to get him with a branch.' How Percy would love to wack one of his brothers with a branch with a proper excuse.
George rolled his eyes at Percy's joke to which he just beamed. His joke was definitely funny, Percy knew it. He inherited his witty charm and indefinite humor from his older brother Theron who inherited it from who knows, both Percy's parents are quite uptight. 'I see you enjoyed the joke.'
Oh, he knew that. Well from the way he'd written about Aurors it seemed that he didn't have a clue that's all Aurors did. No judgement there. 'Oh yeah. The Amelia Bones case. My Dad worked that case a bit and stills talks about it at home sometimes, my oldest brother says he could've found out who did it but we all know he's just vain.' If highly trained Aurors and the entire Ministry couldn't find Amelia Bones then it's doubtful an under skilled sixteen year old narcissist could. 'It was a sad case. I think mainly because nobody could actually find out who got her.'
Percy was about to reply when he heard the booming noise of the Hogwarts bell. Just from pure habit he stood up and grabbed his quill, parchment and book but sat back down immediately after the professor cast a look to him. Since class was over, Percy spoke instead of wrote this. "G'bye George. See ya sometime else I think." Percy grinned and shoved his face into his book, prepared for detention issued by the professor.

Another Snooze Worthy Class
George snickered as he read Percy's comment, his quill at the ready for a reply.
'That sounds cool to me,' he wrote. 'Cooler than hitting the ground, at least.' The apparent envy for his first magical experience made George smile just a bit brighter, his face aglow with joy. It was quite a fun story to tell, although Sam - George's older brother - would always be a bit angry that magic had taken George's side in the argument over his own.
George was proud of it. The magic felt directed, and it made him stronger, even if he had only done it by accident. Now that he had it under his control, it felt like he could do anything. The Hufflepuff reached down and checked his pocket, feeling his wand, suddenly wishing he had an excuse to use it. Unfortunately that would need to wait for Charms.
Despite rolling his eyes, he had enjoyed the other boy's sense of humor, and was glad to have spent the class meeting him rather than studying the Gargoyle Strike again. 1911 was more than one hundred years ago. He understood that history repeats if you don't understand it, but he understood it quite well, so the lecture did not need repeating. Percy, however, was alive in 2020 and far more interesting to the young Hufflepuff.
'Your dad worked on it?' George said, leaning in to look at the paper as though he were speaking to it rather than the boy sitting right beside him. His father had worked on the bones case? That was living history, right here. Oh, to have wizarding parents - ones that could tell you all about the history of the world in ways the Muggles could never understand. George sighed wistfully. 'Can-'
The bell rang, shocking George into sitting upright and pretending he was paying attention. He packed his things up swiftly - having very few notes to offer Percy, since they had spent the whole class chatting rather than producing a second set. "I'll see you around sometime," he agreed. "And send me a letter if you need help with the homework, it's not so bad!"
With no intention of being reprimanded for talking out of turn, George hurried onward amid the other crowd of busy badgers and chatty cats as they filtered out of the class. That was one benefit of looking so average - it was difficult to pick you out of a crowd when all someone could see was brown hair and a yellow-trim robe.

With that, George is out, unless otherwise stopped.
