Whatever she had in mind, she didn't know how she got that far from the castle. Not a single student was in the vicinity. At least not that she could see. Only distant childish noises, which indicated joy hasn't yet left the world. The good thing about Hogwarts' grounds was that the castle was always in the direct sight, which was immensely helpful for those loving to wander around. Just in case she added a note to her mental notebook to check on some direction spell, which could show the way out if she'd ever get lost or disoriented.Participants:

The 19th of September, 2019
Late Afternoon
She stepped on a meadow and she could swear there could be no meadows around Hogwarts, but no, there it was. The distant noises died and the whole area smelled like motionlessness and deadly silence. It felt as if Meenauh stepped inside a dome, protected with silencing spells. She wondered whether she went too far and was trespassing into the Forbidden Forest or something. Just several metres from her, closer to the edge of the forest, among the big rocks scattered around, she saw a boy... rolling around meaninglessly. At least, it seemed like he wasn't following a certain path and was too deep in his thinking. The boy wasn't noticing Meenauh as well. She also couldn't use any different word rather than rolling.
The whole picture was at the same time very suspicious and desperately sorrowful. Meenauh was completely puzzled probably for the first or second time in her life. She made a few steps forward and said, a bit louder than usual:
"Oi! What are you doing here, Mister?"
Not to frighten the boy or provoke him to attack her.

Oliver walked along the trail by the lake, repeatedly exhaling as he trotted along. He was dieting these days, only eating the required meals a day. He was doing okay, every second day he caved in and devoured painful amounts. He was really struggling. Today however, he was taking a stroll just to get some more exercise in.
Oliver often came to this area, he would practice by the lake for hours on end. At the peak of his bullying treatment by Erin and others, he'd spend entire evenings out just shooting spells, practicing wand motions and focusing on becoming the strongest. Today he wasn't feeling up for that however, he was too down thinking about his weight. Oliver always believed that by high school he'd naturally lose all his chub. By the end of first year, he was certain it'd happen over summer. It didn't. He was only now getting the impression that he'd have to push the transformation himself.
Oliver walked slowly, looking down at the leaves that had begun carpeting the ground for Autumn. He wore a thick, navy, knit sweater and jeans. It was getting chillier these afternoons and although Oliver stayed warm in t-shirts till the depths of winter, he enjoyed an excuse to snuggle into a cozy sweater.
"Oi! What are you doing here, Mister?"
Oliver spun towards the girl immediately. What does she think she's doing calling me like that...
At first, Oliver thought it was a professor. She was too short and minuscule though. A bully? It had to be, why would a bully follow Oliver all this way out here? At this point, Oliver didn't try to comprehend his abusers tactics anymore. He looked around for where to run to, it was getting dark though and he was extremely slow so the chances of escape were slim. It wasn't rare that Oliver was chased into the dark only to be left outside for the night, too scared to venture out and try get back.
"Who are you? What do you want? I'm just walking, jeez," Oliver called back, taking a steep towards the Gryffindor. He remembered now as he spoke without a single stutter. There was no running, there was no bullying. He'd stick up for himself from now on. Also, Oliver had become a bit cheeky ever since befriending Erin. The two didn't hang out a huge amount but how she spoke was rubbing off on him.
Oliver pulled out his wand, holding it by his side.
"If you're here to pick on me, I... I won't let you!" he told Meenauh sternly. Oliver's trust in others had clearly diminished completely since starting Hogwarts.

The voice of the boy came back at her almost instantly, which she didn't expect. The boy was clearly nervous or annoyed. The first impression, or deduction result, revealed that the boy was clearly in the middle of something, probably forbidden. Was it some dark ritual she happened to meddle with? But the 'jeez' addition made it clear that he was just walking, indeed. Or that was a clever way of concealing the truth. Confusing. Why would he wander around that far from the castle? The sad aura broke in again, so she accepted he was just completely alone and he didn't have anywhere to go.
She didn't remember him in the classes, which excluded being a second year. A first-year would be still shocked from the arrival to Hogwarts, and he didn't look like a first-year, anyway. So he was older. A third-year? A fourth-year? Not making any friends throughout several years? Not a single person to stick around? Meenauh could feel something inside her tightening and almost breaking.
Meenauh backed up a little as she noticed the boy starting to slowly head towards her. In the corner of her eye, she noticed the wand being pulled out.
The next sentence of the boy made everything completely clear. And confirmed everything she thought before. Everything she even didn't have time to think about. She pulled out her wand as well, just in case.
"Oh... You think... You think I'm a bully? Why would I..." she was failing to finish her sentences as answers to unasked questions kept flowing into her head with every step she was taking farther from the boy.
Then she halted.
"I'm not here to pick on you. I don't think that would look like the behaviour of any at least slightly intelligent person. I am not a bully or anyone capable of hurting you," she showed her wand to the boy and then demonstratively sheathed it, "I was just wandering around deep in my thoughts. And I believe now you were doing the same."

Oliver huffed, cheeks filling before he nodded and put away his wand. He wasn't the type to be angry, in fact he couldn't even hold resentment for long while being beaten up. He looked at Meenauh, taking in the fact that she was a girl. Unfortunately, Oliver found her not very good looking. He was quite fussy with females however and tended to not even like girls his age or younger. He wasn't really much into girls at all though, never taking up any extra time to gawk at them. Oliver knew his chances were dead in the ground with even the grossest of the female species. It was a battle not worth fighting.
"Alright, then, stalker! What are you doing following me. Answers, please!" Oliver put his hands on his hips. However, as he pronounced the P in please, a drop of saliva flew from Oliver's mouth. It traveled surprisingly far and landed on Meenauh's collar area.
Oliver froze up as he watched it land. It was a little more than a speck but it shimmered in the afternoon sunset. "Uh, sorry," Oliver muttered, getting a little less confident now. He apologized in a quiet mumble, in a way that if Meenauh didn't notice, it wouldn't really be noticeable.
Oliver stood stronger and confident than usual. His chest was puffed up and he wasn't backing down. Not this school. Not this new, polished Oliver. He had seen what he was capable when he gave Erin the Legendary Forbidden Raging Star Finger of Justice. His secret technique to drive any bully off of him. Further so, with Erin by his side, he was sure that even if he lost to someone in a duel, Erin would just kick their butt afterwards. They were sort of best buddies like that. Or so Oliver liked to think.
"What house are you in even?" Oliver quizzed (assuming they're not in uniform after lesson hours). Her answer wouldn't really effect his current opinion of her much. He disliked Slytherins up until he befriended Erin.

It worked.
The boy put away his wand and calmed down. At least he seemed like he did. His speech, though, kept being prickly and somehow abrasive. She disliked the tone.
As the little drop came out from the boy's cavitas oris, Meenauh noticed it flying with just the corner of her eye. She would have definitely missed it if not the sun, which just for a fraction of second reflected itself in the drop. She closed her eyes as it landed on her, made a deep breath and pulled out her wand.
"Unfortunately, the answers store is closed today, but we have a neat heap of questions, prepared especially for you. Do you really think the world revolves around you?" with her eyes opened again she said without the slightest emphasis on the word which resembled round shapes, "What made you think you're worth following?"
The words came out sharp and a bit disorienting for herself as she Scourgified the recent result of the boy's slipshod actions.
She enjoyed the unexpected acquaintance regardless.
"And I give you a very special honour of guessing my house, young man, and let's see whether you paid any attention throughout the previous years," she stepped back to lean on a huge stone behind her and folded her arms.

Oliver raised a brow. He didn't like this girls tone, she was being rather condescending he felt. What right did she have to just call him out and then talk down to him. Oliver looked at her dead in the eye as she retorted with asking why Oliver was selfish.
"You were the one who asked me what I was up to! Surely I'm the one in focus right now," Oliver quieted up as he finished that last sentence. He didn't even understand what he was saying. Trying to upload a confident character while using his brain didn't really work too well. He was too insecure about looking strong and tough that it took from his thinking ability.
Worse yet, Meenauh had noticed his saliva. He watched her wash her top clean and looked away as she did. He pretended to be interested in the nature around for the small moment, as though coincidence that he'd miss the embarrassing sight. This humiliation was breaking Oliver's frail tough boy defense.
"And I give you a very special honour of guessing my house, young man, and let's see whether you paid any attention throughout the previous years."
How was Oliver to know? He only really knew a portion of the kids in his year, even then, he only knew a selection of girls from his year. He never befriended females and thus didn't bother even learning their names or remembering their faces. He definitely wouldn't remember many outside his year. Yet he could take a guess at her house and year from evidence given from the interaction so far. Oliver put a finger on his chin, completely separating from his menacing appearance. He looked at her feet then at her face as he thought hard. He couldn't help get deep into a good memory challenge. He wagged a finger with his reply," HUFFLEPUFF! You have- you just seem like a Hufflepuff. And you're a first year! You look too young to be any higher. Also your scourgify was pretty novice so definitely a first year," Oliver gave a chubby cheeked smile, confident in his guess.

The boy clearly tried to sound tougher than he was, though he failed at the end of each sentence.
"The one in what?" she repeated in her mind and felt something new inside her, something toxic. The boy did a very good job of swallowing the endings of whatever he was saying. But okay, she had this Ravenclaw person inside and probably that new fired-up hothead she revealed in herself during the duel. But this one was new. She felt the new tone, she felt the annoyance and arrogance. This was new.
And then the boy tried. Tried to guess her year and the house. She started to laugh after the house guess, like laughing in bursts, almost coughing by the time the boy explained why he chose the first year for her.
As the boy finished and she finished her laughing (several dozens of seconds passed between those two moments), she replied:
"Clearly your deductive skills prevent you from being a Ravenclaw," she started, "The house, okay, a Hufflepuff bully? That is brilliant, you should try a stand-up comedy, really. And the first year? Have you seen the first years during their first week? They wander around like being hit in the head with something heavy. And why would I specifically point at you paying attention throughout the previous years then?"
The picking on her spell was clearly misplaced, as a first-year couldn't learn that during the first week of their education.
"Look at that! He's judging your abilities. What a naughty boy!" the new voice kept instigating her like a snake. She reached into her bag to grab a spinner — a muggle device, which was quite popular among muggle kids. It was a fascinating toy, which Meenauh used for relaxation when she needed to clear her mind. She swung her arm and threw the spinner forward and up high.
"Accio spinner!" she drew the recognisable arch in the air and pointed at the spinner. In just several centimetres from the ground, the toy stopped falling and changed the direction towards Meenauh and in a second hit the palm of her hand and rested there.
"Give it another try, darling," she put the spinner back into her bag but kept the wand in her hand.
Why the hell did she sound so condescending? What was that new part of her personality? She didn't quite understand whether she liked it or not yet, so exploring it further was the only way to proceed.

Oliver's eyebrows furrowed as she spoke. God, she's annoying. Had she just called him over to be an irritant? Either way, Oliver was losing his patience with this girl. With a deep inhale as he tried to digest the amount of condescension coming his way.
Oliver looked at the girl dead in the eyes as she finished.
"You're not a Ravenclaw, I'd of seen you. And you don't strike me as clever," Oliver puffed up his cheeks as he braved a verbal jab. Although the boy himself was a goof yet a Ravenclaw. Although he was academic. His social smartness was lacking. He'd have better grades if he wasn't constantly getting his books stolen and thrown in fountains. Being an O grade student was something Oliver accepted as impossible in the barriers set around him by bullies.
"You're probably a Slytherin so, you're annoying enough to be one!" Oliver boldly stated.
"And if you're not a first year, then you must be a second year. Whatever you are, you're definitely below me!" Oliver huffed, folding his arms. He eyed her bag however, interested in the muggle contraption. The boy was a big fan of toys, he'd seen magic spinners before but they were different. This one seemed to need physical aid to spin, Oliver loved that. Toys that appeared magical but weren't at all. What a joy.
"Tell you what, I'll duel you for that spin toy you have!" Oliver offered. The air was already pretty tense at this point, he didn't even feel comfortable with this girl casting spells constantly and keeping her wand out. He placed a hand in his sleeve on his wand, held tightly by a strap, a dueling invention.
Oliver was pretty confident he could take this girl out. All the kid knew was to eat and cast spells.

"You're not Ravenclaw? Not that I'd want to instigate, but I wouldn't be able to just swallow that," the voice said again.
"Oh, shut up, you! In which reality is she an easily-offended hot-headed daredevil?" a familiar inner voice responded, which brightened Meenauh a bit.
And then the boy opened her eyes on everything. That new voice, that new snakish instigating voice sounded a lot like her... inner Slytherin. What were the other voices then? Oh, really?!
That was utterly disturbing. That sounded a lot like a huge mental issue. Meenauh made a few steps back with unpredicted blankness in her eyes, scanning through all the books about mental illnesses she read in the past if any.
"And you're going to leave it like that? Definitely below him?" the voice broke the maelstrom of thoughts and just couldn't let it go. She felt in that situation it was in charge.
"You'll what me?" she straightened up and answered Oliver, and giggled in the most unusual way, "Do you think I would break rules for you or for a toy?" she brought the spinner back from her pouch, "Why is it so important for you to be above? I understand that you could be underloved in the past as a little child, but that doesn't mean you have to be mean to people," she pierced the boy with her stare, "I am not a duelling type and I won't duel you for anything. I am willing to share. But, if you wish to demonstrate your superiority and supposed seniority, as you believe," she put the spinner onto her open palm and stretched the arm towards the boy, "Summon it."

Oliver furrowed a brow as he watched Meenauh. She seemed to be in a world of her own, going quiet, zoning out, randomly stepping back. Was this girl okay? Oliver assumed the best and took it he was misunderstanding her.
He tried to think how Erin would solve this current dilemma right now. Probably with a fist brawl. Honestly he felt he was five punches to late to be doing what Erin would have done.
Oliver looked at her, he could definitely take her. He had a weight advantage and she didn't seem that strong. In fact, Oliver believed he could completely take her out. He was pumping with energy now that he realized he'd be victorious if he started swinging.
Oliver, what has gotten into you?! We're not attacking this girl! Captain Redhot would not approve!
Oliver sighed, then stiffened as she spoke. Was she challenging him? God damn her, he never looked into charms, he focused primarily on DADA.
"I can tell you're not a dueling type, casting like that, I recommend you stick to your little charms. And no, keep your toy, I d-don't want it... I'm not a house elf, I won't be doing what you command anyway!" Oliver told, shaking his fist in the air, not in any particular direction. Notably his wand was for some reason in his clenched hand.
