I was going that way anyway ptDale Kurt Finished

Forward Dated to the 3rd of September 2019. A roleplay between Santario Martin and Dale Kurt.
Santario walked almost silently down the hall on the second floor taking her time as her piercing blue eyes scanned intensely over a piece of parchment held within her slender fingers. They were her notes from her Charm’s class that she had just finished, and she was going over them as she made her way to find a quiet place to do her homework. A lot of people would simply go to their common room and that was exactly why she tended to avoid it for homework. She typically enjoyed solitude when working on her homework and it’s not like she had any friends that she would rather hang out with instead of doing it. So, she might as well get it out of the way and the she could continue to explore the castle.

This was a rare day where she had her long raven hair down falling just to the middle of her back, but some of it was over her shoulder and cutting off one of her sightlines. Normally Santario would be far more careful and watchful of where she was walking, but it was so rare that she ever met anyone down this corridor that she felt safe preplanning the answers to her homework in her head. “Oh, I get it now all I have to do it describe that motion differently and it would make much more sense.” Her voice was soft like a falling feather lilting on a breeze as she spoke to herself. “Maybe the garden, I can find some solid ground there.” She mused to herself eyes still down on the parchment in her hands.

Dale quietly walked down the halls of the second floor, he didn't really have a destination in his head, he was just walking. He had never really taken nor had the time to just explore the grand castle that was Hogwarts. His first year was spent doing self-studying and that paid off quite a bit, he no longer struggled so much with his homework, in fact, he had already finished all of his homework for the day. So he decided to spend the day walking around looking at all the intricate designs on the wall. But he also wanted to find a new way to the library, the route he took his entire first year was a bit long, and had a bit too many people, he wanted to find a way with fewer people, and shorter walk time.

But in trying to do so, he got lost. Dale had no idea where he was, he was having a small panic attack in his head. Hogwarts was huge and Dale had no map to find his way back to his dorms. On top of already being very distracted with the mini panic attack going on in his head, his messy hair was also in his eyes, which blocked some of his vision. He was so distracted that he didn't see the girl silently walking the same hall as him, and accidentally ran right into her, they both hit the ground hard.

Santario was engrossed in her notes when suddenly, she felt the hard impact of a body colliding with hers. Since she was so unprepared, she didn’t stand a chance of keeping her balance and she fell backwards onto her backside. Her parchment went flying into the air and as she put her hands behind her to stop her head from hitting the ground it scattered some of the contents of her bookbag. “Ow!” She exclaimed with a frown her sharp blue eyes hardening with anger as she looked for the thing she ran into. When she realized she had run into a person her eyes went wide she couldn’t be angry at them she wasn’t looking where she was going. “I am so very sorry are you ok?! I was not looking where I was going.” She asked as she pushed herself to sit on her knees and untangled herself from her black and silver bag and her school robes. Even though she was a first year the way she worded things seemed so formal.

At this point she was more focused on making sure he was ok than she was on recovering her parchment, quill, ink bottle, and potion ingredients that had scattered themselves across the corridor. She could collect those later she first needed to make sure the boy she just plowed right into was okay first. For someone like her who focused so much on healing other people it did upset her to think that she might have harmed someone in her lack of common sense really upset her. The only people she would ever want to harm would be people who very much deserved it.

Dale felt his body run into another person. He was already very clumsy, and the combination of him ingrossed into his own thoughts and sudden of it all did not help. He had no chance of catching himself and fell face-first onto the hard ground. "Oh god." he said as he pulled himself up, his nose had taken the majority of the fall and felt like it was broken, but he hoped it wasn't, he had never been to the medical wing, and he never wanted to. He looked around to see the mess he had caused, potion ingredients, books, and the girl he had run into.

She seemed a bit mad a first, but almost immediately that anger became worry. "I-I'm fine, my n-nose just hurts a bit." He felt his nose to make sure it wasn't skewed to the left or to the right. "N-no it's my fault, I'm the o-one that ran into you." He felt terrible, he might've broken something in the girl's bag or caused damage to the books she was carrying. "Umm h-here, let me h-help you clean t-this up." He started to pick up all of the potion ingredients, books, and all the other things that fell out of the bag and gave it back to the girl.

He stated that he was fine which made her brows crease in a bit more concern because she saw him land face first and she too wanted to make sure his nose wasn’t broken. “I also wasn‘t paying attention I was reading my notes from Charms. It is equally my fault.” When he offered to help collect her things she would also work to gather everything up and get them back into her bag that way she had them before. The final thing she would collect would be her Charms notes and those would be rolled up and gently slid into her bag into a hard scroll case that was sewed into the bag. “Thank you for the help. Now you should really let me look at your nose so I can make sure it isn’t broken. If it is we should probably get you to the nurse.”

She looked over his face with just her eyes so far his nose didn’t appear broken but that didn’t mean anything she would need to touch it to be completely sure. “My father is really clumsy and breaks his nose at least once every other week so I have a lot of experience. Just stay still and let me take a look… It may be a bit tender when I touch it though.” If he allowed her to take a closer look at his nose she would move her slender fingers to his face taking each index finger and applying slight pressure feeling for any movement that shouldn’t be there or worse a chunk missing or a crack. The pain that he would expect to feel he would notice wasn’t nearly as bad as it would have been if anyone else had done it. It seemed like she had just the gentle touch required for such work.

Dale was relieved that the girl's belongings didn't seem to be broken in any way, and the girl her self was also unharmed. In fact, the girl seemed more concerned about his well being more than anything. She asked him if she would allow him to check his nose, he allowed it, if not more than to put the girl at ease. He hoped it wouldn't require a trip to the nurse."Umm, s-sure." he said to the girl. He really hoped it was not broken.

The girl herself seemed very mature, at first he thought she was a first-year, but she seemed like a second-year or maybe even a third-year. She seemed even more mature than himself. She also seemed to have a great deal of medical knowledge, and she seemed very kind. All of this had made him almost forget about the fact that he was very lost, but he didn't have a panic attack this time, he hoped the girl also wasn't lost, because he hoped to get directions to the dorms or maybe the library, the was from Slytherin he could tell by the uniform. So maybe she could guide him to the place he needed to go, "Umm, I-if you don't mind me asking, c-can I ask where you a-are going?"

“You will be happy to know you didn’t break it, but you might have some swelling and bruising. There is a potion that can remove the bruise if you wanted to go that route but unless you feel too much pressure in your face or are having trouble breathing through your nose it really isn’t necessary.” She would stop touching him and stand up extending her hand to him to help him up as well if he needed it. “Thank you for helping me.” She would give a soft smile before pulling the strap of her bag back over her shoulder.

He then asked her where she was going and that was quite the question, she had not really made up her mind to be honest. “Well I hadn’t quite made up my mind on that yet. I was looking for a quiet and uncrowded place to do my homework so I was thinking about heading out to the garden or something maybe seeing if there was a nice little corner in the library that I could occupy.” She gasped. “Oh goodness forgive my manners! My name is Santario. First, I almost run you over and then I forget to introduce myself.” She would shake her head slightly at herself. Her grandmother would have scolded her for having even stood up before introducing herself. She was a very strict woman, loving, but still strict about proper etiquette.

‘Don’t let your awkwardness drive away a possible friend' She thought to herself. She had some small practice socializing with that second year girl on her train ride in and then a Hufflepuff boy right here in this same corridor but it wasn’t like she was an expert or even comfortable with it yet. However, if she wanted to be a potions master and work at St. Mungos she would need to learn how and she would need to be good at it.

Dale was happy he hadn't broken anything, "I-I'm happy to know I haven't broken anything, I think ill go down the potion route, I don't bruises. " He said to the girl, he could brew the potion himself, but he would probably have to buy the ingredients, or he could go foraging for them. He smiled kindly at the girl and said "W-Well thank you so much for helping me out." With the girl's help he got up and on his feet.

"My name is Santario. First, I almost run you over and then I forget to introduce myself.” He chuckled a bit at when she introduced herself, "My name is Dale, Dale Kurt, and don't worry, we both ran over each other." His stutter had gone away and he managed to calm himself down, for reasons unknown to Dale, every time he met a new person, he started to stutter and get nervous, but after 5 minutes it always goes away, it was quite strange.

"Well if you're going to the library, do you mind if I come along, I need to do some reading and I'm also lost, to be honest." He said as he let out a small chuckle, typical Dale having to ask an underclassman for direction to one of his favorite places. But he hadn't had a lot of social interactions this year, so it would be nice to maybe make a new friend.

So sorry for the short post.

“You’re are most welcome” She replied to his thanks. She had noted his stuttering before, but she was not one to point those things out. She could be awkward herself and it was bad manners to point out other people’s awkward social things. Now that his stutter was gone she figured it might have just been nerves or maybe he had just been rattled from their collision. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Dale.” She would give a small smile before adjusting her bag to make it more comfortable on her left shoulder.

“Of course you can come a long. I had actually arrived at Hogwarts on the 15th of July during the summer camp so that I could explore the castle. I spent about a solid month just exploring.” Getting lost was something that would personally embarrass her a lot so she made sure that she would not get lost ever. “Getting to the library from here is actually quick. If we cross this courtyard on the diagonal and we take those stairs down there it will put us in the same corridor as the library entrance.” She really hoped there would be very little people there or at least something quite and a bit isolated. Either way she started to walk in the direction of the stairs on the other side of the courtyard.

"Thank you." Dale replied to the girl. She seemed to her way around Hogwarts. Dale remembered trying to get around the castle his first year. He got lost so many times, and just had to wander around hoping to end up in a place he knew while having a panic attack. "It's also a pleasure to meet you Santario." He said to the girl while offering a kind smile. He quickly dusted his shirt off with his hands and readjusted his tie.

"Sadly, I didn't have time to explore Hogwarts my first year. So I barely know my way around here." Dale chuckled a bit, he had been at Hogwarts for a full year and still needed help. He decided he would try to learn the school layout this year, it was getting a bit annoying to be constantly lost.

He followed Santario to the stairs, making sure to make mental notes on where they were going so if he got lost again he would at least know how to get to the library from the corridors. He decided to try to make conversation with the girl, she seemed very nice and also smart. He was still impressed with her medical know-how. "So, what homework are you working on?" Dale asked the girl, "Umm, I can try to help you if you need it." Dale had always wanted to help someone out with studying, but last year he was the one who needed help. He had studied a lot over the summer, so he was confident that he could help the girl if she needed help that is.
