Hogwarts Explorers Club-First Meeting!
This thread is only for club members! Please have fun and follow the story line!
Members:
The day was usually warm for the week, the time of day. He sniffed the air aggressively, taking in the scent of the freshly cut grass, the groundskeeper was doing their job. There was also the scent of the water, slightly salty, but the perfect mix of nature, and seaweed. "Perfect day!" he said to himself, the feeling of being a club leader overwhelming. He was excited, but still quite nervous to be held account of so, so many students. He gulped almost disgusted. This must have been how the new Professors felt at times, or their first day as well. But he wanted club this to be fun, he wanted it to symbolize freedom and adventure, hence the club's name. He then saw a group he supposed were the HEC club members, his kind coordinators in front. "Hello...Er, members! I'll let us all have a few minutes to socialize and chill at the water, and remember I said you could bring your swimwear-but firstly, my name is Donny, or you can always address me as anything except my, Er, full name." he loudly announced, still feeling quite awfully low to the soft ground, as he told the regulations to the group, some even more taller than he. "Well, any questions?" he said over the silent crowd. "I'm not trying to be, you know-a Professor, but I just want to get things straight before we begin!" he laughed, smiling and looking embarrassed down at his small feet....

Arc Perscivious could feel the wind caressing his face as he tried to focus on the club leader’s announcement. The guy looked…nervous? Well, this was the club’s first meeting. It was understandable to be nervous. But Donny had made a club of his own and quite a lot of young wizards and witches had agreed to follow him. He should be proud of himself!
The dark-haired boy raised his left hand and looked at everyone around him before speaking. “Good day, Professor Donnovan Perrywrinkle,” said Arc, intentionally trying to lighten the mood. He couldn't help not to chuckle at his own joke. “My name is Arc Perscivious. And first of all, I would like to thank you for creating the club and bringing us here today.” And the boy meant it too. This was the first club the lanky kid had joined and he was very interested in solving puzzles and finding mysteries.
“Secondly, I don’t have any questions.” Arc continued with a smile. “It's just that," he stopped for a second before continuing, "I’m not so sure ‘chilling’ in the water would be a great idea.”
There was no way in hell Arc would ‘chill’ in the lake. Not only he didn’t bring any swimwear to this occasion, he also didn’t want to catch a cold or something. It was certainly not because he was sort of ashamed of his pale, scrawny body, though. That would just be silly. He was not sure that it wasn’t against the rule as well. And also…
“I don’t think it is wise to disturb John, err, I mean the Giant Squid inside the lake.”
His brother, Andike Perscivious, had told him that John the Friendly Neighborhood Giant Squid was super nice, but Arc wouldn’t want to take any chances. And he also thought his brother’s naming sense was awful. He missed the big guy, though.

Donny grinned at his joke when the cool boy, Arc, mentioned about the giant squid. Apparently his brother had had experience with the very notorious squid, and if Donny could remember this he'd already had quite the encounter with it himself. In fact, maybe the squid would even respect him now, wand in pocket, mind focused in midday light. "Well...I don't control weather the squid comes around or not...Er, I hope our experience is good though!" Donny heartily said, his happy grin reading his mind fully. He did have some sort of a plan. "Well..Um, anyone else with a question? I- if not, if you'll look over there, near the docs, there is a familiar boat. And one we will all be venturing in today. SO, please don't let your sea sickness will take control of you!" he continued, standing roughly on the stiff boulder behind him to see over the lot everyone. "If anyone has a hard time seeing, please feel free to move in!" he added, trying to get in as much information as humanly possible for the first ever meeting. "So...er, all aboard!" he said, pulling the boat up as the chatter clatter of members cluttered around the boat.

River had gotten to the great lake that day, very excited for what was to come. She didn’t exactly know what that was, but she knew she’d get to meet some new people, and that for sure was something she was looking forward to. River’s day so far, had definitely not been the best, first, she had dropped all her supplies on her way to class, making her have to run the entire way not to be late. Then she could not, for her dear life, mannage to brew the potion in potions class. And to end it all, she had lost her homework for astronomy somewhere, probably when she dropped her things earlier. Now she could not think of a better way to turn her mood around, than meeting some people, and doing some fun stuff , trying to focus on something else.
As she got there, and saw the group she would be spending the day with, she could feel her mood lighet a little already. It looked like a nice group, she didn’t get any bad feeling from the atmosphere around them all.
River listened carefully as the boy, who apparently was the leader of the group, introduce himself. His name was Donny. He seemed like a nice guy, River thought. And he did also seem a little nervous, which she thought was kind of comforting to be honest.
A boy spoke up, making jokes, probably to break the slightly nervous ice that had been laying across the meeting so far. River chuckled slightly, the boys name was Arc, that’s a nice name, River thought, as she gave him a polite smile.
Donny mentioned swimwear, Swimming? In the lake...? River did not think that was something she would do. It was first of all, not entirely safe, and secondly, it was way to cold in her opinion.
River looked eagerly over to where the boat was located. Motion sickness had never been e big enemy of River, and she loved the water, this could actually be nice, she thought and smiled carfully as she headed for the boat.
As River aproached the boat, her way to familiar anxiety hit her, she turned to look at Donny, as she timidly said, «Hi, I’m River, and it’s really nice to meet you, but ehm... do you actually know how to sail the boat?», she looked at Donny with furrowed eyebrows. Her hands fiddling with the curls of her red hair, as she would do if she felt slightly nervous.

Ruka had decided to join Donny's club only after they had had their little late night adventure; It seemed like almost losing his life had really given him a taste for adventure.
He was among the first ones to arrive, dressed in a warm green hoodie under his Gryffindor robes and some loose black trousers that he'd already pulled up a bit over his ankles so he wouldn't step on them while walking.
He had also brought some bread for the squid - just in case - and a bag of new robes. He didn't have a swim suit but his previous experience had taught him to bring some spare clothes in case you got pulled into the water anyway.
Upon arriving he waved at Donny, grinning proudly at the sight of all the students who had decided to join his friend for this club. Donny had to be ecstatic albeit a bit nervous, which showed in the way he greeted the group. It was kind of lucky that one of the boys decided to break the ice a bit, which clearly lightened the tension and also seemed to make Donny feel a bit calmer.
Ruka just smiled and nodded at his friend encouragingly before moving next to the boy, Arc, with a nervous shuffle. "You called the squid John?" he asked with a little laugh. He watched as Donny reined in the boat, feeling strongly reminded of the night when they went to find sea creatures. He wondered if that was Donny's intention for their first meeting as well. Either way, with some newly learned spells and a change of clothes he felt prepared for whatever situation they were about to get themselves into.

Donny smiled, and laughed at Everyone worried, and positive responses. Sure, he knew how to control the boat, but maybe not the giant squid, John. "I do in fact know how!" he replied eagerly to River. "My grandpa showed my how just two summers ago. I'm pretty much a natural, but this boat has some slight enchantments, so it won't flip completely!" he said, remembering his encounter. Then he saw his best lad that he knew was eager to explore since their last run in with each other, and the squid. "Ruka! Glad you were able to make it!" he said, walking up to his friend merrily.
He saw that Ruka was holding a satchel of some sorts, probably with some sort of venturing supplies, or snacks. "What's that you go there?" he asked him, looking down into the satchel into what looked like some clothing, and a mysterious pastie. "I wouldn't be surprised if you brought a net or some extra weapons for the trip...though, I do think the squid is quite tired of dancing. I fixed that issue earlier!" he laughed, grabbing Ruka's shoulder in support for he was almost to tears with amusement. He saw that everyone was finally arriving, and he would soon have to instruct the lot onto the boat, which would be fairly easy as there wasn't too many, but he needed a second boat. He saw one over near an old birch tree, and knew that one of his coordinators would have to give a separate tour of the waters...

It was an interesting thought. Euphrasia Destiny Millie, a courageous, loud, outgoing Gryffindor, to be nervous going to a club she had signed up for. Like fate, Millie had found the club list, and found something about an 'Explorers club' intriguing. Something about exploring Hogwarts with a group of friends was exciting- no, thrilling to Millie. And besides, she loved meeting new people, and making friends.
However, the trip to the Great Lake wasn't as thrilling as Millie had hoped. It was nerve-wracking, and terrifying. The thought of having to isolate herself in a group of people, without knowing a single one of them. But Millie really did want to make new friend, and she desperately wanted to get along in a big group that she could really be known in.
Nearing the giant grounds, Millie nervously bit her lip. Her anxiety flung back at her like a sling-shot, and it hit her in the face. And, the anxiety hurt like she was getting hit with the killing curse. But like, six thousand times worst. The killing curse felt like nothing compared to the anxiety Millie would go through, and even worst, the anxiety she had already experienced.
Seeing a small gathering of people, Millie assumed it was the Explorers club, and she looked around for a Hufflepuff; the house the leader of the club was in. And let her violet-purple eyes settle when she found a boy sporting the mustard yellow robes. Merlin, Hufflepuff's had the ugliest robes. Instead of forcing her opinion on the robes, Millie walked up to the Hufflepuff boy with a great smile. His name was Donny.
"Hiya. I'm Millie, I wanted to introduce myself before we get started, and um-" Millie froze, not entirely sure how to voice her question, "Is this safe?"
Nothing about this idea seemed safe, but Millie was always up for adventure.

The sun was shining as Bastian made his way towards the great lake, casting reflections of light over the vast body of water. His eyes were focused on the lake as he approached the small group that had gathered before it, wondering just what they'd be doing here today. He couldn't say that he was used to being around large groups yet. The classes, sleeping in a dorm, even talking to other people his own age was new to him. This wasn't a bad thing, of course, people needed new experiences in order to truly live, at least he thought so anyway. At the same time, he couldn't help but feel some anticipation. Not so much due to the other people, more so the fact that he was dealing with so many new things at once.
Still, these people were here for the same reason as him. They wanted to explore the castle, discover new things. Before all of this, when he'd still been with father, he'd loved to explore the forests close to their home, spending time with the different plants and animals. Even now, in his new home, he'd been able to sneak off once or twice and have a look around the large grounds surrounding their manor. Now he was at Hogwarts, free to do as he pleased, he couldn't wait to see what the school and the magical world had in store for him. Hopefully, he'd found some like-minded students to do this with.
Reaching the group he listened as the leader of the group, a Hufflepuff boy named Donny, introduced himself and a few of the others around him followed suit."Hello everyone, my name's Bastian, it's nice to meet all of you". He paused for a moment, think over everything he'd heard so far before continuing."I'm not so sure about swimming, the lake seems rather deep, but a boat ride sounds lovely. Hopefully the squid, you said his name was John?" He nodded to the other Ravenclaw boy, Arc, before continuing. "Hopefully John will be able to join us today as well, I've been wanting to visit him for a while."

Donny felt a little overwhelmed with all of the willing questions and statements. It must have just been him that wanted to swim, so that was out of the question, and almost everyone was worried about his magical boating skills, and the infamous "John" the giant squid in the lake. He took in everyone else's curious statements, meanwhile waving in and gesturing everyone that was just joining the few. "Well, hello newcomers-Er, yes I have done my research-yes, it is perfectly safe-Yes, it may be cold, but this is by choice-" he was almost out of breath, all the questions, the responsibility was a bit much, couldn't the lot just have fun?
He looked at his friend Ruka, a bewildered smile upon his face through all of the mumble and jumble. "I really need everyone to show up-it's half past twelve O'clock noon and I need my coordinators to fix this jumble." he said, looking down once more at his magical watch. Meanwhile, the sun was becoming even brighter, so it should be warming up even more by now, just as his watch had planned, the sun pointing to three quarters past twelve. "Hey, everyone, please settle, Er down so we can gather up a group, and we should be starting soon!" he said over the chatting crowd...

Georgia hurried across the grounds, so excited about what the day would bring that she struggled to keep the spring out of her step. She'd been overjoyed when she'd found the parchment pinned to the notice board, advertising an Explorers' Club. It felt as though she had finally found her place in this new and confusing world of magic, and that she'd potentially found the people who would help her through it. The prospect had excited her so much that it had taken her too long to fall asleep the night before, and she'd overslept so much that she was worried she was going to be late. Georgia had dressed in a hurry, pulling her hair back into a messy ponytail, fit for exploration, and headed straight towards the lake without stopping for food.
As she drew closer, Georgia spotted a group of students standing near the edge of the lake. That had to be the Explorers' Club! She picked up speed, turning her hasty walk into a run as she headed over to them. As the distance between them shortened, she could see the tell-tale Hufflepuff robes that signified the group leader. She waved enthusiastically at them, hoping they'd catch sight of her.
"Hey!" she said, as she came to a stop by the group. Georgia took a moment to catch her breath, and continued, "Sorry, I thought I was running late... I'm Georgia! Or Gee. I'm looking forward to the tour! Hogwarts seems really cool!" Her face flushed red as she realised she was rambling. Rallying quickly, she added, "It's nice to meet you all!"
