Warrior Cats Clans (Alternate Universe)

BUT FIRSTLY, WHAT IS WARRIOR CATS?

Note: If you read warrior cats, you can skip this part and proceed to the next section!

Imagine Game of Thrones but entirely with wild alley cats, and that's basically Warrior Cats. It follows four rival groups of feral cats living in the woods who are constantly at each other's throats over territory, hunting rights, and ancient grudges. They have their own strict laws, warrior codes, and even a spiritual ghost religion where their dead ancestors send them creepy prophecies and omens. It all kicks off with this pampered house pet who dumps his cozy life to join the toughest clan, and from there it spirals into absolute chaos full of forbidden romances, brutal assassinations, massive forest battles, and heartbreaking betrayals. It's way more intense and dramatic than a series about talking cats has any right to be, and once you get hooked on the drama, it's literally impossible to stop reading!

THE CLANS
There's five - no, six clans in warrior cats. Thunderclan, Skyclan, Riverclan, Windclan, Shadowclan, and Starclan (Starclan is where the dead ancestors live, so it's not a living clan). Each clan has its own characteristics -- Thunderclan is a peaceful and respectful clan that houses all types of warriors -- the most powerful, and the weakest, so it naturally has the clan's best interests at heart. Skyclan was a newly found clan, and was given territory and is currently learning to become a clan again. Shadowclan is a proud and fierce clan, sneaky and protective of their territory (they are the first to take revenge and were once led by, ah, not-so-great leaders (eg. Tigerstar I and Pinestar). Riverclan warriors are strong swimmers who take great care of their clan, and are highly skilled at fishing. Windclan warriors are swift and light, proud of being closest to the Moonstone and the Moonpool, and claim that they are closest to Starclan since they sleep right under Silverpelt. Last but NOT (DEFINITELY NOT) least, Starclan are seen as all-knowing and are sacred to the clans. They house the spirits of the ancestors, who are no longer bothered by clan boundaries.

CODE OF THE CLANS
Original warrior code:

1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
3. Elders, queens, sick or injured cats, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.
4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
6. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires, or is exiled.
9. After the death, retirement, promotion (to a leader status), or exile of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
10. A Gathering of all five Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
12. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
13. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
16. Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the forest/lake. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.

Revised warrior code:

Each Clan must ensure that no other Clan falls. 2.Nevertheless, each Clan is proud and independent, with traditions that must always be respected. (reworded, formerly Rule 16)
3. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the code, or it is necessary for self-defense. (formerly Rule 14)

9. If a Clan member believes that their leader is no longer leading with honor and integrity, they can challenge them. Three-quarters of the Clan members, including their medicine cats, must agree. Their objections will then be presented to the leaders of the other Clans. If the other leaders agree, all medicine cats will request that StarClan remove the leader's remaining lives and give them to the deputy. These objections cannot be raised by the deputy.
10. A warrior or medicine cat may switch their allegiance from one Clan to another but must meet a set of conditions. The cat wishing to change Clans must perform a task of their intended Clan's choosing. If they succeed, it will be deemed StarClan's will that they change Clans, and their request will be granted.
