Brief Introduction
We'll be wrapping up gifts and writing cards for students of Hogwarts. The recipient is not decided yet-- we'll leave the gifts outdoors and wait for students passing by to pick up themselves.
Cassie doesn't realize it, yet another month has passed since their last activity in the library. After crossing out many dates on her calendar, the first Sunday of the new year has finally arrived. Cassie is just back from her Christmas holiday. She has been very busy shopping for small gifts, in order to prepare for this new volunteer activity.
For the first time in her life, Cassie feels like being Santa Claus. With a big bag with her, she heads towards the Great Hall-- she thought of arranging the activity in the small hall, but it's certainly not a pleasant experience to work for hours sitting on the floor. She enters the big room with hundreds of candles floating in the air.
After she sets her bag by the Slytherin table, she begins arranging their 'workshop' today. From her father, she learns that when producing things, assembly line work is much quicker than individual work. That's why she decides to separate the club members into four teams, depending on their own preferences. They can also swap teams freely during the activity.
On the very left, the Gryffindor table, is the gift-sorting team. In her latest owl to club members, she asked them to prepare some premade or handmade gifts, each not too big but delicate and creative. The gifts brought will be piled at the end of this first table. The task of the first team is to sort them into small piles, each to be put into one gift box. For example, a pile of gifts can include two small boxes of candy and a metal bookmark or a small bottle of perfume and a few bags of herbal tea.
Then to the second table, the Ravenclaw table. This will be the table for the postcard-writing team. Those joining this team will be responsible for writing postcards to put in the gift boxes. Cassie has prepared a thick deck of postcards, a number of quills and several bottles of colourful ink. The club members will write a line of new year greetings on each of the postcards. Various types of stickers are also provided to decorate the postards.
Those by the Hufflepuff table will be in charge of wrapping gifts. Cassie has prepared various kinds of gift wrapping paper, in all kinds of patterns and colours. Scissors and glue are also provided.
Last but not least, those picking to be on the ribbon-tying team will sit by the Slytherin table. Using the ribbons provided, their jobs are to tie neat bows on every gift box.
Cassie can be found walking around and helping different teams. When members of the club enters the Great Hall, she will greet them with a warm smile. 'Hello! Welcome to our third club meeting' she will say. 'I see you have brought some gifts. Please put them on the Gryffindor table!' she will then introduce the four teams to you and wait for you to pick a team.
OOC Notes

A new year, a new beginning, and many new resolutions. And also you grow older. The young witch wondered whether the year would be slow or fast-paced. As much as she'd like to grow up faster, she didn't want to miss the possibility of memories from her school life.
During the Christmas holidays, Marcella had spent many days shopping here and there at her favourite shops. The first day, she went to an antique shop so she'd be able to buy tiny trinkets for her friends. She bought tiny cat figurines, scented candles in fancy holders and many more.
She bought sticker books and handmade sticker sheets, which she had made herself. Her mom had helped with making clay trinkets. And her dad had helped her make beaded bracelets.
As soon as Cassie's letter was received, it was met with excitement. The ravenclaw remembered the feeling of impatience as she sat on the train back to Hogwarts.
It was soon time, the witch of wonder got dressed and dashed to the great hall. She arrived just in time for the activity. "Hey, Cassie! Hey, Zephyr! Happy New Year! How have you been?" she inquired. Soon she was told about the rules. Marcella chose to be in the postcard writing team. "I can use my customized stickers on the cards," she said, smiling.

Ezra had woken up early to make all his preparations in time for the next activity hosted by one of his favourite clubs to take part in. The volunteer club! He made up his mind to be on time today and he stuck to his plan. Over the Christmas holidays he had wanted to make a few presents for his friends at Hogwarts. He had pondered over what to make for a while until his sister enlightened him.
Even though she was 8 she had already learned how to crochet pretty well. She decided he was worthy enough to be her pupil and taught him the basics. He could now make frogs. And he was obsessed. He had made a variety in various colours. He had brought his army of friendly frogs with him to Hogwarts. They now resided in a fairly large pouch that he had placed in his favourite messenger bag which he had brought with him to the Great Hall.
He entered tentatively. It was odd seeing the hall he associated with crowds of students enveloped in a calm silence. He spotted the others awaiting the members of the club and approached them with a shy smile. "Happy new year!" He beamed, placing his gifts on the table. He snuck up beside his friend, Marcella, an unusually enthusiastic member of pretty much every club he had ever heard of. "The devil herself. We meet again. How was Christmas?" He asked fondly, giving her a quick hug.

Marcella sat down at the Ravenclaw table and spent a few minutes stretching her legs. Winter was Marcella's favourite season. Even though she was born on May, which, if you ask her was summer or spring, she wouldn't be able to tell you. She preferred rain, to the sun. She preferred the cold to the warmth. Marcella worried for her friends who were sensitive to the cold. Especially her favourite birdie puff, Ezra Calloway. The son of spring. The winter was not his style and he often gets chilled. She had knitted him tons of scarves, mittens and hats witht he help of her grandmother Vallerina.
Marcella may tell you that she has very few friends, but that may or may not be true. Marcella had already packed his gift and written a note on it.
Which said:
Dearest Ezra,
I thank fate every day for having made me meet you. You bring warmth to the room even on the coldest day. May all your resolutions (if you made any) come true (only if you do it)! And also, I got my little songbird something, too! But I had already owled her. She's too adorable, by the way. Can't wait to see her in real life! Also, Happy new year, puffie!
Marcella had just taken a card to write a message when she got startled by the very own gentle star, Ezra Calloway. Drumroll please. "Ez!" Marcella hugged the boy tightly.
"Mine was great, really! Spent the days baking and knitting with my grandma and a few days at the hospital accompanying my aunt as she works," she said as she ticked off the events that had happened. "Oh! We also went ice skating, and I met an old friend, and that's pretty much it." She concluded, and she patted the spot beside her on the bench. "Now you tell me, how were the holidays?"

Ezra smiled and settled down beside her. He listened attentively as she yapped about her holidays. He picked up a couple cards to start writing for his friends. He clicked his ballpoint pen anxiously, unsure where to start. "Oh mine? I had a pretty chill Christmas. I spent more time with my sister, which is good! My dad wasn't there though, which was kind of a bummer. I might see him next holiday. Oh! And I did spend time with Grandad. He actually opened up a bit! He told me about his Christmases with Grandma. It was really sweet actually. So that was fun." He recalled, the joy that lingered from his time with his family returning, washing him with a comfortable warmth.
Unknowingly he had doodled a reindeer on the card he was supposed to be addressing to his friend, Clark. He huffed, annoyed at himself for being careless. He thought out his messages and carefully calligraphed them each in his boring and slightly messy handwriting. Once he had finished each card he attached each card to the leg of each frog. He had made them in particular colours for each respective person and made a few random colours for any last minute gifts. What if he made a new friend on the train ride back? You could never be too careful.
He proudly exhibited his creations to Marcella. "I made them myself, actually." He chattered. As he attached the last card to a frog with a cute scarf in Hufflepuff colours, he felt a sudden wave of uncertainty. "Would Clark like this? I don't know why I made it in Hufflepuff colours... He's a Gryffindor after all..." He slammed his head gently into the table with an aggravated grunt. "I don't know if they'll even like them." He admitted.
I have no news. I live quietly. I love you and I wait

There was an amusement in his voice as he glanced around the hall. “Didn’t think I’d ever see the Great Hall look this productive.” He opened the bag he brought, walked toward the Gryffindor table as instructed, and placed his contributions among the growing assortment of gifts. It was nothing grand, just thoughtful pieces he made, and practical things that would be useful to whoever would receive them. He checked the setup Cassie did, and how methodical everything was arranged.
He set to work and put names on each table so everyone who will arrive will know what team each table represent and everyone can just choose whatever they prefer. Gryffindor table for gift sorting team, for Ravenclaw table postcard writing team, for Hufflepuff table is for those who would like to wrapping gifts and lastly Slytherin table was for the team who will manage the gift ribbons. "All done!" He exclaimed and then students started arriving as if on cue. "Hello, Happy New Year to you as well. My break's been great so far, enjoyed some family time and extra time with the animals on our farm." He shared the general activity he did but left out the part where his younger sister had been annoying him again.

Clark slipped into the Great Hall with a quiet and controlled pace, to not pull too much attention upon his arrival here. His shoulders were still a little stiff, the strap of his bag a bit uneven on them, from his earlier rush. Even in attempt on keeping track of the time, he almost came to late for this activity. He only wanted to have a small study session before the club‘s activity, which turned out to be a way longer one than he intended. And upon already being stressed, he didn‘t find his small handmade gifts right away.
His handmade gifts were neatly folded paper stars, filled with a heartwarming message he wrote, and with some of Clark‘s favourite washy tape, he had attached a handmade bracelet.
The bracelets themselves varied, different colors, different patterns, some were threaded with small beads he had brought along, others simpler but still neatly made. His grip thightened around the box in which he carried them, while moving through the aisles between the long tables of each house. He spotted Cassie, one of the leaders of the Volunteer club. He approached carefully, listening as she explained today‘s activity, sorting, writing postcards, wrapping gifts. He watched as Zephyr Deakin placed some name cards on each table, addressing each station. As he got every information that he needed, Clark moved on, navigating towards the Gryffindor table, that already had a small pile of gifts. Clark stepped up and gently placed the box with his gifts on the table, and opened the box, to get the stars and the bracelets attached to them out. His gaze lingered on them for some longer time, taking in the labeled ones for his friends. For each of them he had prepared a rather more personal note inside of the stars. He hoped they would like them.
As Clark stepped back, he let his gaze shift again, and than he spotted them. Ezra and Marcella sitting at the Ravenclaw table, engrossed in what seemed like a conversation. They probably were catching up. He bet they had great a holiday at home. Clark had stayed here, mostly because he didn‘t knew what to do at home. His parents were probably away as always, not even bother to have bought in some gifts, and Finlay mentioned he would visit his parents in this week, so Clark basically had no other choice than to stay here. Atleast the Hogwarts castle didn‘t feel empty in contrast to the old victorian mansion he lived in. well the staff was present, but it still didn‘t feel like “home“ for Clark, so staying at Hogwarts was the best decision for him.
Clark shook his head slightly. Focus Clark! Don‘t start drifting off again!, he thought to himself. Back to Ezra and Marcella.
He would let them talk, because he didn‘t want to be the person who intervenes, that‘s just rude in his eyes.
So he made his way towards the Hufflepuff table, where the gift wrapping would take place at. The task of wrapping the gifts it felt kind of…right. It was a careful work, in need of many details. Something he could focus on. Clark adjusted the strap of the bag on his shoulder, then moved over, setting into the space quietly, ready to start.

Coded by Melissa BlakeWinter. The beast season of them all.
And not just because of the cold or the white views. It was because, somehow, it made me feel like there was something in the air where I belonged to.
I had just came back from my home. Dad was on his holidays, and he got me a new watch, lots of chocolate and a new book. On Christmas Eve's morning, we went to the cementery and visited mom again. We got her new flowers, and I yapped about Hogwarts and how amazing was everything. He kept the tradition of opening the gifts at midnight. I got him new stones for his collection and a new sweater. And another pair of glasses, since he told me recently he had broken his again.
When I came back to Hogwarts, I had new bookmarks (a gift from Mr. Weatherby) for me to give to my friends (or so he said). So what better choice than giving them for the Volunteer Club?
When I arrived, I noticed I was late. My bad. It was my first time being late to... Anything. I had no excuse.
With my cheeks red, I was thankful to my Saints that they didn't notice my absence. Slowly, I took out of my pocket the bookmarks, and headed towards the Ravenclaw table. Not because of personal preferences, but because I sucked at wrapping gifts and I liked to write.
I bowed my head at Cassie, silent, as I arrived to the table and started writing.Stamina: 6 | Evasion: 6 | Strength: 4 | Wisdom: 7 | Arc Power: 6 | Accuracy: 6

It was the first Sunday after New Year, I looked out my window to see the grounds covered in white. How beautiful! I loved winter, especially the snow. I had just returned from my home yesterday. I had spent the holidays making all sorts of gifts and shopping for treats, for the students at Hogwarts. I put on my fur coat, picked up my box full of gifts and headed towards Great Hall. What a splendid day it was to be helping out in The Volunteer Club.
I stepped inside Great Hall and noticed some students already there. I spotted Cassie and went towards her. She said, "Hello! Welcome to our third club meeting. I see you have brought some gifts. Please put them on the Gryffindor table!" She also informed me about our job today, and told me to choose one of the house tables. First, I went towards the Gryffindor table to place my presents. I had made charm bracelets and jewellery, some of them using seashells. I placed a bowl full of candy on the table. I had also made several bookmarks and keychains, crochet flowers, and a couple of wand cases with designs on the box that I carved out myself. It was the first time I had carved on wood, it was so fun. I had really enjoyed making all these presents.
I then thought about the tasks I could do today. Out of the four I found writing to be quite fun, especially because I loved to write. So I decided to go to the Ravenclaw table to write some postcards. I picked up a couple of postcards, a quill, and a bottle of ink, as I settled down.

Mentions - @Cassie Jiang Dialogue | Thoughts Date - 04/01/26 WC - 393Lily stepped into the Great Hall with a quiet kind of excitement running through her. I've been waiting for this, she thought, clutching the small bag of items she'd brought from home. Chocolate frogs, a tin of cookies, a small silver charm she'd made during her first night in the dorm. The idea of giving these to someone who might need a little cheer filled her chest with warmth. The Christmas holidays had only just ended, and even though she had enjoyed the break, Hogwarts felt a little calmer now that she was back among familiar hallways.
When she spotted Cassie at the far end of the hall, Lily felt a smile grow. She remembered the excitement she felt when she had received the owl announcing this next club activity. She had been waiting for the next activity since the moment the last one ended. She found she enjoyed this club a lot more than she originally thought she would.
The setup immediately caught her attention. Tables had been divided into sections, each one with a different task. Lily liked work with a purpose, especially when it involved small details and a bit of creativity. The idea of making gifts for other students made her feel oddly cheerful. A little anonymous kindness, left out in the cold for someone else to discover. She figured she would try out each task if she had the time.
Making her way to the front of the tables, Lily offered Cassie a polite wave and listened carefully while she explained the four teams. Gift sorting, postcard writing, wrapping and ribbon tying. Each one sounded pleasant in its own way, but Lily was drawn almost immediately to the wrapping table. She would start there. She went ahead to the Gryffindor table first to drop off her goodies, observing the many other gifts already stacked.
Lily briefly scanned the other tables where club members were starting to gather before heading towards the wrapping stations. She quite enjoyed the tactile nature of working with her hands while absorbing the chatter around her. As she reached the table and looked over the wrapping paper, scissors and glue, she felt herself relax. This will be nice, she thought. Quiet, reflective, and in a way, it makes the entire hall feel a bit more like home. She sat down and began her task.✰ c'est la vie ✰
