A Fall Afternoon
It was a beautiful Saturday after noon. Leaves had been changing colors since it was fall and the trees had been sending leaves floating through the air to land on the ground. Leaves floated on the Great Lakes surface and there were numerous leaves scattered on the grounds of the Hogwarts castle.
Underneath a tree that was somewhat placed on a hill sat a girl. She had brown hair that was dyed white below her ears and maroon on her bangs. She was wearing a green leather jacket, a black choker, a necklace with an emerald on it. And under the jacket was a plain white tee, she was wearing white ripped jeans, and white high tops. On her lap was a sketchbook and so far she had drawn an almost picture perfect, colorless recreation of the great lake and the trees near it she just wasn't finished yet.
The brunette seemed to be so focused on her sketchbook in front of her that she didn't even notice when people walked by or if anyone made any noise at all. So when footsteps were heard coming behind her she never took her mind off of what she was doing right then.

A Fall Afternoon
A jog, weekends were great for them since he wasn't forced to wear slacks on his run. He never ran in slacks, he would rather not run at all. There was rarely a time where he actually saw students running for the benefit or even fun of it, but it was his newfound interest in wanting to unwind and relax. Sitting still for so much builds up so much energy in him that he squirmed or became distracted in class often. Plus there was no true physical class he could attend, which confused him to the highest degree.
HE'S always had to take a physical education class. This was a way to release it since he wasn't Quidditch player and there were no tryouts yet. It made him anxious and as a result, he wanted to train himself more and more. He was decent with magic but not as good as the rest. This might as well be the only thing he was good for, maybe that can change one day. He had his hoodie to keep him warm since it was fall in the highlands. His attire was simple, old running shoes and sweatpants to compliment it.
REID was about to continue on his way when he saw someone underneath the tree. He's seen them a thousand times over, someone was always sitting near a tree. But her skill made him curious, causing him to stop and stare at her page from afar. Using the sleeve of his gray hoodie, he wiped his forehead and approached rather carefully. The closer the got, the more he realized it was the girl he had caught months and months ago as Head Boy.
"YOU'RE not out past curfew this time?" he asked loudly. Reid hoped she didn't mind intruding, but he gravitated towards somewhat familiar faces.

Eri looked up when a familiar voice rang out behind her causing her to turn her head. Seeing a familiar face. It was a boy whom she had met when he was head boy in her first year after he caught her out past curfew. Though how he remembered her with the difference in her appearance didn't shock her. Even though the bottom I fell her brown hair was white, her bangs were maroon, and the top of her hair was brown, he still recognized her face. Smiling she spoke in her normal Russian accent with a littleness hint of British. "If I was I'm pretty sure I'd be in trouble again." She said a little jokingly. "How are you? And what are you doing out here?" She asked, but she also didn't remember his name so she didn't say his name.
The brunette placed her pencil in her pocket and looked at her drawing. It was a pretty good picture of what was in front of her. Only just smaller because it was on paper. She looked up at him and wondered if he was training or doing something if that sort. Maybe he wanted to be a quidditch player.

SHE seemed to recognize him so it wasn't going to be weird, he had taken the leap with him referencing the first meeting they had. But it was a good thing that he didn't have to explain himself to her and risk making a mockery of himself. Reid rolled up his sleeves as he talked. "I'm doing well, sort of tired really. I was just out for a run before going to eat." He didn't exactly have to ask her what she was doing either, he could tell from the sketchbook she was holding. "Judging by the looks of it, you're pretty busy yourself." he briefly smiled.
REID didn't recall her name very well, if at all. Short one time encounters rarely left a mark on him considering his memory wasn't the best all around. He would have loved to keep tabs on names, despite his best efforts, but a person's features at the very least stick to him. "Sorry, but I don't mean to be rude, I can't seem to recall your name all that well." He seemed sheepish, embarrassed that he couldn't bring the name back from the depths of his memory no matter how hard he tried. Reid didn't notice it, but he had undergone a change with how he was around people.
AT the beginning of his first year, he didn't plan to be so talkative or even interested in other people. The plan was going to be that he stuck to himself and the little friends he made for all eternity and that was the end of it. Never in his life did he think he would end up being a type of person to even bother approaching others, let alone without warning. Whether it was a good thing or a bad thing, he wasn't entirely sure of. He's had good experiences with his oddly social behavior and he's had bad ones to boot. This one seemed to be a good one, at least right now it did.

So he was running. Eri nodded at his statement about her being busy herself. Though she could put it away if he wanted her to. "Just drawing. I could put it up for now. All I have left to do is color anyways." She said closing the book and slid it into her bag.
"Oh it's fine. I also can't exactly recall your name. It's Eri windstone. And what is yours." At least he asked that question and not herself. Cause she would have been more embarrassaed than he seemed to be. Though they hadn't exactly knew each other well.
Though the brunette wasn't a very expressive person but she did talk to people more than she did last year. Definitely not a person who went and talked to everyone so that is probably why she is a Ravenclaw.
"So how is school going for you so far? Is it going well?" She said looking up at him. "You can sit down if you want." The brunette said before she looked out a thing the beautiful landscape in front of her it was so beautiful. She loved this place it made her very calm and she could just think clearly out here.

IT wasn't good to stop his run, it would make it incomplete and all the effort he did was all for nothing. But the young man didn't want to pass up to talk to a stranger he just barely met the last time. "Reid Kovacs, it's nice to finally meet you Eri." Reid met the ground beside her, giving ample space between the two of them as he settled with a dramatic sigh. He brought his knees up to himself just a little and rested his arms atop of it as he did so.
"SCHOOL is going well, nothing too crazy but I'm getting caught up in my studies. I fall behind every now and then but I have a friend helping me." he answered. The position was uncomfortable so he stretched his legs out in front of him and played with the blades of grass in one hand while the other rested on his lap. "It's kind of um ... what's the word?" Reid glanced at her, scratching the back of his ear as he tried to find the word he learned the other day. "Tedious. Studying is tedious."
THIS was hopefully the right context, he sometimes used words he didn't really know how to use properly. Reid stretched himself forward, attempting to touch his toes with his hands as he limbered up on the ground. He didn't mind the grass stains that made him seem like he did a slide across a football field. "But anyway, what about you? How has your second year been so far?"
SOME tinge of guilt hit him though. Did she not remember the skirmish? He felt bad for it afterward, he had ended up doing a lot more damage than he intended. Merlin's Beard, did he hit her so hard with the bludger that she didn't remember?

"I rember now. Weren't you a beater on the opposite team? I don't really remember that much since I literally went to fast on the broom and it got off balance and I fell, but it was fun." Eri said with a shrug. She did enjoy that game but now she wasn't quite sure if she ever wanted to try to play quidditch as a seeker. Maybe a beater, but never again as seeker.
"It's going quite well actually. I haven't had to many things go wrong yet. And if you ever need help you can ask me." She said.
Eri watched as he played with the grass then she looked her hands which were covered in pencil led. Then she looked up and looked at him with her silver eyes. She kind of wanted to try to play quidditch again. "If I play quidditch again I'll never be seeker again. Maybe a beater. But you were really good. You had good accuracy and hid all of your targets." Maybe he did hit her with a blusher cause she doesn't remember it very well. "Wait you did hit me with a blusher, but that wasn't the cause of my fall. And don't feel bad it was just a game." She said with a smile.

A Fall Afternoon
SOMEHOW, she remembered the terribly brutal game that they both had played in. It made him nervous at first, unsure of whether she would give him quite the scowl. But she sounded genuinely confused and didn't seem to have the best memory of it. As she went on about it, Reid meekly smiled and listened with close intent. She had been far too kind to him, but he was glad that she didn't seem the type to hold grudges over relatively lighthearted games. He arched his brow at the confession of being dissuaded from the Seeker role.
IT was not a role that he would have considered either, not one that he would ever perhaps. Beater was the only role for him as far as he was concerned and it seemed to be a role that she was considering too. His face lit up at the sound of it, faltering just a little at the mention of his own savagery during the game. The muscles on his face tensed up a little into an awkward smile, no teeth, though there was a clear embarrassment on his features. His hand came up to push the hair that was on the back of his neck, laughing slightly as he broke eye contact with the Ravenclaw.
"IT was a bit of a wild one to be honest, I didn't think that it would end up that way." He slowly relaxed and looked back at Eri, his hand having a firm grip on his arm. "I'm glad you're okay though, that was a nasty fall from where I was at. We didn't continue the game afterward, but it would have been fun if we did." Reid confessed. Quidditch was an easy topic for him to talk about, it competed for attention with his schoolwork quite often.
NATURALLY, he continued on about it without a second thought. "I hope you can set yourself into Ravenclaw's team when tryouts happen. I haven't heard anything about Hufflepuff's tryouts, but I did want to be Hufflepuff's Beater if I can." It was all he blabbered on about, but Reid was afraid that his expectations were too high. If he truly didn't get the position of Beater, it'd be sore wounds from then on. He was always afraid of competition, but the stress made him perform better if anything.

Eri did remember the game, though bits and pieces were fuzzy. Though the really clear memories was when she fell off her broom from goin to fast on her broom trying to catch the snitch. Those school brooms weren't good for speed. Nether the less did that discourage her from trying, but it caused her to almost die. Well she didn't die, but she wasn't going to be seeker again. That role was out of the picture forever in her mind.
"The fall wasn't entierly bad. I didn't die. Though I got bruised ribs, broken fingers, sprained ankle, and a lot of other bruises. So I think I was fine." The fall wasn't the worst thing to happen to her she lived didn't she.
"You think I should I should try out? I don't really know if I want to, but I guess I could. Though you are honestly better than me so I totally think you could make the Hufflepuff team." Eri said to him. Then she wiped a strand of hair from her face.
"So has anything interesting happened this year? So far the year has seemed to go by without something horrible happening yet. Though what's a year without adventure?" The brunette stated looking back at Reid.

IT was a little comical with how she listed off the numerous injuries she sustained thanks to him, which was funny for a second until he understood how painful it probably was. It was then that he was thankful for the marvels of modern medicinal magic, those would be fixed in a couple of days perhaps. She also seemed rather optimistic about the whole ordeal in general, there seemed to be no malice in her voice. For that, he was thankful for. It would have plagued him for a while if he was told otherwise.
A smile would adorn his features as he listened to her talk on about Quidditch, humbled that she thought he would make a good addition to the team. He thought of her the same, hopefully, he would meet her on the field in better circumstances the next time around. He fiddled with the blades of grass beneath them and plucked a few in blissful ignorance with the fact that he was getting himself dirty. Reid's hair was slightly tousled by the wind, nodding slightly at her question.
"WELL ..." The young man paused, his thumb coming up to brush his brow. "To be honest with you, I'm quite glad that the action has died down. I don't think we're going to have much soon, but I'm happy at the fact that we might just have a normal year. Maybe then more time will be spent on Quidditch rather than the things that have happened." His back was pressed against the rough bark, "But from what I saw in our commons, Lear is taking us on a trip. Not a lot of information was put on the paper, but it seems like an adventure enough."
REID'S hands sheepishly went up to run down the nape of his neck, feeling a twinge of nervousness at the thought of it. "But I hope we're not gone for too long, I need to get back to doing my school work. I fall behind easy. What of you? Have you done anything out of the ordinary?"
"Trouble usually finds me."
