Girls Only
Growing up with brothers she did not have a lot of girl talk in her life. Or any at all really. Living on a farm can be isolations at times but she still would not trade it for anyone or anything. Most of the time she did not mind it but sometimes it was nice to have a place just for girls only and girl talk. She enjoyed giggling about crushes and fashion and asking older girls questions she could not ask her father or brothers. The very idea of asking them some of her questions had made her blush already on multiple occasions. She was very grateful for the house elves that keeping everything so clean and for replacing the cedar chips every week. It was just a lavatory really but each and every room in Hogwarts was something to celebrate in her eyes. She enjoyed every interaction she had. She looked herself in the mirror and still saw the same child her family saw but knew over the years each time she looked in the mirror she would see changes. Today she was trying something different with her hair. Usually she wore it straight down but today she tried a half up and half down style and liked the way it looked.

"Well, thank goodness for a free period." Rosalyn said, walking into the Girl's Lavatory. She had some free time, and felt like painting her nails, and she didn't feel like walking all of the way over to her dorm or common room, so she decided that here was a good place to go.
She went in and to one of the sinks, putting down the bottle of light-pink polish she had in her bag for emergencies or times like these, and took off her gloves. She had just had Potions, and they had needed their protective gloves, and she hadn't had time to take them off before the end of class.
She started to shake up the polish and put it onto her nails, and she looked over to a girl who was a couple sinks down. She looked really pretty, and the way she had her hair pulled up, half up and half down, really suited her.
"Free period too? Or just a class break?" she asked, curious to know if the girl was here for a gossip session or a quick between class in-and-out type of thing.
"I've got a free period, and I thought, why not do my nails?" she adds, moving from her thumb to her index finger, putting the polish on nice and evenly.
She didn't know who this girl was, but Rosalyn was quite bored, and this girl looked nice, so she was hoping for a good conversation, or at least a new familiar face.

Hi, @Fiona Green! If this was supposed to be private, just let me know and I'll delete it!

Fiona gave a quick start when the other girl started talking to her. She thought she may have seen her before around the Slytherin common room. She peeked over at her. She looked confident and kind. There was a section of a fluffy forest green sweater sneaking out from under her robes and Fiona thought it looked really comfy. She can do this she thought to herself. She can makes friends and get to know those around her. "Just a class break", she replied, "I still have Charms to go today". The girl had started putting on nail polish before she replied but from her vantage point she could not see her hands too well. "What color are you going to use?" she asked. At home she usually did blue on her toes but clear or nude on her fingers. Working on the farm her fingernail polish would chip more often than not so it just made the most sense to keep it to neutral colors for her hands and leave the more bright selections for her toes. She decided to tell the girl this and hoped she wasn't over sharing. "Oh and I'm Fiona" she said, "It's nice to meet you!".

"Charms, huh? Not my favorite class, but I do enjoy learning all of the spells. It's really cool to me how just by using some magic, so many things are possible!" Rosalyn says, remembering her first lesson a little while ago. It was really interesting, but a lot of fun.
"I'm using pink. But only light-pink, I don't like hot pink." she replies, answering the girl's previous question.
"And it's really nice to meet you, Fiona! Do you want to use the polish? Or I can do your nails for you? I have extra polish and time, and I'm pretty sure you have a few minutes before class." she says, offering.
Neutral polish, as the girl told her she wore on her fingernails usually because of farm work, which she didn't really think was too much over sharing so she wasn't about to judge, was good and all, but sometimes it was fun to wear other colors.
She always loved to have her nails done. She could survive with them plain, but it was always more fun to have pretty colors on her nails, because pointing at things always looked so much cooler that way.
"If not, that's fine. Just an offer!" Rosalyn adds, making sure she knows it's not like needed or anything.

@Rosalyn WillowsThe class was Botany, and since the weather was sunny, Lenora thought it would be more sensible to skip class. While the other students went to other classes, the albino girl deliberately made sure to gather her belongings slowly.
She finally left the classroom when she was the only one left. Another thing he liked about wizards was that they didn't use the electronic gadgets that Muggles used. This meant there were no security cameras like in the schools he saw on television. This way, there was no chance of being caught unless she encountered a professor on the floor.
The idea of hiding in the restroom appealed to Lenora, so she went into the girls' restroom on the fourth floor, but she hadn't factored in that two other girls were there as well. She smiled involuntarily when the strong smell of nail polish hit her nose.
"I guess I'm not the only one skipping class."
She spoke with her hands involuntarily in her pockets. She was now a little more open to talking. But sometimes she still had difficulty speaking or thought too much.
"Can I stay here with you for a while? If you don't want to, I understand."

Fiona had just finished asking Rosalyn if she had any blue nail polish when another girl entered. She was a pale Hufflepuff in their year. The girl seemed nervous and asked if she could join them. Fiona did not want to speak for Rosalyn but already knew the girl would not mind so she spoke up "Of course you can!" she said. The more the merrier she thought. Fiona was okay with one on one talking with people but sometimes she liked fading into the background the way one can with more than one person in the conversation with her.
Fiona was applying the nail polish Rosalyn handed over, a lovely blueish green (It made her think of the color of the ocean), and asked the girl her name. She knew what is was from one of their classes together but her father had told her its still important to ask these things to people as it made them feel heard. This was fun, she thought to herself. Hogwarts always seemed so big. The same with magic. The consequences of making a mistake so severe, that something like some girl talk and nail painting was relaxing. If she made a mistake here she could just wipe the polish off of her nails and try again.

"Blue? Hmm, let me check..." Rosalyn said, rummaging through her bag to find the color. She thought she had put like an oceany blue in there the other day, but she couldn't remember.
"Yes! Blue! Here you go, Fiona!" she said, handing the blue-green color over to the girl. It wasn't exactly a plain blue, but the color was still really pretty, and she hoped that it would work.
"So, how are everyone's days going? Mine's been pretty good, class wasn't too hard earlier, and I have a bit of a break until I have to go to my next lesson!" she said, quite happy about the fact that she got a quick little break, rather than having to go straight into her next class.
Rosalyn was still focused a bit on the nail polish she was applying, though, hoping that it wouldn't just smear everywhere. Even if it did, though, she knew that she could just wipe it off and try it again, but she didn't really feel like doing that today if she could help it.
Sometimes though, she was just a clumsy person, and she had grown to be okay with that part of herself too, no matter how annoying it sometimes was.

@Rosalyn WillowsWith a slight feeling of embarrassment, she approached the two girls. She watched, with curiosity and a little envy, as one girl applied nail polish to the other. Her mother didn't allow her to apply too much because her body was sensitive, and she didn't normally know how to apply it herself.
"Well, I have a herbology class, but I have a couple of skin problems... It's a little uncomfortable."
Lenora's statements weren't entirely false. Besides being a Dhampir, she felt somewhat more comfortable being an Albino, so it didn't count as lying to those she knew.
Lenora narrowed her eyes to examine the girls. Two of them had blonde hair and green robes. She didn't know either of their names yet.
"My name is Lenora. We haven't met yet, but we can if you'd like."
She watched the nail polish application with great curiosity. The nail colors looked perfect. Her own nails were a little too long because she hadn't cut them for a few days.
"Isn't this harmful to the skin?"
She couldn't help but ask involuntarily. Some might consider it rude. Her eyes began to tremble involuntarily and rapidly (Nystagmus). 'I don't want to look too strange,' she thought.

“Oh, I’m sorry about the sensitivity, and absolutely no worries on not wanting the polish, just an offer!” Rosalyn said, hoping to make the girl not feel bad about saying no, because it really wasn’t a problem at all.
“Bad for the skin? Hmm, I don’t think so. Hold on, let me check…” she said, looking at the back of the bottle trying to see if there were any warnings or anything. Just the standard ‘don’t eat’ and ‘don’t put in your eyes’ sort of thing, nothing about being horrible for the skin itself.
“Not that I can tell. I could be wrong, though! I’m, unfortunately, not a nail polish expert. Wouldn’t that be a really cool job though?” she said, then pondering how much fun it would be to do that as an actual career.
“Herbology, huh? I love Herbology! Plants are so cool. Except I am allergic to pollen, so I have to be careful about some of them. Most are fine, though! Especially magic ones. What do you think?” she asked, curious to know if the girl had the same opinion.
“Wait, I’m sorry, what’s your name, I don’t think I caught it? I’m Rosalyn, by the way, not sure if I introduced myself yet! You can call me Rosie, though!” she said, sticking out her hand to shake, but then realizing she had wet polish on it and probably shouldn’t.

Stephanie had been enjoying classes so far. Her favourite had to be Potions, the amazement at the results never ceased to amaze her. She found that Herbology was not her strong subject, however.
Stephanie had found a break between classes to use the toilet and promptly made her way there. Hearing voices inside, she halted but then reminded herself that it was never going to be completely empty, and so she entered, taking in the faces of the other occupants.
She gave a smile and went into a cubicle, the first one she could. She emerged a few minutes later and went to the sinks to wash her hands.
She overheard the conversations near her. Nail polish. That was definitely familiar. She had not painted them since before coming here though. She had not packed any. The colours she saw the girls wearing made her smile a bit, they were really pretty colours. Her favourite colour was green, which was fitting for being a Slytherin, she supposed.
Gathering up the courage, she spoke up "I cannot remember the last time I painted my nails. I forgot to bring some with me." She smiles at the girls. "I'm Stephanie Kensington by the way, nice to meet you." She entwined her fingers after they were dry.
