The "Death" Witch And The Hunter
It was a cool fall morning. Autumn colored leaves lay on thevast grounds of Hogwarts. The trees on the grounds painted in vast varieties of orange, red, and yellow hues. And some of the leaves floated down gently and laid peacefully on the still surface of the Great Lake.
It was Saturday and most people were asleep still in their beds. Wearing her normal black drawstring hoodie, white jeans, and her grey high top converse. It had been since the sun rose to signal that morning had come when Eri came out to sit in front of the cool Lake. Her thoughts swirled in her head and a gentle breeze blew through the air causing her short brown hair to slightly sway. A lot of things were on her mind.
Normally The brunette brought her wand everywhere she went, but today the special peice of magical wood sat in her dormitory in a special compartment of her trunk. Today she was just going to think and reflect over the mistakes she had from last year and how she could fix it. She didn't know how to fix those problems she had done.
Her emerald green eyes scanned the lake's surface and she was so distracted she didn't here the almost to faint to hear footsteps walking behind her.

He saw her, the death witch airheat, threat level six or seven, he couldn't really recall. And it was far too risky to pull out his book and check, not now, not when she didn't even see him coming. Or at least he hoped she didn't see him coming. It very well could have been a trap, she could have predicted when he would show up, predicted it and then planned ahead, planned to look vulnerable so he would lunge in headlong. There was no way he was going to do that and end up blasted by some kind of horrible trap spell.
But that was okay, he knew he was probably safe where he was right then. If he was already within trapping range it would have happened already, right? He would already have gotten caught up in whatever machinations she had prepared for him.
Holding his slingshot tight in one hand while slipping a slingstone into the pouch with other, both carefully concealed underneath his robe.
"You. What are you planning?"
Asking was usually the best policy, but it did occur to him that she would probably just lie about it. What kind of death witch would reveal her plot just because she was asked to?

Eri's train of thought was broken by a voice causing her to jump in surprise. It caught her off guard but after thinking for a moment she recognized the voice. She turned her head and looked at him. Then turned her head away so he couldn't see the tears on her face. The brunette wiped them away and turned her head to answer him. "I'm planning nothing at the moment. I just came down here to think. I didn't even bring my wa..." She stopped herself before she could say wand. She didn't want him to shoot her with his slingshot because she was vulnerable.
The brunette turned her head back towards the lake and debated over standing up or turning around. Cause if she did he would see she had no possible spot to put her wand. Maybe he didn't bring his sling shot but the chances were slim.
"I wanted to thank you for umm saving my life at the pick up quidditch match." She said trying to change the subject of her being a scheming death witch. It unsettled her. But he had probably still questioned how she knew the spell diffindo. She didn't exactly know it but it had been a part of some negetive thing in her past.

Again, the death witch was being far too transparent. This had happened the last time they met and it was clearly happening again. She was trying to lay some kind of trap for him. She clearly said the first syllable of wand. No one was stupid enough to admit to their enemy they were unarmed unless they had a plan. It just didn’t happen, wasn’t a thing. Was she really expecting him to believe she accidentally almost mentioned a lack of a wand? That was not going to happen, not while he still possessed some vestige of what could only be described as common sense.
She further tried to lower his guard by thanking him for saving her life. It was an interesting thought, a death witch that had tried to kill him thanking him for saving her life. The only reason that would happen would be if she was forced to do it, was using that as a deception or just felt really bad and wanted to get stuff off of her chest so that she could go ahead and kill him without anything weighing down on her conscious.
"I did my job. If I wasn't obligated to help you I would have made sure you landed on a knife. I'm not falling for this, whatever this is. So why don't you just stop trying?"

Eri frowned. And stood up. She kept her hands down at her side so he could see them. If he were to pay attention he would see there was nowhere for her to have her wand. So it would have to be either in her hand or on the ground and wasn't either of the places.
She chose to ignore that comment of letting her fall on a knife. "Fine. What do you want." Eri didn't move at all for a reason. She didn't want to make any moves that he would say were suspicious. Though if it had to come to it where he used his slingshot she had no way to defend herself.
The brunette was puzzled she was trying what? Sometime Kaegen confused her, but nonetheless she would just stop talking. It wasn't going anywhere except down. So now what was she going to do? She would let him shoot her with his slingshot if that happened. But hopefully it wouldn't happen.
Eri wiped a stray strand of her brown hair out of her face and then put her hand back to where it was before. She didn't want to accidentally make Kaegen think she was up to something.

The boy was paying attention. And there were a lot of places for her to hide her wand. Her lower leg, upper leg, up her sleeve, taped to her back, strapped to her arm. The possibilities were numerous, and he didn't like the prospect of not knowing where the attack was coming from. To make matters worse, there was always the chance that she really didn't have a wand and this trap ran far deeper and more treacherous than he could ever have imagined.
Her hands were by her side, as if demonstrating exactly how defenseless she was. Honestly, everything was pointing towards her not having a wand, and wanting him to know that she didn't. A normal boy may have seen this and realized that the girl wanted to talk, but Kaegen had never even heard of a parlay, had no clue what this could be if not a trap. Her plan, it seemed, was simple. Make Kaegen think that she was unarmed, he would let down his guard and then boom. Spring the trap.
But he wasn't going to give in, not by a long shot. There was something up, and he wasn't going to be tricked into believing there wasn't.
"I already asked you. I want an honest answer."

"And I gave you one. All I was doing was thinking. Do you have to know what I was doing?" She asked. She didn't want him to know that she had been thinking on mistakes she made the past year. Cause then he might think she was trying to make a plan against him and take in account of all the things she failed before. But no she wasn't making any plans.
Eri shrugged and crossed her arms. She sighed. This was a bit exhausting trying to prove her innocence, but at least he wasn't trying to kill her. Well at least she hoped he wasn't trying to kill her.
"Look, I'm being honest. It would be crazy for you to believe me but anyways I am being honest." She wasn't sure how well that went but she hoped he would believe her. If not well she may have to continue to watch out for anything. Kaegen kind of scared her. There were plenty of reasons, but she didn't want him to know that he scared her. Fear could always be used as a leverage and as long as the one thing that gives fear does not know you fear it you have the advantage.

This was a challenge. Sure, he didn't actually have to know. But if he didn't, how was he supposed to know if the girl was trying to kill him or not. On the other hand, even if she did tell him, he probably wouldn't believe her. Why would he? She was clearly capable of lying, clearly capable of some of the most heinous acts known to wizard kind.
And so he chose not the answer her first question. It wouldn't do him any good to, so why bother. Her second statement was more than a little bit ludicrous. She admitted that it would be stupid for him to listen to her? Well, in that case it sounded a lot like it was a good thing he wasn't planning on listening to her anyway. If he didn't think she could be trusted, and she told him he would be crazy to think she could be trusted, didn't they agree?
"So we agree, then. I shouldn't trust you."
The boy took a hesitant step backwards. It was a smooth step, blending in as best it could with the gently swaying grass. He could run, he knew. He had a spell up his sleeve that could get him out of here as fast as anything she could throw at him. Assuming he saw it coming.

Eri mentally facepalmed. That kind of was what she meant, but she didn't mean it like she was planning something. Of course he took it that way. "Yes I agree, but the only reason I do agree was I destroyed our friendship by accidentally almost killing you. So yes I agree." She said trying to empathize the word "Accidentally" it was accidental.
The brunette didn't make any moves. She didn't want to think she was trying to attack him or think she was trying to run away. She wished she had her wand now. There was a little hint of fear in her eyes but she tried to hide it. She had no wand to protect her or help make a distraction.
Eri didn't have anything else to say at that moment but she was thinking on what to say. She needed to think in how to word her next sentence. "What do you want from me? I've given you an honest answer." She said looking at him. She wasn't really expecting him to give her an answer, but if she did she hoped it wouldn't be a bad answer. So she stood there waiting for his answer to her question.

"So, if we agree then why are we even having this conversation?
The boy missed the accidentally. He had heard it, to be sure. Heard that it was louder than the other words, however what he focused on was that she agreed with him emphatically enough to say it twice. So she couldn't be trusted. He said it, she agreed, he agreed, she agreed twice. What was even the point of all of this if they both agreed nothing she said could be trusted?
He supposed there was no point. She was either doing a very poor job of convincing him of something and was just making it all the more obvious how clearly untrustworthy she was, or perhaps she was actually trying to be honest, but her evil nature was so ingrained into her body that she physically couldn't. Either way, it was stupid to stay here for very much longer.
"But didn't we just establish that you didn't give me an honest answer? We both agreed you shouldn't be trusted, right?"
Now he was just becoming confused. And he didn't like being confused with a mortal enemy so close by. That was just an invitation to become trapped by whatever machinations she had planned.
