The Sticky Accident
(Serena Towers & Bloom Silverton)
Serena walked quickly through the corridors, her robes fluttering rapidly behind her. She was born and brought up in the streets of London. And yes, whilst she was only eleven years old, every Londoner had one thing in common: a fast walk. She wasn't sure why but Londoners always seemed to be hurrying places. In the crowded streets of the capital of the country, the girl had learnt to quickly walk through the gaps. Unfortunately, it was an action that she had picked up and turned into a habit. Even now, when she had no where to go and nothing to do, she was walking briskly. In fact, it took her conscious effort to walk slower.
The young Hufflepuff was carrying a cup in one hand. It was one of those muggle coffee cups. Her mother had packed it into her bag without her knowledge. She had then proceeded to send an owl telling Serena to use it. In fact, she had sent several owls. All of them had lists of things that the girl should do regularly. "Eat every meal, make bed, keep chest clean, do homework, shower regularly, drink hot water, lemon and honey on a daily basis, drink tea when tired or sick..." to name a few. Serena ignored the owls at first but then was threatened with a howler. Since she didn't lie to her parents, she decided it was best to just use the products she had been given and to do whatever the letter said without question. Telling her parents she wasn't going to do something would just invoke a fight. Whilst Serena couldn't be bothered to "drink hot water, lemon juice and honey" on a daily basis, she decided to do it occasionally. Her mother had instructed her to add something else in there... perhaps the powder of a crushed Bicorn horn or maybe a Mandrake root or was it the Aconite root? Or was it another type of juice? Shrugging, she decided it was best to stick the known ingredients. She certainly did not have enough potions knowledge to be drinking the wrong thing and wasn't about to risk something foul happening to her.
Serena walked down the corridor of the third floor, before taking the stairs down to the second. As she approached the end of the stairs, still walking perhaps too quickly, they suddenly started to move. Gasping, Serena panicked. She wanted to get off the stairs! In all honesty, she wasn't used to these moving stairs. In her panic, the girl decided to just jump off the staircase before it moved to some random direction. She managed to safely land in the second floor corridor, with bent knees. Her robes, however, got caught under her foot as she went to catch herself. Within seconds, the girl went from standing on the staircase to tripping over her robes having jumped a metre or so. All of these actions caused her perfectly balanced hand to... well become unbalanced.
The gap on the coffee cup lid was quite small, usually preventing to large spillages. However, when you take a nice leaping jump, some of it splatters out. Then when you trip over your own robes, more splatters out. "ARGH!" Serena exclaimed as she dropped the plastic cup on the floor and shook her hand violently in the air to try and stop the burning. As she dropped it, even more spilled out - hitting her clothing too. "OH FOR F- Argh!" Serena cursed harshly, super annoyed at herself and her stupidity. The girl quickly bent down and picked up the cup to prevent any more spillage and damage. However, her hand was stinging a bit - which was were most of the hot liquid had spilled - and her clothes had small splatters and patches. Groaning, she wondered where the bathroom was so she could at least run her hand under some cold water to start with. Whilst it wasn't serious, she would have liked to avoid getting burns. Plus the lemon juice and honey was making her robes go sticky...

The Sticky Accident
Chatting among the Ravenclaw's in the corridor, Bloom's body alerted her that she needed to find a restroom. Although she did not want to make an announcement of her whereabouts, she told her Ravenclaw friends that she would see them later in the study room and she made her way to find a bathroom. Down the corridor, she strongly believed that there was a restroom on this floor. One step after another, her body's alert was getting stronger. She needed to find a bathroom quick.
As she made her way down the long hallway and to the right, she found a bathroom sign that seemed to be old and tattered. She shrugged it off and walked inside. The tile on the floor was cracked and the mirrors were almost all shattered. If she guessed correctly, the bathroom was most likely abandoned. Hogwarts has some weird rooms, she thought. She made her way to the nearest stall and looked around. Nothing was stocked. Great... Bloom squatted over the toilet seat and did her business when she heard someone screaming from outside the bathroom. Finishing up, she flushed the toilet and ran out of the stall. She ran out of the bathroom without washing her hands ((Ew, Bloom)) and saw that there was a Hufflepuff girl in distress.
Bloom ran up to the girl and saw that her hand was wet and she was carrying a mug in her other hand. Burn, she thought and grabbed the Hufflepuff's arm. "Hi, I'm Bloom, let's get you to the bathroom," she said, helping her as much as possible. The only way to help a burn was to put it under room temperature water. She hoped that the abandoned bathroom had running water for her via the sink. If not, there was always the toilet...

The Sticky Accident
Serena was still attempting to compose herself as she figured out where she was meant to go. Hogwarts was like a maze to her - how was she supposed to be able to locate the closest toilets to her? She seriously needed some sort of map that tracked where she was and could show her the fastest route to places she wanted to go. Alas, she didn't have such a thing - or know if such a thing even existed. However, that was neither here or there at this point in time. What mattered right now was that she had no idea where to go and her hand was hurting. Serena was about to groan, all annoyed with herself for getting into this mess.
However, before the groan escaped her lips, an arm grabbed hold of her. Gasping, Serena quickly looked up to see the source. Another girl, one dressed in Ravenclaw robes, had taken hold off her hand and started to pull her - indicating that Serena should follow her. "Wha- oh, yeah-" Serena managed to get out of her mouth as she was still a little surprised, not realising someone else was even there. On the plus side, the Hufflepuff had no idea that the hand that was touching her was unwashed - and massively gross!!! She probably wouldn't want the help if she did know! Since she didn't know (which just makes the whole thing even more hilarious), she nodded and let the girl led her, "Thanks!" She said more confidently as she followed the Ravenclaw.
Suddenly realising that she was being rude, the Hufflepuff quickly added, "I'm Serena, by the way," She would normally go for a handshake at this point but since she was getting pulled into the toilets, she decided not to right now. And that was definitely a good thing because who knows where Bloom's hands had been! Her unwashed hands! Not Serena, anyway!
As they entered the bathroom, her eyes darted around for a tap. She noticed everything looking a bit... well damaged and old looking. The bathroom almost had a creepy feel to it but she didn't really pay attention. Her focus fell onto the taps and she lunged forward to turn them on. Oh God, I hope these turn on! Even a few drips of water from the tap would be far better than even thinking about dunking her hands into the toilet. Because Serena was definitely not dunking her hands into the toilet. Nuh uh. Nope. Nada. Not happening. She was nowhere near the level of pain required to even consider that option.
[OOC: I'm going to let you decide if they turn on and Bloom gets to wash her hands or not!! Haha]

OOC: Are you sure you want that decision up to me?
Bloom pulled the Hufflepuff into the bathroom. She could tell that Serena was checking out how old and gross the bathroom was. She wasn't wrong. Bloom still wondered how in the living hell she was able to urinate in such an environment. Bloom could easily tell that this bathroom was unkempt for years. But why?
Bloom ignored her thoughts on the matter and made her way to the nearest water faucet. There were a total of four of them. She pressed on the top to start the water on the first faucet but nothing happened. She quickly moved to the next one. Nothing happened. Onto the third, and finally, there was water.
"Serena, this one works," she ushered the Hufflepuff. Bloom stood back and went to the fourth one, in hopes to have water as well to wash her hands. Luckily, it worked as well and Bloom rinsed her hands off. Feeling better that the Hufflepuff's hand was recovering, Bloom dried her hands on her black and blue robe and walked up to her.
"Are you feeling better?" she asked, wondering if the next step was to go to Madam Pomfrey. She felt terrible that she had to stay in this bathroom until she felt better. It wasn't a room anyone would choose to be in.

The Sticky Accident
Serena watched as Bloom rushed to turn on the taps. A frown crossed her face as she realised that the first one wasn't working - and neither was the second. Her hope started to disappear as she rushed forward and tried the closest water faucet herself. Bloom had already tried it but she was hoping she could get it to work. Luckily, she didn't have to try for too long, as she heard Bloom's voice echo in the creepy toilets. "Ahh- thank you!" She replied as she quickly moved to the third faucet and let the water run over her injured hand. She left the coffee cup she had been holding down on the side of the sinks, careful to at least place it upright this time.
The cold water hit her bare skin, instantly cooling the burns and providing Serena with a sense of relief. Sighing softly, she finally let her tensed shoulders sink a little. In all honesty, she hadn't actually realised they were tensed but releasing the tension certainly made them feel a lot better. The Hufflepuff let the water run over her hand for a while, to the point where it was getting cold. Unfortunately, she didn't want to get scars and burn marks from the hot water and this was one way to prevent that. Smiling, she looked over at the Ravenclaw with a look of relief clearly visible on her face, "Yeah, I'm fine - thanks to you!" She said, gratefully, "I didn't even know these toilets were here..." Serena continued honestly. She wondered how she would have found them if it wasn't for the fellow student. At least she was super grateful to the unwashed arm that led her here.
Serena turned off the tap with her free uninjured hand. Shaking the wet hand lightly, to get some of the water droplets off it, she raised it slightly closer as she examined it. With an approving nod, "It looks alright." She confirmed as the redness had started to settle. Looking around, she laughed a little, "Though I'm not sure I could say the same about this room..." She continued. Where all of the toilets in Hogwarts this creepy?! The ones in the Hufflepuff common room were a lot nicer, that was for sure.

The Sticky Accident
Bloom watched as the girl was tending to her wound. A burn was one of the most terrible injuries to have, Bloom thought. She remembered having a burn when she was younger. It was a water burn that was an accident from her older sister. Her sister was drinking hot tea and Bloom accidentally bumped into her, having the tea spill all over her chest area. It became a second degree burn, but luckily, her mother knew what to do. She had to take her shirt off and place a cold water cloth against it with occasional breaks of the cloth for the wound to breathe. She was lucky that there was no scars thereafter, but it was definitely a burn that hurt for a long while.
She could tell that Serena was feeling better when she spent most of her time focusing on the hideous room. Bloom shrugged her shoulders when she mentioned that she did not even know that there was a bathroom here, and Bloom laughed. "I just followed my bladder instinct," she joked.
"This room does look a bit tattered. I wonder for how long it was abandoned for, and why they don't even think about locking the doors," she thought out loud. Bloom walked back to the Hufflepuff and looked at her hand. It seemed to be all right. Thankfully she did get it under cold water as soon as possible and it was only a splash, not an entire cup cull like she had to deal with a long time ago.
"Do you think you'll need to go to Madam Pomfrey?" she asked, making sure that the Hufflepuff remembered that we had a nurse and that they could go there if it was still hurting.

Serena laughed, "Man, I wish I had a bladder instinct," She joked, thinking about how useful such a thing would actually be. Like Bloom was joking but in all seriousness, it would prove to be an invaluable thing to have. It would save people from many panicked moments, where they were trying to avoid a major embarrassment from occurring.
"Who knows..." She replied, letting her gaze look around. The doors of some of the stalls were missing or broken, most of the mirrors have been smashed into pieces, there was mould growing... well, pretty much everywhere. "If I had to guess, 'too long' would be my answer." Serena continued as she realised that it had been abandoned so long ago that people had stopped cleaning it. "I wonder why they haven't repaired it... Surely it wouldn't take more than a few flicks here and there?" She didn't actually know the spells herself but surely the headmaster - or any number of the professors - would have been able to fix the place up within a few moments, with some flicks of their wand here and there. It couldn't take that much effort or be overly complicated. "No no, I'll be fine, don't worry." Serena confirmed, shaking her head. She didn't need to go get it checked out, it felt fine. In fact, she had pretty much forgotten all about it as she started to get lost in her surroundings.
"Or... why do you think it's been abandoned in the first place?" Serena said slowly... Uh oh. Now that was a creepy thought. The words had come out of her mouth before she had a chance to really think about it... She kind of wish that that creepy thought hadn't dawned on her, to be honest. There had to be a reason that all of it got damaged in the first place... A reason that it was left like this, despite everything. A reason it wasn't locked or fixed up... Was it just forgotten about? Or was there something else, something worse?

Observing with her chocolate brown eyes, Bloom could tell that it was definitely forgotten about. With the doors unlocked and everything so tattered from the floor to the ceiling, she resulted in the fact that it could be definitely forgotten. The Hufflepuff seemed to have a different thought in mind. "What? You think there's a secret hidden here?" she asked, "I wouldn't put it past Hogwarts though...," Bloom added.
Bloom thought the Hufflepuff to be very friendly and funny. Serena seemed that she would also be very outgoing within her house, which then made her wonder if she knew Reid, the Hufflepuff first year that she had been crushing on since she met him.
Bloom had a lot of insecurities. She truly believed that she was not good enough for Reid. She wants to tell him how much she likes him, but it could ruin their budding friendship. Bloom had to ask her in a very 'cool' manner. If she just brought up a name, Serena would know exactly why she was asking.
"I haven't met many Hufflepuffs this year. Do you guys like to hide about?" she joked, figuring out how to get to the question if she knew Reid. "Any Hufflepuff's I should meet?" she asked, her thin lips spread into a smile. This is a good start, she thought.

The Sticky Accident
"There has to be something!" Serena exclaimed, thinking it just didn't make sense otherwise. Perhaps this could lead to one of those secret pathways that another Hufflepuff mentioned to her. They were rumours, of course but there's always some truth to rumours. Besides, Hogwarts was full of mystery and castles were known to have underground caves or hidden passages. Even the boring muggle ones had them so surely Hogwarts would. The girl nodded as she started to walk around, slowly, observing the room in a bit more depth. It was hard to spot anything that looked out of place when the whole room was a wreck. Perhaps she had to find the one thing that worked and looked okay?
Laughing as she looked back over to Bloom, Serena shrugged lightly, "What can I say? We're a quiet bunch, I guess?" She replied. She had met a few Hufflepuffs around - mostly in the common rooms - but still not actually that many. It was a good point, where was everyone? Maybe they were just hiding from Serena. Or - and this was far more likely - Serena wasn't sociable enough to go talk to them all and make some new friends. The girl paused, "You should definitely meet, what's her face... Oh yeah, Serena. Serena Towers, she's a good one." Serena joked - completely joking because she had zero self-esteem and confidence to even remotely believe that that was true. Shaking her head, "I think everyone I've met so far is really friendly." She replied, far more earnestly. All of the Hufflepuffs were kind and loyal, after all.
Unfortunately, the little girl was so innocent that she completely missed Bloom's subtle approach to the whole conversation - whoops!

The Sticky Accident
Bloom enjoyed the fact that the Hufflepuff was very silly. It seemed that Bloom may need to be a little more straight forward, but how? How could she be straight forward and still hide her true intentions in asking?
She laughed with Serena and walked around with her. Wherever she went, Bloom would follow. She seemed more interested in the room's history than Bloom. Bloom was undoubtedly more interested in knowing what she knew about Reid. Bloom decided that maybe she has to be straightforward with Serena. What consequences was there? She could tell her not to tell Reid if she figures it out. But does she trust her enough with this secret?
Her eleven-year-old heart could not handle it anymore. She had to tell someone at school. The secret closed up inside her was way too much for her little heart and mind to handle. "I just was wondering if you've ever met Reid. He's a first year Hufflepuff like you," she said, a little nervous to have said his name. She's going to figure it out, she thought. Why else would I be mentioning someone's name specifically? she added. Bloom walked slightly behind the Hufflepuff, she began to play with her wrists out of nervousness. She was definitely awaiting some sort of 'do you like him?' question coming her way.
