A breezy encounter
It had been some time, in fact it had been to much time. Since, Quinn had come back to the sandy shores of the great lake to just relax and think to himself. The warmth of summer could still be felt though as the new school year quickly approached so too did the warmth of summer began to fade. The red head changed a bit, noticeably he had grown a few inches his face although still round, was a tad slimmer, and he did not seem as slim as before. That is if his robes were anything to go by.
At the moment a young Quinn had his footwear off a quick but gently breeze flowing over and between his toes. It was quite pleasant as he was sat down comfortably near the edge of the water. Though upon closer inspection as the boys fiery orange hair blew in the breeze, there was a tenseness to him. Faint as it be it was there, and it seemed that it was caused by his closeness to the water though he made no effort to move from there. Yes yes...quite the paradox that was unfolding if one came up on the sight.
Quinn's eyes were closed so he could feel the breeze coming through, hear the sounds of nature, smell the scents from his surroundings, though sadly he could not taste the saltiness in the air. Especially considering this was a fresh water lake. Ironic that he still had a severe fear of any large body of water, and for a time water in general. Yet he still loves it to no end. Again quite the paradox he found himself in.
He slowly opened them pulling out a small notebook and pencil he had brought from home. It seemed to be a sketchbook of sorts. "Well Queeny me boy, what shall we sketch today huh?" He spoke mostly to himself. Despite him being by himself, it seemed that he would not be opposed to the company of some one joining him or wanting to. Despite him already being at Hogwarts for a year now. He didn't really have friends outside of maybe one if he was lucky. That he actually knew and hung out with semi-regularly.

A breezy encounter
There was a certain breeze that the Great Lake seemed to carry. Gentle, but still enough to gust through your hair and move the blades of grass that grew between the sand and the trees. Frost had been here quite a few times. Even met a couple of her friends out here.
The girl breathed in the calm air around her, enjoying the background noise of the rolling water of the lake. Her hair swayed to the left as another round of breezes flew by. The lake could make anybody a bit more relaxed, no matter who they were. There was was just something about how the water glimmered as the sun hung over it that seemed so enchanting.
Frost held her leather boots in one hand and the strap of her knapsack in the other. The grains of sand under her feet felt familiarly warm. The ginger had come out to the shore more often now that it was summer time. Only to collect interesting looking objects she had found or to just explore a little more outside. After all, nature did have many things to offer.
But as the new school year approached, Frost realized that when she spent time out here alone with just her thoughts, it acted as a refresher. The girl hadn't changed too much over the time of being a first year student. She was still herself. Maybe her hair had gotten longer and maybe, just maybe, she had gotten a bit smarter. But, it was hard to knock the personality out of someone. Especially if they had been that way their whole life.
Just along the shoreline, the girl had spotted somebody. Their firey orange hair had stood out, and they had a boyish figure to them.
Making her way to them, Frost slung her leather knapsack over her shoulder and stuffed the metal object she was looking at into it. Maybe if she talked to whoever that was, she would end up making some more friends. Or an aquaintance at the least.
The small girl hurried her pace a little more until she stood right behind the boy.
He had pulled out a notebook and a pencil. "Well Queeny me boy, what shall we sketch today huh?" The boy had spoke. Right before she had reached out her hand to tap him on the shoulder.
Curiosity might have killed the cat, but who ever has fun with no curiosty at all?
"You can draw?" The ginger spoke up before she even realized. "I think that's really cool. I personally have no talent for art." The small smile on her lips grew a bigger. "I'm Frost by the way. Sorry If I scared you."
The girl held out her hand for him to shake, the breeze still blowing her ginger hair to the side.

The boy quickly stiffened letting out a high pitched yelped. Immediately after the sound left his lips, a dusty pink flush spread across his freckled covered cheeks. He whipped his head around to stare at whoever had startled him so. But before he could even get out a single word he was interrupted yet again by what she said next."You can draw? I think that's really cool. I personally have no talent for art."
Blueish-green met hazel brown and the red head couldn't help but stammer barely able to get his words out without stuttering on practically everyone. "W-W-Well Thank y-you. I-I mean yeah y-ye startled me, b-but also thanks f-for the c-c-compliment!" He managed to quickly say. Oh why was he acting so embarrassed!? Oh right...the very unbecoming yelp, although he was pretty sure at this point it could be classified as a squeal."I'm Frost by the way. Sorry If I scared you."
It had occurred to him that he was still staring at the girl, Frost as she had just told him. Probably staring for an uncomfortable amount of time and into her eyes no less. He mentally smacked himself and ran his thin fingers through his curls. Quinn had decided to try a new look, leaving the curly mess all in the middle but cutting the sides down so it wasn't as curly and keeping the whole mess a bit shorter this time. It had made for an interesting look that he quite liked. Less a mane now and more a mess.
"R-Right, um Quinn Healy s'me name and curiosity s'me game." He laughed hoping that cheesy little line helped smooth things over. He turned the rest of his body around setting the small sketch book down. The boy extended his hand towards her, "A pleasure to meet ye Frosty!"

I'm sorry I just could NOT find what shade of orange you were using. It might be this one but meh. Also, super sorry this is late!
Frost must have startled the boy to some extent, because the small yelp he let out couldn't be for anything else. He turned his head around sharply, looking up at her with a slight shade of crimson on his freckled cheeks.
"W-W-Well Thank y-you. I-I mean yeah y-ye startled me, b-but also thanks f-for the c-c-compliment!" The girl smiled at the red-haired boy and nodded, as if saying "no problem".
The boy seemed to radiate this feeling of serenity, I mean, considering he literally yelped a few seconds ago. His greenish-blue eyes stared right into her's as if he was looking for something. Maybe he was trying to remember her from somewhere but couldn't really figure it out.
The boy looked down, away from her eyes and ran a few of his fingers in the curly mess that was his hair. Frost beamed at him, her arm still outstretched, waiting for him to shake it. She bubbled out a small giggle, finding the boy to be quite peculiar. "So you got a name I can call you by, Mr. Stranger?" The girl peered at him with a smile that touched her hazel eyes.
"R-Right, um Quinn Healy s'me name and curiosity s'me game." The boy, Quinn laughed a little. He sure was a strange boy. Then again, most boys were strange. He turned the rest of his body to face the girl. Sticking out his hand, he said, "A pleasure to meet ye Frosty!" Hm, Frosty? That was a new one.
The ginger took his hand and gave it a firm, but not too powerful, shake. She smiled her cheerful little smile at him, releasing his hand. "Hm. Frosty. I quite like that nickname, Quinn," the girl tucked a strand of her auburn hair behind her ear. "I think I'll keep it, Mr. Healy." She nodded and smiled a goofy grin.
Frost set her bag onto the sand and sat down with her legs criss-crossed in front of the redheaded boy. Clearing her throat, the girl pushed her glasses back up. "Anyways, what are you doing out here, Mr. Quinn Healy?" She raised her eyebrows at him, quite curious to know why such a peculiar boy like him was sitting on the sand by himself. Surely he must have had some other strange friends.

color="#c44715" is the orange I use.
A light shade of pink dusted over his Rosie cheeks. He returned her goofy smile with his own sheepish one. "Nae, Quinn is fine." He softly spoke running his hands through his hair again. 'Come on Quinn stop being so nervous...This is usually your thing right!? Since when have you ever let embarrassment stop you?...That's right never!!' He thought to himself, shaking head quickly. He looked quite strange, his mess of curls swaying back and forth, practically bouncing at this point.Hm. Frosty. I quite like that nickname, Quinn, I think I'll keep it, Mr. Healy."
"Well...we haven't been back to these shores in a while. We missed it so we came by to relax here today." He spoke slowly, adding a small little shy smile to it. "We've been working on drawing, and thought we'd try drawing the lake and things round it." He laughed softly, "Today's too perfect ye know. It's kinda funny too. Ye'd think someone with a fear of water would be terrified of this lake. Yet I love it." His eyes softened, still retaining their curious sparkle. He curled his toes, and they dug into the surprisingly warm, and coarse sand. It felt weird, but a good weird between on his feet, especially between his toes. He pulled his knee closer to his chest, and held his sketchbook closely too shivering slightly."Anyways, what are you doing out here, Mr. Quinn Healy?"
"A-Anyway, we just came to enjoy the day. Honestly didn't expect anyone to be here, or to meet ye Frosty..." Truthfully it appeared that there was more he wanted to say but for some reason he didn't say anymore. Quite curious...

Thanks, Quinn
The boy, Quinn was shaking his head for some reason. Maybe he got sand in his hair or something. If anything, the guy had some weird obsession with his hair, running his hands through the firey curls. She shrugged it off. Like she said, quite strange.
"Well...we haven't been back to these shores in a while. We missed it so we came by to relax here today." How could someone not come to these shores? Then again, Frost being the starnge one this time, the ginger was the one who came here almost everyday. "We've been working on drawing, and thought we'd try drawing the lake and things round it." He smiled. Frost nodded. "Well, the lake is undoubtedly very pretty. So that's understandable." The boy laughed a little. "Today's too perfect ye know. It's kinda funny too. Ye'd think someone with a fear of water would be terrified of this lake. Yet I love it."
Wow. Now he was really seeming strange. The girl had never heard of someone who was afraid of the water. She looked at him, her hazel eyes meeting his. "You're afraid of water? Really? I've never met someone with a fear of water." Frost tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"A-Anyway, we just came to enjoy the day. Honestly didn't expect anyone to be here, or to meet ye Frosty..." Quinn had pulled his notebook close and rested it on his knee. Frost smiled. "I could say the same for you, Quinn." Her eyes wandered to the trees. "Well, I'm here, aren't I? Better me than a sand monster, right?" She teased, laughing a bit. "I come out here quite often, actually. I use my time outside like a refresher from the day." Frost stared at him. "You know what, you're quite a strange boy, Quinn." The girl laughed, fixing her glasses to the right position.

A breezy encounter
"Aye me be strange and lovin it!" Quinn quickly put his hands over his mouth, his cheeks beginning to turn a light shade of red. The outburst was quite sudden, but funny. 'Darn my force of habits. Why did she have to say that!? That's like impossible for me not to respond too!' He internally cursed his strange existence."I could say the same for you, Quinn." Her eyes wandered to the trees. "Well, I'm here, aren't I? Better me than a sand monster, right? I come out here quite often, actually. I use my time outside like a refresher from the day. You know what, you're quite a strange boy, Quinn."
Quinn was definitely one of the stranger lot you know. He didn't exactly fit into any of the norms, did what he wanted, and normally didn't care what people thought. Well today was one of those days where he was a bit more self conscious about his actions. On the outside he was audibly mumbling his thoughts, without noticing, just staring at her again. Eventually he realized that he was staring, "Oh blast it! Forgive me Frosty, I must have gotten stuck in thought again."Quinn did his best to laugh it off.
Eventually he shook his head, and just decided it was best to continue with the conversation and stop making it so darn weird. "So I know this is might be strange to ask, but I'm curious to know. Do you like the star?" His accent was still quite thick, and he was using his normal way of speech. He needed to remember that not everyone could understand what he was saying or talking about if he kept in that same mind sight. Perhaps that's why his mother taught him how to talk similar to the Americans and British. There way of talking was a bit strict and strange to Quinn but if it helped it helped.

A breezy encounter

The girl giggled a little at the boy's sudden outbrust. It was funny, considering that 'strange' wasn't usually taken as a compliment. But it was a good thing to be strange. Different from normal, though Frost thought that normal was a bit boring. It was nice to see someone different for a change.
The boy seemed to get flustered at the remark he made, his cheeks a light tint of red. Quinn stared at her, mumbling incoherent words. Frost tilted her head, her eyebrows raising at him like a puppy. "Hm?" Maybe he was just talking to himself, something that happened to some people who weren't fortunate enough to have the ability to keep it all inside their heads.
Frost was taken aback at the boy's sudden apology. The girl shook her head understandingly. She smiled. "No, it's alright. Sometimes thoughts are easy to slip into, I guess." The ginger tucked a strand of her straight hair behind her ear.
Quinn had asked her if she liked the star. Star? What star? The sun, because that's technically a star, or like the constellations they learned about in astronomy class? Either one of them were fairly pretty and brought a smile to the girl's face. But then again, almost everything could make her laugh or smile.
Her eyebrows knit together in question. "Star? Do you mean like the sun or constellations?" Frost played with the sand, drawing little figures and squiggles in it. "I mean, I quite like both, I guess." She shrugged, not really having a clue of what he might have ment. I mean, who asks about stars when it's the middle of the day?
She stared, but not the awkward kind of stare when it's just really uncomfortable, into the boy's blue eyes, her head still a bit tilted. Her eyes a bit narrowed, she realized that he might not be saying the right word, or maybe she just misheard him. "You do mean stars, like the ones in the sky, don't you? Or do you mean something different?"

A breezy encounter
'Oh no...' Quinn nearly face palmed at the simple little mess up in his statement. He must have confused Frosty quite a bit. 'Well...Queenie you just made quite the fool of ye self that ye did.' He sighed his cheeks going a brighter shade of red out of small embarrassment. "Y-Yes that's what I meant stars, an yes I do know its an odd question to ask in the middle of the day." He chuckled desperately wanting to move pass his little mess up."You do mean stars, like the ones in the sky, don't you? Or do you mean something different?"
"It's just...days like this...they remind of the nights I would spend with Brannigan. He would show me the stars, tell me what each constellation was about, he even showed me how I could navigate using them though..." He chuckled rubbing the back of his neck, "I'm still not nearly as good as him, but I know enough to get bad!" He quickly added not wanting to embarrass himself further.
When he talked about Brannigan and his own love of the stars, a softness came to his face and for a bit he relaxed. Whoever this Brannigan was he was obviously someone Quinn was very close to, but from the way he talked. It sounded as if something happened to him or he was no longer here, though you could not tell.
"S-Sorry again I know it was a bit random, I just couldn't help but ask. You seem like the inquisitive and curious type."

A breezy encounter

The girl couldn't help but involuntarily let out a giggle. The boy's cheeks flushed a rosy tint, which seemed to be a normal occurrance with him. Seriously. She probably hasn't seen someone become that blushy that quick in a while. But, it was fine with her. Quinn could be the blushiest and strangest boy to every exist, but Frost would still try to be friends with him. Because that was her weird way of life of non-judgyness.
Stars were what the boy was going for, but it was either her hearing or his talking that became slurred for a second. But the ginger nodded with her smiley smile at him. She understood now, mentally doing one of those cartoon 'phew' things. "It may be odd for the middle of the day, yes, but I love the stars. I used to go stargazing with my sister and brother a lot before Hogwarts. My father would even try to name the stars even though they already had names." Frost's mind turned itself into a planetarium showing only some of the stars she could remember. Stargazing was a hobby of hers. Her father even got her a special telescope for looking at them better. "But, since there's a curfew here at Hogwarts, I can't really look at them that much any more."
It wasn't depressing or anything, but not being able to look at the stars as much as she'd like to was saddening of course. Especially since she was quite good at observing the bright dots in the dark sky. Not that it took a lot to be good at it. Quinn seemed to have his own interest in stars as well as his friend 'Brannigan', whoever he was. Brannigan seemed to have a close relationship with Quinn, based on how he looked while talking about him. Or maybe that was just his love for stars.
A warm smile spread across Frost's face. "Well, in that case, my dear sir, you would be correct. Though I would say that 'Inquisitive and Curious' is a much better description than what most would consider too many questions." Usually, the girl would get hit with a big ol' 'why do you ask so many questions' or 'polite girls shouldn't ask so many things and just stay quiet'. But there were a few people who encouraged her questions and liked that she had so many.
Not that the girl wanted to pry, but like the boy had already pointed out, she was most definitely the curious type. So, it was a question she was bound to ask. Frost couldn't help but do what she did best, speak up and dump her questions onto somebody. The naive girl would poke around like a stick with a bear, not stopping to consider that asking could potentially make Quinn become sensitive. "Not to be nosy and annoying, or anything, but would you mind telling me who this 'Brannigan' is? Does he go to Hogwarts as well?"
