It’s Picnic Time! PV Audrey Gallant & Brookline Quinn Closed

Trudging through the plain, exquisite area, Audrey huddled through the warm, fresh air, admiring the scent of roses at the courtyard. The wafering smell of the perfume-like tulips and squawking birds in the sky made the courtyard felt special to her - a majestic place to start her day, her picnic date with two of her best friends, Giselle and Brooke. Not long after, she'd saw Giselle waving at her from a distance, crossing her feet while sitting on a red-and-white piece of some large checkered cloth. Giselle delicately placed a basket filled with food and drinks, and she could tell that there's a pudding hidden in the brownish old basket that was brought by Giselle, because the mouth-watering scent of a Yorkshire Pudding. She'd remembered how her mum had baked that delicious egg tart along with her. Grinning at the thought, she continued carrying her bag - a bag filled with some snacks that you'd expect a pure-blood to carry on. She'd hoped she would impress the both of them, due to the fact that she felt that she wasn't half-blooded enough, thus she decided to make it up for the both of them.

"Giselle!" As soon as Audrey glanced at the long, wavy hair, she new immediately that it was her - no doubts. She bent down and sat on the carpet (or cloth - she couldn't really tell the difference). She could tell that Giselle wanted to know what's inside it as the strong, sweet scent began to wafer into their noses. "This," Audrey patted at her basket. "Is a secret. But I'll open it after Brooke comes, tops," She tried laughing at her own joke, but suddenly thought that it wasn't a joke at all, so she kept quiet.

Changing her point of view, she sniffed around the environment. Giselle was setting up the food and drinks, and Audrey helped her, smiling as the thought of it came across her. This was going well so far. "Now look who's here!" she exclaimed and waved vigorously, trying to get the girl's attention. She looked just like Giselle, but her blue eyes are the ones that set the both of them apart - apart from Brooke being Welsh and Giselle being English.

Grabbing her cloak, Brooke headed out of the Ravenclaw Common Room with a little basket of food. She had stolen some food from Hogsmeade the last time she went. She liked doing this, sneaky was her thing.

As Brooke walked to the Courtyard, clutching the basket for the picnic that she, Giselle and Audrey planned. Birds over head twitted, and squirrels started chattering, few of their acorns dropping down unexpectedly by Brooke’s foot. What in Merlin is that supposed to mean!? she thought, startled.

Getting back on track, Brooke saw her friends sitting down on some cloth-like-thing? Audrey was waving quickly to her. Running now, Brooke hurried to her close friends. “Hi guys! Sorry I’m late, I thought I had lost this basket,” Brooke exclaimed, settling herself on the edge of the cloth-like- thing.

Placing her basket in front of her, she smiled at her friends. She was lucky to have them. The aroma smelt good, the food smelt good. Brooke smelt more food. It was one of the baskets that Giselle or Audrey brought. She just couldn't tell. ”Mmm, whoever made that, please tell them that they’re a really good chef,” She said, closing her eyes and smelling the tasty aroma.

Seeing Brooke walk into the courtyard, Giselle grinned. She was lucky to have such good friends to spend a day - perhaps a picnic, as they had brought enough food for three. Smiling at her friends, Giselle grinned. It was quite a different thing to be with them and sharing goods, and free time… would be heaven to them.

Now that everyone’s here, let’s start the picnic!

Giselle then took a packet of wizard crackers which were stacked underneath her basket, and settled them on the carpet, watching some of them explode with joy. Trying to catch the blue wisp of smoke to see what unique gift did it guarantee, Giselle smirked.

Cheers! Giselle then shouted joyfully, unaware of her surroundings.

Giselle began holding up a little package, beginning to unwrap it. She bought a few skiving snackboxes and U-No-Poos for Audrey and Brooke. She knew that Audrey was not a fan of breaking rules, but she just couldn’t help giving things to her besties.

It’s going to come in useful some day,

Giselle mainly told Audrey that as she handed them to her friends, winking and smirking at the direction of Brooke.

Once Giselle and Audrey settled down all the food, it was time to get started. This is certainly going to be the best day ever! Oh, how I wish we could break some rules too!

Ahh, how nice the weather is today, she yawned, stretching her arms. She was beginning to enjoy herself more and more now.

Suddenly Giselle remembered something, as a thought popped into her head.

Audrey said that she had a secret that she’ll show to us when Brooke comes, and she already did…

Unable to wait, Giselle asked, What is the secret that you promised to tell us?

"Now that everyone's here, let's start the picnic!" Giselle mouthed enthusiastically. She then toppled some Wizard Crackers on the carpet, and even though Audrey raised her eyebrow, she continued, "Cheers!" She wondered what she was going to respond, 'Butterbeer's the best'? As she unwrapped the packaging, it let out a deafening 'Bam!' that would've 'killed' the three of them, if it weren't for that Giselle had placed them under the basket when opening. "Gosh, Giselle," Audrey replied sarcastically. "How many times are you going to let that slide?" She then tried to slap her forehead but failed to do so, because Brooke had spoke at last "Mmm, whoever made that, please tell them that they're a good chef," of course, she was confused with what was going on, the typical Brooke behaviour (even though she's going to kill me if I do say it out).

Luckily, Giselle interrupted and asked me, unable to control her emotions anymore. She blurted, "What's the secret you promised to tell us, Audrey?" Audrey replied with nothing but a grin. She then opened her basket, revealing to nothing more than a Mince Pie. "And don't you go asking me why, okay?" She then put her index finger on her lips, shushing them out. Well, they would know if they do.

Taking the aromaliciously-filled pie, she cut it into three pieces - using a Muggle knife. Obviously, she hadn't learned the correct spell to cut things, especially on this occasion. She then put each pie on a plate (Muggle one, of course) and put some cutlery beside it. "Serve yourselves," she grinned, hoping that they would enjoy the pie. She'd spent way too much on that, just so that she'd recall. She then took one of the plates and started eating them. "Mmm. Hmm mmm mm." she was too focused on eating that delicious pie that she couldn't speak clearly.

Watching her friends get out their food and things out of the baskets, she took out her food she had stolen from Hogsmeade. Holding them out to the two Hufflepuffs, she asked, “Peppermint Imps, anyone?”

Brooke noticed Giselle take out U-No-Poo and a few skiving snackboxes. Giggling uncontrollably, she winked back, and fell back on the cloth-like-thing. When she heard Audrey, she saw that the girl had tried to slap herself on the forehead. Brooke could tell that Audrey was annoyed with this before.

Sitting up again, Audrey had opened her basket now. A delightful aroma swirled around it, making Brooke sigh in happiness. That was the smell she has smelt when shs arrived! And it smelt familiar. Brooke realized what it was and almost gasped if she hadn’t stopped herself. Audrey had snuck into Hogsmeade herself! And it seems like Giselle didn’t either. Audrey! Brooke almost exclaimed before shutting herself when Audrey shushed the two girls.

Brooke smiled leprechaunishly, and watched Audrey bring out a sliver knife, some sliver cutlery and a white plate. feel free to correct me if its not sliver or white! When a plate was passed to her,she licked her lips, and joyfully said, “Thank you for getting this Audrey.”

She began eating it joyfully. You could tell that Brooke loved pies the way she was eating it. Smiling, the Welsh girl looked at her friends, she then looked at the sky, and sighed. She was glad for pie, for magic, Hogwarts so she could get away from her annoyingly wizard father, for best friends, for everything. She was going to be sad when the last day would approach.

Giselle let out a scream of delight when she saw the mince pie, placed in front of all three of them. All of a sudden, Giselle felt like it was a fire in front of them, its flames roaring merrily, with its vivid light of day. Eagerly taking a slice of the pie, she grinned. Before in honeydukes, she had never bought it, and was she surprised when she found out that it was there the whole time. Releasing a chuckle, Giselle took out some of her sweets and placed them in a basket, pushing it to the middle of the blanket.

Failing to notice the look on Audrey’s face as the wizard crackers came out, Giselle took out even more Skiving Snackboxes and said, rather smilingly, Have one of these, they are really useful! D’ya want to bunk history of magic sometime next week? Used one of those before…they were absolutely splendid! She then waited for their reply, while joking, Got a lot of sweets here in honeydukes, though. Try this sticky caramel!

Finishing the last bite of the mince pie, a thought came to Giselle. Ah, this is relaxing…wanna fly broomsticks out there everyone? We can nick some of the school brooms, though. It’ll be great fun!

Brooke let out a light laugh when she heard Giselle ’s scream. She hadn’t thought that nobody liked mince pie more than her.

Gasping, Brooke’s gaze streaked over to Giselle. She couldn't believe anyone would bunk History Of Magic. “Are you being serious? Are you kiddin’ me?” She exclaimed rapidly. Without giving Giselle a chance to answer, Brooke giggled and said with rather overemphasized angry as if she was joking, “History of Magic is one of the best class.” Then she started giggling as if she couldn't stay angry at one of her best friends for long.

Brooke wasn’t really listening to Giselle’s statement til she heard the words, “nick”, “brooms”, “fun”. Her head yanked up and she exclaimed, “Yes, lets do it. Audrey, you in?” audrey, if you don’t want to “nick” brooms with Brooke, and Giselle, you could always watch!

Brooke stood up, she looked at the Pitch. Then she started laughing. She sat down again. “This is going to so much fun! Did you guys know that I’ve done it before? Justin @Justin Shin, and Andy @Andy Loggins, well I (ooc) should say in process and I, we’ve done it before! Though Giselle might be able to steal them faster,” She smiled. Waiting for an response from the two Hufflepuff girls, Brooke giggled inwardly. She knew this was gone be very fun. And very naughty.

"Nick some school brooms?" Audrey repeated, trying to recall what Giselle and Brooke had just said. "To be honest, yeah, I'm in," She could see the shocking faces she'd expect. "Yeah, yeah, I know," Audrey scratched her head. "I just want to try, that's all," She then turned her attention towards the sticky caramel Giselle just bought. Yum, she thought. Just kinda too chewy.

Just then, Brooke stood up and looked at the Pitch. Sometimes, Audrey wondered whether Brooke had a passion for Quidditch. She just felt like the type of person who would go for Quidditch at this point. "This is going to be so much fun!" Brooke shrieked. "Did you guys know that I've done it before with Justin and Andy -" Audrey wondered, who are they? Perhaps she's just too much of an introvert to find out. "- though Giselle might be able to steal them faster," she finished. Well, Audrey thought. Giselle's definitely skilled to do that. Sure, the Giselle could do anything, from stealing to pranking. Moving on to herself, she felt like as if she could accept more sorts of punishments, unlike the past year version of her, being too much of a perfectionist (but not quite) to dare to break rules. She felt something new. Something unexpected. And that was that.

"Mmm," Audrey clutched, still stuck with the sticky caramel Giselle provided. "Jugttehbasisdehenidinelftehgitretofdis?" Giggling furiously, she pointed at Giselle. "Dosd," She then rolled her eyes sarcastically, trying hard to get rid of the sticky caramel. I swear, Giselle, Audrey muttered. I'm going to kill you with that sticky caramel of yours. Why would she fall for that anyway? But still, she felt weird that she'd agreed to break some rules with her rule-breaking besties, which wasn't what Audrey would do.

Glancing at the pitch, she (tried to) gobble up her mince pie, and after a few (struggling) tries, she'd managed to finish her pie and clean up the sticky caramel. "Wow," Audrey said loudly, trying to get Giselle's attention. "Nice caramel out there, you know," She tried to roll her eyes again, but laughed after doing so.

Finally Giselle blurted out, Which Justin? It’s not Justin Shin, is it? He is so mean to me, and always made fun of me, especially the time when we were outside the History of Magic class!

She really couldn’t believe that one of her besties, Brooke, would’ve been about to cope up with someone as beastly as that! Poor Brooke, she thought.

You… you don’t mean… seriously?

Giselle found herself blushing with pride as Brooke told her that she would be able to do it faster.

Er.. yeah, yeah, I’ll do my best, and I’ll try not to get caught. Though please don’t come with me, I really don’t want us all in detention even before the fun starts! If you don’t see me returning in ten minutes, just wait, don’t look for me, deal? I will tell you if I was caught … when I meet you. Though I really hope that I won’t, and we’ll have much more fun!

Waving to her friends, she headed back to the castle, with a mischievous smile on her face.

It was then Giselle suddenly had another thought, that she should change direction. The brooms were at the quidditch training pitch, of course! Running forwards towards the training pitch, Giselle slipped into a spot where she could not be seen.

Do it now.

Nobody seemed to notice her at all, and she was glad. She was so not going to get detention and she knew it. I can do it, she told herself firmly.

As she reached towards a cupboard that was well separated from anyone in sight, Giselle glanced backwards, and after a moment’s hesitation, shot inside and closed the door quietly. As she saw what was in it, she heaved a sigh of relief.

Good. The broom cupboard, that’s exactly what I wanted!

It was hard to take out the brooms as they were hung near the ceiling, and Giselle tried to think of a spell that could bring it to her. It only took a second for Giselle to find out which spell she was to use - the levitation charm. Listening intently to hear that there weren’t any footsteps, she slowly took out her wand from her pocket.

Wingardium Leviosa!

Her casting seemed quite accurate, for one of the brooms levitated for a while in the air, hitting the ceiling. There it began to tumble down, and Giselle caught it with both her hands.

Close, she thought. I could’ve been heard, the noise it would make!

As she steadily did the same to two other brooms, catching them, Giselle heaved a sigh of relief. It seemed as though she had successfully completed the job, she found out that only two minutes passed, for her speed came much, much faster than her usual pace as she was a witch, after all, and she could protect herself just like that.

Running back towards her two friends, she grinned and showed them the brooms, handing a broom to each.
