"Throw me to the wolves, and I'll come back leading the pack,"
It was raining. Raining. Brooke didn't like the rain, when it soaked her clothes, it just felt cold and clammy and weird and ugh. But she was huddled by the door, waiting for the rain to subside.

Rain was horribly horrific. Why did God create wet rain! Couldn't he have created rain but when it lands on you, it feels like nothing? Why? she thought, her head leaning against the wall as she sat with her knees brought to her breasts, hugging her knees in complete boredom. Sure, rain was wonderful. When you didn't get wet.

As Brooke stayed there, her gaze flickered this way and that way, and this way, she was bored in fact, she as a pureblood, growing up wasn't this boring! So why was it boring now?

All Brooke wanted to do was just be outside. Outside was her haven wherever she was. Being outside gave her the thrill of life, thrills and laughter didn't go by really far unless you were outside according to Brooke. She decided to take a chance.

She hauled herself up, making herself go to whole height. Why the hell am I doing this? The pretty Welsh girl asked herself, a inch away from the falling rain. She stepped one foot, and another. "Ick!" she exclaimed as the sparkling raindrops dropped to her shoes, soaking them, she jumped back in fright and disgust. Why couldn't she be a normal kid for once?

I'm eleven, why am even thinking of doing this? Brooke thought, shuddering in disgust.

But she tried again, placing one shoe in the wet rain. Ughhh. she thought as she shrieked in alarm as rain soaked her plaid's sleeve, she jumped back again, slumping against the wall once more, her head banged purposely on the wall.

"Shit, why did I do that? Now my head hurts," Brooke said aloud, rubbing the painful spot on the back of her head. She realized the wetness of her sleeve when it hit her skin. She groaned and peeled the blue stripped plaid off, showing some tanned shoulders.

She sighed. Why can I be a normal kid for once?

Elodie hummed softly to herself, her robes swishing as the girl strolled down the cobbled path, rain dripping from her hood. A leather-bound book was shoved down her robes and clutched to her chest to protect the pages from the droplets. She'd never minded the rain, for it reminded her of her birthplace, a miniscule muggle village in Wales.

She sighed with nostalgia, taking off her glasses, for the lenses had become smeared by rain. She slipped them under the robes to wipe the lenses clean on her undershirt before sliding them back onto her nose and continuing her stroll.

As the girl moved up the path, she started at the sight of a fellow Ravenclaw, someone she'd seen in passing in the Ravenclaw tower, though had never built up the courage to approach her.

Elodie paused at the doorway, her big brown eyes going wide behind her glasses at the sight of the girl hitting her head on the wall. ``o-oh! Ah, are you okay?!`` she stammered nervously, her welsh accent especially thick with her nervous yammering.

The girl tucked a stray strand of chocolate brown hair, streaked with pale blonde, into the hood of her robes behind her ear. She rocked back and forth on her heels, looking down shyly and plucking wisps of cat fur from the black fabric. Elodie would have to make sure to keep Minnow off of her robes from now on.

As she awaited the girl's response, Elodie stepped through the doorway and pulled her books from her robes, anxiously examining it for damage from the rain.

"But that's just the trouble with me. I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it."

Extending out an invitation of a dance party to @Brookline Quinn and @Elodie Norman. Open to any and all interactions.

It wasn't past curfew or anything like that but a prefect's work was never truly finished. One of the areas that Simon was assigned to was the school's Courtyard and it was his most heavily trafficed and most frequented place for students to hang out. Usually it was for students to have a place to read books, use as a shortcut between classes, or just take a moment to take in some fresh air without having to go all the way to the Grounds. Some fresh air sounded pretty good to this dhampir after being caught up indoors for most of the day due to lessons and the Courtyard would be most likely empty due to the falling rain upon the Scottish Highlands.

Two Ravenclaws stood at the entrance to the Courtyard, both seemingly staying out of the rain - one soaked and the other dry. "Been raining all day, hasn't it?" Simon said as he paused where both of them were and extended out his hand beyond the entrance so that the raindrops could fall upon him. It didn't feel too cold; that was good. This was November so sometimes some pretty frigid temperatures were upon them but today was somewhat mild. Mild enough.

"Well, you know what they say, life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... It's about learning to dance in the rain," and he smiled widely about the use of the cliche and stepped out into the Courtyard. Simon lifted his head up to the sky and let the water fall upon his face a moment before outstretching both of his arms and turning in a slow circle, just gathering his surroundings.

"Anyone fancy a little Gene Kelly? Singin' in the Rain? I know all the lyrics and we can have our own little dance party, right here, right now."

"Throw me to the wolves, and I'll come back leading the pack,"
A Ravenclaw girl walked over to Brooke, asking if she was ok. “Oh yes, I'm fine, thanks. I'm Brookline,” Brook stood up; her Welsh accent thicker and awkwardly than she'd like. Th girl was soaked and her hair was brunette with streaks of blonde .

She then saw an older boy, a perfect and by the looks of it, a Hufflepuff, walking in the rain. Brooke shuddered; she could not see how the boy didn't feel at all what she usually felt when wet clothes met her tan skin.

“Yeah, I love being outside but I hate the rain, been waitin’ for it to stop,” Brooke said, her awkwardness rose even higher than before.

When she heard the boy spoke about a quote, it was familiar,.just not one she heard often. That's actually a good quote, she told herself, finding that she liked what some people though

“I- I'll try, Brooke stammered, the thought of dancing in the rain was interesting and sounded fun but it also meant soaked clothes. She slowly walked where the roof ends and she took a step. Her foot instantly soaked, and she let out a loud squeak. “sorry,” she mumbled.

She to another step, trying to get use to the water.

Elodie sighed with relief at the reassurance from her fellow ravenclaw, glancing over her shoulder and jumping at the sight of an older Hufflepuff. Older students at Hogwarts had always made her anxious, for she'd extensively studied and knew exactly how deadly the spells older students learned at this school.

No matter how much awe this school inspired, Elodie was careful to be weary. She'd been raised a muggle her whole life, and despite her extensive studies into magic, she was still vulnerable in comparison to her pureblood classmates, who'd spent their entire lives learning about the magical world around them.

Her eyes, like two pools of the darkest chocolate in the shadows cast over the sun by the rainclouds, carefully examined this newcomer. She hesitated, nervous to offend this new arrival.

``I mean, I can try, I suppose. I did this a bit when I was younger, how hard could it be?``

She offered up a rather shy smile and nodded encouragingly to the other girl before stepping into the rain, slipping her glasses into the folds of her robes and raising her face to the sky, smiling at the feeling of the cool raindrops on her skin.

The sky was a swirl of gray, clouds completely concealing the sun as they drifted high above.

"But that's just the trouble with me. I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it."

Ready to dance with @Brookline Quinn and @Elodie Norman. Open to any and all interactions.

Besides the wet rain, the weather was absolutely perfect for November. It wasn't warm, granted, but all three there in attendance had on clothing to keep them warm. "I know the Hot Air Charm, the drying spell, if we get too chilled or soaked beyond the point we can stand it," he encouraged the other two.

The darker haired Ravenclaw came forward, ready to at least make the attempt and Simon smiled widely and hoped the other Ravenclaw would follow suit. As she raised her head to look up toward the sky, he got an idea. "I've got just the thing we need!" he said and Simon hurried over to where his bag was within the entrance. He opened it and riffled through it a moment. Sometimes it was tricky to find what you wanted in an enchanted satchel since it held SO much. Finally he found what he was looking for and pulled out a wizarding radio and set it down near the stone wall, out of the raindrops' reach so it would stay dry. He turned a button and a voice could be heard. "And here's a favorite from clear back to 1905, composed by muggle jazz musician, Glenn Miller. Get ready to swing, get ready to jive - here's 'In the Mood!'"

The radio host couldn't have played a more perfect song in that moment. Simon smiled over to the one girl, hoping she'd come join, and hurried back out into the falling rain where the other was. "Ready to dance?"

Elodie paused for a moment to squint at the magical radio in fascination, its blurry figure fascinating to the girl. Without her glasses, the world looked rather odd, as if it was an oil painting left in the rain.

She shook off the fascination that arose at the introduction of another wondrous magical item into her rapidly expanding knowledge. Radios had been rather expensive in her tiny, nameless village, but her mother had kept one in the pub she ran to keep the family afloat.

Elodie recalled particularly rainy and boring days after she helped clean the pub, days when she would sit on a stool with her legs dangling as she listened to the radio, her young attention captured by such a thing. It had seemed like magic, though the girl now knew that actual magic was much more wondrous.

She sighed with a small smile, her wet strands of hair clinging to her cheeks. Her robes were steadily becoming soaked, heavier with every raindop.

Elodie slipped off her robes, left in black leggings, a long-sleeved button up shirt, and a sage green skirt that reached her knees. The clothes were thick enough to preserve both her warmth and modesty, as well as being less heavy that the robes.

The girl set her robes next to the radio, careful to place them far enough from the item to ensure it remained dry before stepping back into the rain.

``Oh, this is a great song!`` She giggled, bouncing up and down excitedly. Her love for music had overcome her hesitance, and all she wanted was to throw caution to the wind and dance the day away.

"But that's just the trouble with me. I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it."

"Throw me to the wolves, and I'll come back leading the pack,"
Nodding to the boy, Brooke took another step out into the rain. eww, she thought as the rain soaked her tank top. Another step, another step. After a third step she was completely soaked. Another step.

After some thinking, Brooke decided to dance along with the songs trying to ignore the way the rain made her skin itch. The sound of the music made all her worries disappear and never come back. But of course they would but the sound made it sound like it.

The wizard radio looked like a muggle item to Brooke. Was it? Or wizard made muggle item? What it was didn’t apply to Brooke right now, she wanted to get as least wet as she could and by that, she had to move. Dance. Do something, moving wise.

Bouncing, the Ravenclaw girl giggled, exclaiming about the song. Agreeing, Brooke nodded.

“This is a pretty good song!” Exclaiming, Brooke’s hair got caught in her face. Ick, she thought, pushed it out of her face, and continued dancing to the radio singing their pretty tune.

Beaming, her great dark blue eyes sparkling like diamonds, Brooke realized this was all she needed to revive her stress and worries. Hmm, I guess dancing in the dreadful rain isn't that bad, thinking deeply, Brooke looked above, and grey clouds was swirling, swimming, twisting, dancing, and shedding cold tears in the pale dark sky.

Offering to help dry off @Brookline Quinn and @Elodie Norman

Simon was glad that some Glenn Miller could bring some brightness into this darkened cloudy sky day there at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Courtyard of all places. Most of the students were indoors - probably taking refuge either in their dormitories or the Library but at least for the moment these three weren't letting a little rain spoil their good time. It was an impromptu little dance party, one that he wished AngelFyre McCubbin had been there for but they couldn't always be attached at the hip, sadly so.

The song was too short though, and when it ended the radio person went to a commercial break and that's when Simon walked over to his radio and drew down the volume with a turn of a knob. It was a good that the song was ending as it was because the rain was beginning to fall harder. "If anyone should choose, I know the drying spell. I promise I've perfected it," although he couldn't say the same for all his wandcasting unfortunately. "I won't cause you to explode or turn blue," he smiled widely. "We'll just get out of the rain right over there," and he pointed to the entry way of the Courtyard before slipping the radio into his enchanted satchel and began that way.

Simon headed that way and drew out his wand, performing the hot air charm on himself and then slipping his wand temporarily away in his pocket while he grabbed his comb of vanity from the satchel and instantly his hair was back to being perfect - not the wet mess it was moments ago. The boy was a little particular about that hair of his, but if you asked him, it was one of his greatest assests.

Rain. Rain!

Emily couldn't be happier. If people ever wondered just how much Emily loved rainy weather, this was a prime example of it.

After a topsy turvy week of successful spells, slightly less successful potions and sheer transfiguration frustration - and some confused whining during her homework assignments over the weekend - she was ready to embrace the new week with a fresh start. To think that the universe had heard her simple wish and had rewarded her with the soft pour of rain to wash off last week's events.

She paraded about the courtyard in full energy while everyone else was cowering back inside, embracing the soft dampness in her clothes as the rain fell down upon her. She already felt better. Sure her hair was getting a bit wet and her ribbon was slowly falling out but nothing a little "shake out the ol' hair and re-tying it" to help keep it up could fix.

She could see the shine on the gravel as the downpour continued, the welcomed smell of petrichor as the trees and plants bathed in the drops from where they stood. It was something she felt was rather overlooked by others. Sure, magic swirls and spells were fun, but nothing to her could beat the magic of nature.

The sound of music played the further she travelled along the courtyard and before she knew it she spotted three students. All of whom she recognised.

The tall blonde boy she knew instantly. Simon! And by the looks of it he had the same idea Emily had. Hair can be tedious sometimes when it got wet, she'd give him that. The other two girls, Elodie and Brookline, she also knew. Mostly through the classes she had with them but one could learn a lot through idle chatter.

She could see a radio placed between them all. Ah, so that's where the music came from...! Emily couldn't resist the grin that plastered her face when she watched them all in their beaming energy. It wasn't long before she came over to them with a cheerful leap in her stride.

"Hi you guys! Nice moves for some nice weather!"
