"You sure we cant get any closer to the train?..it's kinda crowded around here what if I don't make it in time?" A worried voice spoke amongst the many families bidding goodbye. Janet was clutching her fathers hand, as he held her trunk in his other. A woman in her mid-30s followed, joy and pride on her face as they walked toward the train to send their daughter off to begin her journey.
"Janet let go of your father, it's time to board the train. you'll get there just fine, now hurry or you won't find a seat", Janet's mother spoke with a rush yet had gentle humor to it as she joked about not finding a seat. Janet would give an anxious nod, taking her trunk and stepping onto the train with a worried smile. She tripped on her trunk every few steps before she climbed into the only empty one she found, sliding her trunk beneath her seat and settling against the window. They stared out the lightly smudged glass at her parents with a wave, eyes drifting away to her lap anxiously staring down into them.
She sat, glancing into the busy aisle as other kids passed the compartment reuniting with friends, or sitting with family. She could feel the joy in the air, excitement for what may come. She leaned over, reaching to her trunk as she grabbed a book from it, sitting down as she began o journal her thought's of what had happened so far, and her surroundings doodling small things amongst the owners of the page. Mimicking the look of the compartment door as it surrounded her writing margin. letting her mind get lost in her writing while she enjoyed the muffled silence of her compartment.

"Get a move on, Mae!"
Mae jerked out of her daydreams to the sound of her brother's voice. Of course she was moving! She didn't want to miss the train!
"Are you all right, Mae? Maybe you shouldn't go..."
"Mum, I'm fine."
She pushed through the crowd (including her five younger siblings), to reach her brother.
"Are you ready, Tom?"
"I've been ready for the past ten minutes! And call me Thomas at school. Or better yet, don't talk to me at all."
Rude, thought Mae as Tom, escuse me, Thomas, walked off to find his friends. Then she grabbed her trunk, said goodbye to her parents, and hopped on the train.
Oh joy, people. I hope there's an empty compartment.
Unfortunately, there wasn't. Mae ran back and forth the whole train, but there wasn't. Eventually, as the train started moving and she nearly fell over, Mae just began looking for a relatively empty one. Fortunately, she found one with only one person in it. She stood outside the door awkwardly for a moment. Should she knock? Wait for an invitation? Just walk in? Eventually, she just knocked and walked in.
"Mind if I sit here?" she said a bit gruffly.
Not waiting for an answer, she sat down and buried her face in a book. Please don't talk to me, she thought, and promptly lost herself in her book.

Lucie has boarded the Hogwarts Express without letting a single tear leave her eye, but not with difficulty. they will miss their father but they have to temporarily leave the nest sometimes. ”Lucielia Night-Cortez, we’ll see dad during Christmas break, don’t be a sissy.” The voice of Liam, one of their bothers, rings out.
Lucie punched him in the arm halfheartedly before saying bye and making their way into a compartment. They are shocked and delighted to see that there are already two girls in it, they of course made their way inside saying hello and making their way to the closest seat to the door by the drawing girl with brown hair. There is a blonde but she doesn’t look like a particularly social person, Lucie instead of just sitting still opts to read a book that they got from their father’s bookshop. Lucie thanked Merlin that their sister has their trunk and will put it where it goes after the train.
There is about 20 minutes of silence before Lucie gets sick of it. Slamming the book closed they say, ”Okay, the silence was okay at first but now it’s suffocating. How about introductions? I’ll start. Hey, I’m Lucielia but I prefer Lucie. What are your names?” Lucie doesn’t like silence, it makes their heartbeat more apparent.
The book is now discarded neatly on their lap, of course with a bookmark on the page they were on. They internally apologize to it for slamming it closed, when you grow up with a father that owns a bookshop you develop a habit of speaking to books as if they’re people.

Mae glanced up as another kid entered the compartment. Ugh, she looks talkative, she thought. Mae decided to ignore the new kid and keep reading. People were a waste of brain space.
Suddenly, the kid (who had been reading. Maybe this one's not too bad.) slammed the book shut, making Mae jump, and said, ”Okay, the silence was okay at first but now it’s suffocating. How about introductions? I’ll start. Hey, I’m Lucielia but I prefer Lucie. What are your names?”
Talk about rude. Quiet is a good thing! Mae didn't want to answer, but then she remembered a conversation she had overheard the night before. Her mother had suggested to her brother, Tom, that maybe May would finally make friends at Hogwarts. Her brother had laughed for five minutes straight.
True to the rules of sibling rivalry, Mae had to prove him wrong. And that meant talking.
"I'm Mae. Mae Key. Uh," Mae thought a moment, "Nice to meet you?"
Woohoo, social interaction, fun, she thought sarcastically. Maybe after this the kid would leave her in peace. All she wanted was to read her book! Couldn't the world just accept that she was antisocial? And not blame her homeschooling for it? It's not her fault that people are stupid!
But a small voice whispered, Don't you want friends? Don't you cry at night because you're lonely? So instead of ignoring Lucie like she had thought she would, Mae instead found herself waiting eagerly for an answer.

"My dear Elisa has grown up so much"
"Stop it, uncle, you are embarrassing me"
"Okay Okay fine, now go and get yourself a compartment in the train and don't forget owl me letters"
Elisa simply nodded and bid goodbye to her uncle before going inside the train to look for a compartment, It took her a good 10 minutes to check if there was any compartment with a spare seat in it, At last, she found a compartment with one spare seat, it had three girls in it, deep inside Elisa was so keen to find a compartment that she didn't even care if she had to share it with some talkative people, she sighed before knocking on the compartment door before opening it
"Excuse me, I hope I haven't disturbed you three but can I please share the compartment with you three? I can't find any other"
she said in her most polite tone before looking up to see three beautiful girls sitting there, they looked like they were of her age, while one was still reading a book, the other two who were previously talking looked up at her, 'I hope they let me sit with them, or else I will not get any compartment to sit in' thought Elisa while patiently waiting for their reply.

”Now we’re getting somewhere, is that a question or an answer? Either way, nice to meet you.”, Lucie says while smiling at the blonde.
The smile was more of a smirk but still somewhat of a smile. She’s nicer than I expected. Before they could say another word, another blonde entered the compartment. Her icy blue eyes caught Lucie off guard because they are much like their own (well their own left eye of course), She seems nice.
”Sure! I’m Lucie and this is Mae. What’s your name, unless you want me to call you blondie the entire train ride. I can assure you that I’ll one hundred percent do that.”
Lucie’s smile only got wider as they spoke to the girl, she’s rather pretty and nice so it wouldn’t hurt to joke around a bit. They raised a blonde brow while speaking to the girl. While looking between the only two blondes in the room, they look sort of alike but then again Lucie once upon a time had blonde hair and most blondes look alike so there’s no judgement.
They slightly slouch to get comfortable in their seat, as they await the girl’s answer, they put the temporarily forgotten book in their bag before crossing their arms over their chest. Not the most lady like pose, but they’re comfortable and that’s all that matters, well to them at least.

As Elisa patiently waited for the two girls to respond, she noticed the girls taking a moment to think, after a moment, one of the girls responded, it seemed like they were quite fine with Elisa sitting with them,
As Elisa took a seat, the same girl who had let Elisa join the compartment, continued to introduce herself and the blonde girl sitting next to her, their names were Lucie and Mae, 'Quite cool names' thought Elisa as she finally decided to introduce herself, "I am Elisa, Elisa Shakestra, this is my first year, I assume you all are first years too, and I wouldn't really prefer being called blondie unless the person is bold enough to continue calling me that" she said with a smirk,
After a while, Elisa took out her potions textbook to read, it spoke about different yet unique potions and the recipes behind them, it was quite interesting and was very much enough to engross Elisa in it, As she flipped from page to page, her interest into book continues to increase, but after a while of reading, she finally got out of the book's trance to realize that the compartment was dead silent, none of them were trying to start up a conversation, second by second, the awkwardness in the compartment increased, to the fact that Elisa couldn't bear it anymore,
After a while of arguing her mind, about whether she should interrupt the silence or not, Elisa finally spoke up "So which house do you guys wish to be sorted into?", this was the only question that came into her mind after all conversations about the four great houses of Hogwarts was a very interesting and fun topic to be spoken of,

Jane had been lost in her doodle, in her world lacking to notice as her compartment filled up. Her face grew a soft pink as she looked up at the girls embarrassed she hadn't noticed sooner, "Apologies for being quiet. Im Janet"
She glanced around at the girls giving a small grin as she noted the question "I kinda wanna see where the hat sorts me instead, I don't wanna say it out loud in case I jinx it" She laughed softly as she glanced back down at her sketchpad, flipping to a new page. She was glad they were friendly, and more so glad they wanted to chat. Janet wasn't super social, but she would make do for now. Maybe if she sticks to answering questions over asking them it'll pass enough time.
Deciding to draw while everyone else responded she began to doodle again, ears tuned into conversation as she waited. Her eyes wandered the empty page as her pencil ran across the page, not drawing anything specific but just gliding along the page without direction waiting for the conversation to go by. Her mind wandered back to wondering about her parents, what were they up to? Were they missing her like she missed them? But for now, she'd focused or at least try to focus on making new friends.

Lucie hummed in delight, Elisa is a lovely name and is not normally used. They jumped slightly when the newly introduced Janet spoke so suddenly, she'd been quiet for a while but it was not a problem. ”Mark my words, my fellow short people (despite me being the tallest one in here), I will be a Slytherin. I certainly have the unique look for the house of snakes.” Lucie said with a wink and a lopsided smile.
They took the time to analyze Janet before she looked back down, she has blue eyes, A little darker than mine but rather lightly colored.
They start to feel a little self-conscious because they are the most unusual-looking person in the compartment, and the smile on their face flickers and briefly disappears before it reappears less enthusiastic than before.
”Do you girls speak any other languages? I speak Latin, Russian, and Chilean Spanish.” Their eyes sparkle with curiosity and attentiveness, and a small bit of pride. Learning 3 languages is no easy feat, in fact, they almost had an emotional breakdown trying to learn Latin.
The urge to peak at what Janet is drawing is strong but they don’t because it's not very nice and it can be seen as offensive to others.

Elisa quietly heard both the girls reply, she was honestly fascinated by Janet, Janet had a sweet but elegant voice. Elisa had to start to feel comfortable among the other 3 girls and decided to say her answer
"Then I guess I will be with you Lucie, Even I am pretty sure I will be a Slytherin, this house runs in the Shakestra blood, and anyway, I have the qualities for it too"
Then she looked back to her potions book, which was surprisingly very interesting, after some moment of silence, she heard Luciela speak
” Do you girls speak any other languages? I speak Latin, Russian, and Chilean Spanish.”
This made Elisa's mind fill with curiosity, she had always wanted to learn Russian but It would probably take her a long time, she then sighed and perfected her position before answering the question while flashing a smile at the multicolored hair girl
"I can speak French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Dutch, there is one more language I can speak, I hope you three won't let anyone else know about this, as this is a very proud talent for me but I don't think other would accept it. Umm I'm a Parselmouth, I can speak to snakes, I'm sure after hearing this you three would want to stay away from me, I'm sorry if I disappointed any of you"
The moment she spat those words out, Elisa immediately looked down expecting to receive a huge amount of insult and hate from the other three girls. She clenched her book, so tight that it caused some scratches on the book's delicate cover.
