Breakfast in the Great hall was watched over by Sorrel Wright, who kept searching around, as if for another professor. The rumor of the day was that the Potions Professor and Gryffindor Head of House would be aiding the woman in her workshop, but the rumors had yet to be confirmed or denied by either of the professors. When the horrid affair of watching children shovel their faces with food was finally over, Sorrel clasped her hands together to gain the attention of the students. When it did not work, and her motion was not heard over the giggles and loud chattering of children, Sorrel pulled her wand out of her pocket, and with a muttered incantation, the tip of her wand extruded green sparks, that rose up, tall enough for the shortest student to see.

Clearing her throat, aware of the faint blush creeping up her cheeks, Sorrel coughed. "If you are attending the Herbology Workshop, it's time to go. Please follow me." With that, the professor turned on her heel, leaving behind the imprint of a pink skirt and the faint smell of roses in her wake. How sad that talking to students, even after a year of employment, still rattled the woman. At least she was coming out of her shell slightly more, day by day.

The students who expected to go straight to the forest would be sorely disappointed, as Sorrel lead the class down a recently erected path of flower petals and stones. It was clearly of Sorrel's onwn making, for nobody else at Hogwarts would ever create a path of flowers and stones. The hut the path led to could almost be seen, as one started walking the path, which had a small wooden sign at the front of it with the words "Path to Herbology Hut" written in a looping, cursive, handwriting.

One who had not ever learned cursive would have trouble reading the words, but  rumors would spread, and the students would learn of the path sooner or later. The hut was to be used as an informal place for Sorrel to spend her days, answering any questions students might of had, while staying close enough to the forest to work with the plants that dwelled in the shadowy forest.

The path stopped near a hill, which had bright green grass and random flowers growing around it. To the back of the hill, the trees of the forbidden forest could be spotted, foreboding and tall in the background, taking away from the cheer and brightness of the little hut, and the flower and stone path that led to it.

The hut looked more like a cabin, with large windows and wooden walls, topped off with a moss and stone roof. Curtains hung from some of the windows to provide privacy if it was ever needed from those inside. The front door was open already, light shining through the open door and windows to illuminate the inside of the hut, which had been made large enough to fit all the students that would be visiting the herbology workshop, or visiting the hut in the future.

Sorrel led the students through the open door, exposing the peaceful inside of the cabin. There was an area that looked like a living room, furnished with  wooden chairs, a glass table, a comfortable couch, and a multitude of plants and vines. The room looked out on the forest, so the mossy and dark foliage could easily be spotted and stared at by the inhabitants of the room.

Towards the other side of the cabin, there was a wooden door to the restroom, and a table for Sorrel to sit at if she ever did her work in there. There was also a backdoor, which opened into an area of the Forbidden Forest that had been claimed by Sorrel for her work. Already, small plants were growing in the dank soil, even without the sunlight to shine over them, as it was concealed by the huge trees and creepers of the forest.

By the door of the cabin, there was a mountain of weaved baskets. There seemed to be 15 of them, and two of the largest ones were set aside, placed on a stone table, while the rest resided on the floor. One of the largest baskets had a note and a chocolate bar from Hogsmade already sitting in it's weaved abyss, and the other had flowers weaved into it's sides.

As the students piled in, Sorrel allowed them to sit on the couches, chairs, or keep standing. Whichever they preferred, the furnishings where there for a reason. Once every students was comfortable, Sorrel held up the flower covered basket, and with her free hand, pointed at the rest of the baskets on the floor.

Setting the flower covered basket back down on the table, Sorrel offered a weak smile at the students. "Welcome to Herbology Workshop. This is the Herbology Hut, which we will be eating at, and which will be a basecamp of sorts for today. We will start gathering soon, but first, you must grab a basket. There are only 13, so you will be sharing with another student. If you are not one for sharing, you can leave." From another professor, those words might of sounded rude, but Sorrel's tone was matter of fact, proving she cared little for the monsters of children, but would not spend time chiding them.

"Your basket partner will be your partner for this exploration. I expect you to stay within my eyesight, or Professor Valtome's eyesight at all times. If you wander off on your own, you are at the mercy of the creatures of the forest. Is that understood? There will be no fooling around, only gathering the plants that Professor Valtome  and I say are okay to pick up."

"In a few more minutes, we will start to leave, only after Professor Valtome arrives. So please, find a basket partner, go to the bathroom, and make sure you are all ready." Content, Sorrel sat her basket down again, and let out a sigh of relief. This was going to be a long day.

Alaska wasn t the type of person to claim the best seat. While watching all the other campers rushing for the couches, she just stood and leaned against a wall next to a window. She wondered why she even signed up for Herbology. Perhaps it was her impulse to learn as much as she can about the magical world. As the noises died down, Professor Sorrel directed everyone s attention towards a stack of weaved baskets sitting by the doorway. The professor mentioned that there were 13 baskets, and everyone had to get a partner. With a sigh, she scanned the room looking for anyone she knew. Perfect! There was absolutely no one she knew. There were a few people she met at the bonfire last night, however she doubted anyone remembered her. Thats the result of isolating yourself everyday, and she can only blame herself for her withdrawn character. Immediately, her routine for being alone kicked in. Alaska would always sit in a corner, faraway from all the commotion if she felt socially anxious. This was definitely the case here.
Alaska came to this camp to hopefully get rid of her introverted personality, in spite of that, she had made no progress. Even last night at the campfire, she had the chance to really make some good impressions, yet she still decided to sit alone away from the fire. She envied people everyday for their ecstasy and outgoing personas.
Hopefully, someone would come take her as a partner.

Amanda was surprisingly enthusiastic about the Herbology workshop. Herbology was not one of her favorite subjects, but this was a chance to improve her skills in order to learn more and get better grades. Amanda wolfed down her breakfast, eager to begin the workshop. Several minutes later, she spotted Professor Wright shoot green sparks from the tip of her wand. Amanda sat up straight.
Professor Wright: "If you are attending the Herbology Workshop, it's time to go. Please follow me."
Amanda stood up and followed the professor out the door. The group of students, led by Professor Wright, walked briskly down a stone path littered with flowers. Amanda found the path quite beautiful, its bright colors contrasting with the browns and greens of the surrounding landscape. They soon reached a little cheery hut near the base of a hill. The professor led the campers inside and directed them to take a make themselves comfortable.
Professor Wright: "Welcome to Herbology Workshop. This is the Herbology Hut, which we will be eating at, and which will be a basecamp of sorts for today. We will start gathering soon, but first, you must grab a basket. There are only 13, so you will be sharing with another student. If you are not one for sharing, you can leave. So please, find a basket partner, go to the bathroom, and make sure you are all ready."
After Professor Wright gave directions, Amanda stood up and walked over to use the bathroom. When she finished taking care of business, she washed her hands and stepped back into the area with the couches. Time to look for a partner, Amanda thought. She glanced around the room. She recognized a few of her classmates. Amanda spotted the girl Alaska from the bonfire. She walked up to Alaska. “Hey Alaska. Would you like to be partners?” Amanda asked shyly.

Mary wasn't exactly the type for Herbolgy but nonetheless signed up anyway, hoping it would be a good time and a chance to make friends. Mary quietly followed the professor to the cabin and saw that a jumble of students had already taken the seats. Too akaward to ask for someone to make room she silently sat on the ground next to one of seats.
Now,Mary wasn't exactly one to be outgoing so when she heard the professor say they had to share the woven baskets, she wasn't quite sure what to do. She contemplated leaving like the professor said but thought she'd just make a bigger full of herself. So she looked weakly around the room and saw a girl standing against the wall. "Maybe she could use a partner?" she thought to herself. Quickly second guessing herself she thought"No, everyone here has plenty of friends, shes probably just scanning the room for hers." And as if right on cue A first year Ravenclaw walked up to her.Mary huffed and sat still on the floor waiting for everyone to find their partners and solemnly hoped that whoever got stuck with her wouldn't think that they got stuck with the weirdest person there. So asMary sat on the floor as her eyes followed the many students and waited.

ACTION: ASK MARY BROWN TO BE HER BASKET PARTNER

Humming a tune under her breath, Mia followed the Herbology professor almost too closely. She admired her so, so much, it almost was creepy. Almost. It wasn't like she stalked her or anything, but she always paid attention in class and sat straighter when the professor walked by.
Welcome to Herbology Workshop. This is the Herbology Hut, which we will be eating at, and which will be a basecamp of sorts for today. We will start gathering soon, but first, you must grab a basket. Mia nodded. She wasn't the one this was directed at-she was sure of that-but it didn't hurt to look attentive. Very attentive.

Mia looked around to try to find a partner. There were a bunch of people that she knew, but that would've been too easy. She didn't want to just pair up with one of her friends and whisper the entire time.

Hey-do you want to be my partner?

Mia walked up to a brown haired girl and tapped her lightly on the shoulder, her feet in third position. She didn't know who this girl was, but she seemed ok, and Mia was exited to meet her. She looked demure enough, and Mia could tell that she wasn't a complete brat from the first sight of her. Don't ask, she didn't know how she categorized people, but her instincts were usually right.

Hengist had no idea so many girls would sign up for the Herbology Workshop. He just signed up to supplement his learning. While he didn't do terrible in the class, he didn't do quite as well as he would've liked in Herbology, so this was a good opportunity to get better. But so many girls....even though most of the friends and acquaintances he made this year were girls, he was still awkward and nervous around them most of the time. The only girl he was truly comfortable around his little sister. Still, he had made a few friends, so he wasn't too worried. He was early enough to get an empty sofa and waited for the rest of the students and for Prof. Wright to start her lecture, or whatever it was going to be.

Hengist quickly went from not too worried to nearly ghost-white. The reason being shared baskets. They were going to have to find a partner to share a basket with, and of the few friends he had, he saw they already got a partner. Worried that he'd miss out on the opportunity to find someone to partner with, he frantically scanned the room, but noticed no one he even vaguely knew. Now thinking that he will have to miss out, Hengist just hoped he'd notice someone in the same situation as himself (or that someone would notice him!).

"If you are attending the Herbology Workshop, it's time to go. Please follow me."
The words cut through December’s thoughts like a knife. She had really been hoping she would have time to finish the chapter she was on before they had to leave, but the way the professor promptly left the hall made it clear that they needed to leave immediately.

After carefully packing her book back into her bag, December raced after the professor so that she would follow directly behind her. Professor Wright was kind of strange, so she wasn’t thrilled at the idea of spending time with her. Still, she knew that she had to soak up all the knowledge she could about Herbology if she wanted to be a good potioneer one day. Unfortunately, she would have to just muscle through it.

They arrived at a secluded cabin near the Forbidden Forest with a bunch of janky looking baskets outside the door. You’d think Hogwarts would be able to afford something a little more modern-looking and less splinter-inducing, but apparently she was stuck with them.

“Excuse me,” December said as she carefully weaved through the other students and swiftly snatched one of the baskets. She definitely wasn’t one for sharing, but if she had to do it anyways, she was going to be the one in charge of the basket.

With the basket clutched tightly in her hand, December stood off to the side, observing the other students that had began to partner up with each other. She wasn’t worried; someone would have to join her, since she took one of the baskets. She just hoped that it was someone who was cool, or someone that she could at least tolerate.

At was a bright summer day and the first full day of Summer Camp actives, the students who stayed had gathered in the great hall of breakfast. It was strange, being in the castles without the giant mass of students that usually filled the castle. It was also relaxing, less students meant less noise, less noise meant being able to actually hear yourself think for once. But September would be coming fast, so Asteria decided to enjoy it while she could.Soon, the sound of Professor Wright's voice filled the room from the professors table."If you are attending the Herbology Workshop, it's time to go. Please follow me."  she said. With that Asteria, like the rest of the students who had signed up, stood from their tables and began to follow the professor.

At first, Asteria thought that they would would heading toward the Forbidden forest at first. However, the path that the professor led them down said otherwise. It was a path covered in beautiful flower petals and stones, along the path was a sign with the words, 'Path to Herbology Hut' written on it in script. It was a good thing she learned scripted during her time attending muggle school. Not too far along the way, Asteria could spot what looked like a hut. Maybe that was there first stop? The path stopped as they reach a hill covered in green grass and flowers; Asteria was tempted to pick at least one, but she decided against it in the end.

On the other side of the hill, the trees of the Forbidden Forest stood tall and gloomy, the exact opposite of  the path they just took. You didn't have to get too close to the forest to know it was a dangerous place, the vibes that radiated from it alone could tell you that. Still, it was one of the most interesting places on school grounds none the less.It wasn't long before they reached the hut, Asteria took in the look  from the outside. It looked rather cozy, from it's large windows to its moss and stone roof it was like a nice little home almost. Professor Wright led the students into the hut, it was large enough to fit everyone thankfully; nothing was worse than a cramped room.

Once everyone took their seats and settled down, Professor Wright began to speak.Asteria listened as the professor explained what the hut will be used for."We will start gathering soon, but first, you must grab a basket." she went on. "There are only 13, so you will be sharing with another student. If you are not one for sharing, you can leave." Asteria didn't budge from her chair, leaving just because you have to share was absolutely ridiculous to Asteria. "Your basket partner will be your partner for this exploration. I expect you to stay within my eyesight, or Professor Valtome's eyesight at all times. If you wander off on your own, you are at the mercy of the creatures of the forest. Is that understood?" Asteria nodded once Professor Wright finished, the last thing Asteria wanted was to get lost.
"There will be no fooling around, only gathering the plants that Professor Valtome and I say are okay to pick up.In a few more minutes, we will start to leave, only after Professor Valtome arrives. So please, find a basket partner, go to the bathroom, and make sure you are all ready." With that,Asteria got up from her chair and walked toward the baskets. Picking up her basket, Asteria wondered who she could partner up with. The people she did know she didn't really talked to and had partners anyway, everyone else she didn't know at all. Eventually, Asteria's green eyes settle upon a Ravenclaw boy; he too seemed to be alone. With a slightly nervous smile, Asteria walked over to the boy. "Hello", she said slightly nervous voice, "I was wondering if you would like to be my partner. I mean, if you don't already have one, that is."

Still very worried that he would not find a partner, Hengist noticed more and more of the baskets being taken. He thought that he'd better do something now or else he'll miss out. Just as he got the motivation and courage to get up, out of the corner of his eye he noticed a girl with red hair and green eyes approach him with a basket. "Hello, I was wondering if you would like to be my partner. I mean, if you don't already have one, that is." she asked him, sounding almost as nervous as he felt.

"No, I don't have one," Hengist responded, "I thought I might have to leave, like the Professor said. Everyone I know who signed up already has a partner." He immediately thought that what he said sounded weird. Who says something like that so bluntly? 'Good job, you might as well say that you are a weirdo with no friends, that'll sound great' he thought to himself. He tried to recover as best he could, "By the way, my name is Hengist Warbeck, I'm in the Cabin of the Occamy. What about you?"

Well, it was more graceful than his usual attempt, so he figured maybe he was getting better at this whole socializing thing. He did take notice of the girl's green eyes while he waited for her reply, though, thinking that they were the same as his.

Speaking with Hengist
"No, I don't have one," the Ravenclaw replied. "I thought I might have to leave, like the Professor said. Everyone I know who signed up already has a partner." The way the boy had said this was rather blunt, but Asteria didn't mind, she wasn't one to judge people based on how they said things; it just wasn't her style. Still, Asteria was glad she was able to find a partner. She wasn't exactly one of the popular girls in school, so finding someone to talk with was a bit harder."I understand. Most of my friends aren't here, and I don't really know anyone else aside from my roommates, and they already have partners. So I kind of thought I'd end up leaving too." Asteria relied. At least she found someone to have a friendly conversation with, that was a plus in her book. Maybe this won't be so bad after all!

"By the way, my name is Hengist Warbeck, I'm in the Cabin of the Occamy. What about you?" he said introducing himself. Meeting Hengist's eyes, Asteria noticed he too had green eyes; "Nice to meet you Hengist,my name is Asteria Hana, I'm in the Cabin of Lethifold." she held out her hand for him to shake. A much more comfortable smile graced her face and a twinkle entered her eyes, hopefully this is the start of a new friendship, friends was defiantly something she needed more of here. Now if only Professor Valtome would show up, then we can get started. "So, how are you liking camp so far? The bonfire was kind of okay?"
