A Friend At The Lake PV Hannah Blossom Finished

Hannah had felt a need to relax after a long day, and what a better spot than the Great Lake?

She was not very hungry, so she ate her dinner rather quickly, and then she headed to the library. The girl picked up a book from the library and walked over to the lake. She smelled the scent of the outdoors, she loved it. Hannah decided to walk for a bit, then sit down and read.

She walked for a while, but got bored after ten minutes, and decided to sit down, and read. However, she sat there and observed. She noticed another girl skipping rocks by the lake. That seems kind of fun... thought Hannah.

Perhaps she wouldn't mind if Hannah joined her, well, maybe.

Hannah looked over at her, but not too many times, since she didn't want to look "weird". The girl decided to come up to the brown haired girl, and ask her if she could join her.

Hannah walked over to the girl, and said "Hey, mind if I join you? My name is Hannah by the way." she hoped the girl would say yes or of course, since the activity seemed fun, and it would also be nice to make a new friend.

As Madi was skipping rocks, she saw a girl come up and stand next to her. The girl had bright red hair and blue eyes. She was about Madi's height and appeared to be maybe a second year, like Madi was. But Madi had never been that good at guessing ages.

"Hey, mind if I join you? My name is Hannah by the way." The red haired girl introduced herself. Madi smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, of course, go ahead." Madi said. "Oh, and my name is Madi." she introduced herself. She bent down and picked up two rocks that she thought would be good for skipping, gave one to Hannah, took the other, and skipped it across the lake.

"What House are you in? I don't think I recognize you." Madi said. But, to be fair, Madi didn't recognize a lot of students, including many in her year. At the beginning of her first year, she hadn't been great at talking to other people, as she was extremely shy. Therefore she didn't meet that many people. She was a lot less shy now, and she was trying to make up for that lost time by meeting as many people as she could at the end of her first year and second year.

Hannah was happy when the girl, who's name was Madi told her she could join her. She had brought a tote bag with her, which she put her book in, before doing anything

She took the rock from Madi's hand and carefully skipped it across the lake. Hannah smiled, and said "Thanks." before she had skipped the rock. Hannah hadn't met this girl before, but she looked like a second year, and she was about the girl's height. Which meant, they probably had a class or maybe a few classes together in the past, but Hannah hadn't recognized her from any classes.

Then, Hannah bent down to grab two other rocks, she handed one to Madi, then answered her question. "I'm a Gryffindor. I don't believe we've met before, but it's nice to meet you!"

Hannah then skipped the rock across the lake. That was... good, I suppose thought the girl. She had learned to skip rocks at her garden, at home, and she wasn't too good, but she wasn't bad. She skipped rocks in her free time, but she got easily bored, today, she felt it would be different since she had Madi to chat with, which would be nice.

She then looked back at the lake, and then, bent down to pick up some more rocks.

"Yeah, no problem." Madi replied, as Hannah thanked her for giving her the rock. Madi grabbed another rock and skipped it across the lake. The red haired girl bent down and handed her a rock. "Thank you." Madi said, and skipped it. It didn't go as far as the rocks she'd skipped before, which was disappointing. She grabbed another one to try again.

She stopped skipping rocks to listen to Hannah's answer to her question. She was a Gryffindor, which explained why Madi didn't recognize her. She knew a few Gryffindors, but not very many. "I'm in Ravenclaw. It's nice to meet you, too!" Madi smiled.

They continued skipping rocks, and soon, the only sound heard was the rocks hitting against the water. A lot of times, silence was nice, but Madi worried she was being rude by not talking. She'd always been taught to socialize at everytime possible. She also thought it would be nice to get to know Hannah, as she always enjoyed talking to people.

Madi thought about more ways to continue the conversation. "So, what's your favorite part about Hogwarts so far?" she asked. She knew they were in their second year and had already been at Hogwarts for a year, but they were still pretty new to it.

After the girl picked up some more rocks, she stood up and threw one of them. Hannah smiled after she thanked her. She nodded.

This would be a good opportunity to make friends. In her first year, she had made many friends, and she hoped it would continue the same for this school year. She had made a few friends in the past few days, but not many in the Summer. She was mostly acquainted with pure-blodded people in the balls she had attended.

So, apparently, this girl, Madi, was in Ravenclaw. Hannah had never seen nor heard of her before. Perhaps a faint memory of someone speaking of her, but she hadn't properly met her. "Yes, it's nice to meet you too!" she said while smiling. The girl did seem nice. Hannah thought she would enjoy the conversation they had just started.

Then, they both continued skipping rocks, and there was an air of silence. Hannah had mixed feelings about it. She wanted Madi to speak, but she also did not. Then, she did talk, asking Hannah a question. A difficult one.

"Gosh. That's a difficult question." she said, truthfully. "I guess I do enjoy the library or the Great Lake, and I love it how there are lots of people with different personalities here, don't you? Well, what about you?" she asked.

"I love it too! I like seeing everyone's personalities and how it's different from others. I've always been kinda interested in that. And, of course, it's cool to get to know everyone." Madi said. "I love the library, and all the different classes." She smiled. She liked so many things at Hogwarts, it was hard just to pick a couple of things, but she was able to narrow it down.

She didn't really know what else to say. She skipped another rock, and kicked some dirt around. She was sort of waiting for Hannah to talk, while she was trying to think of something to say. She wasn't the best at keeping conversations going.

"Sorry, I can be really quiet sometimes. I'm not like that often, normally I'm really talkative. It's not that I don't want to talk to you or anything like that." She finally said, wondering if Hannah was thinking that. She knew that some people did. "So, I noticed you had a book with you when you came over here. What book was it?" Madi asked. Maybe she'd make a new friend and a new book recommendation. And also, it was a good topic for small talk.

She heard Madi's words with interest."Yeah. Same. I also love the library... I read a lot so.. I also love all the classes." she spoke. "Except for Astronomy.." she mumbled quietly.

Hannah grabbed another rock, and skipped it. "Maybe we should stop skipping? It's getting kind of boring." she said, with her accent slipping in. Then she got a random thought Gosh. I feel like playing violin. The girl loved playing violin in the music room. Sometimes she stayed hours there.

Suddenly it was quiet. The girls wouldn't say a word, the Madi did. "Oh yeah. It's fine. Sometimes silence is good don't you think?" she asked her. Hannah didn't mind silence. It was good sometimes. She then asked about her book. "Yes, it's called 'Dragons'. It's a guide about dragons. I've been studying them a bit." she said, and waited for Madi to speak.

Hannah then looked at the lake, the sky, the trees, the castle...Everything. She stopped skipping the rocks, the girl hoped Madi would accept her request and they could go sit down by the trees. She remembered she had met @Tesla Stone by the trees. She was nice, and they'd seen each other at the Summer Ball. They had shared carrot cake.

Anyways, she went back to observing. Everything was just so pretty at the school. The architecture, the location.. every single thing. It was sad muggles couldn't see how pretty the school was.

Madi heard Hannah agree with what she said, and then mumble that she liked every class except for Astronomy. "Why don't you like Astronomy?" Madi quickly realized that she might have sounded nosy. She didn't even think Hannah had meant for her to hear that she didn't like Astronomy. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be nosy. You don't have to answer that if you don't want to." She interjected.

Then, Hannah suggested they stop skipping rocks. "Yeah, sure. It is getting kind of boring." Madi agreed."What do you want to do instead?" She said, hoping Hannah still wanted to hang out with her. It was nice having someone to talk to and just to have someone to be around.

"Yeah, silence can be nice sometimes. I just always feel like I'm doing something wrong when I'm silent when another person is talking to me, I guess. I don't really know why." Madi shrugged. Then, Hannah answered her question about the book she was reading. "That sounds really interesting! I love magical creatures." Madi smiled. She thought it was cool that Hannah was studying dragons. She didn't really know much about them, although she'd like to know more.

She had heard it. Madi had heard it. "Oh, uh yeah it's no problem." she spoke. Then, she cleared her voice, and spoke with sincerity. "I honestly think it's not necessary at all, like why do we need to know about the stars? It's simply useless, and to be even more honest, I think it's the most boring, horrid punishment ever! I hate it." "No offence if you like it though." she grinned. The girl was just speaking her thoughts, and if this girl said she was dramatic, she wouldn't walk, she would run out of there.

Hannah looked at her, and walked over to the trees. "Wanna sit over here and talk? It seems kind of boring, but trust me, it won't if we just talk about something random." she said. The girl was ready to sit down. She carefully cleared some of the leaves and sat down in that spot.

"Same. I guess." she didn't like when people talked too much, eighter two little. Hannah was enjoying the conversation so far, and Madi seemed nice. "I do too!" she spoke. "Can't wait to have Care Of Magical Creatures as a class!" she commented.

Then, she had an amazing idea. "Hey? Wanna race? Let's go around the great lake." without a response, she simply said "3, 2, 1, go!" and started running, without looking behind, she had a head start, which wasn't fair, but Hannah didn't care.
