Sophia walked into the large room and noted the differences instantly. Lots of chairs set up, almost like a doctor's office, and a massive curtain demanded her attention first. She gazed around the room in wonder, curious what was behind the curtain. She'd read the banner, however, and knew that peeking would probably be a bad idea.
Kim was back there. He had to be. He was the head of this club, and he was hosting the auditions, so he was most certainly there. Kim and Sage were the only people whose opinions mattered to Sophia, so she was always eager to impress them. For some reason, that went double for Kim since his behavior at the Ball. It didn't make sense. She should be angry at him, not desire his acceptance even more.
Oh well. She would figure it out, eventually. For now, she had a club to audition for. A club that should be easy. After all, she was Catholic. Her mom had, begrudgingly at times, prepared her for the role of a housekeeper since she was a little girl. The Church had always taught the importance of women's roles in domestic duty. Even when her local Priest, her mother, and her father disagreed with it, they still agreed with the value of her knowing how to cook for herself, so she could handle this just fine. Right?
She tried to gloss over the fact that she'd often broken more glassware than eggs in her time in the kitchen as a little girl. Oh well. She wasn't too worried. She had a secret weapon: Written in ink on her left hand was a recipe she'd gotten from her grandma via a letter. She couldn't fail.
All she could do now was wait, and hope for the best.
So that was what she did. She waited for any additional auditionees to arrive.

@Sophia NelsonWhen she got the letter for the TriCook Club that her owl buddy, Kim Sato started, Bailey was excited. She had been wanting to cook something recently, and now she had a chance. For the audition, she was slightly nervous.
Deciding to go get some breakfast before the audition, Bailey got dressed and headed down to the Great hall. She grabbed a bowl of cereal and some bacon, and sat down with her glass of juice to eat. While eating, Bailey flipped through her cooking notebook, which was filled with years of notes and recipes that she had tried and tested and attempted to make better. She was trying to decide what to make later when she realized she needed to get to the Classroom right away.
Heading to Classroom two on level two of the castle, she entered the room and realized that Sophia, a first year Ravenclaw, was already there! Deciding to walk over and say hello, Bailey crossed the room and said “Hello Sophia! How are you doing? How has school gone? Are you excited for the audition?”
While waiting for a response from Sophia, Bailey looked around for Kim, knowing he would be there somewhere due to being the founder and head of this club.Word count: 210 ish

Sophia's musings about the audition - and Kim! - were broken when she heard a familiar voice approaching. She tilted her head to listen before turning to face the oncoming voice directly.
BAILEY! It was Bailey!
Sophia jumped up from her seat and ran over to Bailey, pulling her into a hug. She squeezed tight and resisted the urge to hop excitedly.
"Bailey! You're gonna be here too?" she asked, hope in her eyes. This was going to be very exciting. She knew Sage was gonna come, and Kim was naturally going to be there. The only way things could possibly be better now that Bailey was here too would be for Gem to come, but Sophia knew she was being greedy at this point. Three friends in one room was an amazing accomplishment, so she should just accept it gratefully and not complain.
"What kind of dish are you making in the audition?" she asked in a whisper, pulling back from the hug. She made a point of keeping her hand on which she scribbled her own recipe hidden safely behind her back, or Bailey's back, at all times. Couldn't let herself be caught, after all.
Sophia plopped inelegantly back onto one of the waiting chairs, ready to start the audition, but also eager to enjoy Bailey's company in the meantime.
Yay! @Bailey Glade

@Sophia NelsonWhen she said hello to Sophia, Bailey was not expecting the response that she got. The younger girl turned around and ran over to her, wrapping her in a hug. As Bailey hugged her back, Sophia seemed to expand in excitement. She eagerly asked what Bailey was going to make.
“Honestly, I have no idea. I really have no plan. I have a few ideas though and a few recipes that I know and love. And I also brought my mum’s homemade vanilla extract. Kim seemed to like it in the meringue I made for the most recent meeting of the Peaceful Mind Club. What are you going to make?”
Bailey finished speaking with a question for Sophia.
As she and Sophia both sat down in the chairs, she looked around wondering where Kim was and when the audition would start.
I sure hope it starts soon. And that we have instructions of what to make. Will there be a certain amount of time we have? Or a certain dish we have to make?
Baileys mind keep wandering. Will everyone be accepted? Hopefully I will be. I mean, why should I not be? But there is always a chance… Before her mind could wander any farther, she heard Sophia speak up.Word count: 210

Pax honestly had no idea what they were doing at this club. The fundamental mistake was that they could not cook. The one time they'd tried at home, they'd somehow managed to set fire to the cat (though, to be fair, they were only six). And now, they were stood outside the door, about to audition for a cooking club. It was a daunting thing to do. But Pax was nothing if not bold (and sometimes stupid), so they entered.
There were already two people in the room, seemingly both Ravenclaws. They were already having a conversation, however, so Pax opted to sit a little further from them so they could do some much-needed planning. In a rush, they'd brought nothing with them. Not even a notebook to try and plan. Spotting a small bottle of maybe an extract of sorts in one of the Ravenclaw's laps, they groaned inwardly. Their competitive nature meant that they had to get in to this club, and even better if they could win. But they knew that was unrealistic.
Now... What would they cook? Actually, no. What could they cook? The answer was annoyingly obvious to them. Nothing.
So, of course, they would have to do some thinking. They cast their mind back to their mother, who was one of the best cooks Pax knew. Were there any things there that they could try to replicate?
And then it came to them. Pax could make bread. Just like one of their mother's homemade loaves. They'd helped out with kneading before... would it be so difficult to make a loaf of bread? Surely not.
With boosted confidence, Pax settled down with a small smile to wait.Reducio

Marina walked into the audition room holding a basket which held her pet rat Mochi. She knew that bringing the rat might not have been the most sanitary thing to do but leaving Mochi all alone in the common room was something Marina definitely did not want to do.
She looked around the room it seemed like a lot of work had been put in to set it up. Marina saw that two other tri-cook club members had arrived before her, it seemed like they knew each other before this meeting."Hello," Marina said politely to them. Then she walked towards the chairs and placed Mochi's basket on one of them. She sat down on the one next to it and began waiting for the other members to arrive. Then Marina picked Mochi up out of the basket so as to let the rat look around.
After sitting down Marina began to recite in her head the pie recipe she had memorized for this meeting. Crushed gram crackers and something else for the crust. One cup of strawberries and one cup of kiwis mixed with one cup of sugar for the filling. Lastly she would top her pie with whipped cream and fresh raspberries.
At that moment Marina noticed that a third member of the club had also arrived. "Hi," Marina said. "I am so exited for the auditions." She added, "I'm also really nervous though because I've never been good at cooking."

[quote]"I, uh," Sophia began with a frown, "I don't actually know."
She had a vague recipe written on her hand, sure, but she wasn't good at cooking, truth be told. She had broken more dishes at home than many professional cooks would break in a lifetime. The amount of food she'd spilled on the floors of her childhood home could be compared to the amount of oil BP has spilled in the oceans. It was a ridiculous amount of food, and a testament to how messy Sophia could be in the kitchen.
"To tell the truth, I'm kind of worthless in the kitchen. I'm very good with a microwave," she joked, "But when you add like different kinds of knives, or special types of bowls, or fancy words like 'simmer' or 'broil' I'm totally worthless. I usually just nuke and go. I can make simple stuff, like spaghetti or burgers or other staples from my childhood, but fancy meals are just so hard."
She watched Bailey's bottle in the mean time and smiled, "But, I bet you're amazing. The fact that your mom even has homemade vanilla extra tells a lot! I hope we get to taste what everyone makes after the auditions."
Sophia sighed dreamily. She was quite fond of food, especially of the delicious sort.
Two more people walked into the audition, one even offering a greeting. The people in this school were so friendly.
"Hello," she returned with a smile.

@Marina OrielAs Sophia takes about be rubbish at fancy things, Bailey said “Don’t worry. All of the basics, which you know, are the basic parts to a fancy dish. They just are all in one recipe. It might look intimidating and such, but it really can be easy. You just have to have the right mind set.”
When Sophia mentioned hoping to taste everyone dishes, Bailey smiled and singled dreamily. “That would be great, wouldn’t it.”
The. Two more people walked in; both Griffindors by the look of it.
Then Sophia said hello to them, and Bailey felt pride. Im glad Sophia is able to make friends now. This is awesome!
Turning to the new comers, Bailey smiled widely and said “Hello! How are you guys doing today? Are y’all excited about the audition?”
Turning back to Sophia, she continued with what she had been saying earlier, saying “Knowing how to cook and being good at it is only a part of cooking. You also have to want to do it- and be willing to do what you need to do to get there. I am sure you will do amazing today, and no matter how well your dish is made, start happy. At least you tried something you know you are not the best at.”Word count: 225 ish

Blue in English, Red in KoreanEven as she was reading the signs, Eun-ji still wasn't sure whether she made a right decision to come here. She loved cooking. At home, she had been helping in the kitchen for several years and has been a designated chef ever since her paternal grandma died. Making food for others was simply fundamental part of her life. The witch had tried to find out whether it was possible to use kitchens at Hogwarts from time to time in the past but to her utter disappointment, it wasn't. At least not until next year apparently. It was probably a wise decision considering how many students loved to set things on fire for no good reason but that didn't mean she had to be happy about it. And so, when the owl from Kim arrived saying he was opening a cooking club, Eun-ji couldn't bring herself to refuse. She wondered why he even invited her. Sure, they had somewhat special connection but she wouldn't say they were friends (at least not yet). Did Charles go on a rant about her cooking skills? She knew for a fact that he loved her dishes but would he really go and tell his best friend? Eun-ji was now aware that the two of them talked about her but she had no way of knowing exactly how much. She planned to find out though.
Sighing, the Ravenclaw finally opened the door and entered the designated meeting point. She would nod at the other girls that were already sitting in the waiting room. It was a polite gesture without being too friendly. Taking an empty chair next to the shorthaired Asian looking student, she set down her basket with ingredients. They all looked like first years although she supposed that made sense, considering Kim himself was a first year student. Many of these people might be his friends. She recognized two of them from her own common room but to be perfectly honest, she didn't even know their names, which she was fine with. Eun-ji was not here to look for new friends. That was the one thing that bothered her about this whole affair. Clubs were places where people gathered to participate in group activities and that was not ideal. She also wondered whether she was crazy to join when she was already busy studying, practicing ballet and being a member of the duelling club. Then again, Eun-ji liked to keep her mind occupied during tough times so it was kind of perfect.
Now comfortable in her chair, the raven-haired girl noticed some participants holding onto various pieces of paper. Eun-ji didn't bring her grandmother's cookbook with her. She didn't need to. This was an audition and so she wasn't going to experiment. She would just do a recipe she knew by heart. There were many to choose from. The witch also noticed a pet rat sitting in one of the girls' lap. Mordred would have loved him however his feelings most likely wouldn't be reciprocated. Most rats didn't enjoy hanging around cats. Thankfully, Eun-ji didn't bring him today. He was well behaved and would most likely just sleep somewhere in the corner until his owner was done cooking but Kim was allergic to cats. It was the very first thing the witch had learned about the boy. Even before he managed to introduce himself. She was not about to cause him another sneezing fit.... in the kitchen no less. She was smarter than that.
