Lost & Found
A disleveled, young girl could be found nervously searching across bundles of books stacked neatly in the Library. She was biting her fingers, hurrying around yet somehow keeping her footsteps as quiet as a serial killer with a mission.
ActionReducio- @Reducio@Simon Kincaid NoteReducioI finally wrote the thread! Erm, sorry. Lemme know if there's any issues with it. OutfitReducioIn Slytherin uniform.
"Where is he?" Vale whispered to herself, her eyes scouraging around the books in shelves. Her small frame could only reach a few shelves, but it was a task she committed herself to do anyway. "Why is this one always going missing? The others don't misbehave as much as this one does."
She was in search of a doll. A doll that mysteriously vanished during her time studying her herbology and potions notes in a corner. It was a new one too, according to her. And unlike the other ones she had so far, there was something very, very wrong with this one. Prehaps too much; Vale couldn't afford giving this one a death sentence so soon either.
She just had it repaired after all.
"Where are you, Jela?" Vale was ready to cry over the idea of never finding her doll again. It was a troubling thing for her to cope over, and something she was not so willing to accept. She scampered under tables and accidentally even hit her head on one when she moved to stand back up. She made a short curse in Swahili, rubbing her head from may be a bruise later.
For a small, stitched up doll, it was sure a lot of trouble. Too much for poor Vale to handle at her age as well. She sniffled, and continued to look around in the mean time. She'd be damned if that doll fell into the hands of another child to commit unspeakable acts of horror instead with. That was something she couldn't share.

Offering help to @Vale Ashwood
Simon had been reading. It wasn't anything al that particularly interesting, he had just overheard some older students mention some sort of magical plant called puffapods and while that seemed to be a made up name, nothing really surprised him anymore when it came to the wizarding world. Besides, the wizarding world did like it's use of puffs: there was Hufflepuff, pygmy puff, and - yes - puffapods. None had any relation to one another; well, with the exception of the Hufflepuff looking up information on puffapods in a magical school where some students had pet pygmy puffs.
He could hear a girl approach nearby and he didn't pay too much attention. This was the Library and it was freely open to students whether that was to aid their studies, gather some research, or just want a quiet and comfortable place to hang out.
From her statement it was gathered that she was looking for someone. Perhaps she was to meet up with someone for a partner project and Simon glanced up from his book on mundane and magical plants.
It wasn't until she said "Why is this one always going missing? The others don't misbehave as much as this one does." that he concluded she must have lost a pet. The others? That was a little confusing as he knew Hogwarts only allowed students to bring one pet but maybe in her dorm or group of friends they all took turns looking after their pet rat or rabbit or - ...well, no, not goldfish.
Simon got up from his seat and approached the girl, also trying to be quiet and came to her side just as she hit her head on the table and he winced for her. "Sorry, couldn't help but overhear...can I be of any help?"

†-----------------†--------------「 Wood to Ash 」-----------------†--------------†@.Liana Kerr†-----------------†--------------「 Fire 」-----------------†--------------†----Vale peeked her eyes over to a new voice. She blinked, trying to go through the many names through her head. But the face was familiar. Maybe seeing it a couple times throughout the school.
"Oh! Vale Ashwood, at your service! May your enemies burn in the fiery pits of the underworld!" Vale quietly spoke, remembering the location she was in. She made a short, curtesy bow to the boy before turning back to her searching.
"It is most certainly horrifying to meet you, but alas you've caught me at my most darkest hour. My doll, Jela, you see, she ran off! Always up to something, that one!" But she's not in her usual spot. Who knows what dangers she will spread without me? She's a small thing, so it might be a touch hard to find her." Vale took the boy's offer for help with ease. It was pleasant to have someone to work with on this awful mystery.
"She likes to explore places like this. Please do keep an eye out for a small sack with a smile. She's a tease. Might be somewhere unreachable." Vale was a strange girl, and what was even more stranger was her own dolls. It was one thing to believe all their actions were of the girl's doing.
It was another when some of their actions couldn't be explained even with the help of the young girl. Like now...where Vale pointed out her precious doll Jela, on a rather high shelf at a bookcase that even Vale can't reach on her own. "Jela! What are you doing up there? We'll be late to head back to the dorms! You know Familia gets restless if I don't feed her before bedtime!" She scolded her doll on her pet spider's feeding habits.

Doll Hunt with @Vale Ashwood
While Simon appreciated the girl's first remarks at what he assumed to be a friendly greeting, he wasn't sure if he really did want his enemies to burn in the fiery pits of the underworld. No, he'd much rather them realize the error of their ways and go through redemption within their lives so they could enjoy all that Heaven could offer.
He listened as she mentioned that her doll, Jela, had run off and Simon took it as another way of phrasing that she had been misplaced. Still, he found it rather peculiar when she began to wonder what dangers she would spread without her but then again, he thought back to some, especially First Years, in the Hufflepuff dormitories with their stuffed animals. Some students brought such security items with them to Hogwarts in which they had grown an attachment to over the years. Simon never had a beloved blanket or a teddy bear or anything like that.
Doing his best to focus on the clues that the girl had given, he began to scan around. A doll. Small thing, might be a touch hard to find her. Small sack with a smile. A tease.
Beginning to walk and the girl named Vale Ashwood walking beside him, the two scanned the bookshelves nearby. Simon smiled. "I'm a bit familiar with teases. There's this girl back in London named Mia Anderson and - "
He stopped as the girl quickly called out the doll's name, finding her so quickly. He followed her hand and saw it on the rather high shelf. ...How exactly DID it get up there? It was too high even for that of a Sixth Year to place there - without the help of magic, of course. Was someone playing some awful trick on the Slytherin girl? That wasn't very kind, if so.
"Maybe you could try some gentle encouragement," Simon whispered. Scolding never helped any sort of situation but then he paused, remembering that this was a doll and not a small child or an animal. "We could try the levitation charm to get her down, or maybe the summoning charm? Or I could lift you up onto my shoulders."

†-----------------†--------------「 Wood to Ash 」-----------------†--------------†@.Liana Kerr†-----------------†--------------「 Fire 」-----------------†--------------†----Who in the world is Mia Anderson, and why is she such a tease? Did she sneak herself out of rooms and play tricks on people too? Whoever she was, she sounds no good, much like Jela, Vale's little doll.
As Vale stared up to the doll in question, all sorts of tactics were being brought up by the older boy. He was friendly and kind enough to give such options.
"Hm, let's trying encouraging her first." Vale got onto her toes, moving her small body as high up as she could before she let out a soft whisper to the doll in question.
"Jela..." She politely spoke. It was silent, almost for too long. Vale's innocent eyes soon scrunched up into a face of anger, and she bared her teeth to express her rage. The young girl had shown her true self, even if just for a moment.
"Get down here, you flithy bag! I'm tired of your dumb tricks!" She hissed out, pointing a sharp finger up to the doll in question. It did not move, like an inanimated toy should do. The girl's scrunched up face soon turned back to that of sadness, and she turned around to the older boy.
"It's no use. She's not listening to me." Vale sniffed, ready to cry over the unfortunate scenario of a doll way out of her reach. "She must be mad at me. Oh no, what if she stays up there forever? She'll collect dust and play tricks on everyone here without me." Vale stopped her tears just in time when an idea hit her, "You really can get her yourself? I don't think the adults would like it if we use magic in the library. Is it alright to use your shoulders to grab her? She means the whole world to me. I would destroy lives to make sure she is safe." Whether or not the girl meant that, is up to speculations.

Helping @Vale Ashwood
Simon watched, figuring the gentle encouragement - in this case paired with some harsh insults - certainly was not going to work but then he shook his head. Of course it wouldn't work. This was a DOLL here. It wasn't like the times Rascal scurried up on top of the bookshelves.
He thought the levitation charm was the right route to go but the girl didn't seem to want to and he was cool with that. Besides, if he had done it wrong, maybe he would somehow knock down a bookshelf or something and that would take a lot of time to reshelve all the books that would make their way onto the floor. Spellcasting wasn't his strength and from what he had read, it wasn't the strength of most dhampirs.
"Alright, shoulders it is," he said, feeling as though he could probably just put his hands on both sides of the girl's waist and lift her without issue. He had dhampir strength, after all. Still, that would probably call him right out for what he is to her and every one around him and dhampirs weren't looked on too kindly these days - both within The Daily Prophet and within the school newspaper. No, that was something he didn't keep hidden but he also wasn't outright with it either.
Simon knelt down. "Alright, climb onto my shoulders. This will give you some height but also still allow you to use your hands to grab the doll." This entire process did make him wonder how the doll got up there in the first place. His guess, some older Slytherins thought it would be funny to snatch it and place it out of her reach, probably with that levitation charm. He glanced around a moment, wondering if he'd see any of them snickering. There wasn't though. "We've got this. You can do it."

†-----------------†--------------「 Wood to Ash 」-----------------†--------------†@.Liana Kerr†-----------------†--------------「 Fire 」-----------------†--------------†----Vale made a sound of glee when the older boy agreed to not using magic. As far as she was concerned, using magic among artifacts filled with volumes of knowledge would not end well.
"Thank you so unkindly!" Vale made a large smile, and without another moment, climbed onto Simon's back in hopes of reaching her beloved doll.
"Come on Jela! Why are you so mad at me today?" The young girl took to questioning her doll, raising her arms up already to reach for the small sack, making a wicked smiled down onto the two beneath.
"If its about the tea party, don't worry. I promise we'll have it tonight with everyone else, ok?" Vale's large smile soon turned into a frown, her arms raised out as if she was hugging someone.
But, like it was all on cue, a book where the doll rest fell down and onto Vale's head. "Ow! That was mean! That's it, no Earl Grey for you!" The young girl hissed out, rubbing her head gently from the new impact injury. "You know I have to be in top shape for broom racing! No head injuries!" Vale did not recognize that her fellow helper was also a broom racer, and one she would see on the field in the near future as well.
"Take care, my unkindly stranger. She's in a fit." And with that, it was time for Vale to get to work on collecting her supposed rampaging doll.

Finally replying to @Vale Ashwood
"Falling books ahead, got it," he said, wishing he had thought of that sooner and maybe he could have moved some, bringing Vale into some safety. "I'll try to use those broom racing reflexes from down here so you avoid further injury," he said with a smile. "I'm on the Hufflepuff team. Try is the keyword there. I was hit at the end of the first race against Ravenclaw three times. Three." He was still a little bitter about that. Yes, throwing objects was a legal move but for three of them to target him when they knew they were already going to lose was just in poor sport. He had the biggest headache for days.
It was then that Simon realized the girl had acknowledged him as a stranger and that was true, he never introduced himself, had he? He was so wrapped up in the moment of trying to help her find her lost item that he hadn't done so! That wasn't like him!
"I'm Simon," he said as he looked up to her, and gave a smile since he couldn't offer to shake her hand. Well, he could, but she needed those hands for possible book defense and doll grabbing. "Simon Kincaid. It's nice to meet you," and he meant that. The girl struck him as a unique personality.

†-----------------†--------------「 Wood to Ash 」-----------------†--------------†@.Liana Kerr†-----------------†--------------「 Fire 」-----------------†--------------†----Vale almost forgot about Jela, turning her head down to Simon with a cheerful smile.
"Broom racer! Oh how terrible! A Hufflepuff no less! Isn't it horrifying blasting through the trees and past all the hard walls? The pain is the best part! Oh-! Hufflepuff, I...oh, I race you next?" After her own race with the lions, Vale kept herself in an excited mood. Even losing, she got her wish in the end of experiencing unimaginable pain.
"Hm, Ravenclaws are spiteful, ain't they? I can't wait to crush them, just like I will with you!" A crackle escaped Vale's mouth, and she immediately stopped when she remembered where she was. Oh yes, Jela. Vale only remembered her doll when another book hit her straight on the head.
"Why are you throwing all those books at me for? You're uninvited to the tea party at this rate, missy." Vale turned back to her doll, just barely reaching for her until her fingers touched the soft texture of the small, crude doll.
"You're lucky Simon here is willing to deal with you too!" The young girl kept the boy's name in mind, knowing she'll be meeting him again in the future soon enough. "Got you!" Vale breathed out, pulling the doll down to her side. A sigh of relief escaped her lips. "I have Jela now." Usually Vale had to worry about worst things falling onto her whenever the doll was in her moods, but maybe it took consideration of the person behind the girl this time. Whatever the case, Vale had the doll in her grasps now.
"You may put me down now, my future victim."

Placing @Vale Ashwood down
Simon thought the thrill was the best part, not the pain, but hey - everyone had their thing. "Yea, the badgers take on the snakes next," he said, stating as if the badgers had the upper hand to win the race. Honestly, he didn't really know much about how the Slytherin team was doing this year with the exception that they had also won their first race. They were probably pretty evenly matched.
He continued to look up, making sure that a third book wouldn't hit the girl but luckily she was able to reach her doll and he lowered her back to the ground where it was safe from such falling hazards. "Hey now, I don't think I've ever played the victim," he said with a smile. No, he'd be a competitor, that was for sure and if the Hufflepuff team would lose, then he would take the loss graciously.
He looked down to the doll, glad it was back in the girls' possession since she seemed quite fond of it. "Putting on your own Tea Party or are you talking about the upcoming one that the staff is doing for Valentine's Day?" That particular one was happening in ten days time and Simon wasn't quite looking forward to it. It would be on his Birthday, as he was a Valentine's Day baby, and surely he would see his friends, but he anticipated there might be some tension. Practicing for one didn't sound like that bad of an idea, although he didn't suppose he actually would.
