Can Evil be Reversed? pv Emily R. Brewer

Emily woke up earlier than expected, she hadn't been having lots of sleep lately and had been extremely tired, she forced herself out of bed and looked through her window, it was still very dark, altho it was winter so mornings were always pretty dark, she could see on the colour of the sky that it was barely 6 am. She took one of her favourite books and started reading, when the sky started to clear up she got dressed and decided to head down to the Great hall to get some dinner.

As she walked through the corridors she was Cody in front of her, she had never really talked to him, but she had definitely seen him before. As she got closer she heard him singing? Was Cody singing, wow he must be very very happy, Emily thought. As Cody took his seat at the Gryffindor table, she hesitated for a second but then decided to head over to the Table and take her seat next to him. Before she arrived at the table, she saw Cody throwing a hand full of potatoes at the person sitting next to him. She ran over to the table and immediately gave the person next to him a tissue to clean up the mess. "I'm so sorry, Cody here tent's to get mad when he sees smashed potatoes, my apologies" she said and grabbed Cody's arm, she dragged him to the closest wall of the Great hall and pushed him against it.

"What on earth? That kid did literally nothing to you? And you just threw a hand of dinner at him? Really? Is that what you're going for, bully of the year? You should be ashamed. I don't know you very well, but i know that that is not what people say about you, weren't you supposed to be the funny kind guy? Well, I'm not really seeing that!" She said. Emily was not really high tempered, but if there was something that worked on her nerves very easily it was or bullying, or people ruining their own reputation. She looked at Cody, as seriously as she could be, waiting for a response.

Well- his fun didn't last long. Now did it? He was brutally jerked away from his food towards the wall. "What the hell do you think you're doing? You- you- you git!"

Cody was so angry, he wanted to stomp on the Ravenclaw. She seemed to be the bully in this situation. Cody sensed a comment was needed in this situation.

"Well ExCuSe me for putting people in their place. I believe they have their own necessary bubble of air to breathe, and it AIN'T AROUND ME. Why did you decide to drag me away?"

Cody would now attempt to distract her.

"Does that mean you love me? Don't worry. I'm not in love with you. Well- maybe you should worry." Cody said, menacingly laughing.

The young part goblin would look at the girl again, then say something else.

"You know what? If you grab me like that again, I will have a grave ready for you. Cause we will duel."

Yikes, Cody turned menacing fast. And that was over grabbing him and pulling him AWAY from the boy who he threw potatos at? Man. He really needed a calming mechanism, not that Cody would listen right off the bat.

Emily looked at him, as disgusting as she could, pff putting the boy in his place, the only thing the boy had done was enjoying his meal "Ah he disrespected your bubble of air because you went sitting next to him? Oh yea that sounds very very logical, you need some more math classes mate Shes aid. She was quite annoyed with the way Cody acted.

As she heard what Cody said about being in love with him she felt quite silent, of course, she wasn't in love with him, but she was in love-ish with someone else at least. "Pff shut it, Steverson, you could only wish a girl like me fell in love with you" She said.

She looked at him like "What did you just say" pf duelling her, she had never fuelled before and she couldn't as well, but that didn't stop her. "Sure duell, let your magic fix it for you, why not a good old smack in your face hu?" She said, she didn't want to fight him, but she felt like that might happen. She followed him while he ran away.

"Don't turn you're back on me you coward, you shouldn't have attacked that boy like that, go apologies, now!" She said while grabbing his arm. "You get back here, just apologise, and don't be such a wussy, I don't know what got into you, but you are not some dark bad wizard trying to rule the world, Steverson, you are Cody, so act as yourself damnit" She yelled, she looked around as she noticed how hard she had talked, she let him go, and walked over to the Ravenclaw table, she took a deep breath and started filling her place.

Cody rolled his eyes. Him? With more math? That was his worst subject back in the muggle school he went to. Of course, it was a public school, but it was hell.

"Don't tell me to shut it. You did say my name wrong. It's SteveNson. not with an R. And did you just say I wish to have a girl like you? Heh. Well- jokes on- well- I don't have a lover or a date yet."

Cody looked offended. "A GOOD OL SMACK IN THE FACE? HOW OLD DO YOU THINK I AM? I. AM. T W E L V E. " The young part goblin said, as he over enuthicated the word twelve.

But then the girl seemed to go back to her table. Cody wanted to keep pestering her. She seemed like such a good rival too.

"Me? Apologize? It'll be a cold day in hell when that happens." The boy would never admit to being kind, or to even apologize.

"I'm NOT trying to be the next dark wizard! I'm trying to prove the sorting hat wrong! That's why I've-" Cody started trailing off, hating how he admitted to the true reason for why he acted the way he did.

He walked over to the boy, and apologized, and gave him his potato.

But, that didn't stop him from intentionally tripping the next one getting up in front of Brewer.

She looked back around when she heard the boy raging out against her. She rolled her eyes and smacked her hand against her face when Cody made the "How old do you think i am" joke. She turned around and looked at him. "[color=#0054d]Even Satan would kick you out. You're not evil enough[/color]" She said.

She was shocked when the boy suddenly apologised and then returned. She looked at him, and then she understood. "Wait, so this entire "Ah I'm cody I throw potatoes in your face so fear me" Phase has been because the sorting hat sorted you ... wrong?, Ohgosh" She said, she roles her eyes and smacked her head once more.

"You daft dimbo" She said. "Is that what is bothering you? Wanna be a snake or something? Let me make this clear, the fact that you are a Hufflepuff doesn't define that you love Plants, you are scared of monsters or are weak! Hufflepuff's are amazing! Hufflepuffs rock! They are sweet, sensitive, smart, brave, and help others when needed! But of course, if you want to be a little git then that can too, it's not because you are a Hufflepuff that you can't mischief. You just have proven yourself very well. she said, she pulled him down, so he'd sit on the bench next to her.

"I get that i's not easy, i wanted to be a Gryffindor as well, but look i got Ravenclaw, and i love it! People ask me to do their homework cause i look smart, and i just ditch them, why? Because i can haha. Don't worry that much about a stupid house, you are who you are, no matter which house you are sorted into." She said and smiled.

"I- I regret saying a damn thing. Why must you target me? Am I forced to be a victim now? Do I have to do whatever the hell you want me to do?" Cody said, his eyes welling up. He hated how the Sorting Hat didn't give him the House he desired, but again, there was a kernel of truth in what Brewer said.

The sorting hat did determine your house based on what they thought you'd fit best in, what could be your best growing path. For Cody, he despised plants and that made Herbology his least favorite. But, he did like Defense Against the Dark Arts. He already learned Verdimillious, Periculum, Mucus Ad Nausuem, Flipendo, and Fumos. And well, he seemed to rather like being in the presence of the greatest Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Cody got to know his very first year, which it was his first year anyways, but still.

But, the thought of Emily being right was infuriating. Cody quickly withdrew his wand, and pointed it towards her, snarling out his next few words. "I. AM. NOT. SOMEONE. A. HAT. CAN. DICTATE." Cody said, making the wand movement for the Knockback Jinx.

"FLIPENDO!"

With that being said, and him succeeding it seemed, Cody threw his wand down in a celebratory manner. He then started to sing a segment of a song by AC/DC in an attempt to mock Emily.

"Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing

Emily was shocked by his reaction, she never thought he would rage out like that, she had never seen him react like this and never expected him to. He always looked like a kind and sweet person. When he started yelling about the hat, she had gone all lost. What did he mean with a hat cannot dictate him? The hat just chose a house, how would that be dedication.

Emily took a step back when he took out his want, once he called out Flippendo, she tried to step back but the spell hit her right in the chest. She flew a few meters back and landed on her back, with her eyes closed. Her head had hit the ground very unpleasant, after a few seconds, she tried to crawl herself back up by putting her weight on her elbows, placing those onto the floor. She looked up at Cody all in shock but bursting with anger. "Cody freaking Stevenson, Have you gone absolutely, completely mad?". She yelled, the anger inside of her gave the energy she had never felt before. She got up and ran towards him.

She pushed him against the wall, holding him against it by pressing her hand onto his chest. "Lowering yourself to this level, attacking a girl, me? For what? For telling you to get your crab together?" She yelled, she pushed his chest hard towards the wall and smacked her hand right onto his right cheek. "The next time i see you, your check won't be the only thing facing my hand!" she yelled, she stepped back and walked out of the Great Hall, full of anger starting to realise what she had done.

She never ever had ever hurt anyone, she had hit him, right in the face. She had lowered herself to his level. Anxiety started overwhelming the anger, a tear from the stress and emotions rolled down her cheek. She turned around, ran towards Cody. I am deeply sorry! I never meant to... meant to... she said and turned back around, now heading towards the Ravenclaw table, took her seat back and looked at her plate, staring in the nowhere.

[font=century gothic]Cody so badly wanted to glare at Emily. She dared to slap Cody! Cody was one that- that- she ran away. Crying it seemed. Or not. Cody wasn't sure. But when she came back and apologized. Cody felt a bit of flushed humiliation, ad it seemed to be a bit comedic. But Cody ran down to the Ravenclaw Table, after being shoved up against the wall and being partially in shock.

"Listen. I'm sorry that I bullied several people, but I can't guarantee my immediate halt. Do you believe I can do so? I don't. I see that I can be haunting, to some, as I might just be a bully. But in other perspectives, I might just want to be a scary wannabee." That being said, Cody gave Emily a quick hug then went back to retrieve his wand, but went back to his old habits right off the bat. Like he said, he wasn't about to give up his terms. His past.

The same boy he threw mashed potato at, he noticed him getting up then tripped him. Cody crawled under the Hufflepuff's long table, and attempted to hide from Emily if she were to look for him, otherwise he would stay and attempt to stay out of sight.

Cody refused to explain the hat part further, but he hated the Sorting Hat, felt it was inclinded to put Cody in the unwanted Houses. And so, Cody bent over and sobbed. [/font]

Emily was quite surprised by the affection and emotions he suddenly showed. She stood still, staring at the wall for a while a bit shocked by his reaction. She gave herself a quick shake to get back to the situation and slowly walked towards Cody. I didn't feel pity, but she felt like she understood what he was going through. Emily never had an issue with her house, but she certainly had times that she was someone she didn't want to be. Emily doubted a thousand times her wizard being, was this what she wanted? Or was it just life choosing that?

Emily took the seat next to him and lay down her head onto his shoulder trying to be comforting. She wasn't that good with touch, She was very empathic herself, but she had never had close contact with friends as sure as strangers. She got quite used to Junipers big hugs, which she got to enjoy after a long time of getting used to. But some things just never change. After a while, she finally decided to say something. "Hey... You'll be okay. I get that life isn't easy, and sure when everyone here is extra differently than anyone else, their differences in the muggle world, but here everyone is just... Extra different, extra special. So are you, you might be a Hufflepuff but does that define who you are inside? No, you are beautiful the way you are Cody, no matter what anyone tells you, even what your brains tell you. you are who you are and that is beautiful!" She said softly
