It was a usual Sunday afternoon for Simon. He spent the morning reading passages from the Bible he brought from home. If it were a Sunday back in London, he and his Aunt Maggie would have attended service and he would have sang in the Youth Choir. After that they would have welcomed some into their home for a luncheon. It was a Sunday tradition. It felt weird not doing all that at Hogwarts.

Still, if Hogwarts offered anything - it was that Hogwarts offered everything. Sometimes you just had to know where to look for it. If one wanted some Sunday Morning Reverence, they could find it within themselves and within the walls of the castle. A place like the Library was a good place for that, with its large stained glass windows that (thankfully) filtered out some of the sunlight from outside.

After awhile, he would place that book carefully down and go scavenge the shelves for some books. This particular visit he grabbed several on vampires, or ones that made reference to vampires. It was quite difficult to find research on the topic, but hew as determined to know as much about the creatures as he possibly could - even if it meant seeing if they could get books from other libraries, he could write some of the researchers by owl himself, or if he could purchase some books on the topic himself. He needed to study up.

Bluebell woke up early that day. Sunday. She didn’t like Sundays, which was probably weird for a girl her age. However, when she was back at home, Sunday would always be exciting. It was the day where she would go on an adventure.
Sunday used to be Adventure day, where she would go swim in a Lake not to far away, go hiking or fight imaginary Pirates on the playground nearby. Scratch that last part. She’d also fight imaginary villains on other days.
And she loved those days. But she was never alone when adventuring! Always with Adrien or her parents.
Now, Hogwarts was the perfect location for adventures, but going alone wasn’t fun. Now, Bluebell didn’t spend her Sundays all alone, she would sometimes talk to a person she knew a bit or eating with the others, but there was never a person that she spent the day with.
But today was slightly different. Not from the start, but after lunch, when the girls she was sitting with went of to who-knows-where. Because then, Bluebell had an idea. She could just go to the library and see if there was anything interesting to read. Maybe about… oh, she would see. It would be an adventure anyways!
So, she did exactly that. When she arrived at the library, she was surprised to find that there were quite a few other students there, despite the weather. She shrugged and headed to a random section. Charms. Oh no, that wasn’t an adventure section with interesting books. Bluebell changed section and saw that it was about Magical Creatures. Now we’re talking! She took out a book and saw it was titled ‘Zouwus - everything you need to know’, so she provably started on the ‘wrong’ side. She browsed a bit further but didn’t find anything interesting, until she came to the letter D. Dragons! They were wonderful creatures! Blue pulled one book out of the shelf and started browsing through it. Yup. She was going to check out that one. Or read it here. She turned around and accidentally slammed the book’s corners into a boy. (It was a hard-cover) “Oh my Merlin! I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you! Did I hurt you? I’m sorry!” Bluebell started rambling apologies, not really mking the situation better.

He was nearly at the end of one of the aisles when a girl made a quick turn and ran directly into him, all too fast to where he, with normally quicker reflexes, couldn't even prevent it from happening. A large book dug into his side and he was met immediately by an apology. Several apologies.

He looked down to the Ravenclaw and gave her a smile. She seemed kind already with stating her regret at something that was just an accident. "Hey, hey, it's okay," he said quickly, hoping that his smile and words would show that he wasn't upset in the slightest. "Are YOU okay?" he asked, also concerned if she got hurt in any way. One colliding with a dhampir could be a little hard because of his strength.

His eyes fell on the book she was looking at and he realized it was one he had actually looked at before when trying to research some on vampires. "Ah, that's a good one. There's some really good information about dragons and centaurs in there." Which he wasn't sure centaurs should really be in the same book as dragons, but what did he really know. He couldn't take Care of Magical Creatures until third year. He just figured that 'magical creatures' shouldn't include things of human intelligence like centaurs, veelas, goblins, vampires, werewolves, and the like.

The boy seemed okay, which he confirmed with his next words. Bluebell let out a sigh of relief, she didn’t know what she would’ve done if he had, in fact, been hurt. Probably ramble even more apologies and annoy the poor boy with it.
She couldn’t help but notice the boy’s strength and muscular build when colliding with him. She didn’t exactly hurt herself when running into him, but she felt the strength in her bones, because, boy, it did take strength to not even stumble in the slightest when being slammed into at that speed without warning. The boy smiled warmly and asked her if she was okay, to which Bluebell nodded. “Yeah, just the first shock, I guess. I mean I didn’t see you and… yeah…”, she trailed off, unsure how to respond.

Lucky for her, the boy commented on her book, giving Blue an easy escape from the awkwardness. “It is? That’s- wait! Centaurs? What are those doing in the same book? She opened the book to see that it was in fact devided into Dragons - Page 5 to 145 and Centaurs - Page 147 to 203. “Okay. Not sure why they’re in the same book, but hey, why not?”, Bluebell laughed, looking back up to the boy, “I’m Bluebell, by the way.”

Bluebell. Simon didn't think he had ever come across a Bluebell before, not even in passing or throughout his schooling 'career' or any of his extracurricular activities. Lots of girls named Lily, and even a Daisy here and there - but never a Bluebell. "Bluebell," he repeated. "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Simon."

"Might I escort you to a table so you don't attack another poor unsuspecting soul with that murder weapon of yours?" he asked, the smile prevalent on his face and showed that he was being playful. If she would let him, he'd slip the book out of her hands and walk with her to one of the tables somewhat nearby where he'd set it down.

"I've seen photographs of those Bluebell woods in some parts of England and even in Belgium. At least, I believe it's Belgium." Wherever. Simon had seen photographs of places in a forest where the groundscape was covered with hundreds, if not thousands, of bluebells. Clear until the eye could see. It was certainly beautiful - not that he ever planned to see it in person. He tended to avoid most things when it came to nature. Not by choice.

"So what brings you this research?" he asked her curiously. Maybe it was for a class. Maybe it was curiosity.

Bluebell smiled at Simon as he offered to escort her to a table. Playfully, she exclaimed: “Hey! I’m the poor unsuspecting soul here, you almost gave me a heart attack. People can die from that, so you’re just as much of a killer as I am!”, trying to keep a straight face. “But yes, you are permitted the high honor of escorting me to a table.”

After a second or two, Simon told her about Bluebell fields in Belgium. “Yeah, there’s one just behind my grandparents place. My mum used to play in it as a kid, so she decided that she would name her daughter that way, if she were to have one. Nothing could change her mind, so here I am.” ‘Not even dad’s last name’, Bluebell thought bitterly, but didn’t say it, because first, then Simon would ask what her last name was and second, she did like the names Bluebell and Daffodil, just not the combination.

They started walking and Simon asked her why she was researching dragons. “It isn’t exactly research, because I just browsed through the books looking for something interesting. And well, I’ve been a fan of dragons since I can remember. They’re beautiful, don’t you think?”, she asked him, genuinely curious of his answer.

"High honor, hmm? Forgive me, madame, for I merely mistook you for a commoner," he played along with the charade, now not making her out to just be an attempted murderer but now making her out to be high society, high class, royalty and he as if he were some lowly type.

When she mentioned there had been a field of those flowers outside of her grandmother's house and her mum grew up with him, he wondered if the Ravenclaw herself before him saw them. She also mentioned something about her father's last name which he could assume - usually rightfully so - that was her last name as well and he was curious as to what it was. Now, not everyone shared their father's last name. There were people out there like him who didn't even KNOW his father's name, let alone share the same surname.

"Dragons is certainly what initially drew me to this world. I grew up not knowing any of it. My mum went here but she passed away when I was young and my Aunt Maggie she's just a muggle. Learning that merpeople and unicorns existing...that was pretty crazy. Spells, enchantments, jinxes...also crazy. But when I found out that actual living DRAGONS existed...damn; it blew my mind," he smiled to her.

The books that he had with him though would reveal another sort of fascination, but it wasn't out of hobby. No, he had two reasons for wanting to study as much about vampires as he could: 1) he was half so, and 2) he was pretty sure a man he met that past summer was not only his father, but a vampire and their paths would probably cross again. Always good to keep informed.

"Okay, so I have to ask," he tried not to but he couldn't get the curiosity out of his mind. "You said nothing would change your mum's mind, not even dad's last name. Do tell."

"Indeed, high honor. And you are very lucky that I bumped into you, sir, as I now see myself forced to forgive your mistaking me for a- a commoner!", Bluebell exclaimed with an outraged expression and mumbled something that sounded suspiciously like 'peasant'.

"They blow my mind too", Blue smiled, not finding anything else to add, but then she did, not being able to bear a possible silence falling between them. "I heard of people trying to ride them, but there are very few persons to have. I want to be added to that list of names one day. So, yeah, I guess they just fascinate me!"

But then it came. The question. She bit her lip and forced herself to look at Simon. He seemed nice so far, so let's go for it, right? "Daffodil. My Dad's last name is Daffodil, so my nickname is, uh, Flower McFlower, yeah" She didn't have to add that last part, but for some reason she did, and now Simon would probably call her that. Or he'd come up with a completely new nickname or none. Or maybe they'd never talk again after today. But Blue didn't really want that. Simon seemed nice and she hoped they'd become friends.
She stopped and motioned to a table with the book and asked: "Do you want to sit there? That is, if you would like to sit with me, commoner." Bluebell grinned at Simon and took a step into that direction.

Having the honor to speak with Princess@Bluebell Daffodil

Simon smiled when she called him a peasant under her breath. Oh it was on.

"The princess dreams of riding dragons. And to think, m'lady, that most princesses would dream of a knight saving them from such a beast," and he said the last part a little exaggerated because he truly didn't think of dragons as a beast. Not Simon, the Second Year Hufflepuff anyway, but right now he was Simon the lowly peasant.

She then stated her name and he smiled a little. "Your name is inspired by nature and nature is beautiful. There's nothing shameful about that." Besides, she knew why she was named and that was something in itself. "I heard Simon means to hear or to listen and Ezra means helper," and he thought both of those really went with his personality. "Now Kincaid," his surname, "means battle leader and I don't know how that plays into things unless I'm going to lead a group of people into battle someday," he grinned, as the likelyhood of that was rather low. ...So he thought.

"Perhaps I'm to save a floral princess from an evil dragon, act as a knight although I'm but a lowly peasant" he shrugged. She then invited him to sit and he took her up on the offer. "M'lady is too kind. Too kind, indeed," he said and pulled out a chair for her to sit. One could NEVER sit before the princess. Simon enjoyed this little charade of theirs.

Once she would sit down, he would come join her at the table, bringing up his bag and some of the books he had with him. There would be one on magical plants for an Herbology assignment he was working on, one would be a book by a muggle author called Les Misérables, and two would be about The Living Dead - creatures like vampires and inferi.

He would also pull out two notebooks and a self-inking quill. The one notebook is where he kept any and every little question that he had about the wizarding world and the second was where he kept his current songs in progress as he wrote them. He opened up the first one and wrote down 'riding dragons' because that was something he had yet to come across and it sounded rather fascinating to learn about. Someday he would look it up.

"I think that dragons are majestic creatures, just worthy of my riding. But not the ones in the bank, well, while it is of course horrible to hold them like that", Bluebell pondered, breaking character for that last phrase, only to resume her dignity again, "those dragons are nothing but wild beasts; they have no will of their own. So, if you must, you, my pretending knight in shining armor, may save me from one of those beasts one day. Perhaps that courageous deed would be enough for you to be made a real knight. If you prove yourself, that is."

Bluebell grinned, now no longer the floral princess, but a normal witch. "I like the name 'floral princess', it has a nice touch to it. And thanks, your way of describing my name's really beautiful! As for your name... I'm sure you'll make a wonderful battle leader one day. Or you'll just listen to the helper of a battle leader, because you're so low in rank you're under the helper's orders." Bluebell shrugged playfully, but then added: "The first possibility however, is, I wouldn't say probable, 'cause I really hope there won't be a battle any time soon, but I do think you would do a great job if there was. I guess I'll be there too, uh, taking care of the damaged plants the soldiers march on? Oh Merlin, that sounds kind of stupid! I knew, I should've studied flower lore! Then I could do something a bit more interesting...", she laughed, sitting down on the chair Simon pulled out.

Simon pulled out a book on magical plants - too bad, there probably wasn't anything about the symbolism of non-magical flowers, like Bluebells or Daffodils - and a quill. No ink, so probably self-inking. No, wait! He reached into his bag again, so it probably was a normal quill and he'd take out the ink now.
Wrong again. Simon pulled out to notebooks and scribbled something down in one of them. Curious, Blue asked: "What are those notebooks for, peasant?"
