Sitting with her hair down Dakota ran her hand along the book that sat in her lap. Having been enjoying the sunlight as she relaxed, waiting on Henry to arrive. Her blue eyed gaze examined the area around herself, breathing softly as her thoughts swirled. She had now been friends with Henry Knight since June fourth, making it fifteen days. In this time, she had met his cat, Loki, having brought her plastic box of tuna flavored cat treats and a yarn ball for the cat. Her lips had a small smile along them, she had been enjoying her time with her new friends and now the school year was very quickly coming to its end. While she was excited to go home and see her cat as well as her siblings, well, the ones that weren’t going to be a rampager. she thought as she puffed out a breath.
But, even then it wouldn’t be so bad, she still had people she could write to if she needed. Her grandparents had also ended up finding a few of her fathers things in their attic which Dakota was excited to go through, knowing that, like her, her father liked to document things. When his temper didn’t act up.. her mind rung and she sighed, that’s one thing she hadn’t gotten, her fathers temper. Blinking lightly she tilted her head, her lips pressed together as the memories flooded in slowly but surely.
Having a small bag by her feet is what stored her books for today, most of her books being on animals from the muggle world. She was a bit embarrassed about that since she still didn’t have too much knowledge on many of the other animals in the wizarding world. She had been looking into them whenever she could but since she couldn’t take books out the library and she only could handle sitting in there when there were barely any other people in the library it made it a bit harder to find the perfect timing. Brushing a hand along her grey button up jersey that has the Batman symbol in black and yellow, opened to reveal a cream colored tank top and paired with pale blue jeans that have distress along the knees, a belt with white embroidered roses and a pair of black flip flops.

Henry stepped out onto the grounds, the young teen took a deep breath smiling at the day ahead. He hoisted his message type bag a bit higher on his shoulder as his orange feline; Loki trotted beside him.

It was June 19th. His second year was quickly coming to a close and summer would be arriving. The young teen wasn't looking forward to the summer holiday but he did enjoy that month, a lot has happen in June so far.

Henry recieved detention with his best friend; Logan Baird for sneaking or trying to sneak into the restricted section. And Henry met a new friend; Dakota Olson who the boy was able to nerd out about animals and magical creatures with.

Henry was meeting her that day and felt a bit odd. He had deep bags underneath his eyes, appeared thinner than usual, and only to family members looked around pale while he sounded almost sickly or like he had a sore throat.

There was a full moon on the 24th, Lee's than a week away and Henry could feel that this transformations would be one of the worst that the young werewolf would go through. Henry only told a few friends and wanted to tell Dakota, he felt like he could trust her but wasn't sure how to bring it up.

As he approached the girl, Henry would give her a smile and small wave as Loki ran up to her and set a paw on her leg. Loki would give a single meow asking to be petted but as usual he wouldn't meow.

The young teen would set his bag besides him before taking a seat next to Dakota as he spoke"Hey, how have you been Dakota?"

Dakotas gaze went down towards Loki first, reaching down and petting his head before moving the book with “deadly little voices” written as the title and hoisting the orange cat up into her lap. As she pulled the box of tuna flavored treats from out of the bag at her feet Dakota blinked up at Henry, giving him a warm smile “hello, I’ve been..decent, you?” keeping her smile, she flipped open the lid to the plastic box. Stroking Loki’s back she pulled out a few treats and offered them to the cat before looking back at Henry with a worried look. “You don’t look so good—if you’re sick or not feeling up to it we can always reschedule meeting up some other day.” Dakotas voice still sounded as sweet and smooth as honey, she seemed genuinely concerned for the health of her new friend as she puffed.
Dakota still looked almost exactly like when Henry first met her, still having a round, more childlike face, crystal blue, round eyes, golden brown hair and honey-golden skin. Though, now her nails were basically chewed to the nail bed where she couldn’t chew them any further, still seeming quite anxious about returning home. Pausing, she moved her hand that had been stroking Loki’s back and began rubbing behind one of his ears, she had enjoyed spending time around Henry and his sweet yet mischievous cat. So much so, Dakota had been working to make a drawing of Henry and Loki, though this could also be for the reason Dakota enjoys documenting the way people and animals look to help her remember.

Henry nodded a bit toward Dakota when he heard the answer, he was glad that his friend was at least okay at best and figured she was probably thinking about returning home for the holidays again just like when he first met.

"I have been fine as well," Henry spoke with a small smile which was technically telling the truth. He has better minus his recent transformation coming on and the overwhelming feeling about returning home but besides from the two he has been rather okay himself.

The young teen would set his bag beside him and sit down on the ground beside Dakota, crossing on leg under the other while Loki tensed up and batted at Dakota a bit when the girl moved him to her lap. The orange feline still had rather large trust issues with others and didn't show affectation like most other cats did but he quote sat down on her lap and watched her take out the treats.

The feline would eat a few from her as he flicked his tail, once dome however he would give a single meow which was either him asking for treats or attention. It was hard to pinpoint the motivate of the feeling that still didn't purr.

Henry smiled a bit toward his cat before hearing his friends concerns and responding" I'm fine, just haven't sleeping and skipping a few meals is all," both are technically true but the main reason for his appearance was one that he wasn't sure when he would tell his friend yet. He didn't want to lose her or change their relationship in anyway.

Henry would pull a book out from his bag, it was a leather bound one that didn't hold a cover picture or title but the young teen still held it out as he spoke" I saw it in the library and I liked it, it's on centaurs. I thought you might to," Henry smiled toward the first year which was when he noticed her nails and asked about them gently, " are you alright? Still nervous about the summer holiday?"

Her lips twisting lightly she gave Henry a unconvinced but still worried look. She decided not to push it, instead giving him a light smile and rubbing at the spot between Loki’s ears before offering a few more treats. “You really shouldn’t skip meals—it has a bad effect on your body, take it from someone who did it for years.” Dakotas growth had been affected by this, but she didn’t mention the first part as she was known to stay up into the light hours and sometimes not actually sleep at all.
Blinking, she looked down at the leather bound book before giving Henry a warm smile. “Sounds interesting, I’ll definitely read it.” reaching to take the book she paused. Hearing his question, she blinked down at her nails, not only had she been repeatedly chewing on them but she had also been picking at the skin around them, sometimes causing a few drops of blood to slip out. “Er, well, yes..” sucking in a breath she bit down on her lip “im sure it’ll be fine, chewing my nails is just a old habit for anxiety that I can’t break.” this was the truth, it had always been something Dakota did, that or licking her lips till they were irritated and red.

"I did it before and I know the science why I shouldn't, just something that I did before coming to hogwarts but thanks Dakota," Henry replied sometimes forgetting how seriously skipping meals could be. The young teen did it before Hogwarts, his twin and him use to make themselves breakfast then depending when their father got home they either skipped lunch or dinner. If it was lunch then that night they either made themselves something or their father did but if it was dinner then they made themselves lunch and their father was still out.

Henry smiled a bit toward the girl when he heard her comment about reading it as he held the book on his knee before speaking" it's bloody interesting, just remember to return it to the library before the holiday for me please," Henry would smile a bit toward the girl before brushing a strand of hair from his blue eyes while Loki gave another meow. A short one but definitely loud enough to the two students, choosing to stay on Dakota's lap for the moment.

"You have anxiety," Henry asked turning his gaze to the hufflepuff as he would smile softly and speak" I have anxiety as well, I hope your nails grow back through," the young teen found it odd how much they have in common and was glad that they were friends.

Dakota smiled softly at Henry, she was worried for her friend but she definitely didn’t want to push too much in fear of driving him away. It’s clear that Dakota is use to her cat, Kaelum, who enjoys curling up in her lap and slumbering while Dakota does whatever she wants. “I’m such it is, a lot of books are interesting, just depends on what demographic it’s centered towards.”. Dakota gave a light laugh as she used a joking tone “I think I’d prefer to keep it..” smiling sweetly at Henry she nodded “of course I’ll make sure to return it, no need to worry.” though Dakota had been joking at first, she switched to a more serious tone when she said that.
Reaching down she grabbed the yarn ball, a little strip of yarn being out for Loki to chase if he pleases and the rest glued down so he can’t eat the yarn. Closing the box of treats she rolled the yarn ball along the dirt, seeing if Loki will chase after it. “I made one do Kaelum a few years back, he loved it, I thought Loki might like it too.” smiling, she watched the cat. Dakota wouldn’t be upset if Loki didn’t want it currently, in fact, she’d just give it to Henry for him to let Loki play with it. Hearing his question she blinked over at Henry “yes..I have anxiety.” Dakota smiled softly at Henry, quietly thanking him as she curled her fingers against her palms.

Henry hold hand his friend the book as he listened to her, gazing into her blue eyes with a smile. The young teen did agree with her after all as he waited for a moment before replying" yeah I agree, it just depends on the demographics and facts in the book," Henry said facts but what he actually meant was prejudice.

Some books held prejudice against certain creatures or races while others didn't, so it depended which of the two you had. Then there was also the fact if the book was creditable or author was knowledgeable that also seemed like a important part when choosing books.

"If you do keep it then I'll let the librarian know and she'll ban you from borrowing books instead of me," Henry replied with a playful tone and wide smile, the young teen was joking and nodded toward the hufflepuff's words about returning the book.

He would be devastated perhaps if he got banned from the library or from borrowing books and didn't wish that upon anyone else, after all he was a bookworm.

Henry nodded toward his friends words as he watched her roll a yarn ball on the ground before speaking" thanks for making one for Loki, it takes him a while to get use to a place if he doesn't play here with it but back at home I'm sure he will play with it," smiling a bit as he watched Loki climb off of Dakota's lap and move slowly to the ball.

The orange feline batted at the ball once and then sniffed it before batting at again, this time pushing the ball a bit so it rolled. Loki would follow the ball and bat at it occasionally as he had trust issues and wanted to play but was still unsure of his surrounds. Often looking around him as he batted the ball around.

Henry would smile at his feline before reaching into his bag and taking out a mouse toy that had a bell around its neck and handing it to Dakota as he spoke" a thank you gift for the ball from Loki to Kaelum."

Nodding, she grimaced, Dakota knew all about ”facts”, when researching her own culture she found so many. Taking the book she slipped it down into the bag that sat beside her before returning her gaze to Henry “I can barely go IN the library, when I do it’s just to run in, borrow a book then run back out.” laughing softly she kept her smile, this was the truth and though the reasoning behind it wasn’t as laughable, she kept that off to the side of her mind. Watching Loki with keen eyes she nodded “no need to thank me, it’s safer than him playing with just a random yarn ball and swallowing the yarn.” Dakota blinked over at Henry, she was a bit of a helicopter owner when it came to her cat, especially since he was getting up in years.
Having been watching Loki she blinked whenever Henry spoke again, turning to look at him before her eyes landed on the toy in his hands. “Oh—thank you, Henry.” giving a warm smile she lifted the toy up and once again dropped it into her bag. Dakota let out a breath as she brushed the orange cat hair off her “I’ll have to spray it with catnip spray to get Kaelum to play with it at first but I’m sure he’ll love it.” giving Henry another smile, her cheeks once again scrunched her eyes up, seeming to show that this was a genuine smile, just like when she had laughed.

OOC Note: Sorry for the wait...
It was easier for Henry to not laugh and keep a straight face as he listened to Dakota's words. It sounded odd to him at the least, mainly since the young teen spent so much of his time nestled away in the library after classes and on days off.

Thinking about the library allowed him to remember; Robyn Finley who was Henry's favorite librarian and staff personal. The young slytherin always saw her as kindhearted and helpful and was one of the only professors or adults at Hogwarts whom he trusted.

"That must be stressful, I can help you borrow or return books if you'll like Dakota," Henry asked with a smile, the young teen did always enjoy helping friends and often put them above himself even if he was particularly stressed or worried about something. Is loyalty always got the better of him.

Henry nodded to her comment about the yarn and with a small smile spoke" thank you still it is a brilliant gift," the young teen then eyed his orange feline batting it once before instantly looking up and looking around like something worried him.

That was his trust issues as the feline picked up the ball of yarn and carried it back to the two students. Loki would sit down between them and drop the ball in front of him, placing a single paw on top.

"It's the least I could to do since you made Loki that yarn ball," Henry smiled talking about the mouse with a bell around its neck. Henry knew that his feline like befriending small animals and rodent type creatures instead of chasing them so the mice toys were his felines favorite toys to snuggled up with and bat around either his house or dormitory or commim room.

"Is all of Kaelum's toys coated in catnip spray at first? That's a brilliant idea to get him comfortable with something," Henry noted as he thought of the times he gives Loki catnip which wasn't a lot. Henry didn't give him any at Hogwarts and only occasionally when they were home for the holidays.
