Finishing Up Homework

Mentioning/Interacting:@Tory Williamson #666[font=Kaufmann Bd BT]She had been hoping to grab some time to read in the library or something, but no luck. Suzuki was stuck crafting essays for history. Fighting to keep her eyes open, she turned page after page in ‘A History of Magic’, trying to find a good excerpt to write about. Yawning so widely she thought her jaw was gonna detach itself, Suzuki searched around in her case, and pulled out a bottle of ink and a quill. She pulled out a few sheaves of old parchment and squinted at the small text on the page.
Pity Hogwarts didn’t have cafes. One year, Nakamura’s mother took both Suzuki and Nakamura to Provence, France, for a visit (Suzuki’s mother was busy; she couldn’t come). It was amazing- the countryside towns were unlike anything Suzuki had ever seen. The skies were the perfect shade of blue, and the hilly landscapes were the perfect shade of green. The cafes were quiet- the perfect place to work, read, and just sit quietly and enjoy. What made the experience even better was the fact that there was a great view- a small patio overlooking the Provencal landscape.
Snapping out of her short daydream, Suzuki went back to squinting at the page and scribbling possibly useful notes down on the page. Stopping ever so often to flip a page or to dab the tip of the quill in the ink bottle, she watched the others around her work. Sighing internally as she remembered all the work she had left to do, Suzuki plucked a new sheet of parchment, and started on the first draft of the essay.

Finishing Up Homework
Another boringly average day at Hogwarts. Nothing new, nothing interesting, and definetly nothing exciting had happened lately. It seemed like every single passing second was counting down to the Blossom Ball, which Tory was both nervous and looking forward to. It would be the first ball she had ever attended, and she wasn't really sure why she was going in the first place, but she was.
The Gryffindor yawned a small yawn as she shuffled her way into the Study Room, hopeful to finish an assignment on Transfiguration that she had been putting off for the last 2 days. Tory made her way over to a random table, plopping down on the wooden seat, not even bothering to look up at the figure sitting across from where she was. She paid no mind to the busily writing person until she had ripped a piece of parchment and was dipping her quill in the ink. It was Suzuki, wasn't it?
Short, shaggy brown hair, and ashy eyes, as well as Gryffindor robes. Tory had seen this girl before, they had met in the hallway late at night. "Hullo, Suzuki." She said, her tone hushed (yet too loud to be a whisper) so she wouldn't distract other students working "How do you do?" She continued, proceeding to write her name and the title of her essay at the top of the parchment.

Finishing Up Homework

Mentioning/Interacting:@Tory Williamson #666[font=Kaufmann Bd BT]It wasn't until Suzuki had finished the first draft that she looked up. Only to find a long-haired, brunette girl in front of her. Williamson. For some random, odd reason, the maniac kind of reminded Suzuki of her mother. Like a weird, brunette version. Never mind that- Suzuki's brain was probably malfunctioning from lack of sleep. She'd even spelled 'charms' wrong. Charums.
Suzuki hated her mother. Hated her and liked her. It was probably mutual. She chose to reply to Williamson in the dullest way possible.
" Williamson. Fine." It wasn't actually fine, though. For one, Suzuki wanted to cut her hair (it was getting in the way of her vision), and she just wanted to do something. She was bored of being bored and bored of doing homework and bored of everything including something. But of course, there was no time for being bored. Additionally, she was also tired of being tired and tired of everything else including something else.
It was probably mutual.
Everything was mutual.
She kind of wanted to dump the bottle of ink over onto the table. Watch the ink spread. It would be fun, but messy. It'd probably create a racket. Better not to. Moving the quill to the ink bottle, Suzuki was disappointed when her hand didn't knock over the bottle. An accident preventing an accident. Humpf.

“Williamson. Fine.” Responded Suzuki, making Tory frown slightly. “Wow, Suzuki. Way to be exciting.” She replied flatly, forcing all her attention back to her Potions work. Suzuki moved her quill back to the ink, and for a split second, the Gryffindor thought she saw a subtle look of disappointment flash on Suzuki’s face, but then shook her head to clear her mind, what would she possibly be disappointed about? Not spilling the ink? Thought Tory,Pfffttt that was ridiculous, and weird. Who even cared about things like that? She then blindly moved her hand back to the ink, rereading the paragraph she had finished.
And then something sticky-ish and cold touched Tory’s hand. Something that felt a lot like-
Ink. Dripping and spilled, all over her neat essay (and Suzuki’s!), was the icky navy ink, spreading across the table like toxic waste. “You have got to be kidding me!” Muttered Tory angrily, feeling eyes around the room land on her. She hastily wiped it with the insides of her robe, which was probably a pretty trash idea, but it was a time of panic, what could she say. Her face was stormy and frustrated, her cheeks deep red with embarrassment mixed with irritation. “This would be a pretty handy time to know a few cleaning spells” She grumbled.

Mentioning/Interacting:@Tory Williamson #666[font=Kaufmann Bd BT]First it was the ink (Suzuki nearly applauded her), though it probably was an accident. Then, the girl used her robes (her robes!) to clean them up. Now not only the table and the floor was dirty, but Williamson's robes were dirty.
Suzuki knew the details of ink. The smell was bad for your nose (which didn't bother her since smell came out as feel for her), and the overall smell was pretty terrible. It was also incredibly hard to wash off (certain types, at least), and ink was just not something you'd want on your clothing.
Watching as the ink mottled her essay (it was badly written anyways) and dripped onto the floor, Suzuki caught a drop of the stuff with the toe of her boot. Luckily, her boots were waterproof. Parts of it, at least.
Reaching into the metal case she called a 'book bag' (a bag indeed), Suzuki pulled out sheaves of parchment, and used them to mop up the rest of the ink. She then disposed of the now wet, dripping, and discolored paper.
Returning to the desk (cleaner, but not by much), Suzuki took off her robes, and offered them to Williamson. " Wear these. I don't have rabies or lice. Seriously. Ink isn't good for your skin, or anything. Apart from essays."
She wasn't kidding.

"Yeah, right." Retorted Tory with sarcasm, though she was internally grateful for Suzuki's kind offering, as she could practically smell the ink staining her robes. She grabbed the robes from Suzuki's hand, slipping her old ones off onto the ground and pulling the newer ones on. They were slightly big on her (ok, maybe a bit more than slightly, but not like Tory would say anything), probably because Suzuki was 7 inches taller then the Gryffindor.
"Honestly, if anybody would be most likely to get rabies, it would probably be you. In fact, I'd be surprised if you haven't had rabies before." Tory stated matter-of-factly, chuckling to herself very quietly. She looked at Suzuki's uniform. 'Definetly not like her own polo, sweater, skirt and tights, that was for sure. A competely black outfit was surely not standard Hogwarts uniform, was it, but Tory didn't really care what Suzuki wore, and in all honesty, she thought that the plain black outfit fit her personality perfectly.
"Er-sorry 'bout that essay, I hope you dint work too hard on it." The young lion said sheepishly, reaching for another pieced of parchment and restarting her essay. The properties of... She began to write, but just couldn't bring herself to write a single word more. It was too boring, she'd fall asleep instantly if she forced herself to carry on. Everything at Hogwarts these days was too boring to her, and she could tell Suzuki felt the same way.

Mentioning/Interacting: @Tory Williamson #666[font=Kaufmann Bd BT]” I haven’t been bit by any animals yet.” Unless you counted the fat grey cat with flatulance issues- Suzuki had gotten bit multiple times by the creature. But then again- it’s rotting teeth were barely substantial, and the cat didn’t have rabies. Probably.
Suzuki just shrugged at the girl’s sentence about the essay. It was terribly- and she’d barely started it. But the ruined draft gave her an idea about where she wanted to go with the essay. Pulling out a new sheet of parchment, she started on the intro. It was about gargoyles; Suzuki had never actually seen any except for the ones around Hogwarts, and about those, she’d never really payed attention to them. In a way, she decided, the magical war was just like the Muggle world.
Always waging wars. Wars on fauna, wars on each other, wars on technology, wars on everything. In the Magical world, wizards seemed to always be waging wars as well- against Death Eaters, against Pixies, against gargoyles, against Goblins. It was all the same thing, really. Just showed that humans weren’t fit to lead. No one was fit to lead- couldn’t they just live?

Casting a quick, discreet, glance at Suzuki's paper, Tory could easily tell it was for the History of Magic class from the words she had spotted when Suzuki's hand wasn't covering them. 'Gargoyles', 'strike', and 'past'. It was pretty obvious. Instead of focusing on her own essay like she should have, the Gryffindor intrigued. "You like history?" She asked, thinking back to how many times she had read "Hogwarts, A History".
No, seriously, she had memorized what every chapter was about and the contents of each. It wasn't even that special of a book. Not a page-turner, and surely not the kind of story that Tory was constantly tempted to pick up and read throughout the day and her classes. Even if it wasn't exactly the most exciting, the first year absolutely adored anything historic. That was why she liked Hogwarts so much, and that was why she had read an utterly boring book to most people 18 times.
Sighing, she leaned back on the back legs of her chair and stared up at the ceiling. She wished someone would suddenly scream because an intruder of some sorts burst through a window, or some ink would explode in somebody's face. She wished anything entertaining would happen, really.

" It's fine. I prefer Astronomy, Dark Arts, and Potions, however."
Mentioning/Interacting: @Tory Williamson Outfit #666
Flipping through the textbook (thankfully it had stayed out of the way of the ink), she poked around at the pages until she found something that might be useful. While Suzuki was fine with reading anything, she didn't much like the Hogwarts textbooks. They were pretty boring, but substantial, to say the least. She much preferred to flip through pages and pages of star charts, dissect and analyze blueprints of the latest American warplanes, and read about the advanced missiles used in Muggle warfare.
" Bored? What're your interests, apart from reading?"
Absentmindedly flipping through the book, she scribbled down quick notes about previous strikes and the gory details of wizards attacking stone creatures. If you thought about it some, gargoyles were similar to AI. Artificial intelligence- some new Muggle technology she'd read about in the British newspapers. It was quite interesting- not something you saw everyday.
Rethinking her observation, Suzuki decided that they were nothing alike. Sure, AI could think for themselves in a way, but they didn't act much or think like gargoyles. Technology and magic, while having their similarities, were entirely different.
Turning back to the essay, she restarted on a lead, attempting to spin the quill around her thumb. No dice. Quills weren't pens. Reaching into her case, Suzuki pulled out a thin iron rod and spun it around her thumb, not being able to help her state of fidgetiness.

Tory sighed and looked down at her feet, ashamed of what she was about to say. "Well, I enjoy potions, and I love learning about history, though I don't love the class, and watching Quidditch. I'm also in the W.O.R.D club and Debate club, but I have no real hobbies or anything." She kept her head low, fiddling with the long sleeves of her borrowed robes.
Silence hung over the two Gryffindor's heads for a moment, but Tory finally asked, "How about you?" Suzuki seemed like she had done sports of some sort before, but the first year wasn't one to judge or guess random chunks of people's personalities. She stared hard at her almost completely blank parchment, almost as if waiting for the words to magically appear if she kept her gaze.
Groaning to herself though knowing the essay had to be done sooner or later, Tory dipped her quill in the ink again and began writing. "So uh- what're you gonna wear to the ball?" She intrigued. It was coming up later in the month, and since she had never gone to a ball or fancy event in her entire life, Tory was struggling to find what to wear. She didn't care much, but if she was going at all, she might as well go in style.
