Final Foray
This past year has been a difficult one, the long, ceaseless, tedious days would soon come to a close. At least for this academic year. Ravenclaw had close their last match against Gryffindor 20 to 240 and earlier this year against Hufflepuff 20 to 180. For the year, they have earned 40 points, placing them in last-standing for the Quidditch Cup. However, Ravenclaw was standing between Slytherin and their cup. Slytherin needed more than just a victory, they would need several goals with the quaffle if they expected to get the cup this year.Date: Saturday May 1, 2021
Slytherin had lost their first match with Gryffindor 110 to 200 but they won their second match with Hufflepuff, ending the Badger's undefeated winning streak 170 to 50. Slytherin had earned a total of 280 points for the year. They were well behind Gryffindor's 350 earned points for the year. Even with a victory in this match, it was rather possible that Gryffindor would take home the cup for the year. That is, unless Gryffindor undefeated streak for the 2020-2021 academic year is brought to an end by Hufflepuff.
This game would serve as the deciding factor regarding what team would move onto the summer matches. There were obvious favorites but there was also the viable possibility that an extreme upset would change the course of anticipated matches. That said, the stadium was abuzz with excitement. Several students held hand-made signs declaring their favored house. Many of the students wore their house colors as a statement of pride. The weather was good, temperate. One of the warmest days of the school year. The sky was slightly overcast, leaving a blanket of grey over the heavens and a cool northern breeze ran through the pitch.Gryffindor Points to date: 350

Final Foray
Erin was not one to dawdle, she was one of the first onto her broom and onto the pitch. Her long, blonde hair was pulled back from her face and tied back into a low-hanging tail. She wore her armor with pride and swung her bat around as she circled the pitch. She was not anyone's particular favorite for reasons such as friendliness or personality but she was a powerhouse and she knew it. She did not know most of the opposing team. Ravenclaws seemed to keep to themselves for the most part. She recognized Silverton only because they were in the same year but they were not close, the girl was a bit (a lot) of a cry baby. As for the rest, meh. She shrugged her shoulders at the lack of thought. It was amazing the house could even muster a team with all of the deathwitches and midget giants wandering about. Hopefully they would give her a good game.
"Palmer!" she would shout to her captain. She did not bother wasting time with his full name, for all she knew there were several Dans on the opposing team but unlikely any Palmers. "Want me to take out one of the Beaters or do you want the Seeker gone?" She was not much for the secret plotting (because the author was not) sop she would simply verbalize her thoughts (and potential misdirection) out loud for all to hear. She would make a rough gesture in the direction of Bloom and then towards some bookish fellow (Jorah) and some little thing that might die of anemia in flight (Gabriella). Wow, why are there so many nerds... "Get back to the library you came from!"

Final Foray
While it was sad to lose their last game, they had another chance to come out from the bottom. This was Bloom's second game and this time around, she was given first string rather than second string. Perhaps it was her playing abilities during the first game that made them want her in first... Bloom shook her head. She did not want it going to her head about her playing. All of this was new to her.
Bloom mounted her new broom, a Nimbus 1700, given to her by the team. She pushed her body up, and soon enough began to levitate out into the open field where her opponents and teammates were.
Cheers were surrounding them; the stands filled with blue and green. She could hear both teams being cheered on and she couldn't help but the smile at them. Tearing away from her focus on the crowds, she looked over to a Slytherin who told them to go back to the library where they came from. Bloom's smile disappeared.
Bloom's eyes tore away from the Slytherin to her team captain, Cecily. Bloom knew it was time to get into their first formation for the game to start.

This is it. The last match for this academic year before the green eyes will move up to become a third year. Good thing the last match for the year fall on Saturday. After much needed sleep from up all night some previous nights before to catch up for their overdue homework, the young socialite was ready for today match.
Upon arriving at the pitch, Cash made their way towards Slytherin locker room. They put on their Quidditch robe that covered their plain black tee. Today, the purple haired decided to wear all black except their shoes. Their infamous green trainers stood out from all the black attire that they wore today.
After they wore their protective gear, they grabbed their bat that once it belong to their father when their father played from the same house back when he was attended this very school. Cash also grabbed the school broom. The school broom in Cash's opinion was not enough for them. In terms of maneuverability and speed.
But for now, it is what Cash could do. They were hoping by the time the next match rolled in, they already had their own broom. The beater once again check their things. And when it is completed, they got out from the locker and onto the pitch. It seems they are one of the people that was already arrived early for this match.
Cash spotted the other Beater for their team. Erin was someone that Cash looked up to. Her strength was something Cash wanted to have one day. Be able to one shot opposing player would be satisfying for them. Then there was the other girl. Cash never seen that girl before but they did not dwelled on it.
The purple haired mounted their broom and kicked the ground. Cash then heard Erin shouted something to the opposing player. The young Ironwoods snickered under their breath. A little childish but hey they still a twelve years old. While waiting for their other team mates to arrived at the pitch, Cash spoke up a little prayer that their father used to say before every match he had been to.
"May I do what is needed, with courage and skill, be a loyal ally to my fellow team mates and my house. Bless me this day and keep me safe from harm. Diminish my fears, grow my courage, heal my spirit"The green eyes started their prayer. "Bless me as I do my duty today, the best I can. Strengthen me in my mind, body and spirit"The beater continued.
"Help me to respect my adversary, as a fellow human. Bless and protect me this day in all I must do"The Cuban descendant finished their prayer. Their father used to say the prayer in English but Cash feel more comfortable saying the prayer in their mother tongue, although there are some words that Cash altered for this occasion.
Cash was not a religious person but if there is a Higher Power above, Cash and their team mates really need it to won today match.

Final Foray
Here it was, the match to decide the outcome of the season. Lavinia knew that her team had no change of winning the cup but the least they could do was prevent Slytherin from getting it. She had a good feeling about this match and part of that was because her team had just come together with the broom fund to get some new broom. She was using a new one this game and it was very exciting for her. Of course she loved her old Comet 180 but this new Cleansweep 7 was sure to give her an edge up.
She walked out onto the field and was glad that this game she was back to playing first string. With her broom clutched in her hand and mind full of motivation she moved towards the middle of the field and waited for the whistle.

Flash's year had not been great, all thing considered. He was alive, at least, which was something of a victory. Here he was at the start of May, clad in full Quidditch gear despite the fact that he really hoped he wouldn't be playing. Whether out on the field after the far more qualified Captain Palmer was removed, or on the bench with the navel gazers, either way Flash wasn't really wanted. He was still new, having proven little besides the fact that he was not an incompetent flier.
The conversation from the last match made him seriously dread sitting beside Percival again. He didn't want to discuss how he had broken up with Anastasia, or how she had mentioned a rumor about him flirting with other girls. What was with everyone and thinking he was flirting with people? How was he supposed to defend himself from such an accusation, when his intentions didn't seem to matter? Either way, Rainwood seemed to hold as little nuance to his thought as a bag of bricks, and he wasn't hoping to spend the match having another inane argument.
This time he wouldn't just go out and sit down. Starting in the locker room, Flash would sidle up to Thomas' side. Like Flash, he was unlikely to be called out onto the field. "Thomas, would you be a gentleman and sit beside me?" Flash smiled at him, though it was clear on his face that he would be crestfallen if he received a no. "I don't want to be within broom proximity of Rainwood."
He had no reason to think Thomas would want to do him any favors, but it was hardly a big ask.

Percival sat down on the bench, his gaze locked on the sky above him. The boy had chosen the furthest possible seat from Holmwood. One of the last things he needed today was for the loud boy to give him a headache. He was too excited to let the other boy ruin his day. This was their last match of the year, and their last chance to come out on top. The boy gripped his broom tight as he waited for the match to start.

The Dhampir waited on the pitch calmly, eyes peering over her own team as well as the opposers. It was true, Ravenclaws did tend to stick to themselves, so even though she had seen these Slytherins day in and day out, there was still no retained memory apart from their faces. The only one she did know was the girl who immediately aimed a remark at her fellow teammates. Valencia's face turned to a scowl, eyes narrowed on Erin's gaze. Classic snake behavior she supposed, almost made her wonder where that anger came from. It wouldn't matter, the Eagles would make her eat her words soon enough.

It felt like only yesterday that they achieved victory against the Badgers, yet here they were again, on the field. Once more, Nico's hair had slightly grown longer and today the dhampir chose to put it up in a braid, curled up into some sort of bun. A black ribbon, tied around it.
A similar mouthmask covered her lips and nose: pitch black with bright white sharp teeth on them. It both functioned as a scarf to keep her warm in the skies and protect her against the rare rays of sunshine that pierced through the grey clouds every so often. Her make-up was perfect. The signature red eyeliner decorating the corner of her ice blue hues, making them stand out. Underneath her Quidditch gear, she wore an extra layer of clothing as to keep her more protected from the cold breeze that whirled through the spectator towers. The weather was perfect for her kind. It was still cold, but it was more manageble than clear skies.
On her back, she carried the number 0. The time she chose this number was because she felt that she was an odd one out in her team. One who didn't really belong next to her peers. Something passing. Yet, today, Nico felt that it had a more powerfull meaning. Even if she were quite different, that was where her power was. And it was fine to be that way. She had to become stronger. Become more... kind... to herself.
Quickly glancing towards her teammates, she held onto her broomstick and carefully took off. A few laps around the field as a slight warm up until all her teammates would show up. In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.
Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.

Effect: You are very distracting to look at. This increases the Control DC of spells in duels and adventures by +2 as well as the DC for finding things in adventures or the DC for finding the snitch in a game of Quidditch. (Not sure if usefull for our game but just putting it out there.)
--Unsetteling Aura
A Dhampir's Unsettling Aura becomes noticeable. This is created by their presence. It is that uncanny feeling one gets where the small hairs on the back of their neck stand on end and the flesh on their arms turn to gooseflesh. It is as if the room itself was turned down by several degrees and one's heart was filled with a foreboding sense.
Effect: This represented as a 10% auto-fail rate for anyone besides the Dhampir (or other Dhampirs) to perform an action or cast a spell. Unfortunately, this prevents a dhampir from being hidden (entering stealth) when in use. As such any attempts to be hidden in a topic while this is on would automatically fail. However, a dhampir can turn off their aura at the cost of an action (unlike those that have the ability terrible presence) and as an action turn back on their aura. This ability does not stack in intensity when multiple Dhampirs have it activated.

And it was on once more. River took in the sight of the entire quidditch pitch as she entered with the rest of her team, broom in hand. The memories of the last match flashed quick in her mind, remembering all the things that went wrong. She was determined to not let that happen again this time, and hoped that all her training would help prevent a recurrence of bad events. Of course in the end there was no guarantee of success in games like quidditch, one never really knows what the other team has in store. She knew there was not much beyond her own actions that she could control, and that thought was both reassuring and terrifying. One thing she was sure to take even more seriously this game was watching out for bludgers. Those bastards come out of nowhere, and no part of her wanted to experience being hit again.
