~~ PERSONALITY ~~
Asterin has always been an impulsive and inquisitive child. Furthermore, she has a lot of energy. Her parents, and her uncle, very quickly found out that the best way to deal with this abundant amount of spirit was to give her something to hyper-focus on. Making up a mystery on the spot and letting her solve it, or tell her that there was a hidden message in the book she needed to read usually did the trick. While she has gotten better at controlling it as she has gotten older, now close to her teen years, it is still very much apparent in her very forward nature. She has zero “thinking first” capabilities.
Asterin’s curious little self can, and will stick her nose where it does not belong. She has been taught that nothing in life is worth getting easily, so if there is a secret around, she will want to figure out what it is and why it's being kept hidden.
Because her immediate family has spent most of their lives trying to keep things hidden from the young girl, she has developed a certain skill for sneaking around unheard or unseen. (Though, she has still not managed to crack the secret that they are holding… Someday she WILL figure it out.)

~~ APPERANCE ~~
When it comes to her appearance, Asterin is on the average size in both height and weight. At present moment, she is just about 4'10 tall, though still growing. She has bright red hair inherited from her mother's side of the family, along with striking blue eyes from her father's. Along with that, she has a LOT of freckles. Not just in her face, but also sprinkled about on the rest of her body. She is quite frail when it comes down to it, but makes up for it by being both speedy and stealthy, depending on the circumstances.

~~ STORY ~~
Asterin has spent most of her upbringing with her uncle and twin cousins. Not because her parents didn’t love her or didn’t want to spend time with her and her brother, but their jobs simply didn’t allow for much free time. While the young girl naturally misses her parents, she knows that they love her and wish her the best in life. They send her owls regularly, along with small gifts and trinkets to let her know they are thinking of her. Her aunt had been out of the picture since before she was born, so she never met her. The only thing her uncle told her was that she was happy with her life elsewhere.
Both of Asterin’s parents work for the Ministry and… that's all anyone really knows. This means that she can easily go through a year without seeing them. It just became the new normal after a while. She has been perfectly happy with her uncle. Though, there was something that surprised her. When her brother graduated from Durmstrang, he followed in their footsteps. Gone for long periods of time, the occasional owl with a little gift. The secrecy in the family is immense.
It has made her wonder what is going on, and one day, she is determined to find out exactly what. In the meantime, however, she is not going to Durmstrang like her brother. Nordic blood flows deep in her veins, as both of her parents are from the North. However, when she moved in with her uncle permanently at the age of 8, she shifted residence from Norway to England.

Her first sign of magic showed surprisingly late. One day in late autumn, Asterin, then aged 10, was running around in the forested area behind their house. She was exploring a large tree stump with a large hole in it when she suddenly heard a noise behind her. Turning around, she saw a cute little bunny hopping past and decided to see if she could catch it to give it some snuggles. However, the bunny was a lot faster than her, and soon she found herself lost. Not knowing what to do, she began walking in one direction, yelling for her uncle. Since she was so deep in the forest, she doubted that he would hear her, but as she yelled for the third time, her voice was magnified 10 times over, reverberating through the entire forest and to their house, where her uncle came running for her moments later. She was so confused that she stopped in the middle of a clearing, speaking a series of nonsense words to see if her voice would do it again. It was only when her uncle came and mentioned it to her, that she realized that it was her first use of magic.

Moving to England meant that it was a Hogwarts letter that slipped through the mailbox. Because her cousins were already attending school before she got the letter, she was told many secrets of the castle, along with getting several tips about professors, classes, and the like.
