Kyden walked into the maze with his team mates and looked around. He studied the three possible paths. Something was pulling him towards the Northwest path. He wasn't sure why but he felt a strong need to go Northwest.

He looked up at his two teammates. Being the shortest of the three wasn't always fun but it also wasn't always bad either. "Let's go Northwest!" He was excited to get going on this maze. He wanted to win. He knew that with the teammates he had they at least had a good possibility.

He was quite happy when his teammates all agreed with him going Northwest was the best option. Kyden knew that if his teammates won the Maze event that others might seem him as he truly was. An ambitious boy and not just some scrawny boy that nobody but a select few wanted to pay attention to. He took off with his teammates down the Northwest Path.

YOU CHOOSE NORTHWEST.

One step after another, your team is heading northwest in the maze. Taking in the green hedges and breezy wind, the hedges seem to begin to bloom more and more with flowers and buds. The hedges become prettier the further you venture towards the northwest path of the maze. Strange. Perhaps it is the right way to go as increased growth is happening towards the direction. As you walk further and further down the path, you realize that not only are there more flowers, but there are many more bumblebees. Luckily, they were cast not to attack and only be idle among their flowers. You keep going, past the bumblebees and towards what finally seemed like a dead end of the maze. Oh no! Your team turns around and you now walk past the flowers and bumblebees and decide on a new path.

You must choose East or West from the entrance now. Teams cannot split up.

Kyden looked around. It appeared that his team had hit a dead end, however it was Hogwarts after all. Was it possible there could be another way through? He thought for a moment. Maybe there was a secret passage way or something hidden in one of the walls. It was very possible, after all he had found several hidden through out the castle. So really what would make the maze any different from the castle. He looked over at his teammates who were both looking around. "Maybe there could be another way through? Maybe like a door hidden in the wall or something? I mean it could be possible or I could be wrong." He didn't want to rub his hand along the maze walls and the floors for fear of being stung by a bee. The way he had found passages ways before was pushing the wall and running his hands along it. He looked at the walls deep in thought.

The fresh smell of flowers permeated the air as the trio trekked the Northwestern path. Dmitri Kazimir Jones' hopes rose as said flowers started to get more numerous the more the went down the path--and noticeably, bumblebees started to appear one after another. To be honest, the Slytherin was not afraid of the small insects and he was quite glad he did not have to hurt them as they stayed docile throughout their journey down the maze.

The sun shone brightly through the clear sky and laid its rays on the colorful flower petals. If one would just pause--they'd get to admire the beauty that was there.

However, the trio was all business.

When the path ended in the solid wall of a deadend, Dmitri was confuzzled. There was something about the placement of the flowers and the bees that caught his attention and it wasn't something that should be taken for granted.

Of course, it could actually be nothing at all--in which case, Dmitri's suspicious nature would have failed him.

He nodded eagerly as Kyden voiced out his exact concerns. "Yeah. I feel that the gradual increase of the flowers and the presence of the bees weren't by accident. I suspect that there could be something here. But I'm not really sure."

Narrowing his eyes, Dmitri looked for something--anything--that could confirm their suspicions, just like what Kyden was now doing.

If not. Then it would surely be an appropriate time to turn back--or cast a spell.

Marcus followed behind his team, keeping an eye on their surroundings as his team looks for some sort of hidden passageway, his wand in his hand as he takes cautious steps forward "I'm getting the feeling something is going to happen" he mumbled to the others, as he waited for the two to finish looking around he keeps his wand at the ready.

'Finding a secret passageway this early would be far to easy' he thought looking around with a frown, "Keep your wands at the ready while you both search." He told the two behind him "I feel like the first and last line of defense right now" He mumbled with a soft chuckle, keeping his wand at the ready.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they took something from The Tri-Wizard Tournament a few years ago." He said to the rest of his team "My bet would be a Cyclops or Minotaur" he added with a smirk.

Kyden looked around. He felt bummed that they hadn't found a secret passageway or hidden door or something. He was starting to second guess agreeing to participate in this maze. He shook his head and look towards his teammates. No! He wasn't going to feel bad. They could do this they just had to keep trucking along.

"Alright guys. Lets go West now." He walked with his teammates back to the beginning of the maze. He stood at the entrance for a minute before walking west with his teammates. "I need a minute guys."

Kyden hated loosing and he knew that it wasn't over yet but he felt like that is what was going to happen. He stood there with his eyes closed meditating getting himself into a game frame of mind. The same frame of mind he got into before a Quidditch game, even if it was an impromptu Quidditch game. He had to be mentally ready to do his best.

"Alright lets do this!" He was ready. He looked ahead and headed west with his teammates.

This was quite an interesting circumstance Drust found himself in. He never thought that he would end up in a maze. It felt a bit strange, and yet here he was. Still, he wasn't about to pretend like he had not signed up for this event. For the most part, Dru stayed silent looking around on occasion but otherwise following the other boys. He had nothing to say that he felt would contribute effectively - yet. So, he felt silence was perhaps superior to the alternative which was blabbering on and on for no reason.

Kyden announced they were going West, and with a slight shrug and sticking his hands into his pockets he followed. West to him was no better or worse than going East. They just needed to find the goat, which meant that it was almost irrelevant which way they went in here since they had no idea where the goat was. Instead, Drust felt they just needed to follow their guts.

At least Kyden seemed to have a good gut feeling about most of this stuff. Hands in pockets he remained fairly casual, he doubted that they would throw anything extremely dangerous at a bunch of first years in a maze and a goat was hardly something to be scared of. So he would follow to the West..

YOU CHOOSE WEST

The team heads west into the maze. The view of Hogwarts and Lake vanished once the entrance was out of sight. The ground became soggy at a few points in this direction for some reason but it wasn’t bad. A few birds already made nests in the newly formed hedge maze and squawked at the students trying to pass through. It remained light most of the way as the hedges were not too tall, but it was certainly shaded inside. Lumos wouldn’t be necessary to see at all. The path curved a few times but no options presented themselves beyond the current path for two more corners. Then the path split ahead where a choice had to be made. Further inspection revealed nothing more than dirt and grass. No clues about where they might find a goat or anything else for that matter. To the north, another path winded through the maze. It was hard to see where it went due to a corner only a few feet ahead. Another path shot off to the South and similarly seemed to be hard to judge. Lastly, a path diverged to the Northeast that went for a decent distance before also turning elsewhere. Where would the team head next?

Choose between North, South, or Northeast. You could also go back to the start. Remember that teams cannot split up.
