Two Weeks after the new school year rolled in
Free time before dinner
"So, is it true?"A mysterious voice rang out into the empty classroom. Well not empty per se, in the classroom there the green eyes. Scribbling away on their parchment to copy their last Charms class note that they borrow from one of their classmate.
Cash whipped their head towards the direction from where the voice come out. "Is what true?"Cash put down their parchment and now fully face their disturbance. "Your dad"The girl A faceless NPC who wear black and yellow, indicating she is belong to the house of Badger.
At the mention of their father, Cash tried so hard to control their anger. Like an old open wound. That wound being open raw and someone pour a salt onto it. "Yeah, what about him?"Cash responded with standoffish manner. "Your father gone,"The girl then snapped her finger.
"Just like that"The other girl smirked then she crossed both of her arms in front of her chest. Cash abruptly stand up from where they situated and take a big step towards the Badger. "You know nothing about him"Cash growled in front of the other girl face. The other girl scoffed at Cash's tone.
She was not budge although Cash tone borderline cold and threatening. "Oh please! Nobody going to buy your tough act, Ironwoods"The girl then laughed obnoxiously. "Who are you without your dear precious rich daddy, huh? Just a spoiled Pureblood kid"The girl taunted Cash.
This is why the other reason Cash hated that some of their so called classmates know that they are the child of a famous Auror. "Say that one more time, I dare you"At this point Cash's blood boiled. They grabbed the girl by the collar of her uniform and kinda lift it up a bit.
The other girl shorter than Cash. So when Cash lifted the other girl, the Badger kind of stand on her tip toes. "Who. are. you. without. your. precious. daddy?"The Badger say it one more time with emphasis in every word she said. That is it!. Cash took a deep breath and yanked the other girl down, hard.
The badger now seated on the cold floor. The other girl look at Cash who walked toward her with cold eyes. Like a predator ready to devoured their prey. Once Cash stood in front of the girl, Cash looked down at the girl with cold firey eyes. "Get up!"Cash demanded with such anger.
At this point the other girl know that she made a mistake by provocate the Beater. "Look,"There is a trembled in the other girls' voice. "I said get up!"Cash yelled. The girl hurriedly get up from her position on the floor. "I say this once and only say this once"Cash's voice dropped.
There is a darkness inside the green eyes and lurking to come out. Cash squinted their eyes. Look at the girl with hatred. "You do not get to judge me"Cash took a step. "Do you think you are so saint, oh holy one?"Cash laughed mockingly.
They took another step, closing the distance between the purple hair and the other girl little by little. "And please! If this is back in the day, your kind would not be accepted in this school, you dirty mudblood"Cash finally said the word that rarely come out from their mouth.
Unbeknownst to both of them, someone in passing hear both of the second year confrontations.

Katherine just nearly finished her lesson everyone left but her, finally she got up and carried her stuff with her only to notice a sound from a near classroom, Well anything could happen at hogwarts katherine thought until she heard a small bang at the floor. She took her stuff and stuck her head out of the classroom door and looked left and right to find the noise till indeed there was a bunch of idiot huffles triggering some student with purple hair, A unique colour for hair katherine thought but she didn't judge, she did admire her defending herself but what she did not admire is doing it out in public who knew if someone witnessed her other than katherine, they would have ratted her out to the nearest teacher oh well she has to clean this mess too.
She strutted her way confidently like the models that walk on the catwalk till she arrived and split the two from each other, she put herself in between them and rapped her cold right hand around the stupid huffle girls throat and pushed the purple haired girl inside the classroom with her hand and moved her head to face the huffle she was choking and looked at her with stoic sharp icy blue eyes and finally the idiot of a girl spoke"hey who in the hell are you and get ur dirty cold hands of me your silver rings are cold", As the huffle tried pulling kaths hands off and since kath was quite tall for her age she was definitely taller than this stupid girl so she raised her a bit of the grounds just making her slightly float, katherine immediately spoke after that" shut up you filthy little mudblood, and don't even try we both know i can rip you to pieces and do my nails at the same time",used these words from katherine peirce Vampire diaries she tilted her head to the side and looked at her with a smirk.
finally when she got back to her senses she put down the huffle and spoke"why don't you run back to your idiotic pathetic mudblood group and tell them how a cold hearted girl just choked you and threatened you it'll be good gossip I assure you and dare come back here and try anything ill personally cook you to death and leave you out to the werewolves, understood you disgusting mudblood", she gave her a stoic death stare and a straight face as she noticed the horror in the girls eyes, Kath watched as both of them ran for their lives and a small grin came from her as she watched both of them run so fast, she thought how such cowards and looked back in front of the purple haired girl and spoke"Im katherine , Katherine Labrouder and you are?", she looked at her with a small smirk and icy eyes and then spoke"well next time you want to do something reckless like that do it privately but out in public like this who knows who could have seen you and reported you, just friendly advice next time do it inside the classroom or somewhere private", she looked at her with a straight face and her hands crossed waiting for her response.

It was their fault, really. Cash should have close the door when the one that 'hazing' them walked into the room. One minute Cash and Badger are in each other throats and the next minute, a wannabe hero walked inside the classroom and stood between them and the other girl. The girl wearing red and crimson uniform.
Definitely a wannabe hero Cash thought in their mind after they seeing the girl uniform that belong to Gryffindor. Cash never see the girl before and the green eyes for sure know that the Gryffindor girl is a first year. The Gryffindor then wrapped her hand around the older Badger and pushed Cash away from the other girl.
"Hey!"Cash protested. The Badger also let out a protest about the young Gryffindor's ring. Cash did not see any ring the girl wear. Perhaps it is because the young girl choked the Badger not them. The first year threatening the Badger with style and Cash would applaud for her if only the girl did not meddling on their personal affairs.
The young Gryffindor throwing insult after insult to the older Badger. The girl (older Badger) finally ran out of the room and Cash noticed the horror that appeared in the girl face. Once the defeated girl out the room, the young Gryffindor introduced her name. The girl name is Katherine Labrouder. And when the young Gryffindor asked their name, Cash scoffed at that.
"It is none of your business"Cash started. "To know my name and who are you meddling in other people business?"Cash definitely annoyed with the girl act. "I appreciated your advice but then again I am not some damsel in distress that need you or anyone else to fight my battle. I can stand up for myself, thank you very much"Cash stated with sassed in their tone.
Cash definitely had it in the bag to frightened and terrorized the defeated girl without the wannabe hero that called her name as Katherine Labrouder. "Now, why do not you run along to wherever you come out from. I definitely do not need your help or what so ever"Cash said as they made a dismissal gesture with their hand.
They walked back again toward their desk, continuing their task before so rudely being interrupted. They do not care whether they offend the young lioness or not. The green eyes hoping the young Gryffindor will left them alone and they will never see the girl face again.

Finally, she heard the Slytherin crack open and speak and instead of a thank you here comes a bunch of rude responses, god if the Slytherin thought that this hurt her then she must be a fool. you need a lot more to get under Katherine's skin but damn Katherine drew a big smirk on her face and god damsel in distress really what did she think Katherine is a hero, Katherine wanted to laugh out loud but she just laughed internally and just drew a smirk and spoke "ouch if you think that this got under my skin then you need to try harder your not intimidating to me at all I just scared a huffle your size , I don't get scared not from you nor anyone so keep your breath in it won't help",
she said while keeping her icy blue eyes focus on her and a smirk on her face she continued"don't be fooled just because I am a Gryffindor doesn't mean I wanna be a hero in fact I'm the opposite, plus if you call that a battle then damn that was nothing those idiots got under your skin so easy, I just simply cleared the mess after all who knows what could have happened", she looked at her with a straight face and watched her sit back at her seat.
Kath rolled her eyes and watched as the Slytherin sat on her desk, she went up to her desk after hearing her last words and put both her hands on her desk and looked at her" with all due respect I'm due a lot more respect than that I'm not your waiter you don't tell me when to go or where to go so don't try me and don't even try you won't intimidate me ", she looked at the Slytherin with her icy sharp blue eyes staring at her with a straight face.

Cash looked at the Katherine girl. They did not know if this girl belong to a Purebloods, Half-bloods or Mudbloods Muggle-borns. They sized the other girl up and down. Trying to decipher her. The green eyes about to walked back to their previous place but the Gryffindor girl had another thing coming for the second year Beater.
"Ouch! If you think that this got under my skin, then you need to try harder. You're not intimidating to me at all. I just scared a Huffle your size, I don't get scared not from you nor anyone. So keep your breath in, it won't help"She said as Cash walked back towards their table. After Cash seated down again at their previous chair, there was a pregnant pause.
Cash thought Katherine already left them alone in the classroom, they are wrong. Cash was scribbled away when the Gryffindor girl speak up, again. Their head duck down but there is a smirk appears on their face. In all that long winded speech that Katherine delivered, there are truths in there. The Huffle rattled them and it is so easy to get under the purple haired's skin.

Cash would never admit this to anyone nor the girl her self but the girl got guts, sassed and all around something that Cash did not expected at all from a first year. Usually they cowered in the corner when they saw the green eyes or took the longer route so they did not crossed the same path as the Serpent.
While Katherine blandly told them that Cash did not intimidated her, Cash try to suppress their grin. The more Katherine speak up, in a strange way they like her. Cash still think Katherine is annoying but maybe it just her personality. No one ever told them straight up like that. Then a pair of hands in front of the green eyes.
Cash looked up at Katherine with bored expression. The girl saying something about respected and she is not the Beaters' servant. Cash took a deep breath to keep their anger in check. Katherine painfully and slowly irked them to no end.
"Look lass! When I said about battle earlier, it is a figure of speech. You do know it is a figure of speech, right? Or are you living so down under the cave or rock or wherever you live in, you forgot about a form of languages and society?"Cash really need Katherine to shut up and leave them alone so they can continue their task.
"And by the way, name Ironwoods"Cash introduced their name. They ducked down again, dipped their quill into the black ink and continue where they left off. It is barely their first or middle name but Katherine does not have to know that. A little proper manner still make a bit pleasantries, right?.

Katherine felt the Slytherin look her up and down Katherine just rolled her eyes with her hand folded and finally she cracked well one thing Katherine noticed is that's shes Spanish and lucky for her Katherine knew Spanish and a bunch of other languages and here comes the insult one thing Katherine admired is good insults but what she gave her is nothing if she was gonna say something at least make sure they're good she spoke with a giggle "that's all you have really playground insults if I had a 2-year-old brother hed do better ", she smirked with her hands folded while standing straight.
Until finally, she gave Katherine something hmm under a rock she admired her savageness she was daring she wouldn't back down a fight which she admired in the Slytherin. she spoke to her with a grin" under a rock really love, I live in a 28 story mansion I'm not some sort of cheap mudblood or half-blood so as I said save your time cause I don't back down from an argument or fight in general", she said confidently with her icy sharp blue eyes focused on the Slytherin and a family name came from her ironwoods, Katherine didn't recognise the name but she knew it wasn't her first name, she knew that because ironwoods sounds old so definitely a family name.

For a moment the room seems dead quite until Katherine opened up her mouth again. "That's all you have really playground insults? if I had a 2-year-old brother he'd do better"The annoying Gryffindor said. At this point Cash gave up catching on their notes. Cash put down their quill and fully face their pesky disturbance.
"Look kid-"Cash stopped mid sentences. Cash just realize how blue Katherine eyes is. When their own father eyes is gorgeous, Katherine's eyes was another league. There is something behind those icy sharp blue eyes. Cash subtlety swallowed. There something that Cash drawn to Katherine.
Something that the purple haired been pushed way down for years and hoping they forgot about it. The pull of Katherine's charisma (whatever it is), drawn Cash even more. Not like they will admitted it out loud to the annoying Gryffindor. When Cash insulted Katherine whether she lived in a cave or rock, Katherine delivered a fast banter.
She told the Serpent she lives in a very big Manor and she is not some cheap half-blood or muggle-born. At this fact Cash let out a loud laugh. They can sense Pureblood pride a mile away. "You are a Pureblood then?"Cash smirked. The way Katherine stated that she is a Pureblood is smart.
Many of Purebloods they know, the others bluntly stated they are one without any tact or whatsoever. "It takes one to know one"The green eyes added. "I notice"Cash remarked. They let out a full blown laughter as Katherine told the second year for the second time that the young lioness do not back down from a fight.
"Yeah yeah"Cash suppressed the smile that about to erupted from their face. "You are amusing. Still annoying but amusing. That is an upgrade"Cash said. They turned around again and picked up their dried quill. Dipped in again in the black ink bottle and wait until there are not much of ink on their quill then they continue the task on hand.
"You can hang in here if you want,"Cash paused. "And if you expecting me to say thank you for your interfering of my personal affair that you have none business of, I would not say it"Cash raised one of their eyebrow. "Cassandra, Cash for short"They feel like Katherine earn to know their name.
They took a brief short glance toward the Gryffindor girl and waiting for Katherine respond.

the purple-haired Slytherin spoke and suddenly stopped did she have a heart attack or something Katherine thought, she couldn't help but notice her fear or startle when she looked at Katherine that was strange, looks like she doesn't have any comebacks this time, good that saved Katherine from answering back, Katherine was quite fierce sharp-tongued, that could hurt anyone more like cut anyone.
The Slytherin was dead silent listening and finally, they broke the silence by guessing if she was pureblood well obviously Katherine thought, and the ironwoods continued speaking one to know the other so she was pureblood well that's good to know it wouldn't help if kath technically cleaned the mess of a mud blood, Katherine spoke" of course I am glad to know ur one too", she gave her a smirk but with sharp icy eyes and then the Slytherin continued, was that sarcasm Katherine thought well looking back at everything Katherine had done its enough to prove she doesn't back down, Well Katherine was quite amused herself as the Slytherin called her amusing but yet annoying she didn't care about the annoying part it was just a useless word, Katherine gave her a smirk with her sharp yet icy eyes.
And finally an invitation to hang oh well she hadn't tried much but why not, she sat near to the back on the other side of the room and the same row but behind her a bit, she grabbed the chair making sure no noise came out and sat on it while laying her feet on the table one on top of the other killing her spare time, it was her break, after all, why not spend it. Well, the least she expected a thank you, not an apology she did get into her business but what's the fun in that she thought, The Slytherin spoke again this time in French, Katherine turned her head to the side while looking at the purple-haired girl hmm Cash not bad nothing out of Kath's expectation since she did sense a quite chilled laid back vibe for her.
She spoke in french"eh I think ur name is already an achievement enough for me and I'm still Katherine", she said with a smirk while looking at cash" so what are the notes for, what subject?", she looked at her paper with curiosity but yet back at her.

Finally! Peace and quiet Cash thought to themselves. Cash was scribbling away their Charms note while trying to answer the homework that was given by the Charms professor. It only had two questions but the first one made the green eyes stuck. They did not know how to answered it. As far as they learnt Charms, their marked for the lesson was a straight O's and Cash intended to keep it that way.
Cash groaned and pushed their notes alongside their half done assignment of Charms. "This is useless"They said it out of frustration. Cash took a deep breath to control their inner turmoil. They just been a Second Year and they already encounter with some of the mind boggling questions. The serpent can not imagine what their next year of assignments will be like.
Can they maintained the perfect score or not, it is definitely depend how they are the next following years. With compulsory classes and alongside the electives one, Cash need to manage their time more diligently since they are also in the Quidditch Team. If and when next year there is a slot for Prefect application, they want to try their luck on that too.
The purple hair put down their dried quill that they still unconsciously held in their left hand on the table. They screwed shut the lid of their ink bottle and make sure nothing was leaking and put their quill into the case. Cash turned around and face Katherine. The young lioness put both of her feet on the table, one on top of another.
"I see that you make yourself comfortable"Cash teased the young girl when they saw the position Katherine in. When Katherine shot back in French, Cash raised both of their eyebrows up. Do not get them wrong, they know some of their peers who did understand French but it not that often the Beater found someone that can fluently speak other language than English.
"Seriously for a first year you got guts, kid"Cash stated. The purple hair propped the girl in slow clapping and there is a small smile etched to their face. "Oh that,"Cash pointed out to the abandoned half finished Charms homework. "The one and only Charms"They said.
"I swear to Merlin's if the other classes homework that hard, might as well just dropped out"The green eyes joke half-heartedly. If their parents heard they spoken like that Merlin's know what they might have done to the purple haired.
