A Quiet Night to Bond...

Ana got to the astronomy tower early so that she wouldn't risk being late. This would be her first arranged friendly hangout, and she didn't want it to go wrong. She had already planned exactly what parts of her life she'd share with Lily.
She wanted to tell her about her past experiences in an all-girl school, about her family, and about her strange wizarding experiences prior to finding out she was a witch.
Ana found a part of the room wish cushioned chairs for lounging and relaxing. She took a seat on a blue one and ran her finger along the cold wood trim of the arms. There were a few other stuents around, for it was a apparently a common time for students to be there. Some were studying, others laughing. But Ana... she looked lonely underneath the gentle glow blue of the moonlight. The sun had set rather early and the moon was just starting to rise, though curfew was not for another hour or so.
Ana looked out the window beside herself and watched as a group of young Slytherins ran around by the lake. They appeared to be having fun.

Lily finished her supper and ran to the astronomy tower. When she got there, she saw Ana sitting in a blue chair so she decided to sit next to her. Lily set her bag down next to her and pulled out a gold blanket for them to share. 'Hi Ana!' she said excitedly. She was really excited to see her even though they spent only about an hour apart. She stood up put the blanket on Ana then sat down and put some on herself. Should I tell her about Jaylynn before she starts? I think so. Then she looked at Ana and told her 'there is something I forgot to tell you back in the common room Ana. Do you want to hear it before you begin?' After a few minutes she said, 'When I was seven and my brother was thirteen, my mom had a baby girl that she named Jaylynn. I loved her so much, I did everything with her. Playing with her, reading with her, I even slept with her. When I was nine, my brother fifteen, and Jaylynn was two, Jaylynn fell in our pool and', she took a deep breath before telling Ana,' drowned because my dad and brother weren't watching her.' Lily managed to hold back her tears and she looked back at Ana waiting for her story...

Lily arrived soon after Ana did. Lily had brought a golden blanket as well, which she kindly wrapped around the both of them. It was rather chilly in the astronomy tower, the blanket helped to insulate the warmth of their bodies.
Lily was bouncing with enthusiasm, and Ana laughed at her sillyness. Before she began talking, she seemed to contemplate something in her mind. Then, she spoke.
The story Lily told Ana about her baby sister was absolutely devastating. It took everything in her for Ana not to cry. How sad!
"I'm so sorry to hear that Lil. Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to assign you a neckname like that so quickly. I hope you don't mind. If you do, just say so," Ana stuttered. Lily had never given Ana permission to call her that, so Ana felt truly embarassed.
"Anyway, I really am sorry. I can't imagine what it was like for you to lose your sister like that at such a young age. That sounds traumatizing."
Ana shuddered at the thought.
"You know, Lily, you and I have even more in common than I thought... I actually did have a sister. However, right after she was born, she was taken to an adoption center. My parents were doing very poorly with rent and couldn't afford to take care of her. It was rough. I never got to know her. I don't even know what she's like now or what her name is. I wish I did," Ana admitted. "I just thought I'd tell you that because I never really got to know my baby sister either."
Ana sighed, as she shifted her focus from Lily back to the window. Those Slytherins were still out there running around by the lake without a care in the world.

Ana hadn't cried. It wasn't that she didn't care about her little sister. She did. Ana just didn't know enough about her to feel an extreme amount of loss. Lily had put her head on Ana's shoulder by this point and it was very comforting. It broke the slight wall between the two, and Ana felt like she really did have a sister.
After Ana had finished talking about her sister, Lily sat up. She had said, "Maybe one day you can go and find her. I would help you."
Ana chuckled slightly and grabbed Lily by the hand softly. "Perhaps. But I don't even know how old she is. Unlike you, I didn't know my sister at all because I was so young. Honestly she may have even been my twin. I have no idea," Ana confessed. "I don't even remember her. All I know is what my mum has told me. She doesn't like to talk about it much, though, so I don't really ask her either."
Ana looked out the window once again. The Slytherins who were running around were gone, and the sky appeared darker. She turned back to Lily.
"You know, Lily, as strange as this sounds, you feel more like a sister to me than anyone ever has. And it's quite strange because I've had best friends before. Just none of them feel as much like a sister to me as you do," Ana admitted. She couldn't explain it. She just felt connected to Lily somehow. Ana continued, "And I know it's crazy, I know! I mean, we've only known each other for a day or so."
It truly was incredibly weird. Why did Ana feel so close to this girl?

After Lily had spoken about helping Ana finding her sister, Ana had laughed. She also gently grabbed Lily's hand. Lily didn't mind because she felt as if she had found the meaning of friendship. Ana said. 'Perhaps. But I don't even know how old she is. Unlike you, I didn't know my sister at all because I was so young. Honestly, she may have even been my twin. I have no idea, I don't even remember her. All I know is what my mum has told me. She doesn't like to talk about it much, though, so I don't really ask her either. Lily looked at her deep in thought thinking about what she should say next when Ana spoke again, You know, Lily, as strange as this sounds, you feel more like a sister to me than anyone ever has. "I feel like I have known you before, Like in another life, or we might be sisters in some way shape, or form," Lily stated.
Ana smiled gently and looked Lily in the eyes. Yes, it did feel as if they truly were sisters or something of the sorts. As Ana observed Lily more and more, she began to notice things. Only slight things, of course, but things nonetheless.
Lily and Ana had the same sky blue eyes. The type of eyes that people tend to drift off to while staring at. The type of eyes that hold the virtues of purity and patience. She hadn't noticed until just then, but they both had the exact same eyes.
Ana studied further, as her resting position became more and more tense. She was not longer resting her back against the cushion if the chair, but rather leaning forward, observing.
Where their eyebrows differed, they both had the same button nose a puffy bottom lip. Huh. Weird.
"Lil, you and I have a lot of similar features, did you know?"
Ana thought she may as well point this out. What was the harm?

Ana spoke Lil, you and I have a lot of similar features, did you know? 'Hmm I never realized that Ana, but my mum said she has dated another man before Dad. Maybe your dad and my mum had us! What's your birthday? Mine is May 16, 2009.' Lily stated.
She held out four pieces of paper to Ana. One was of a picture of a family, and the others looked like a family tree. Lily suddenly remembered when she dyed her hair blackish brown when she was eight. Lily realized that she looked just like Ana then. Maybe Ana's dad was Lily's biological dad and maybe Lily's mom was Ana's biological mom. She decided to ask her Mum about her previous relationship. She saw Ana look at the pictures Lily had handed her. 'The family is my mum, dad, brother, and me when I was 8 and the family tree is my family tree. Do any of these names sound familiar to you?' Lily patiently waited cuddling with her part of the gold blanket. She had a lot of exciting things on her mind right now and she couldn't think of a way to say them together. Could Ana be her long lost twin sister...

Ana was nearly in shock.
"You- you're birthday is May 16th, 2009?" Ana stuttered. This couldn't be real. "Mine too... Ah, I'm sure it means nothing. What's the chances we're sisters anyhow?"
But then, Lily shared a photo of her family and Ana got caught up in it for a few minutes. She had seen that woman before. She wasn't sure how, but she had seen her.
"That's your mom, right?" Ana asked softly. "I recognize her somehow..."
"But wait! We can't be twins because my parents told me that they gave my sister away because they couldn't afford to give her the love she needed," Ana contorted.
What if they had lied? Ana considered this. She didn't think of her parents as those to lie, but perhaps there was too much history there and they just didn't like to bring things up. The story they told her was ood, truthfully, for they rarely ever ran out of money. Ana's father was a lawyer after all.
"Well, I guess perhaps we might be."
Ana then looked at the family tree Lily had handed to her.
"Lisa Love! That's your mum, is it not? God, I knew she looked familiar. She worked with my father in his law office a long time ago," Ana stated.
She then looked at Lily, a new realization in mind. She couldn't help but shed a tear or two.
"I can't believe I finally found my long lost sister."

Lily had an idea, 'It's time for us to add your rightful place on our family tree!' she said excitedly. She pulled out her quill and drew a box and a line connecting her mother with the box. She colored the box blue and drew a line down from the blue box and colored that box pink. In the pink box, she wrote 'Anastassia Roberts, born May 16, 2009' She wondered what Ana's father's name was. 'Ana, do you think you could tell me your dad and Step-mom's name and birthdays? and she drew a bold line connecting the blue box and drew another box, this time making it pink. Why did Ana and Lily's parents take them apart?
