Out Past Curfew
Eri normally stayed out past curfew. She just loved seeing the great lake at night, and she loved to read by the lake at night.
It was a bit past curfew as she sat by the lake. "Lumos" Her wand lit up and she used it as a flashlight so she could see the pages in her book. Normally she more careful of where she sat and where to angle her wand but she was a bit distracted and did not take all of the precautions she would normally take when staying past curfew. The light from the brunette's wand reflected a tad bit off the water of the great lake, casting a sort of halo around her small figure. It wasn't very often that she was careless about protecting herself from being caught. Unfortunately today that was how it went.
She sat silently reading her book by the lake unaware someone might be patrolling. It was a bit chilly but she didn't mind as long as nobody saw her. Hopefully not a professor. Some people aren't as observant as others so hopefully some prefect or head boy or girl missed her completely as they made their rounds that night.

Out Past Curfew
Reid wore some canvas sneakers, a pair of scuffed up high tops to keep the noise level of his footsteps relatively low. He wore a cardigan to keep himself warm, his attire was pretty standard except for the shoes. But dress codes seemed to fly out of the window when it was past the normal hours of the day. He enjoyed comfortable shoes over the heavy dress shoes that he wore all the time. It was starting to blister his feet in odd ways after prolonged use, especially since they were a little bigger for his feet. He knew how much people liked the lake and thankfully no one has been seen snogging at the lake.
If there was anything more ghastly than seeing two people snog, then he'd like to see it. But as he approached the lake, it really wasn't that hard to not see the light from someone's wand, it was the the dead of night after all. He didn't use 'lumos' like this person, not when he had the moonlight to guide him along the way. It only became problematic in the corridors. Reid folded his shirt up by the sleeves as he came over, pushing his cardigan up with it as well.
As he got closer and closer to the figure, he noticed a book and that the student was a girl. Fearing he'd startle her too much, he stopped a not too long from her and even crunched a few sticks and leaves to signify that he was nearby. "Hey, I don't mean to bother you. But you can't be out this late at night, curfew was an hour ago." he informed the girl with a lopsided smile. He wrung his wrist rather nervously, a tick of his.
He always didn't like telling people the obvious, but he did it with good intensions and out of duty. It was good character building, he wasn't so timid and shy as he first came here. Not only that, being in his position in the beginning left him a little spineless and thankfully the months have helped him grow it. "You should probably head back."

Out Past Curfew
"I know curfew was past, thank you for telling me though. So there is no way I can stay out here any longer tonight?" The brunette asked frowning in thought. She had been having an enjoyable time, but rules were rules. If he didn't escort her back to the castle she could just sneak back to another spot and go back to reading. That is if he doesn't escort her back inside.
Eri put the book down and muttered "Nox" She turned around and looked at Reid. "So you won't get me in trouble?" She asked not worried at all. She comes out here many times but this is one of those few times she got caught past curfew.
The Ravenclaw girl smiled and put her book back in the satchel that hung loosely from a strap on her shoulder. She stood up and still had her wand in her hand. Thinking about if she do a spell but decides against it and puts her wand inside of her robe pocket. This would be an interesting walk back. "Thank you for not scaring me." She took into consideration about him stepping on the twigs to alert her. She smiled at him.

Out Past Curfew
Reid slowly shook his head, folding his arms behind his back as she asked about trouble. "Not at all, I think I'm as close to trouble as you'll get." he sheepishly smiled. He didn't have much intention to take her to the Headmaster unless he saw her doing something rather questionable. But so far, it wasn't like she was causing outright mischief. If her book was something bad, then he probably would have spoken up a long time ago. He gestured her with his head to follow, hoping she would comply. She didn't seem like the type not to, so there was no worry on his end.
"What house are you? I'm supposed to walk students back to their dormitories." he asked, slipping his hands in his pockets. This was pretty routine to find students out on the lake, he usually expected to find one or two students wandering the halls. The paintings were quite good about telling him where some of them went, it was quite comical after all. He was a little disappointed that he would have to come back here after taking the girl back to her dormitory, he wasn't done with his round after all.
Patrols came easier if he had another person with him, but the Head Girl always seemed to be busy. "What book are you reading?" If he had to guess which house she was in, he would say Ravenclaw. They seemed to be the ones willing to break the rules for a good read, not that it bothered him. Yet many of the book lovers he's ran into while his year at Hogwarts were mainly Ravenclaws. The students lived up to the words, which wasn't any issue either.

Out Past Curfew
Eri pretended not to hear his question about the book. She slipped it into her satchel and looked at him. Her book belonged to her deceased grandfather. It had been in the family along time. It was a journal that dated back to before the battle of Hogwarts. She always read it thinking it interesting and learning to hate Voldemort more and more. The brunette didn't want the book to be taken away so she didn't say anything about it. If he asked she would say it was a journal. That was true but all of the pages were filled and all she ever did with it was read it.
The brunette looked at him and smiled. "I'm a Ravenclaw and I understand you have to escort me, but I can do it myself." Her eyes seemed to sparkle with something. Was it mischief, or was it knowledge? She didn't seem to be the mischievous type, but her looks, and quiet demeanor fooled people. The Ravenclaw loved mischief, but she didn't do it all the time. Pranks were her favorite, or was it staying past curfew? She didn't know but those two things seemed to be her hobbies. Not many people knew that.

Out Past Curfew
Reid was a kind kid, he was polite and sometimes he was too much like so. There were moments that even he wished that he wasn't so amicable to others. It made his job as a Head Boy harder, some didn't take him seriously and others sometimes just fooled him a few times. He was well aware how he wasn't the brightest wand in the school, but certainly there must be something for a kid with a decent heart.
But since his time in the beginning, he finally found some resolve to often insist the rules. Enforcing them was easy, but the ones who kind of resisted the enforcement was harder to deal with. He hard a hard time sometimes saying 'no', yet he constantly slapped himself on the wrist and thought of the consequences. He could get in trouble and so could she. "I'm sure, but I can't let you go alone. I've never let anyone do it." he cracked a smile. There was a firmness in his tone, he wasn't going to budge from where he stood.
Did he trust her? Not necessarily, he didn't distrust her either. But she seemed awfully quiet and he was a little worried about it, was she really up to no good? He noticed how she didn't answer him about the book, but he didn't press. Her business was not his to know and he was afraid that whatever she was hiding was something he might not even like to hear. "It's part of what I do anyway as Head Boy."

Out Past Curfew
"You sure I can't be the first?" Eri knew he wasn't going to let her go on her own. So maybe she could get him to go ahead of her. "Well you first." She smiled a mischievous grin and hoped he would walk ahead of her then she could sneak off. She was planning something. It was obvious by the vacant look on her face that she was scheming.
Eri was quite the trouble maker, but nobody ever caught her unless they knew her well. In her mind her thoughts raced about how she could do some pranks or continue her research.
She thought maybe someone in her family had been a death eater. If anybody got their hands on her book it would be taken away. There was only one mention of the unforgivable curses but the hand writing in the book had gotten very sloppy as if they had written in a hurry and she couldn't read them fully. It wasn't like she was going to try. She knew how awful Voldemort was and knew that one of the people who wrote in this journal was a death eater. Still her father passed it on to her.
Eri smiled and continued to try to not act like something was brewing in her mind but it was very clear she was planning something.

Out Past Curfew
Reid didn't think anything of it when she let him go on ahead. He did his best to not short step any of his procedures and always thought twice of what people might do. But this was one of those nights where the head boy didn't think things out so well. He walked forward, assuming she would follow suit and if anything - not run away. Could he even catch someone? Reid had the strength, but speed was a whole different beast to even deal with.
When he started this, he got into some trouble with letting a few of the students loose every time he caught one. It was hard being steadfast and unwavering, now he understood why this was a role normally given to older years. Did he change? Perhaps, he was a little more confident in some of his abilities - but not all. There were times he fell short and ended up suffering the consequences later.
"A girl from Ravenclaw was actually hospitalized for being out late, well she was a prefect. But a spider from the Forest attacked her, nearly got the Whomping Willow to stomp her too. Left her in the hospital for a while." he randomly mused. Maybe it'd help her think twice in the future? Who knows? He had his doubts about the girl, but what was on his mind was getting her back to Ravenclaw Tower without losing sight of her.
It wasn't that he wanted to ruin anyone's fun, he probably would jump at the chance to go past curfew. But he was worried that she'd get hurt, it was dangerous and he remembered his first hand experience with danger past curfew. His lazy gaze widened as he slowly look over his shoulder to see if she was still even there.

Eri was surprised he actually walked in front of her. Well maybe she could just go back to the common room. It wouldn't hurt to just follow the rules and go back.
She listened to the story about the Ravenclaw prefect. "I know it can be dangerous, but It isn't that dangerous by the Lake." Eri continued to walk behind him slowly planning her chance to leave and sneak away from him. Maybe he would just think she would follow him and not check to see if she was there.
Eri started thinking. She wasn't very fast of a runner so she would have to sneak away. Also she isn't the most graceful person in the world either. So she would have to plan this right.
She listened as he talked about what happened to the prefect. Maybe he was warning her not come out late in case that happened. It did warn her, but she didn't see why a spider would come out to the Great Lake. Maybe she would be fine.

Out Past Curfew
Much to his surprise, she already looked like she was about to book it from his presence. It caused his expression turn into a evident frown, "Really?" It didn't take much guessing with what she was trying to do and it made a little upset with how determined some of the students were to break the rules. It made his job harder and a bad experience for them.
Reid didn't want to lecture the girl, but he did step back to watch and see if she was going to fully turn tail for a full on sprint. Would he be able to stop her? Maybe. But he really didn't want to run down the grounds chasing after someone, it sounded like a tiring process. Plus, he was already tired from doing his rounds around the castle to be able to have enough stamina to give a fighting chance.
"Can you just ... come along?" he motioned towards the castle. The night was dark and it would get cold, what if she got sick? What was worse was what if she ended up like Bloom and got attacked by some spider from the forest? The thought of that happening on his watch made him almost ill. The thought of anyone getting severely injured or even worse made him quite nauseated at the thought.
