This is a continuation of the events that occurred at the Ravenclaw Table and in the thread "SALEM: The Sequel". However, anyone is free to join in! I planned to mostly focus on recovery and deliberation of what happened. Thanks!
Adam glared up at the ceiling. It was the same ceiling that he had woken up to this morning, and the same ceiling that greeted him every time he put his head back on his pillow. He hated that ceiling. He hated being stuck in this bed, in the hospital wing, with nothing but his thoughts to occupy his time. And even his thoughts seemed to be growing more and more unreliable.
It had been less than a day since Adam had been diagnosed with his concussion, but it felt like forever. He still couldn't really believe what had happened to him. Getting hit by Kaegen, punching him in the face, getting hit again — it was all too much to process. It really was all Kaegen’s fault, too. Adam had tried to keep a positive outlook on the situation, tried to be forgiving, but he found that he just couldn’t do it. This wasn’t whatever hunting ground the other boy had grown up on. This was a school. And he needed to start acting like a student.
All in all, it had been a pretty terrible couple of hours. He had been told not to spend too much time reading or writing, which got rid of most of his plans for the recovery period, so now he just sat here. Waiting. He had gotten used to the nothingness; so used to it, in fact, that when the nurse came to inform him he had a visitor, he almost waved her away. Unfortunately, that visitor turned out to be Dean Harringtom, and Dean was not a person to be waved away.
Adam was surprised to see his brother waiting by the door. Of all the people to come see him here, Dean wasn’t a top contender. He had assumed it would be Eris. Smiling weakly at his brother, Adam watched him walk over and began to greet him. “Hey, long time no—“
“Yeah, I don’t think so.” Dean cut him off and cuffed him lightly on the head, making sure not to treat his brother too roughly for fear of injuring him further. "What the hell were you thinking, Adam? Do you know how confusing it is to get a message saying that your little brother is in the hospital wing robeless, blood-covered, and concussed? Did you try to fight a gargoyle, for god's sake?"
Adam laughed humorlessly and rolled his eyes. "I'm not stupid, Dean. All I did was try to stop Kaegen from doing something he'd regret, and--"
"Kaegen did this?" Dean interrupted, eyes narrowing in anger. "That lunatic you were telling me about over break?" Adam nodded, but before he could attempt to clarify the situation, Dean forged on. "I'll kill him. I will [EXPLETIVE] kill him. Where is this little [EXPLETIVE]?"
"Dean!" Adam scolded, desperate to shut his brother up before his cursing drew unwanted attention and got him kicked out of the hospital. The older Harringtom was practically vibrating with anger. His hands had clenched into fists, knuckles turning white from the force of it. Adam may have been frustrated with the other Ravenclaw boy, but he didn't want him to get in any trouble. "Just relax. It wasn't too bad. He was just caught up in the moment. We all were. And besides, I already punched him in the face."
This seemed to take Dean by surprise. "You did? Hey, nice job, man!" He held his hand up for a high five, but when Adam simply raised an eyebrow in return, his brother seemed to rethink the gesture and put his hand back down. "I mean, uh, that's not the way to handle these things. I don't want you getting in trouble your first year, Adam. Leave this stuff to me."
Adam smiled halfheartedly and the brothers sat in silence for a moment. "Dean," Adam asked, cautiously, "you don't think he'll get expelled, will he?"
Dean shrugged. "I don't know. I really don't. Nothing like this has really happened before, especially to a group of first-years. I don't know who's going to get in trouble; probably you, definitely him, maybe the prefects since it's their job to stop this. But I'll tell you one thing: if Rambo over there ever crosses paths with me, expulsion's going to be the least of his problems." Crossing to the head of the bed and ruffling Adam's hair, Dean smiled at him. "I've got to get to class. Try not to be so idiotic, huh?"
Adam gave his brother a dirty look and smoothed his hair back into place, watching as Dean walked out the door. Flopping back down onto the bed and resting his head back, he considered his brother's words and wondered when he'd get another visitor.
Staring at that same stupid ceiling, he hoped it would be soon.

Aftermath
Michelle limped into the Hospital wing favouring her left foot. Those damn moving stairs she could never keep up with them. This time she had been in the middle of walking when it decided to move, she lost her balance and rolled her ankle, probably spraining it, and fell down nearly 3 stairs. That's why she was here today. As she walked in she waved to one of the nurses and they came to help her sit on a bed.
Michelle had never been to the hospital wing and it was safe to say she didn't like it, it was very sterile. She let her eyes wander as she waited for the nurse to help her and she was surprised to see a familiar face. "Adam?" she questioned out loud. She pushed her self off the bed and moved a few beds closer to her friend. She chuckled a little bit regarding the circumstances of their reunion. "Hey, how you been.. Long time no see." she didn't wait for a reply before asking her next question, "What happened why are you here?" she surveyed him quickly and all she saw was a bruise on his head. Hopefully, he wasn't seriously injured.

Eris hadn't been able to visit the hospital wing the day of the drama. She had been getting royally chewed out by Professor Barrows for hitting another girl. Eris had spent the rest of the day in a state of utter shock and fear, worrying about being expelled or losing her position as the Gryffindor prefect. The short girl was miserable. Not only were her two best friends extremely injured, she was also in massive trouble.
Eris also hadn't visited the hospital wing, as she had been too afraid of seeing Adam. What if he hated her now? She could of done more to protect her friend from her other friend's wrath. She blamed herself fully for all yesterday's problems. It just wasn't fair that she couldn't protect Adam or Kaegen.
Hands shaking at her sides, Eris climbed the steps to the hospital wing. She had a chocolate frog and a card held tight in her left hand, as her right hand fluttered feebly by her side. As she walked up the stairs, the small girl noticed Dean walking down the stairs, and opened her mouth to call out a greeting but closed her mouth. She didn't have the energy to talk to Dean. Assuming Adam had already told Dean what had happened, the older Haringtom would probably be mad at Eris. Eris wouldn't blame him though. She hadn't defended Adam, although she had punched Eri. That had most certainly been a good idea. At least it had been a good idea, until Professor Barrows had found out and given Eris detention.
Eris walked into the hospital wing. "I'd like to see Adam Haringtom." She said, in a braver tone than she felt, as the nurse escorted her over to the boy. The nurse looked angry to see Adam have another visitor so shortly after his first had left, but lead Eris to Adam anyways.
Once the nurse had left, Eris awkwardly sat down in the chair by Adam's bed. "Hi Adam. I'm sorry I didn't come sooner." She said softly, about to say more, when she noticed the girl from the train. Michelle, the new hufflepuff. It was fitting that the kind girl that Kaegen had hit with a wand was a hufflepuff. Eris offered Michelle a weak smile in greeting, resisting the urge of rolling her eyes. It was a certifiably crazy experience that had lead Adam to be stuck in the hospital wing.

Adam smiled at his friend as she moved herself over a few spaces. It was unfortunate, of course, that she seemed to be a patient instead of a visitor, but he was glad for the company. "Hey, uh...." What was her name? He should know her name. "Michelle! Michelle." Adam cursed his concussion-altered brain and its failing memory, thoroughly embarrassed that he hadn't been able to recall that one simple detail. "Yeah, haven't seen you since.....the train, huh? Wow." What else had she asked? Oh, right. The thing that everyone was asking. Adam felt himself growing annoyed all over again but reminded himself that Michelle had a reason for asking him. She really didn't seem to know what had happened, as opposed to the several nurses that had asked him questions all of last night.
"Oh, yeah," he replied, voice growing a bit quieter. "Just a concussion. Kaegen. Slingshot. It's a really long story, and I'm sure you'll hear it soon enough. But, I've been talking way too much about that. How have you been, Michelle? I haven't seen you or Ava since the Sorting!"
Adam had missed the presence of the Hufflepuff girl, even if he hadn't realized it. She was calm, collected, comforting. She had developed a bit of a limp; hopefully it wasn't anything serious, but she was in the Hospital Wing for a reason. He bet it was those stairs again. He felt bad for her, but he'd take battling the stairs over getting shot by Kaegen any day. He had to keep reminding himself not to think about what had happened. For now, he just wanted to reconnect with his friend. He'd come to terms with the rest of it later.
It only took a second for him to notice his one true good friend walking into the room. Eris. She apologized softly to him, and he knew he should have been glad to see her. He knew that she cared deeply about him, and he returned her care in full. She was amazing, sticking with this all the way even though her two best friends were on opposite sides of a rising war. He was lucky to have her, and he knew it.
But at the same time, all he could see now when he looked at her was the hallway. And Kaegen. And a stone flying into the space between his eyes. She hadn't been responsible, she had even tried to come to Adam's aid, but he couldn't process this right now. He hoped she was okay. "It's cool, Eris," he replied distantly. "I'm sure you had to make sure he was alright first."
That was unnecessary, and Adam knew it. She hadn't chosen a side. There weren't supposed to be sides. But that's how these things worked out, wasn't it? Friends were torn apart and no one was safe. It was the beginning of a war at Hogwarts. And all Adam could do was play his part.

Reed had heard about a Ravenclaw getting hurt, he quickly went to the hospital wing, dropping his current book. Walking halfway across the school and several floor up he walked into the medical wing, still wearing the bandages from his, and Adams little....'training' session.
Speaking of Adam he walked into the wing to be greeted by...a lot of people. All of them had surrounded Adam, and were talking to him while he talked back with smiles. Reed made his way through the crowd and waved to the other boy. "Hey Adam! I see you're doing okay. Ya seem to be making friends everywhere. I heard a Ravenclaw was sent to the hospital wing and came as fast as I could." He then noticed Eris, and addressed her as professionally as he could. "Could you explain what happened? He is a Ravenclaw. I need to know if something went wrong." He said to her.
He had overheared something about Kaegen. That kid seemed....a bit too troublesome. He acted way too much like a gyffindor in Reed's opinion and normally kept an eye on him. Rest assured if Kaegen was a part of this, he'd be in even dipper trouble when Bloom got word.

Michelle squinted a little as Adam didn't seem to recall her name but smiled when he finally got it, she hadn't thought about it but they hadn't seen each other since the sorting. Wow, it really had been a long time. "Yeah, haven't seen you since.....the train, huh? Wow." Michelle nodded and looked away, she had told herself to keep in touch with those people and she hadn't, at all.
As Adam explained the reason for him being in the hospital wing Michelle could feel him get annoyed and tired of explaining so despite her want to know more she didn't ask any more questions related to his incident. She felt kinda bad for asking, it seemed a though it was a really big thing that had happened and she had missed it. She put her head down, sighed and shifted her way so she was resting her back on the bed.
"I've been good, I'm sorry I haven't made an effort to see you and the gang. I've been pretty caught up in getting to know people from my house, I forgot that we were all supposed to meet again." she stared at the ceiling as she replied, his question felt like an empty question meant for strangers but she couldn't help saying what she truly felt and she inwardly cringed. Her answer was forgotten when another girl from the train walked in and the air grew uncomfortably tense.
Eris shot her a small smile and she could feel the annoyance coming from her, Michelle just smiled back and continued her staring contest with the ceiling. She heard Eris apologize and Adam send back a snide remark filled with hidden meaning. She stopped her starring and glanced between the two of them, maybe she should leave? This was way beyond her knowledge and it's not like she was close enough to either of them to listen in. Just then another Ravenclaw boy came in and greeted Adam seemingly unaware of the tension.

Eris ignored Reed, staring at Adam with a look of utmost dismay. Her best friend in the entire castle was mad at her? The boy who had invited her to his home for the Holidays, who knew her deepest secret, who Eris would do anything for was mad at her? Eris set the card and chocolate frog down on the bedside counter, not bothering to tell him the chocolate frog was an old one from the train.
"Actually I haven't visited him yet. I came straight to you." Eris said, in the same soft, somber voice. "I couldn't come sooner. I er," she paused, rubbing at her neck, "punched Eri in the face and was sort of dealing with the repercussions of that." She wished it was just her and Adam, not wanting to let the whole hospital wing know that she was responsible for the nasty bruise on Eri Windstone's face. Eris was terrified, as she glanced at Michelle, Adam, and Reed. Finally she looked at Reed, "Kaegen hurt him pretty bad." She still didn't understand why her two best friends had gotten into a fight, and the shock of the fight was still fresh in the little red-head's mind.
Eris's leg shook as she looked away from Reed and back at Adam. "I'm sorry I couldn't stay with you. It's all my fault. I should of stopped Kaegen." She said, voice near a whisper.

Thanks Adam! Glad to be apart!
"That class is getting ridiculous! Ridiculous!" A sqeakish voice shouted from the hall, growing louder as the voice approached closer to the room. The large door of the hospital wing opened with a loud, startling thud as two students walked into the wing, one a boy, another a girl. The two were clearly different houses, the boy being a Slytherin as his green tie was tied around his left wrist as though to hold it in place, while the girl wore her red and gold colors neatly and presentable. The boy looked infuriated, while the young girl looked calm at his storm. The pair went up to the nearest nurse, the boy thrusting his wrist out as if to show off his horrid luck.
"That bloody plant bit me! Look at my wrist! Look at it!" The boy said quickly, the words rolling off like an unstoppable cycle. The nurse glanced down upon the angered lad before unwrapping the tie, revealing a swollen, gooping, purple wrist. The nurse didn't looked alarm at the disgusting site, and instead took the flustered Slytherin to sit down on an empty bed. She worked quickly as the Gryffindor walked slowly over to the bed, watching the nurse grab a glass bottle filled with a specific ointment used for these types of causes. As the girl made her presence, the nurse acknowledged her, taking many glances at her as she poured, spreaded, and smoothed the ointment over the boy's horrid wrist.
"What happened?" The nurse asked the girl as she shushed the Slytherin for wincing as she wrapped a white bandage around the bite. The Gryffindor didn't hesitate to explain what happened, she seemed to be prepared for the question already.
"He was bit by his plant in Herbology, I offered to take him here."
The girl's voice was a dramatic change from how loud and rough the Slytherin spoke. It was soft and gentle, each word seemed to be wrapped in a sort of warmth that provided a comfort, a sort of warmth that was very hard to find. At the girl's answer, the nurse smiled broadly.
"That was very sweet of you, Aubren. Then again, I'm not suprised." With that being said, the nurse patted the Slytherin's shoulder, giving him a short nod.
"You may go now, Mister Draket. Thank you, Aubren, for bringing the lad to me. That bite could've been more deadly than you think" A twinkle seemed to flash in the old nurse's eyes as she said that statement, and for a moment, it was hard to tell if she was joking. With a swift turn of her heel, she left the two to stand at the bed.
The Slytherin seemed to wait for the nurse to leave out of earshot before he suddenly stood to his feet, a look of anger on his face once again, but this time, it was towards Aubren. Aubren tensed up, eyes wide with confusion.
"Are you kidding me?! You?! Do you have any idea how humiliating that was for me?!" The boy said, the cruel words hitting Aubren with such a force, that anyone could see the hurt in her expression.
"Wh-..What are you saying? I helped you!"
"Help?! I was humiliated! I was escorted out of the class by a know it all, friendless, loser! You! In front of everyone! Unbelievable! Don't speak to me ever again! I don't want to see your face!"
With the final hard blow, the Slytherin swept off, his robe swishing in an angered wave behind him.
Aubren stood...speechless. For a good, silent, few moments, she stood staring ahead of where the Slytherin stormed off in. She bit her lower lip and looked around the wing, freezing as she saw three others there in the wing. Her watery eyes widened a tinge, as though she just realized that there were others there in the wing that day. The girl named Aubren looked away, feeling humiliated and embarrased for having those students hear and witness that. Instead, she just sat on the edge of the bed, her brown hair falling from her shoulders to hide her hurt expression, and her urge to cry.

Adam's head was spinning. Too many visitors surrounded his bed. First Michelle, then Eris, who he had been fine with. Now Reed jogged up, demanding answers, and Adam found that he wasn't ready to give them. He was immensely relieved when Eris and Michelle started to talk. The prefects dealt with the base information between the two of them -- of course, that was what prefects were for, wasn't it? Adam had nearly drifted back to sleep, hoping to slip out of consciousness before he could be dragged back into the world of problems that faced him, when Eris put down her gifts and apologized.
Adam was paralyzed, trapped inside of himself, caught up in the tumultuous events of the past day and entangled in things that no one had meant to do, that no one had meant to say. He wasn't supposed to be in a hospital bed while one of his best friends flinched away from him and the other was yet to be found. He didn't want to be here. He shouldn't have to be here. All he really wanted to do was go home. He missed his parents. In a strange way, he almost wished his brother would come back and just be with him. They were all only eleven. Who let this happen to a bunch of eleven year-olds?
He took a deep breath, inhale, exhale. These were dangerous times. He needed to deal with one thing at a time, or he'd lose control. First facing Reed, he tried to smile. "Hey again, Superman. Guess I couldn't stay out of trouble, huh? Thanks for stopping by." They were staring at him. He wished they'd stop. He hated being in this hospital bed. "Michelle, you're right. Things have been rough between us, but we really should try to meet up again soon. Hope everything's going well." That was two down.
He'd come to terms with the fact that this wouldn't be easy. In fact, he'd begun to think that the concussion had cleared his mind, rather than clouding it. If he wasn't going to be able to be near his friend without thinking of what had happened, he'd rather not be with his friend. So he had to turn her away. "Eris," he replied shortly. "I'm fine. Thanks for coming."
"Please don't do it again."

Aftermath
A distant muttering could be heard, coming from down the hall. A old, horribly scarred and disfigured house elf walked into the room, dragging red lump of something. A smear of blood marked where the house elf had been. Making it to an empty bed, he threw the lump on top of it. The child-sized lump.
In seconds, the white bed sheet was pink. And then it started to get darker and darker red.
A nurse rushed over, prodded the lump with a wand, and then her face turned white, the color drained. The house elf muttered something to the boy, snapped his fingers, and was gone.
There was so much blood covering the boy, it looked like he had taken a bath in it. His hair was matted down, and he didn't seem to be carrying his slingshot, his knives or any of his creatures. Everything except the leather straps, his scarf and the small shirt and pants beneath it, which seemed to be made of some kind of reptilian hide, was gone.
The boy said nothing, and didn't move. He was dreaming, of things that had happened, of why they had happened. He had no idea why, had no grasp on other children, why they did what they did. His imagination twisted the faces in his mind. Adam's eyes were dark in the dream, pools of nothing as he attacked the boy. The realization that this place was far more dangerous than anything he had ever come across before.
Hogwarts may teach him how to survive the world, but only if he was smart. He had to be smart from now on. In his dream, he walked away slowly from the group, worrying over adam. Their faces were dark, clouded. He couldn't even tell who they were. Was everyone here like that?
The dream slowly slipped away, leaving nothing in it's place.
