Lost amidst knowledge
Her eyes opened and she almost had a panic attack. Where was her white canopy, the muted light pink sheets. Her white walls and carpet. Was she kidnapped! Oh gods where is she!
Then she remembered...the train, the sorting ceremony, the long walk to her room. She was in the ravenclaw dorms, because that what she was now. A ravenclaw. She quickly got out of bed and grabbed her cloths then made her way to the wash room. She went on to take the longest shower of her life, left a few final scared tears fall, before she stepped out and dried herself off. Another 10 minutes of drying and brushing her hair and then getting dressed. She finished her routine with a lint roller across every inch of her outfit, and her robe before putting it on. After a quick...five minute...examination of herself in the mirror she put on her best ‘I’m not freaking out’ face and boldly...snuck out of her room.
She made sure not to make eye contact with anyone, even changing the side of the hall she was walking on at times, until she finally made it to the library. And she was not ready for what she saw when she stepped inside.
Taller bookshelves than she had ever seen. And endless rows of them! She was pretty sure this was the sum of all collected knowledge in the world! Or at the very least the wizarding world. Where did she begin? What should she read? What shouldn’t she read? What authors were good? Who wasn’t reliable? Was there fiction and non-fiction? How could she tell?
She started to hyperventilate some as she looked wide eyed around the room completely and utterly lost

When you look back and say "if" you know you are in trouble.
There is no such thing as "if".
All that matters is what really happened

Mason sat on his bed back in the boy's dormitory. He had just finished class and was finishing unpacking his trunk. Everything goes so fast here...one minute I was at home with mum and now I'm here in this wondrous castle with all of my magical dreams coming true...He began to think about all of the things he had done when all of a sudden he remembered what he was going to do when he finished unpacking. Oh, right the library! He thought to himself. He put his trunk down and grabbed his small bag, slinging it over his shoulder. He grabbed his favorite book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and a few small items and made his way to the library.
Hopefully, I can actually find the library...Mason thought to himself as he wandered through the many halls of the school. Finally, he made his way to the library, he opened the doors and quickly moved as a few Gryffindors rushed past him almost knocking him over. After they left he walked in, the sight of it all overwelmed him as he thought Ive never seen this many books in one place! He walked in and almost immediately saw the "Magical Creatures" section, he made his way looking at all of the books.
After examining the bookshelf he looked around again, but this time he saw a tall girl, in Ravenclaw robes who looked rather overwelmed. She looks lost, I should say something... He thought to himself, but the memory of the last time he tried to help came back to him, No that last girl was a Slytherin, this will be different, He seemed to argue with his inner thoughts. At last, he made his way over.
He approached the girl from the side and lightly touched her shoulder to get her attention, "Hey, are you alright?".

Roxanne was so completely and utterly overwhelmed that she didn't notice a hufflepuff boy coming up to ther. her eyes continued to dart around as she looked at everything, a million thoughts running through her mind at once. And then. He touched her shoulder and everything came screaming a crashing halt. Her entire body tense and she felt like she was going to throw up. Time seemed like it slowed down as she slowly turned to look at the hand, her face taking on an expression of abject horror. She cant help but let out a slight scream, her hands quickly coming up to cover her mouth as she backs away quickly from the other boy. When did he wash his hands last? how hot was the water? did he use soap? what kind? did he wash the backs of his hands and between his fingers? how far up his arms did he wash? what has he touched since then?
She be became aware that the had infact just screamed and recoiled away as if a monster just crawled up and came at her and part of her felt bad. She tried to slow her breathing and steady herself before her hear exploded out of her chest. When she finally spoke she sounded like she was on the verge of tears, her voice shaky as she tried to hold it together. "I'm sorry. I don't...please don't touch me...I'm sorry" she blushed feeling the shame of the situation washing over her. "Just...trying to find books...don't know what to get...i'm sorry"

Suddenly as if Mason was infected with some deadly disease, the girl recoiled and let a shriek out from her mouth. Everyone in the vicinity of them suddenly looked right at the two of them. Mason's eyes went wide and he felt his face start to get very red. She stepped away from him and instantly started shaking, he watched as she tried to get some words out,
He decided to try to help the girl. "You said you were looking for a book...Maybe I can help? It's my first time in this library, but ive been in plenty of libraries in general." Wizard libraries can't be that different than muggle libraries, He thought to himself. "What do you say?" He looked at her with the slightest smile.
She finally said, apologizing multiple times. He watched as her face flushed a bright shade of red."I'm sorry. I don't...please don't touch me...I'm sorry"
Mason stood there almost scared of what to do or say next. He felt it as the hand he hadn't moved since he touched her started to shake. He quickly moved it to his side and looked up at her. He tried to speak "No, don't be sorry! I'm sorry. That was my bad." He sighs. Why do I always mess things up so bad? I scared the bloody hell out of her... What do I even say after that...Can I even help at all? He thought to himself for a bit."Just...trying to find books...don't know what to get...i'm sorry"
