Quidditch Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor - Spring 2024

The game was all but won. Jorah witnessed as his latest volley KO'd Finnegan then nearly Elsian with the ricochet. The Gryffindor seeker was the last opponent standing and barely at that. The impact from Jorah's attack was crippling, at this point a strong breeze would blow Elsian off his broom. Whether Elsian caught the snitch or not was now irrelevant. Ravenclaw was victorious. Captain Cecily would retire with one final win under her belt. It was time to put the little lion's out of their misery.

Where in the bloody name of quidditch was this snitch. After taking out almost all of the Gryffindors and getting massively ahead in the quaffle game, Lavinia knew there was only one thing left to do. Find and catch the snitch! She had tried to look for it many times in the past, but it wasn’t her set of skills, she preferred to grab the quaffle as opposed to snatch the snitch. Yet, even as Lavinia looked left and right across the field, she couldn’t find it. The glimmer of gold was all they needed to end the game, and now they had put an excessive amount of them out to find the snitch. The past two or so years without River as their seeker had been rough, and it caused them to continually train up new players and hope for the best. Today was just hoping for the best, and hoping that they could find the snitch to win this match!

By Merlin's flappy blue robes he almost wished that the last bludger had put him out of his misery because that ricochet hurt!

There was no way of winning at this point but Elsian wouldn’t be stopping until he either caught that stupid golden blur or was finally knocked down for the count once and for all. Quite frankly though it was likely going to be the latter, he was definitely feeling that last hit and there was no way he could take another hit. He could only last as long as he could avoid any hits and with how things were going?

Well, either he got lucky or Evelynn was gonna be joining the game very soon.

In the span of just a few seconds, this match had gone from eke-out-a-win possible to an in-the-bag kinda victory. It wasn't that Cecily felt particularly great watching the Gryffindor players drop like flies—Merlin knew she'd had her fair share of being on the receiving end of such an offense—but she couldn't deny it was somewhat fitting to end her Hogwarts career with such an overwhelming success. Perhaps her legacy as Captain of Ravenclaw would be that of a dirty cheater who took it all one step too far, but hey, at least no one would say she was a loser. She just did what had to be done—and honestly, she didn't think she could stop Jorah from having his fun if she tried.

The one remaining young Lion aflight, alone and probably terrified, was desperately grasping at air as several players in blue hovered nearby. Whether they were up to something or simply didn't know what to do next at this point was yet to be known. Cecily slowed down. Ravenclaw wasn't trying to assert their dominance anymore. They were just looking for a merciful end to this match that didn't involve humiliating the Gryffindors more than necessary (or, unfortunately, than they already had).

For now, she could just sit back and relax, watching the game unfold; 40 more quaffle points for them, one more Gryffindor player knocked out of the sky and tumbling towards the ground. There was only one lion left on the field, and given he was just hit squarely by a bludger, he probably wouldn't last long. Was it wrong that Ebony felt a rush of contentedness at this? She could feel it coming; the sweet, sweet taste of victory, just one bite away.

Debuff Fouls

Poor Elsian would not get a break.

His evasion was put to the test when one Winnie Harper flew at him, ready to do what the Ravenclaws did so well. Her elbows flew at him, and he would try to evade. It must have been like a routine for him. However, that didn't mean he was any better prepared.

He was hit by her elbows and promptly disoriented once again, the referee's eyes would glaze over the incident. Perhaps nothing had happened.

The Quaffle

With Finnegan gone, Cecily had free rein over the Quafflesphere. If there were any professional Quidditch scouts in the crowd, their eyes would certainly be on the seventh year, who had scored so many points that less experienced folk might have lost track.

The Snitch

Elsian once again was going to try a Spiral Dive. It was tried-and-true, something Seekers often used to get out of pickles like this one. But he was still disoriented from the onslaught of elbows he had endured throughout the game, and he came up with nothing but air.

Charlie, from team Ravenclaw, and Lavinia, also from Ravenclaw, were trying their hand at Searching given Aly's lack of luck. Neither of them would fare much better. The Snitch deftly darted out of their sight.

Aly, however, would have another story. As she scoured the sky, it was indeed very blue, and the sun was indeed very shiny, but there was something else that was even shinier: the Snitch. Right in her line of vision!

The Bludgers

And then there was one.

You couldn't expect Ebony and Jorah to do friendly fire, so what were they to do? Zero in on Elsian. And this time, they were going to ensure one of them got the job done.

Ebony went first, swinging the bludger backwards, hard. There wasn't much Elsian could have done to evade. The bludger slammed into the Seeker, and he fell from his broom, hurtling towards the ground below.

And then there were none.

Jorah would have been able to do the same, pack an even bigger punch, perhaps, but Elsian was already falling. His Silver Arrow would live another day.
