Pyxis didn't look too happy - the boy was unable to cast due to his own wand backfiring, and he was still burning...but as the boy tried to duck out of the way (when you can't cast, what else COULD you do?) no spells came his way. One ALMOST did actually, as Inara tried to aim for the boy while he was frazzled, but the spell veered to the left, and went straight for Draven! The Slytherin was able to dodge out of the way, leaving Pyxis dodging out of the way of nothing. But there was a bright side...the flames seemed to have gone out (Stop, drop, and roll, really WAS a good strategy). Not only that, but the boy's voice would begin to return as well. Pyxis might have been hurt, but he was going to be able to get back in the fight.

Draven, with Anthony now out of the equation, turned his sights to one of the other Ravenclaws, sending a perfect flipendo their way. Tracey TRIED to dodge, seeing the spell coming towards her fast, but she was simply too late - the spell collided with her just as she started to duck and she would feel herself pushed back like her partner before her. The Slytherin assault continued, as the tide slowly began to turn.

Draven wasn’t sure what was worse. The way Lucian seemed to have frozen in place, the fact that Pyx’s was still on fire, or the stray spell which wheezed past his ear. He ducked, shooting a flippendo in Tracy’s general direction. It hit her, and it hit her hard, making her stumble backward and momentarily lose her footing. “Mornstern,” Draven called out, hoping to break the boy out of his reverie. Pyx, on the other hand, was busy dodging. Draven just hoped that his own backfiring spell would have worn off by the next round.

Anthony was had just finished composing himself to his feet when he was hit by another Flipendo seeming to come from the same Slytherin snake that hit him last time. This time, Anthony was knocked into a wall and hit his head. He saw that one of his teammates lifted their wand to cast a spell, but it missed its mark. The other teammate tried to dodge an attack but was still hit with a Knockback Jinx. He lasted a few more seconds, trying to crawl towards the battle and get back up. "No..I'm not..Done yet!" He said to himself. But his body wouldn't move. The next thing Anthony saw would be the blackness of unconsciousness, the next thing he knew he would wake up in the Hogwarts hospital wing. "Aw man. This arena is more merciless than I thought." Were his final thoughts of the duel...

Even though the spell couldn't affect his breathing, Pyxis sucked in some air as he regained the ability to speak. He mumbled a couple words to ensure that his tongue was functioning properly before marvelling at Draven's exceptional work thus far. The second year had single-handedly taken down one Ravenclaw and landed an attack on another. Pyxis shook off the feeling of defeat as the last of the flames on his sleeves burned away and regrouped mentally. He simply would not be content with Draven doing all the work.

Pyxis was back in the fight, but Lucian was still frozen - was the boy overwhelmed by the rapid pace of the duel or had something happened? Jake wasn't sure, but the Ravenclaws took advantage of it - targeting him both at once - Two dancing feet spells both connected with the Slytherin before he could dodge! The boy would begin to dance in place. Perhaps it would shake him out of his freeze, as his legs would be doing a very impressive jig, his arms flailing along with them - seemingly moving TWICE as fast after being hit by two spells at once. Jake watched with a fascinated curiosity. That was sure to wake ANYBODY up...

But the Slytherins knew what they had to do - This fight without Lucian's casting was evenly matched, but they had got Tracey on the defensive - and while she was casting at Lucian, Draven would send another perfect knockback jinx her way! The spell would stumble Tracey, making her step backwards - but she would remain on her feet, trying to keep her balance....but Pyxis, with sharp eyes, saw his chance - the boy shot a knockback jinx directly for Tracey, and this time, still stumbling from the previous spell, she was unable to stop it. It drove her into the air, backwards, and she landed roughly on her back on the platform. Like Anthony before her, Tracey didn't get back up.

Jake paused the duel to make sure she was ok, and as they helped her off the platform, the duel would resume....Inara was alone - a valiant eagle against three snakes! Could she manage it? Jake had seen enough duels tok now that ANYTHING could happen.
