Mistakes Can Be Good
Alex frowned a bit with worried eyes. ”Good. Don’t hurt yourself,” he said softly. When he finished dancing, he collapsed to the floor, fatigued. He laid on his back and look up at the ceiling. His hair was sweaty and he ran his hand through it. He smiled while panting slightly and sat up to look at Ruka. He heard his breath out wow. He went red and scratched the back of his head. ”Was it good?” he asked quietly. He felt like he messed up in the middle, but that was probably just because he was tired. That was enough dancing for one day. He felt like they had spent hours dancing and they’ve known each other for a while. His face turned into a tomato as Ruka said that he was beautiful. What? He heard him stutter saying the his dancing was beautiful but him as well. He looked down as his face felt like it was on fire. He looked back up at him with a smile. ”Thank you,” he said as he stood up to grab a towel in his bag to wipe off the sweat on his face and get a water bottle. He smiled. ”No problem, I’m glad I met you. I think that it’s time to go back,” he said looking at the clock that read 5:34. ”Dinner starts soon,” he said. He walked over to Ruka. ”Do you need help walking?”

Mistakes Can Be Good
Ruka was pretty sure he must have broken some kind of record for blushing the most times in the short period of time he'd known Alex in, but he thought that he saw the other boy blushing at least half as much as well, so he didn't feel that bad about it.
He could see Alex looking down at the ground after Ruka had rambled on about how he and the dance had been beautiful, and he thought he saw his cheeks reddening as well so, maybe he had actually liked the compliment.
Hopefully, at least.
Ruka let his eyes wander over Alex for a moment, smiling at how sweaty his hair was, how he looked positively glowing from the exhaustion of dancing. He was captivting, and Ruka almost flinched when he spoke again, pointed out how dinner was going to start soon.
Ruka couldn't say he was very hungry at the moment.
"Right, dinner," he agreed, shuffling around a little bit to get ready for when he needed to stand up.
He smiled gratefully when Alex offered him help with walking, and nodded, grabbing the other boy's hand to help him get off the ground. "Thank you," he said with a smile, hooking his hand onto Alex' shoulder. His ankle didn't really hurt enough to need help walking, but he had to admit it felt much better to not have to step down on it too much, and it was... nice, to get Alex' help with this. "So," he said sheepishly as he tried out the best way of stepping forward without putting too much weight on his hurt ankle. "Can I count on you to come check on me and my ankle again?" He chuckled, his gaze hopeful as he looked at Alex. He really hoped for them to see each other again, hopefully soon too, not sometime next year.

Mistakes Can Be Good
Alex smiled at him as he realized that dinner was soon. He nodded slightly as he took a drink of water before stuffing it back into his duffel bag along with the towel. He grabbed his sweatshirt and put it on, then he slung his bag on his back. He noticed Ruka staring at him and he smiled slightly. He walked back over to him and held his hand out for Ruka to take. Once he was somewhat steady after a few minutes, he helped him to the door. ”No problem,” he said with a smile. He made the same mistake with straining himself when he was dancing, and it was painful to walk, so he just wanted to help him out. He adjusted his bag slightly for it was slipping. He looked up at Ruka as he said so. He chuckled slightly at his question. ”Of course. If you don’t ice that ankle I’m going to come at you with an ice pack, remember?” he said with a smirk. He opened the door and stepped out into the hallway. I seemed like everyone was getting ready to go to dinner. He looked at Ruka with a smile. He hoped that he could somehow get downstairs to the Great Hall.

Mistakes Can Be Good
Ruka really didn't know what it was that made him smile every single time Alex smiled at him, but his dad had always said that with some people, you could just have this instant special connection.
Maybe Alex was just one of those people to Ruka. If that was it, then they were certain to become good friends, right?
He kept smiling as Alex helped him to steady himself, and to move along to the door and into the corridor.
At the other boy's words, Ruka chuckled happily. "Right," he said, grinning, his eyes gleaming happily. "When you say it like that I might just not ice it on purpose so you have a reason to come after me!" He blushed as he realised how that may have sounded; at least he hadn't added a wink so maybe it sounded a bit less sleezy than he thought it did.
He bit his lip and looked away for a moment to hide his flaming face, for a while just concentrating on hopping down the corridor. With Alex' help he managed to get over a few staircases and along the corridors all he way to the Great Hall, where most students had already gathered in high expectations of dinner. "So, I guess we have to get to our tables then," he said, disappointment shimmering through his words. "But, thank you, again, for letting me watch, and teaching me some stuff, it was... It was really nice!" He smiled and slowly entangled himself from Alex to test standing on his own two feet. "If you ever wanna practice together again, you can just... come find me, or send me an owl, yeah? Maybe give my ankle a couple of days before I do anymore jumps but... But I'd still love to learn some more!"

Mistakes Can Be Good
Alex slowly made his way down the steps, trying to stay balanced with this taller boy putting weight on him. He was doing okay, and they finally got to the end of the stairs. Alex smiled and thanked god for not killing them. His face went red at Ruka’s somewhat-of-a-pickup-line-thing-that-wasn’t-a-pick-up-line-but-seemed-like-one. He smiled a bit. ”Oh, I’ll come check on you to see if you are, so don’t worry, I’ll visit you,” he said. He looked over to the boy, who was red in the face as well. He smiled sheepishly and looked away, laughing a little. The silence wasn’t actually that awkward, just a few words were exchanged like, “Watch that step,” and “Thanks.” When they got to the great hall, he noticed how many people had filed into the tables and were chatting about their days. Alex sighed. ”Yeah,” he said. He smiled brightly. ”Thank YOU for teaching me as well. And it’s not a problem. That was fun,” he said. He helped Ruka untangle himself and try to stand. He looked up at Ruka with a smile. ”Alright. Yeah I agree on the ankle thing. Feel free to owl me as well,” he said. He looked at his feet before giving Ruka a quick hug before waving and going to join his Ravenclaw friends with a smile.

Mistakes Can Be Good
Ruka felt elated when Alex promised that he was going to check on him either way; it made him feel like he was definitely not the only one who enjoyed their time together.
He nodded with a smile to show that he heard, and them fell silent, only muttering a few words here and there where necessary as they made their way down to the Great Hall.
Once they arrived there and detached from each other, Ruka just smiled as he steadied himself. "Anytime," he agreed, cheeks red and eyes sparkling. The last time he had that much fun was probably learning how to fly with Donny, and also that one time he ended up almost getting drowned by the Giant Squid, but at the time that had hardly been all that enjoyable.
He took a deep breath and returned Alex' hug, lingering maybe a bit longer than strictly necessary before pulling away and waving as the other boy wandered over to the Ravenclaw table to sit with his house mates.
Feeling slightly lost for only a moment, Ruka turned to look away again and then slowly wobbled to the Gryffindor table to sit in his usual spot, for the first time glad that he didn't usually have anybody sitting with him, so he could just ponder his thoughts for the night.
