It wasn't a great day for Audrey. It just wasn't. She'd felt as if thousands and millions of stones had just pierced her weak body. Panting, she headed for her first class: Defense Against the Dark Arts. Or rather, Audrey muttered, Defense Against the Dark Emotions. Yeah, that's just the life of Audrey: when you feel down, you just keep quiet for the entire day. As she sat at the middle-right of the class, she tried to look around, but she felt as if her head couldn't move at all.

So she stared at her desk.

For a long, long time.

Well, probably not that long, but long enough to make someone fall asleep on the spot, if you get it. Right away, she'd noticed something peculiar: some sort of blueish-green thing hanging on the shirt of someone. She raised her head for the first time since yesterday and tried to get hold of it. But instead, she had knocked onto that person instead. "Ow," she could hear her dangerously sweet voice.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Audrey apologised, trying hard to look at her face, but she was too drowsy to notice her freckled face. Gosh, she muttered. A bad day, and I've already knocked someone in the face. She sighed at the class, unaware that the class was about to begin shortly, possibly around five minutes. She'd heard that the Professor for DADA is quite strict, and she didn't want to upset her teacher at her first lesson. She wanted to leave a good impression.

Dark emotions began swirling around her like Dementors sucking her happiness. She felt just like a prisoner in Azkaban. Lifeless and unhappy. About to freak out anytime.

But she didn't know how to. What could she possibly do, then? Knock someone off the building or throw someone's textbooks into that annoying pitch of fire, in the center of the teacher's table? What is she doing? Why is she here in the first place?

Emily's Speech: #cfa120

The days were counting down drastically before Emily would be on the train back home from Hogwarts. That wasn't going to stop her from enjoying the last of her classes before then.

Defence Against the Dark Arts was first thing in the morning. Probably the most intimidating class Emily had throughout the year, mostly over the fact that she couldn't fight to save her own life. She was a pacifist, a gentle soul who spread love and peace. Not at all the basic blueprint for the likes of an Auror or anything similar. Where students would be learning spells in DADA to attack and defend, Emily learnt them for the sake of satisfying her growing archive of knowledge. If she could help it, she would walk into a den full of monsters and hug them all. Childish delight or humble angel, it was debatable on who you'd ask, but Emily wouldn't hurt a living creature even if to protect herself was the main takeaway in all this.

Walking in to class five minutes before it started, she was greeted with the same familiar scenes; students talking, books and bags shuffled and shoved about the desks and seats, and the layered sounds of it all in between. Amongst the routine noise Emily spotted Audrey halfway across the classroom. She seemed out of sorts going by the haunted expression on her face.

Emily zeroed in on her stupor. Super-Special-Awesome Friend mode was now kicking into high gear as she made her way across the room and sat down in the desk beside her. Emily's trademark smile was plastered across her face as she joined her.

With how deep in thought Audrey seemed to be, Emily wasn't going to waste time today. "Penny for your thoughts, Audrey?"

"Penny for your thoughts, Audrey?" a voice stood out, nearly knocking Audrey out. She jumped, trying to stay balanced with the chair she's sitting, even though it looked as if it could collapse anytime. "Oh," Audrey muttered, trying to divert her attention. "I'm just having a bad day, that's all," she tried to take a closer look of the girl, just to see the familiar face of a young, innocent girl with the same brown bangs as the one that she accidentally met - it hit her. "Oh, oh, oh," she shook her head softly, trying to read the room. "Sorry, I didn't see you just now, and it's just an accident, okay?"

Deep in her mind, she knew that the girl alone could feel the same way, only if she told her about it. But she didn't want to spoil her day with a bad news. And to her, her friends matter the most, whether it's girl or boy, younger or older. Not especially to start the day with DADA. Sighing, she gazed at her newly-founded friend, and finally found her courage to say, "Uh, w-what's your name? And h-how did you know m-my name?" And, as if she'd known her for years, she bolded her mind and added, "There's no way you spied on me, right?" A mischievous smile formed on her face. It had been a while since she'd last smiled. And a long-fringed girl had helped her to open up a mind - but just for that bit.

Audrey looked around. About five more minutes before class starts. And she didn't want to waste anytime anymore. "So, uh, I'm Audrey, as you somehow knew" - she rummaged through her worn-out bag - "And I'm from Hufflepuff, I saw you once or twice with another girl, but I don't know who," she then shrugged and took a Muggle purse out of her bag. "Well, don't mind me being Mugglish, I'm used to this,"

Opening the purse, she took out one of her Chocolate Frog cards - one that is too precious to be stolen from someone else. She stuffed her hand with a purple card, adding, "Here you go, this is the Circe card, one of my most peculiar cards," she paused, thought about it for a moment, then continued. "Just take it as a gift to... lifting up my mood," as Audrey kept the purse, she grinned at the now-shocked friend who, as Audrey suspected, didn't expect it. "Well, I've showed you something. In return, you have to show me another thing that you have," she winked, trying to reassure her. It's just one of the many ways she use to get active with her friends anyway.

Sudden Gift Exchanges with @Audrey Gallant
Emily's Speech: #cfa120
Thoughts: Italics
Emily was initially a bit disappointed Audrey didn't remember her. She was sure they had a few passing moments in the Common Room at the very least, though in terms of actually speaking to each other, those moments were few and far between. So perhaps maybe it wasn't fair to be all that disappointed after all considering how caught up Emily had been in her business as well as schoolwork. Nevertheless, this was a good opportunity to build up on a friendship rather than another mere acquainted relationship. Emily had very made very few close friends within her own house after all.

She laughed off her little jump, feeling a little bit guilty for having disturbed her intense mental battle before settling in to listen to Audrey as she spoke her mind, nodding as the words came out. Bad days were very familiar with Emily. Heck, everybody had them. That didn't mean they couldn't change that tune and become happy bunnies in the end!

"I'm sorry we never really got talking a lot, but you know I'm here if you ever need me," she said softly. It was then that Audrey handed her something out of the blue. Looking at what was placed in her hands, Emily's eyes widened at the Chocolate Frog Card that was now in her possession. Circe... She never had that one before...!

"You're too kind...!" she replied, with a tone that strongly suggested that she would take great care of it. Though to ask for something in return? Perhaps a bit... forward? Not that Emily would back down from a challenge if it meant solidifying a friendship with her. Trouble is, she had almost nothing of value to give her. Not unless Audrey happened to be interested in reading the latest issue of "Transfiguration Today"...

"Oh gosh... I feel really bad about not having something I could give you in return... At least not now..."

Good job, Emily. You've screwed it.

"Unless..."

She reached into her bag and lifted out her Tarot Deck. They still had a few minutes before class started.

"Ever done a divination before?"
