The Scarecrow Situation

Picture Alans situation like the image belowIt was another chilly morning in the Castle of Hogwarts, the sun shinning, the birds chirping and the sound of a soft breeze can be heard echoing through the corridors. Suffering from an early morning sneezing fit,the young lad Alan thought it may be a good idea to make his way towards the Owlery as he felt it would be less crowded which suited him nicely. It had been a month since coming to Hogwarts and has yet to send word too his family of how the boy was holding up in school. As he walked into the Owl populated menagerie he admired the variety of owls that were resting within their little nooks. Although smell of bird waste and hay lingered in the air, the smell didn't faze the young Ravenclaw as much though it was a strong smell to surprise him at first as he stepped in the cold white stained Owlery he muttered out quietly "M...m..my t...this pl...place could really use a thro...through scrub..."
Alan small chatter although quiet was enough to awaken some of the resting owls within, some staring at him as he walked towards the centre of the room, having be his first time entering this place left him in awe as he hasn't seen so much variety of Owl before aside from the Magical Menagerie shop in Diagon Alley. These variety of owl ranged from your typical barn owl to the ever so rare snowy owl. Catching himself as he was seemingly spinning around in circles he remembered he had a letter in his hand for his Nan. Not really too picky about which Owl he moved to the nearest which happened to be a brown tawny owl with a rather simple pattern on it's feathers like a small arrow crest across his chest. Remembering how his mother used to call Owls down with a simple whistle. Alan held out his arm and whistled, struggling at first as it was just a weird spitting noise he gave up and just called out "Y...you there...M..Mr Owl...can you come down..p..please..s..sorry to disturb you..t...this morning"
The brown tawny owl deemed Mr Owl to Alan was hesitant at first before flying down and perching itself on the little wooden fence tilts his head curiously at the young lad, noticing the letter it holds it's beak open expecting the letter already as it was the owls job. The nervous young boy inched his way nervously as he wasn't like the family owl he had at home so he didn't know how this one would react upon approaching he stuck his hand out holding the letter as if the Owl stunk, clearly taking offence it still snatched the letter and flew off.
Feeling a tad guilty for offending Mr Owl before it could leave Alan called out "Wait!..before you go!" quickly reaching into his bag he pulled out a few slices of bread he nicked from the great hall and held it out to the owl with an anxious smile on his face "A..little thank you for doing this for me!" In that moment half the Owls watching stared envious at the amount of bread being given to this one owl, as Mr Owl flew down to grab his prize the young Ravenclaw found himself being swarmed by a parliament of owls nipping a snatching the pieces of bread with their peaks, leaving small bleeding scratches and pecks on his fingers causing the boy to flinch in pain, almost ten of them attacking him. In the midst of things the pain from the pecks too his little fingers cause the young lad to wail in pain once finally stopped he tried to make a run for it only for them all to land onto his arms like a scarecrow in a way trying to pull the boy back in as they weren't done yet. Alan clearly terrified and traumatised at this point muttered in a panicky fashion "Sorry...sorry...sorry sorry sorry sorry!" Giving in he stood still as they all perched onto his arm as Mr Owl flew away to deliver his letter, leaving Alan alone to fend for himself as he screamed at it "Don't leave me! I gave you bread!" The boy stood their standing like a scarecrow afraid to move as the birds sat comfortably on his hanging arms.

The Scarecrow Situation
Letters were written, and now it was time to send them off. River had never truly enjoyed the walk to the owlery, and especially not during the colder times of the day. Still, it was her only opportunity to get them sent, as her scedule was quite packed.
She walked out the great doors, leading from the Hogwartse castle, to the grounds. She could feel the cold air hit her face, and instinctively put her arms up, crossed over her chest. I should have worn warmer clothes...
Even if it wasn’t incredibly cold, River was always chilly. Almost like she needed something else to heat her up, unable to produce her own body warmth or something. Great, I’m like a reptile... Cold blooded and dependant of the heat of the summer sun.
As she continued walking, arms still crossed over her chest, she was nearing the owlery. She looked up, seeing owl after owl fly in and out of their little entrances. River had always loved owls. Really, she had always loved all animals, but for some reason, the owls of the castle, and herself, had always gotten along well.
She had never met any issues while sending off her letters, which she did quite so often. Shipping off letter upon letter to her father, getting no replies, but still sending more. Every two days, a letter would make it his way, and every time, River was left wondering if he was even alive. Now, she was almost using the letters, only as an excuse to get away from the others. To go to the owlery, and say hello to the animal friends working there.
The young ravenclaw walked carefully up the stairs. That was one more thing she didn’t like about the trip to the owls. Still, she managed to make her way, nearly to the top. Before she was all they way there though, she heard a wail.
Merlins beard, what was that? She wondered, and looked in through one of the few windows within her reach. She couldn’t see anything in particular.
River continued upward, fingers cold from holding on to the rails on the way up. As she reached the doorway, she was met with... A peculiar sight. A boy, covered in owls, from his left finger to his right. What in the...?
River nearly let put a tiny chuckle, but managed to keep it in, trying not to seem too impolite. She looked at him for a second, before proceeding to walk on inside. «Ouch, seems like you’ve found yourself an interesting situation right there», River said, moving toward him. A small slightly devious smile was vaguely visible on her face filled with freckles. This was not what she had expected to be met with, when entering the owlery at all.
«Do you... Need some help?».

As side note feel free to emote the Owls if you wish toAll Alan could think about now was how he was going to get out of this situation he got himself into, all the while standing there with his arms far apart the young lad continued to ponder his predicament thinking how he could have avoided this. Alan muttered to himself "I..I..I should have really waited u...until the owl c...came back..s..sh.." Alan was immediately cut off by a sudden screech into his ear coming from one of the owls that sat perched on his arm, he looked towards what looked like one of those rare snow owls and whispered in a nervous undertone "S...Sorry I..I'll be quiet" the mean tiny snowy owl screeched again leaving the lad tight lipped for quite some time.
The Ravenclaw boys arms beginning to sting from having his arms held up for too long feeling like it was on fire added with the sharp talons that were digging into his skin he couldn't help but shed tears from the excruciating pain. Suddenly his ears twitched at the sound of footsteps the thought of someone coming to his aid was both welcoming and nerve racking, Alan was happy someone was coming to rescue him but the thought of explaining how he got into this situation was all the more embarrassing he felt. Turning towards the entrance to the Owlery he was greeted by a redheaded girl with Ravenclaw Robes, he smiled nervously as his face turned red like a tomato he said tripping over his own words "H..hello...t..they were s...so peaceful when I c..ca..came in..unt..un..til I pull...pulled out the bread"
Traces of bread crumbs can be seen scattered all around Alan, the Owls still not moving as they looked on at River, Alan tried to speak again only managing to say before being pecked "P...please...h..help..Ow!" the tears became heavy as this peck left a small mark on his cheek caused by the tiny snow owl closest to his face, a trickle of blood slid down the side of his head as added insult injury one barn owl that was perched on his finger managed to leave a dropping in his hand making his face curl in disgust. The young lad was helpless at this point as he tried his best to keep those arms steady as they began to start shaking almost about to give out he uttered one more thing desperately to his fellow Ravenclaw "d...do something...please"

Euphrasia and Honey made their way up to the Owlery. Millie was ready to send a letter back to her parents, she needed to talk to them a bit more about her family history, and why had they decided to move to have Millie in England, instead of America? It was a terrifying prospect, but she suspected that it had something to do with her more- scary- side of the family. Maybe not scary, in the sense of scarecrows or clowns, but those where pureblood was essential, and everybody was hated anything else. Because, Millie's father just happened to be muggle-born.
Though Millie wouldn't have normally brought Honey, her beautiful cat, along with her, as the owlery was where owls were. Millie found out that her cat was pretty animal-friendly. Of course, Honey also happened to want to eat everything when she was hungry. Affectionately, Millie hopes.
So taking the stairs two steps at a time, Millie pushed open the Owlery door, and hid back a laugh. There were two people before her. A boy and a girl, both were in Ravenclaw. Millie hadn't met very many people from Ravenclaw, and she knew it was the house of the wit, but it seemed that his poor fellow seemed to be lacking it. The owls that occupied the ledges, had found themselves perched onto the poor lads arm.
"d...do something...please"
Millie quietly stepped more forward into the room, and Honey followed suit. She shot the Ravenclaw girl a careful look, before examining the birds a little more closely. They all looked very... very hungry. Honey looked up at the poor Ravenclaw boy, as did Millie. An idea popped into her head, but she felt like it wasn't the safest idea. If Honey went crazy and attacked the birds, Millie could be banned from the Owlery for... forever.
The idea was the only prospect she had.
"Sorry to bother you and your 'bird problem', sir. If you want, I can have Honey bring them off, clever kitty." Millie picked up her giant Siberian cat, and gave the kitty a little nudge.

Clutching his second letter of the year in his fingers, Isaac climbed up the arduous stairs for what seemed like the millionth time in the past few days. It felt even longer as he carried his bag up with him, slinging it over his shoulder.@Alan Noble | @Euphrasia Millie | @River Dewlight
First he'd been to the Owlery to send a letter to his Mam, then it was to join Finn's new letter idea, and now, he had yet another letter to send home. This one was carefully stamped and sealed, and he kept it close. Nobody would take this letter from him, not when it was so important.
Finally, he reached the top of the steps. The paintings around the Owlery briefly winked at him, flitting across scenes of countryside and home. He pushed past the enchanted art and walked through the door.
But it seemed that nothing in Hogwarts could ever be normal. Inside the Owlery was a practical human totem pole, covered in owls from head to toe. An ear-splitting screech sounded from a thousand owl lungs, and he wondered what exactly this kid had done to incur their wrath. The feathered furies splatted dung all over the place, and down drifted through the air, and it stank like never before. It was almost impossible to spot the crying boy beneath the owls.
River was already there, offering help no doubt. And he recognized the other girl from the Rehearsal Room...what was it again? Millie? She had an alternating accent that was hard to forget.
Apparently, Millie had brought her cat, Honey to help solve the problem. He pondered it, and he knew her idea had a good chance of working it, should the cat somehow be able to calm the horde...though it seemed a bit ridiculous now that he thought about it.
Maybe feeding the owls would work and get them to stop bugging the poor kid. If there was something they loved, it was food. Good thing he had brought some bugs from outside.
Isaac reached into the pockets of his uniform and pulled out a few squirming crickets. Placing the bugs onto the ground, their wild chirps filled the air and they leaped all over the place. A few of the owls were distracted by the noise, mostly the Barn Owls with their good hearing. Shreeing, they leapt down on the new prey.
But it didn't stop the rest of them from mobbing the kid. This was really bad.
Plainly not knowing what to do, he took off his bag. Sure, this wasn't the brightest idea, but it could work. He swung his bag through the air, smacking a couple of owls and causing them to scream. In fury, several owls began to chase him, and others dove for the other occupants of the room.
Well, hopefully they wouldn't all die.
Maybe Honey would save them?

Alan felt that his day couldn't possibly get any worse but as the thought came to mind, the boy felt he had already shot himself in the foot. As a couple more fellow students arrived to witness the scared Ravenclaw boy in his scarecrow form he notices the cat Honey, before he could react he noticed the newcomer Issacs attempt to rescue him...only being slightly effective, causing a few of the owls to break off from the group crowding Alan and flock towards the other students. Meanwhile still stuck under a cluster of the birds Alan feels as if his arms are about to give out. Unsure of sure how this will turn out but he yelled out to the girl Millie and her cat Honey desperately yelling "I...I can't hold it any l...longer I..I'll take a..an..anything at this point please help! " Alan has pecked again for speaking by the small snowy owl which already had traces of blood on its tiny beak.
After a moment or two of watching the swarm of Owls attacking the other students, The young lad's arms finally gave out, collapsing before him as he let out a deep sigh of pain. His arms lowered caused the remaining owls to fly off him and move to attack the newcomers with a couple remaining, in particular, the bloody beaked snowy owl, attempting to flee he was circled and they pecked at him. The remaining birds causing him to fall to the ground and curling up into a ball in order to cover his face, the group attempted to poke through the small gaps in his fingers and arms to force Alan's hands away from his face, causing the boy to shriek in agony. His fingers badly bloodied from the persistent pecking and slashing of his robes due to their sharp talons Alan screamed out his voice clearly shaken as he was crying at the same "G...Get off...m...me..I..I'm so...sorry!" he remained curled up into an egg trying to block out his assailant's sharp beaks.

River looked curiously at the Ravenclaw boy in front of her. How on earth had he gotten in this situation? Her bright blue eyes scanned the room around him, and saw what looked to be bread crumbs, laying by his feet. She looked further up, and he seemed to have been trying to feed them bread. His poor hands were scratched up, and bleeding.
River opened her mouth, about to say something, but before she could, someone came in through the door. A girl, seemingly in Ravenclaw too. More people? River could feel her brain wanting to pull her out of human range, but then, she saw the girl had a cat with her. Rivers eyes lit up slightly, like they would when she saw animals.
River gave the girl a careful smile, as she walked towards them. Perhaps the cat could scare the owls away? Or perhaps that would get the girl in trouble? I mean, the owls started it. It would be more of an action of self defence...
And then, a boy came in through the doors of the owlery. River knew this boy from earlier, it was Isaac. River sent him a look that said, what in the world should we do!? Perhaps he had read Rives thoughts, and answered by picking something out of his pockets. River watched as Isaac threw the crickets out on the floor. They ran in all directions, and jumped around, making their chirps of nature.
Some of the owls picked this up right away, and got off the boys arms. Now, there were only the others left.
Some of them simply looked like they were waiting for food. Others... looked plain agressive. Perhaps Isaacs attempt didn’t have all positive effects?
Before River had time to even notice, the owls that flew off the arms of the boy, were heading straight for them. River quickly ducked out of the way, from a large brown owl, seemingly aiming for their heads?
«Jeez!», she exclaimed, looking off as the owl flew off toward Isaac and the other girl.
More owls were gathering around them now. Swatting their wings, and screeching as if they were being slaughtered.
River had always gotten along well with all animals, the owls included. Thay weren’t going to hurt her right? I mean, they’re animals. They have instincts...
The redhaired girl thew her arms up defensively, kept a close eye on the birds.
Suddenly, the boys arms gave in, all the owls were flapping around now. The entirw owlery was encased in chaos.
River could barely hear a voice through all the fuss of the owls. "G...Get off...m...me..I..I'm so...sorry!", she looked over to the boy. He had crouched down on the floor. Guarding himself as well as he could with his arms. That’s not really going to help, she thought, and hastily looked around to the other two students. «Alright, well what on earth do we do then?!», she called out through the noise. She wasn’t scared. The owls were flocking around them, claws at the ready, and sharp beaks nibbling at robes and flesh. Still, River kept calm.
She flinched, as an owl nicked her forehead quite bad. She put her hand up, and looked curiously at the blood trickling down her hand as she lowered it back down.

Защищайте, не атакуйте - Protect, do not attack.
Another boy arrived, just person after person. This boy, Millie somewhat recognized. It was the boy from the rehearsal room, with the curly hair and the blue-grey eyes. And, now taking it in, she realized she had never seen the other two people before. The girl in Ravenclaw with the red hair, and the boy in Ravenclaw, who was swarmed with owls.
Millie knew exactly how to have Honey save the poor boy. After all, Honey was a long-haired Siberian cat, and wasn't very small. Though most of the Siberian cats were medium sized, Honey was slightly- oh who was anyone kidding? Honey was ginormous. Absolutely terrifyingly big.
As Millie contemplated Honey's size, the boy suddenly let his arms drop. Owls began flying everywhere. Screaming and scratching, the owls began to attack the three bystanders. Millie scooped up Honey in her arms, and moved to the other side of the room. She didn't feel too scared, feeling a few nips on her legs, but Honey protected the majority of her body. Taking in notice, Honey was bigger than the birds, or at least, a few of them.
The poor boy was getting the worst of it, owls were repeatedly flying and nipping him with no mercy. Millie flinched as the birds continued to attack everyone. The birds were supposed to be nice! Why weren't they being nice?! This was a massacre in a moment, and honestly, she was terrified. Honey seemed to ignore Millie's feelings. She began hissing at any of the birds that came nearby. Then, Millie got an idea.
"What if Honey just..." Not finishing off her sentence, she put down Honey, and whispered something into the cats ear. The chaos, it seemed, died down just enough for Millie to feel safe for one second.
"Защищайте, не атакуйте."
Russian. The only language Millie knew how to speak, besides English. Her mother had been able to tell her a few words in the language, and somehow, Honey had been able to translate the word. After all, Siberian cats came from Russia. Honey had to be able to understand Millie, somehow.
As Honey listened to her command, she began walking away from Millie, leaving her be. The birds began attacking Millie once more, and the Gryffindor did her best to protect herself. Why hadn't professors taught them any protective spells yet? But Honey was doing her job.
The cat had walked past the attacking owls, and jumped on the owl boy. As a few owls began to back away, the rest ignored the cat. That is, until she began hissing and pawing them. Honey wasn't using her claws, but she was a pretty intimidating cat.
And though Honey wasn't going to hurt the owl, scaring was her priority. She was doing a pretty good job so far.

He was relieved as the Siberian cat leaped up on the poor Ravenclaw's shoulder, hissing and batting away the flock of birds with claws sheathed. For a moment, he cast a relieved glance in Millie's direction. It seemed to be working, considering that the owls were beginning to learn that getting closer meant potential pain. The group of birds darted back, making a larger circle around the boy. However, a few of the larger species, Grey Owls, Horned Owls, and Snowies, continued to dive towards him. A flurry of feathers exploded all around, and the screaming was still loud enough to hurt his ears.@Euphrasia Millie | @River Dewlight |mention @Alan Noble
Unfortunately, Isaac also had his own owl problem to worry about. A Barred Owl with yellow eyes flew into his face, shrieking loudly with claws outstretched. With fury of his own, he swung his bag straight into the owl, uncaring of whether or not it would get hurt. The bird dodged swiftly, flapping upwards before coming in for another pass. This time, it managed to nip his arm, giving him a cut. But he was ready. As it flew away in triumph, he slammed his rucksack into its back, sending it flying across the room with a cry of pain. It hit a stone wall before falling to the ground.
Hopefully the professors don't find out, he thought with a bit of a guilty expression. More than that, he hoped the owl wasn't dead.
As more owls came for him, he realized that none of them could keep this up. Sparing a brief look at the other students, he saw that they were in similarly bad situations. River was bleeding from her hand, Owl Boy was bleeding almost everywhere, and Millie was unguarded, having placed Honey on protective duty.
If all of them stood alone, then the owl mob would do even more damage. But what if...
"We have to stick together!" he called out urgently. "Everyone, get close to -"
He broke off briefly. Isaac realized that had no clue who the kid was, let alone his name. But he did know the name of Millie's cat. "Get close to Honey, and try to scare off the rest of the owls!"
While he said this, he tried to fight his way closer to the center of the storm, approaching the injured boy in the eye of the owl tornado. From there, he joined the cat in driving the owls off, thwacking them with his bookbag whenever they got close. Hopefully River and Millie would catch on.

Perhaps coming here with her letters today was a bad desicion. Not that there would have been any way for River to know that such a chaotic situation would occur of course. River looked quickly around the room, attemptind to see what the others were doing through all the flutter and feathers, screeching and crying. The cat, whom the girl had been carrying, had gone loose on a few of the owl, apparently not hurting them though. Thank god, River thought relieved. Even though they were being attacked, the owls were still living creatures, and hurting them probably wouldn’t help much. Not that the four stuents could take out a flock of them either. And River wouldn’t have managed to hurt them personally.
River’s red hair swung around, as she quickly turned her head as a reaction to a particularly loud and yelping screech. Her sight was met by a flying owl, but not flying willingly, it had been wacked. And as far as River could tell, Isaac was the one who wacked it. Why would he do that?! Sure, it might have been off the defensive instinct from being attacked, but River thought they could at least try to keep clear of harming the birds.
As she turned her head to see if the owl was alright, River heard Isaacs voice call out through the owlery,"We have to stick together!". Right, stick together, River didn’t pick it up straight away though, but rather turned to check on the wacked owl. It seemed fine, perhaps a little confused, but definitely alive.
"Get close to Honey, and try to scare off the rest of the owls!", River actually managed to hear what had been said through the mess that was of the room. It was difficult to see where the cat had gone off to, Honey, that was the cats name.
River scanned the room hastily, and eventually located Honey, all the way across the owlery. She could see Isaac already heading in the same direction.
She started at a quick pace, she could hear the loud screams of owls from all angles. Above her, behind her, from the left, from the right, and befor she had time to slow. She heard a ear piercing scream right in front of her.
Whack!
Her head was hit with large amounts of bludgeoning pain, before she crashed face first to the ground.
She laid there, not wanting to move, her body just wouldn’t. Her vision went slightly blurry, she could barely make out what looked like an owl, laying on the floor, not far from her. The screams got progressively quieter, and in not long, it was quiet. Did they stop?, River wondered. Right before her vision went completely black.
