He seemed to be the only one he knew in the junior league who had such mastery of the spell, so why not cast it again just to show off- at least he would be able to see. It exposed the field, just in time for him to see Siobhan’s spectacular muck-up, and a spout of orange flame from his right. In instinct, his feet took him from danger and he huffed. ”Watch it, Evethisawe.” He said, before refocusing on struggling Siobhan. What was a lion without their pride? wc: 106

In all honesty, all Ara wanted to do was split her wand in half. 'Whats's the point of a powerful spell if I can't even hit the damned target?' She casted the Knockback Jinx at the last standing lion at the piste. Although her spell looked really powerful, in the end, she didn't hit her target. Ara was quite angry at herself for wasting such an opportunity.

At least Leveret's Vetnus succeeded at getting rid of the smoke from Nade. While Evethisawe missed her incendio badly, almost hitting Leveret. The black and white haired girl also saw how phenomenal Evethisawe's incendio was as well.

Siobhan evades Ara's Incendio.

Time was ticking down rather quickly and it seemed that the snakes wouldn’t be satisfied with anything less than a total wipeout. They should have better aim then, Jessamine thought.

Siobhan, in the midst of casting her own spell, was perfectly capable of jumping out of the way of both Ara and Avery’s jets of fire. The lion would feel the heat on both sides of her body, but neither blast would come into contact with her. The same couldn’t be said for Mahlioz’s spell though, as the snake’s Incendio would catch Siobhan on her arm. The fire quickly fizzled out, but it was enough to leave a sear beneath her sleeves. It was obvious to Jessamine that Siobhan couldn’t win, but the lion wasn’t going down without a last word. She would aim at Avery again, launching a force of energy his way. It slammed into his shoulder, leaving a dull ache in its wake.

And that was it. Jessamine’s first duel as a moderator was finally over.

“A bit anticlimactic, but I respect the gall,” she brandished a single finger-gun at Siobhan before turning to the crowd. “The Vipers take it!”
